Le sigh... this book had sooooo much potential! I love reading romance books about a man with such a troubled past, especially involving foster homes, and then he turns his life around through shear grit and determination. I thought I had this at first when Foster was giving guitar lessons to Rhett. Also, sometimes books jumping back and forth from past to present tense really work, but this book just got all sorts of confusing and didn't help build the story line. Clearly Foster and Rose had a whirlwind romance when they were young, but Foster has a REPEATED history of getting close to Rose, then leaving her under the guise he's doing her a solid. I felt like I was reading Groundhog Day. Seriously, how many times did that have to happen? Rose became a complete doormat just waiting for Foster to get his @hit together - AGAIN. I didn't feel any deep connection between them other than sex, which can't be the glue that holds a relationship together. Once Foster learns Rose's news at the end, he literally says, "we're stuck in this mess for the rest of our lives." Ugh, serious buzz kill for me. I've read other books from this author I enjoyed, but why, for the love of all things holy, did he continually write about characters and their lips curling? It was mentioned THIRTY-TWO TIMES! Whattt??? That's NOT what should make a book memorable. Sadly, this book just didn't hit the mark for me. It was terribly redundant, I didn't believe the character relationship, and both dad's were just weird.

Let You Go was a roller coaster of emotions.

Foster and Rose have known each other since they were teens. She fell in love with him the first time she saw him, but Foster was a different story, or at least, he didn't wear his heart on his sleeve the way Rose did. To be honest, the push and pull, run away bs Foster pulled on Rose was a bit much for my tastes. I wanted Rose to end up with someone who really deserved her, and I'm still not sure Foster really deserved Rose. He was so hot and cold with her throughout their entire lives that I wanted to smack him more than once. Sigh...poor Rose.

But, as is Jaxson's trademark, Let You Go is pretty heart tugging and raw. It's absolutely a love story, but it's not a pretty one. Foster is too much of a jerk for it to be pretty. And pretty isn't what I expect, or get, from a Jaxson Kidman story, so if it had been too sweet I probably wouldn't have even liked it. So, although I never fell in love with Foster and hate the way he treated Rose, I still really liked Let You Go. It's emotional, angsty and raw. Another great read from the master of emotional angsty love.

Your heart will ache, it will break and shatter, but in the end, it becomes whole again with a few scars.

Let You Go is the story of Foster and Rose and their relationship made precarious because of Foster’s dad, Kevin. His selfish, deadbeat father cruises in and out of his young life, upending any stability Foster has. Each time Kevin gets hauled off to jail, Foster is thrust into the foster care system, moving from home to home, a hell he’s had to endure growing up. Foster falls in love with Rose but doesn’t admit it at first. How can he lure her into a world of hurt and disappointment that is his life? In spite of a crappy childhood, Foster is loyal and honest and trusting. My heart breaks for Foster and the frustration and sickening desperation he goes through because of his father’s machinations.

Rose, on the other hand, despite falling in love with Foster since high school, has grown into an independent woman whose path leads to marketing a small coffee company. Though content, she misses the only man she has ever loved, Foster.

“He couldn’t let me go. I couldn’t either.”

I admire Rose never giving up on Foster whenever he reappears in her life which happens a few times throughout the book. She’s wanted Foster forever and it’s time to take a risk to be together now that Rose is pregnant. I love the wonderful and satisfying ending with Rose, Foster, and their newly formed family.

Let You Go is not an easy story to read. There is a lot of pain. It twists up your insides and makes your heart break for Rose and Foster. It’s also a well-crafted story filled with heartbreaking emotion, redemption, and second chances. There are a few surprising reveals about what Foster learns about Everett, a young man he teaches guitar in the basement of the coffeehouse where he plays his gigs. I admired Frank, Rose’s father, who was more of a father to Foster than his own dad. Jaxson Kidman seamlessly blends the present and past backstory which added depth and richness to this romance. At the end of the book is the beautiful lyrics of the song Foster writes about Rose. It’s beautiful and reflects everything about their relationship in the story. I highly recommend this book to fans of romance. Great job, Mr. Kidman. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This book was recommended to me. When I asked for the details on it because my TBR was huge, I was just told, "trust me, you will relate." I was skeptical because after reading the blurb. It wasn't that the blurb wasn't enticing but my TBR is HUGE. Yet, this person had never steered me wrong so I moved it up. I can honestly say that they know me well because this book resonated with me on so many levels.

