This book was absolutely wonderful. I stayed up all night reading it because I couldn't put it down. It was emotional and funny. I even cried a few times. Kleypas did a wonderful job letting the characters grow into the people they wanted/needed to be. I recommend this book to everyone.

Wonderful, great, can't wait for the next book! This is the first time I have read this author and it won't be the last. Have now read the other books in this series, and they are just as fantastic. So nice to find a new author for me to read.

i really enjoy the series romances, and this one did not disappoint. The ghost took an added depth to the story line that I really enjoyed. The only complaint is the ending seemed a bit disjointed even while wrapping up the loose ends.
It Happened One Autumn: The Wallflowers, Book 2 :: Where Dreams Begin :: Love in the Afternoon (Hathaways, Book 5) :: Literature: Reading, Reacting, Writing :: Rainshadow Road: A Novel (Friday Harbor)

Great read, as always, with this author. Writes excellent, emotional sex and gives characters flaws as well as successes. Enhances the mundane so it's relatible to us ordinary readers. Will look forward to the sequel!

I especially enjoyed how the author seemed to involve me in the story. I found it interesting to go along with the characters on the journey of discovery as to why they were there. A lovely love story.

Another great book from Lisa Kleypas! I loved it. I have always loved when books have sequels so that you can hear more about previous characters but this book did that in a different way by overlapping the previous book and introducing a new story with the ghost. It was really fabulous.

I think Dream Lake is a beautiful addition to the Friday Habor series! I was amazed by the magical way she writes about food!! I wanted to try everything Zoe Hoffman cooked!! I fell in love with the characters and their histories! Great book! Lisa Kleypas has done it again!

This was a great story... my favorite so far. Alex and the ghost were my favorite part. I only wished Mrs. Kleypas had developed more what Alex was going through as he recovered from his addiction and how Zoe helped him learn to open up to people. Or was it the ghost? It was a very cute story....I Still think that some of her historicals are better though. BUY IT!

This was the best book in the Friday Harbor series, at first I was allittle puzzled because she entered a ghost into the book. But it keeps you guessing who this ghost is. Loved it, can-not wait until the next book!!!

Ms. Kleypas' new venture into romantic fantasy or paranormal is entrancing, I've enjoyed all of these books, the little touches of magic that each character has is wonderful, just enough to make them normal but different. Zoe Hoffman is the kind of woman everyone knows, a wonderful chef, with a personality that makes a visit with her a pleasure, but her appearance makes her a magnet for men and women don't usually want to be around her. Zoe's marriage is over and she doesn't want to take a chance again.

Zoe has met Alex Nolan previously, he wasn't complimentary about her apperance but Zoe is used to men reacting that way and just ignores him. But Zoe needs Alex to renovate a house she and her grandmother will be moving into. Alex is the youngest of the Nolan brothers, his wife has just filed for divorce and in addition a housing project he invested in has fallen through due to the economy. Alex decides he may as well drink his way through his troubles. But there is something that stops him from completely losing himself, he meets a ghost - a ghost who doesn't know who he is or why he's attached himself to Alex.

I loved this story, I think it was actually the best of the series. The storyline includes Alex and Zoe and the ghost and his story. Along with updates on his brothers and their new wives.

It's great when your favorite authors try something new, I know that sometimes it doesn't work, but when it does, you have the pleasure of diecovering something new about them and about yourself. Thank you Lisa!

Lisa Kleypas continually delivers great romances. The Friday Harbor saga is very well written and she brings her characters to life. The supernatural aspects of the stories are woven with such finesse that they enhance rather than detract from the whole and this is especially true in Dream Lake.

This was wholly Alexs story. Zoe, an enormous influence. Her presence affected the story all along. Oh what a different story it would have been without her. But it is his story. Different, special, magical and heart breaking. Calling all romantics, you will want to read this story. As always, highly recommended and 5 stars for Lisa Kleypas.

I was really looking forward to this book the moment I met Alex's character in the first two Friday Harbor books. His character is so tormented and yet so strong, I knew I'd love him. Then add Zoe and she is just what he needed. Both of them give us quite a ride of love, pain and wonder.

Lisa Kleypas has not once let me down in her writing and I love her for it.

Lisa Kleypas delivers another great book in the Friday Harbor series. Alex Nolan comes from a disfunctional family and struggles with his own drinking issues. Zoe Hoffman is a beautiful chef whose broken marriage makes it hard for her to trust again. Her delicious culinary creations work their magic to help soften Alex's hardened spirit as Alex works to solve the mystery the very real spirit that haunts him, as well as the mystery of his feelings for Zoe. Great characters that touch your heart!

Where is Lisa's well crafted prose and descriptions?
Where's the witty dialogue?
Where's the sense of humor that leaves you laughing quietly to yourself long after you've closed the book?
Where's the intensity of feeling?
I'll go reread the Hathaways, the Wallflowers or the Travises.
