Tessa Afshar excels again! Once more she has taken a short few verses from the Bible and created a marvelous book. She has produced a believable, riveting, interesting story that enhances our understanding of the Biblical message. Her attention to period detail is amazing. Her characters are compelling. Afshar's talents seem to grow and strengthen with each new volume. May we be blessed with many more works of her creation.

The story was light , the characters were reasonably developed but not complex. I found very interesting how well she wove the tale into the biblical account and did not expect the twist. Delightful read.

Beautifully written touching my soul. Perhaps many others too - relating to the very real feelings of rejection and unforgiveness and effect the have on you mind, spirit and body. Bringing a freedom that only Jesus himself can bring. The scriptures at the beginning of each chapter echoing life's journey to wholeness in Christ.

The storyline was fascinating and the book hard to put down. The author made Jesus seem like a real person. The scriptures at the beginning of each chapter were well chosen and went to the heart of the matter.

As a garment seamtress, quilter, and one who dabbles in fabric dyeing I really enjoyed the book. It lead me to researching the fabric dyes of that period. Loved the plot and how Afshar developed it. It moved very fast. I had a hard time putting it down.

Another wonderful biblical novel by Tessa Afshar. Love everything she writes and the way she "fleshes out" the well known stories of scripture. Allows one to really experience the the times and imagine the lives of the people in those stories.

Very much enjoyed this book! It's the fourth book I've read by this author, and I'm still liking her writing! I've tried other writers after reading everything Francine Rivers has published, and this author is the first one I've truly enjoyed since then.

I absolutely love the story! It was perfectly put together from start to finish. Tessa Afshar is hands down my favorite author, and after reading this book she reminded me why. It was captivating from the very first paragraph. If you haven't read it, it's a must read.

A thought provoking story of God's love. Elianna is plagued by situations beyond her control, and by feelings that come from believing lies. These are all things that each of us experience at one time or another in our lives. She suffers loss, dejection, and hopelessness. This is the story of an un-named woman from the Bible, with a bleeding problem. I love the imaginative details that the author fills in. She brings the story to life. It makes for an emotional understanding of God's love for us, and made me want to read the story from the Bible again. Very well written. I highly recommend this book as well as all of Tessa Afshar's books. You won't be disappointed.

I was captured by the characters and story from the beginning. Intense! Plus encouraging for my relationship to Jesus when I don't understand pain in my life. Scriptures Tessa quoted were applicable to Elianna & me!! Thanks❤️

After reading all the positive reviews, I was quite disappointed in this book. The author's writing style is not deep enough for me and seemed to be just a retelling of events rather than letting us walk with the character's through their lives. It seemed quite factual and the author seemed to have done some research into the culture, but there was very little character development over the years of the story. I only read about 50 percent of the story which spanned about three years. With the characters and the story not maturing by that point, I deleted it from my Kindle and moved on to something more engaging. I gave it two stars for the author's effort in cultural accuracy.