Having been a child that battled many of the same issues in a system that is severely flawed like Foster and Rhett, I too battled the obstacles of living a tumultuous life filled with unanswered questions. It is something that I still do to this day largely because of my tendency to run before showing my emotions. This author did a phenomenal job giving insight into Rhett's mind and showing that sometimes it's hard to believe in unconditional love when you've only been shown love that had conditions from a parent that failed you.

Rose. This sweet girl. She loved with all her heart. She understood Foster and why he behaved the way he did. Foster. That sweet man and all his baggage. He grew so much. Together they are the epitome of kismet.

I highly recommend this story. I was sad that it ended because I just wanted to watch them grow-- all of them; Foster & Rose and Rhett & Carrie.

“You are my dream...,” Rose and Foster were fated. However, life just kept getting in their way. But eventually they realize that there is no perfect time, “there are only moments.”

They met as kids. Rose wanted to be with Foster, but he ran. A criminal father and feelings of not being good enough and dragging Rose down, stopped anything before it started.

But time would come a go and life would bring them back together only to have something tear them apart. Neither had the perfect life. Both suffered great loss. However, whenever they reunited, their love was tangible. It was all consuming. It was tragically beautiful. It never lasted.

They shared a great love, incredibe passion but a father who continually made promises only to break them threw Foster into his own blackhole time and time again. A cycle that needed to be broken to move on.

This story is heart wrenching. It’s soul crushing. It makes your heart bleed for the losses these two suffered. The time they lost together. But a love like theirs could not be stopped. This was a journey. Not an easy one either. But it was worth it to be witness to Foster and Rose finally getting their forever! I loved every word.

Jaxson has done it again! This is an emotional roller coater, and absolute Page tuner.

Foster and Rose are amazing, really hot chemistry and an unbreakable love. Love like theirs rarely exist anymore, but through everything life throws at them they always find their way back to one another. Foster is a good man with rough edges, and still battling from the h*ll his father has always and still puts him through.
As a child of emotional abuse and abandonment I can relate, as well as I lost 3 of my best friends to the system when I was 9 and saw them again when I was 22. No matter who you are, bouncing the system effects you inways that is hard to fix, so I understand Foster running before letting the attachment and bond grow between him and Rose..

To see and understand the beauty of Foster and Rose’s story, grab your coby I’d Let You ago today. I highly recommend this one!!!

I’ve been reading Jaxson Kidman for a while now. I’ve liked every book I’ve read. This book went to an entirely new level.

The writing was excellent, flawlessly smooth. The characterization was deep, honest, and real. Rose was such an unusual combination of independence and yet a woman who never gave up on the man she loved. And Foster was such a dichotomy of bad boy and devoted lover, I’m not sure which man I loved more.

I loved everything about this book. It’s one I’m going to read again and again. I laughed, I cried – more than once – and I fought that bittersweet feeling of being anxious to get to the end and not wanting the book to be over.

If you can only read one book this year, this is the one!

Rose falls in love the moment she sees Foster. Foster falls in love with Rose at the same moment but knows that he does not have a good life. They are on again off again due to the trouble with Foster's dad. Foster has had a rough life with a druggies drunk dad who is in and out of jail, which means Foster is in and out of foster homes. Foster is trying make a living with his music. Rose works for Molly's coffee company, in the marketing side of things. The flashbacks giving us a peak into what happened in the past that affects the present time. This is a great story! Love this Author and cannot wait to read more of his stories!

This book will make you feel everything. You will laugh, then cry, then love the couple, then hate them. This is the definition of an emotional rollercoaster. I, personally, wanted to reach into the pages, grab the characters by the throat and shake some sense into them. In the end, it all works out as it is supposed to, whether you agree or not with choices that were made. This is the first book I have read by Jaxon Kidman, but I will definitely be exploring his other works after this. Any author that can evoke such strong emotions and create such a realistic world with words, is an author that I have to support. Talent like this does not come along very often.

This is a story that will absolutely make you believe in true love. Foster and Rose have been in love since they were kids. Life, assumptions and poor circumstances separated them time and time again. Fate keeps helping them find each other again.
There is every feeling imaginable in Jaxson Kidman’s latest work. As in his stories before, Jaxson does a great job of layering the characters with flaws that make them even more endearing. Even the secondary characters for the story have significant depth and warmth.
I highly recommend this read. If it’s your first read from this author I am confident it won’t be your last.

