I have loved every book Penelope has written, but this is truly amazing. This book really brought out the stuff kids go through, especially today with social media. Ryen and Misha are perfect for each other. I couldn't put the book down, it really is that good. I loved how this book wasn't just about a cute story, but was dark and powerful at the same time. I had no clue that this book would play into Corrupt, so that was an awesome bonus. As always I can't wait to read the next adventure. You freaking rock Pen.

Do yourself a favor and buy this book... I promise you you will not regret it!!!! I've always loved Penelope Douglas' novels but she truly blew my mind with this one. It was sexy, romantic, and melancholy but it truly brought back memories of high school where a girl was too shy and insecure to put herself out there and make friends with the popular crowd. This story hit too close to home and it showed me how teenagers judge themselves by the standards of others. Thank God we only go through adolescence once!!! For those of you who can relate or know someone who can please read this book..... it truly is that outstanding not to mention the love scenes are steaming hot?

I was completely blown away by this book! The two main characters were paired up to be pen pals in elementary school and continued to write each other through junior high and high school, until one day Misha's letters stop coming in. Ryen then meets Masen and he calls her out on her attitude.
Ryen appears to be your typical snotty, stuck-up, mean-girl. There is definitely more to Masen that she could ever imagine.
This book had me on the edge of my seat from page one. This is one of those books that as you reach the end and you realize that it's ending, you are torn between wanting to hurry up and finish it and wanting it to last forever.

Love Miss Penelope and her writing! I don't know how she does it but she always gives us the moat amazing stories!!
Punk 57 is way up there with all her books!!
I fell in love with Misha and Ryen and loved how they knew everything about each other before thet met and were in love with each other then too ... Although it wasn't the fairy tale meeting you would expect. You will have to read the book to find out what happens but you won't be disappointed!!
I also LOVE how she weaved in my 4 favourite boys into this story - totally didn't expect that so an awesome surprise!! Thanks!!

I've waited for this book since Penelope released the blurb and oh boy, does it not disappoint!! I love the complications that Misha and Ryen had to live through to get to each other. I was fascinated by their 7year long friendship and amazed by the fierceness of their love.
The fact that Ryen is not the typical heroine just made it much better!! And the snippets of other well known characters made this book more than perfect.
The twists and turns and the "oh wow" moments were too good to be true! But again, this is Penelope Douglas, and I did not expect anything less from her.
Great job and I definitely need more, much more from the Thunder Bay boys!

I remember the second I found out that Penelope Douglas was working on a new book - I knew I had to read it, and when I read the blurb - I couldn't contain myself, I was so excited. The idea of the book drew me in and I was hooked from the beginning. Penelope created characters that were relatable and true and they stole my heart. The book left me feeling so many different emotions but I don't regret reading it. You may love Punk 57, you may hate it, but what it won't leave you feeling is indifferent. All in all, Punk 57 is a page turner and Penelope Douglas once again proved that she is an amazing writer!

I thought this book had good storyline, good characters. I especially appreciated the main female character being flawed and a bit hard to like for short periods. It made it much more real and gave it depth I appreciated. We all have moments and periods where we aren't our best selves, showing that in a character was a nice change of pace. Anyone who ever felt on the outside will be able to relate to this book. The romance and a few secrets were enough to keep me interested and engaged. Definitely will read more from this author!

The last book I read by Penelope Douglas read like Bully and so did this one. I assume she likes writing these types of characters. I loved the history with Ryen and Misha and their letters. I just was not a fan of reading another book like Bully. I liked the element of wanting to fit in and not really knowing who you are, I think we as girls/women struggle with this our whole lives, not just in grade/high school. I thought the author did a great job of showing that side of Ryen. I highlighted some great stuff. It was not a five-star read for me but I read it in one sitting. For all the things I didn't like, there was more that I did.

This book was fantastic! It made me think about how it was like when I was in school. How kids are so mean to each other, and how mean you could be to others. All the insecurities kids have. I work at a school and I have kids in high school. I see first hand how this could be real life.

I think this is why I loved this book so much. Stuff like this happens in the school world.

I bought this book without even reading the excerpt because I have loved every book by Penelope Douglas and this book was no different. I hated and loved Ryen while simply loving Misha. The story hits every nerve and every single girl whether they want to admit it or not can relate. That's what makes Penelope books great, I can always relate. I love how she made the female lead a "bad guy" in a sense when it's usually always the male characters that become reformed. And this book has a twist that surprised me and I can usually pick out a twist in the book, but this one snuck up on me and I have never felt such hate for a character. I can't say more without spoiling it. Highly recommend this book and every book by Penelope!

