What a delightful, charming story has been written by Antoine Laurain. It will long be remembered as a favorite of mine. The twist at the end has thoroughly captivated me. I can't wait to read more of Laurain's works.

Praise praise praise for this most excellent book. Could not put it down and had to finish it before I did put it down. The story is good and the writer has an easy style and has crafted a little gem of a book. I am sorry to be done reading this most enjoyable read.

Interesting characters, not a deep plunge with complex plot, but a pleasurable surface experience of coincidences, authors, book store owners and ultimately love. Understated, and efficient in drawing its characters, Laurain has a lovely, easy style. I highly recommend this simple read.

Lovely artistic and literary adventure into the world of love. Enchanting mystery add just the right touch of doubt and piquing of interest. And what better place than the city of lights and love: Paris!

Le Figaro says the author is a storyteller, and this is a fetching tale. If you love Paris, this book takes you into the minds and hearts of two Parisians who seem destined to meet. Laure is a bit of a mystery - you meet her in the first pages when she is mugged in front of her apartment building and the thief steals her purse. Laurent is a bookseller who finds her mauve bag and tries to solve the mystery of who she is through the contents of her purse. Of course, he finds her beguiling.
One review said fans of the French novel THE ELEGANCE OF THE HEDGEHOG - one of my two favorite novels of the past 25 years - would enjoy this book. Yes, there are some commonalities. Like other readers, I wish this book had been longer. The characters still seemed a tad remote to me. You want to get to know them better. Saw that the rights had been bought to make into a film. It seems a natural for a film. It is pleasant to read something upbeat for a change. It is a fun summer read if you want something light and lovely.

A sweet story. I wanted to just stop everything and read this because I was enchanted by the cleverness and the bit of intrigue.
I will make a point of reading whatever this author writes next. Have enjoyed both of stories I read.

Well written and frankly too short, this book is fantastic. It's a fun, quick read; I enjoyed the book so much that I wish there was more. Great for a day on the beach or on the subway to work this book carries you away to wonderful Paris.