I found this book just scrolling through the store kindle books and after reading the blurb I knew I had to read it. This story had me captivated from the first page, and I couldn’t put it down. I love that Rose is a strong character who isn’t afraid to put someone in their place but at the same time is compassionate and loyal. Foster is scarred and flawed but still has the biggest heart. Their relationship is complicated and messy but their one goal is for the other to get the life they deserve. Im secretly in love with Frank, just for the record. Overall I just loved this story and I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Wow wow wow. What an incredible story. Rose and foster were teenagers when they met. They fell in love at first sight. Kingsley/foster was a poor kid with a crappy drug addict dad. When his dad was in trouble or in jail foster was in foster homes. That's where his life goes up side down. He has always loved rose and always wanted better for her. He would come in and out of her life until he couldnt anymore. Their love was too strong and fate had other ideas for them. This was definitely a heart wrenching book. Absolutely amazing

I enjoyed reading Rose and Foster. I couldn't put the book down. I loved how they lived in the same town. I wanted to hate Foster but I couldn't. Everything he did, he did so Rose could have that better life and she did. She didn't wait around for him pining away. She continued to move forward but never forgot him just like he never forgot her. I love how Jaxson Kidman puts parts of himself in the stories and shows the past of his characters into the present. I hated how Fosters biological father used both him and Rose especially when she was pregnant. Such a jerk but Rose's father? He was the best and he cared enough about Foster and believed in him. Can't wait to read the next book

A love story. A heartbreaking love story. At times I questioned Rose's unfailing love. I don't think I would have been able to love so unconditionally. Foster has had a life that a lot of foster children would recognize. I had extended family members who were foster parents, and while they weren't physically abusive, I would not wish for any child to live in the circumstances those children had to live in. Foster's life was hell on earth, and, even though he's a fictional character, I loved that he was able to have real love and family in his life.

This story was personal and deep.... You can tell reading that it means the world to the author. The only thing I disliked was the skipping back and forth from past to present so much. I understand that some past was necessary, but felt a lot of it could have been done in glimpses back instead of whole chapters. But then again I didn't write it, or live it. So who am I to say that? It's a great read, not my favorite from Jaxson but still a great book. My heart broke for Foster and Rose throughout this whole book.

I liked the back and forth between the present day and the past. I thought it gave you insight on the characters at the perfect time you needed to hear what had happened. The characters were very developed and had a lot going for them. Foster with all his demons and Rose with all her hope.

When your past is an ever present ghost that seems to continually haunt you at every turn. There is never any rest for the wicked but that presence is your peace, your release, your beacon. Even when it ultimately destroys you inside.

Foster was a kid trying to survive in an adults world but faltering at every turn. A worthless dad, broken dreams, crushed hopes and a yearning that never ceased. His entire life always seemed two steps behind and he ran each time. Ran and evaporated. But he always seemed to find his way back to one girl that stirred his heart, Rose. Yet, he inevitably hurt her every single time.

Rose was the sweet girl that allowed herself to feel things for the local bad boy Foster. She was given a view into his inside world and to a part of him no one else got. But Foster just couldn't give it his all. And Rose accepted what he gave, pain included. Raw, real and devastating.

A simple chance meeting causes feelings to stir again. But they're older, wiser...maybe. When Rose receives a call concerning her father she knows Foster is the only person that can ease her pain. One call, one text, one answer and worlds collide. It was good until it wasn't. Foster doing Foster. Rose tried, Foster ran, but Rose won't be alone for long.

This couple struggled from moment one. Facing issues that seem insurmountable. Supporting characters seemed to charge this story. Foster's father never lacked with crushing Foster's hopes. Rose's father being the protector and negotiator. I felt for Rose always being drawn to Foster. She just couldn't help her heart. Foster, wow, while I felt for his predicament I just felt he never took enough responsibility for his own choices. Again, my opinion, but Foster just didn't want to assume his part in his choices. Rose stood strong and owned what she chose to do. That being said, it shaped the man he became.

Life happens. You hold on tight for the ride. But what happens when someone else lets it go?

Someone gave this 2☆ with an explanation of how the girl didn't respect herself, how she waited, and her father (although involved) didn't offer any guidance. Because this reminded me so much of real life and how someone truly follows their heart at all expense convinced me to purchase this. Truly an awesome love story.

This was a beautifully written story about second chances and taking that leap of faith when it comes to love. The story had me engrossed from start to finish; I found it difficult to even put down.