As I continue exploring the new adult fiction category, I was very happy to find and read this book. I flew right through this new adult contemporary romance, and stayed up way too late! Although I was a little wary of the high school setting, Douglas made plenty of unique choices that set it apart. Misha and Ryen were not the typical romance characters either, so it was refreshing to see the roots of their relationship and how it develops - from childhood pen pals to hidden identity hate sex, definitely one of a kind! The soundtrack list and Misha's lyrics also made the book appeal to me more. There were a few moments that were a bit unbelievable for me and dimmed the rest of the book's shine (the cliché car wash scene, Ryen owning a vibrator despite having a "super strict mom"), but overall I really enjoyed this book and will keep this author on my radar.

I'm still trying to put this into words. Penelope Douglas did an awesome job.. A lot of it hits close to home. At some point in our lives we have all tried to fit and be someone we are not. Its like a losing battle. A scare roller coaster we all try to make it through. Sometimes we lose ourselves when we try to be something we are not. This book held a lot of emotions. I want to thank Penelope for a book like this. It makes us look at ourselves inside and out. I love both Ryen and Misha. Misha was amazing. Even at times I wanted to scream at Ryen for never stepping up I can understand her need to fit in. I guess you never want to feel like an outsider or feel alone so the only way to react is treating others badly. The book is more than 5 stars. I will be reading it again and again.

Ms. Douglas has done it again. She created such unique, flawed, REAL characters, and I fell in love from page one.

The angst, the passion, the hate, the love, it's all there. Reading this book was like taking a journey back to your gruesome teen years, depending on which character you played in your own story. Every fake smile, every thinly veiled insult, every seedy innuendo from the class perv, every petty comment from a mean girl...the characters all come to life in the most vivid and realistic portrayal of what many of our high school experiences were actually like.

The back story is original and gripping. You find yourself so involved in the two main characters' struggles to understand each other as well as themselves. Douglas is not afraid to show the good, the bad, and the raunchy. Loved every word.

This story line between Misha and Ryen is one that I have been dying to read every since Penelope Douglas said she thought of it. I was so intrigued by the relationship and the idea of two kids being set up as pen pals by their teachers, Staying friends and ending up becoming soulmates especially after everything that they go through through life without ever meeting the book was death to everything I imagined it would be plus more and needless to say I couldn't put it down I read the whole thing today amazing job Penelope Douglas amazing and I love the characters I love the story
Great job

Well this was unexpected. There were answers jumping out at you straight through to the very last chapter. Ryen is a mean girl, but not really? It's a little weird. Misha is her pen pal of 7 years and they've never met. I freaking loved following their story. It was hard, it was real life.. kind of. Real truths that many of us have dealt with. It was a fabulous read!

Penelope Douglas is one of my favorite writers. She has such a talent for writing angst filled, passionate chemistry between such well developed characters that you get goose bumps while reading her stories. This one was no exception. I could feel every moment of the book as if it were me, but wait . . . this book has even more. It deals with self esteem, self respect, respecting others and what happens to not only your own personality when you elevate yourself through bullying but what happens to those you stomp in in the process. It really makes you think and not too many books do that as well as this one does while entertaining you. I would highly recommend this book!!!!!

I went into this completely blind. I knew I wanted to read a Douglas book so I figured I give this one a try. Mischa was such a complex character. He had some issues he needed to work through. He kept the book interesting for sure. Ryen got on my nerves but I had to remember her age. The bullying was hard for me to read. I am glad it all worked out.

This was a different book from this author, but it was so so good. I don't want to say too much because you definitely want to go into this book pretty much blind. I loved the way Ryen was wrote. She was not the best person on the outside, but she was completely different on the inside. I think everyone feels like she did at one point in their lives, maybe some more than others. The author makes you stop and think throughout the entire book. I really enjoyed reading Ryen and Mishas story. It felt true, it felt real. I really want more of Ten and Manny.

What I liked: the storyline is amazing. The characters even better. There were so many funny parts. Such a page Turner this one. I enjoyed it.
What I didn't like: when ryen and misha would conversation a lot the author made it hard to follow who said what. I had to re-read the conversation bc it wasn't clear. It's a small thing but they dialog a lot so it got to me.

What I loved: they start the story form the guys (misha) pov and so it's not all about the girl the whole time. His character really contributed to making this book amazing.

I love the way Penelope Douglas writes her characters and their story, Punk 57 was extremely moving for me.... Misha and Ryen form a relationship as grade school pen pals which leads to meeting as adults after horrific life altering experience for Misha. Their story takes you on a life experiencing journey from selfish insecure young adults into a world of maturing young adults that is one of life's greatest journeys, which we've all had the experience in our lifes of learning. Penelope gives us that story ten fold with Punk 57!

Wow! I'm totally blown away by how incredibly amazing this book was! I am not embarrassed to admit that I was ugly crying while reading this. I highlighted more in this book than any other book I've read. This book took me back to high school - to the things I hated so much about being a teenager, to things I regret and the things I wish I did differently. I understood Ryen more than I want to admit. I adored Misha, he was a wonderful character. I loved this book so much! It's a top pick of 2016 and I can't wait to re-read it!

Angsty, tension-filled entertainment!! I loved the exploration of deeper issues, high school clique wars, and the heat, heart, and shenanigans of the couple!! I'm so glad I finally got to read it!!

I liked the message that came through in this story, but it took a very long time to get there. I enjoyed the twists and secrets and most of the characters. I thought the sex was WAY over the top for high schoolers! I know it's been a long time since I've been in high school, but these characters should have been in their mid-to-late 20's with the confidence and the sexual situations they were in. I was almost cringing because of their ages! However, the rest of the story was awesome and I enjoyed the read.

I originally found this book through Audible and I knew just from reading the synopsis it was going to be too good just to listen to, I needed to actually read it. It is the type of book that I go between never wanting to put it down, to it being so intense that I have to take a break.
I loved the story line, the characters and the ride it takes you on. You are going to be angry, sad, happy, lustful and teary eyed; from both happiness and heartache.
Please read this book.

This is probably the most realistic romance between two teens I have ever read. Our leads were not perfect, but they were perfectly imperfect. I loved everything about them, the fire, ice, the jolts of electricity. A journey of fear, acceptance, love and hate Punk 57 is the best of the best. I recommend this read to everyone! This makes my list of top 5 fave books for sure.

Like many books recently...this is one that has fallen flat with me. Although, this did give you an insight to the world of bullying, but could of been better planned out and let's be honest-realistic. Ryan's thought process and logic had me wanting to pull my hair out. Misha had great potential ,but he's alter ego gave me whip lash sometimes. Just wasn't my cup of tea.

Misha and Ryen! Wow! Penelope Douglas has done it again with this masterpiece, I could not put it down I love love love the fact that she writes guys who are not always the "Knight in Shinning Armor" type, more like the dark and dangerous guys hiding in the shadows lurking and pushing all the right buttons to get you going. Amazing book as always from her cannot wait to see what's next from this author.

This book was the perfect recipe for that perfect book:
It had a dash of Angst
A pinch of Hate
And a Heaping cup of Love

There is just something about Penelope Douglas and the way she combines words that just make you feel. It might not always start out being a nice warm feeling, but she will definitely get you there in the end. She'll take you on a journey you won't want to miss.

For an added bonus she includes track list's for all her books. If you play the song while reading the chapter it appears in, you'll definitely be transported right into the story. The visual effect is that much greater!

Definitely grab a copy, or any Penelope Douglas book, you won't be disappointed!

Overall this book was enjoyable but there were parts that I felt were unnecessary & overdone. I was surprised to find out why Misha went to Ryens school but other than that it was a pretty predictable story and I suppose even after I found out why he went to her school if I look back I can see it coming - I guess I was just too wrapped up in the story of Misha & Ryen to notice. I would recommend this book to individuals who enjoy this genre.

It follows the classic recipe of Penelope Douglas books. Damaged characters, great sex scenes, angst etc etc. But hey! If it ain't broken right? Cause this book is as good as the rest of her books. I loved the characters, the plot, the ending... everything.
Funny thing, I think ANY of Penelope Douglas books would be an amazing romantic movie.

Loved this book! It had pretty much everything I enjoy in a book. Humor, the feels (both good and bad,) the romance, the mystery (not of the Who-Dun-It variety,) interesting characters (including the evil villians,) and a fantastic story line that brings it all together. There are a few surprising moments, and spoiler alert... it has a happy ending. There are some sex scenes and language making it unsuitable for younger readers.

There is just something extraordinary about the way Penelope Douglas tells a story. She is just so freaking talented. This story is bold yet genuine. The characters make mistakes and grow in a fluid and honest way. Misha is sexy, but real. Ryen is both perfect and broken. Penelope is literally the queen of the love hate relationship and this novel is no exception. It was such an intense yet enjoyable read. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

This book challenged me in the best ways. We tend to forget that it isn't how other's view us but how we view ourselves. Misha and Ryen have been pen pals since the 5th grade. They forged a strong bond. When life gets hard they know they are always a letter away. When tragedy strikes Misha who goes undercover to find some truths. The biggest truth he discovers is maybe, Ryen wasn't who he thought she was. I loved everything about this book.

I really enjoyed this story, and found it engaging exercising your whole range of emotions! I loved the little twists in the story, and really enjoyed the character development. I also enjoyed the fact that the characters were flawed, and down to earth, making them more relatable. Definitely a good read, and I woild recommend this to anyone wanting something more than just another shallow teen angst and lust fest.
