I have just finished reading Pierce's The Realms of the Gods, and I greatly enjoyed it as much as I did all the other books in the series. This may be due to the fact that for as long as I can remember, I have always loved animals, both real and imaginary, and entertained thoughtts of being able to speak with and become them. It was the titles of this series that first caught my eye as I was browsing the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section of a bookstore, so I bought the first one, Wild Magic. After that, I was hooked, and felt the need to read the rest. I like the writing style, easy and humorous, without leaving out anything important. And, in contrast to many books I've read, I liked the main characters, as well as many of the others. I like the adventurous and heroic, and very human spirits of the characters, each with their own faults, but still good despite that. I felt that I could identify a bit with each of them, especially the pivotal character, Daine. Since I "discovered" the fantasy genre about 4 years ago, when I was a high school freshman, I have read dozens upon dozens of books in the field, and I have to say that Pierce's books are among my favorites, and have a place of honor on the sagging shelves of my bedroom. I hope that Pierce continues to write wonderful books. The only thing this high school graduate and lover of art and writing ( 2 things I do myself) wonders is : now that Pierce has already written this series, what does that leave me to write about? :)

I was SO looking forward to the ending of this series, but so many things didn't mesh with me. The story seemed like Daine and NUmair were simply sick of their jobs and ready for everything to end. The fire seemed to just go right out of this book! I also cannot give it a lower score, because the battle with Orozone was pretty cool and the darkings were totally interesting, but TOTALLY unreal, how can you say all of Orozones creatures will turn! Not one of them is bad? And this book was also a bit more preachy than the others. "They cannot go against their natures, so who are we to judge" just kinda cliche! I also DON'T believe the romance between Numair and Daine! I thought they would get togehter, but then the way they DO is appalling! Seriously, you are head over heals in love and still cannot imagine talking seriously to your mother about an easy promise you made to her. If you really were in love it would have been no question where you would have wanted to stay! I just really expected more from this book! I wish she had just kept the fire going a little longer! maybe she was having a bad writing time, I am sure it would happen to the best of us!

Now this has to be the best book I have ever read since the first one I read, which is called <duh> Wild Magic. When I read about the part when Numair frees Daine from those spidrens, I just wanted to yell and roar and sing my head off when those two finally kissed. It's just so obvious when you read about the hints in books 1 through 3. I read that part over and over again: I never got tired of it: until I got to the part when they were in Port Legann. Now that one was an eye opener. Hunger and desperation-huh, any longer and they would have ended up on the ground if it wasn't for Diamondflame's little interruption. Then it started to get boring again until I got to the part about Rikash's death <Man, I liked him, even if he was a Stormwing> Then when I read about Ozorne's or should I say Ozone's death, I felt like cheering. Uusoae was a total fool. She is no more powerful than her brothers and sisters and yet a young woman named Daine defeated her. When I finally read the blasted ending<I DON'T SKIP PAGES PEOPLE> I was pretty much into gasping for breath after I finished laughing so hard. When I read that part about Numair asking her to marry him, I was happy with what I got. But that leaves a BIG question on my mind: Will they ever get married? One more thing about Emperor Mage-give me a break about that Emperor Mage come on, he's no mage, but a weakling and a fool- and Varice? What a puffball!

I recently listened to all four of the Immortals series and I really love the full cast recording, it really puts the other Tamora Pierce audiobooks to shame. While I like the Protector of the Small and Lioness quartets better as far as story goes, the Immortals series is a great listen! HOWEVER Before you pay for this audiobook or spend one of your precious audible credits on it, consider going to listen to it on Spotify instead. You'll save quite a lot of money and can listen to all four books. All of Tamora Pierce's Full Cast Audio recorded books are free to listen to. Save your money to listen to her other series which are not free. :)

Daine is a 16 year old girl who lives in a world much different than ours. She has wild magic, which allows her to talk to animals, shape shift into animals, heal them, and in some cases, bring their bones back to life. King Jonathan III and Queen Thayet need all the help they can get from Daine, Numair, and all their friends to help them win the war against Carthak, the Copper Islands, and most of the Immortals.
Daine and Numair go to try and fight a new kind of Immortal, when out of no where, a giant hand comes down and lifts her and Numair, up into the Realms of the Gods. Daine and Numair wanted to go back to Tortall, but the lesser Gods could only take people back and forth from the realms during the solstices, equinoxes, and Midsummer's Day. The Great Gods were having problems of their own, fighting Uusoae the Queen of Chaos. The only choice they had left was to walk through the Divine Realms to the Dragonlands, and beg the Dragons to take them down into the mortal realms.
I would recommend this book. It is pack full of adventure, romance, magic, and new creatures. If you like animals and magical creatures, you'll love the way Daine can relate to animals, even become them! Daine is an appealing heroine who helps you to adapt to the new world this book pulls you into! I hope everyone gets a chance to read this delightful book!!!!

The Realms of the Gods is book four in the Immortals quartet by Tamora Pierce, and Daine and Numair are in trouble again.
In a desperate fight with the Skinless, Daine and Numair are pulled over the veil to the realms of the gods by Daine's minor god parents in an effort to protect her. She and Numair want to get back to their own world, but they're going to have to travel the entire way across the realms of the gods to the dragon realms and hope they can get help.
As the last book in the series, this one ties up a few loose ends between Daine and Numair, Daine and Kitten, and the realm of Tortall in general. We really see Daine grow up a bit, but remember that this is a YA novel!

In short, there was too much romance (Numair is WAY too old for Daine, although I like to pretend he's actually young and only looks old). I loved the dragons, though. Inter-dimensional travel, finding out what really happened to Daine's ma and da, Daine going all wildcat at the stormwing emperor (literally).
Oh, and kitten! (You know, the baby dragon Daine has been raising? Yeah, she's awesome, too.)

Tamora Pierce is my all-time favorite author... and that takes a lot. With all the books I read, it is hard to chose a favorite, but Tamora Pierce takes the cake. How the books can get less than five stars will continue to amaze me.
I have read, reread, and reread these books. I even have some parts memorized! The Realms of the Gods ends a fasinating series about an amazing girl named Daine who has a rare kind of magic that ivolves animals. Her tall and powerful teacher, the mage Numair, gets sucked into the realms of the gods with Daine, where she learns a little about her past, her enemy, her teacher, and even about her heart. Back in Tortall (current residence of Daine), there is a huge war taking place... Daine and Numair are needed... so they set out on the perilous journey packed full of surprises...
I can't say any more-- I might give it away! Oh well, but anyway- read to find out more. I have continually marveled at these books. And her other books. Read any of them-- it's all good. she is in the middle of two series right now, but my preference is the Protector of the Small books. They are about a girl named Kel who wants to be a knight. I will keep on rereading the first two books until June, when the third book Squire comes out.
Happy reading!

In the Realm of the Gods 16-year-old Daine, who has been blessed with an unusually large amount of Wild Magic, and her companion, the powerful mage Numair, are pulled into the mysterious Realm of the Gods by Daine's mother to save their lives. But once they get there they know they need to leave as soon as possible. Tortall is under attack by the ex-emperor Ozorne and his army of evil immortals. Daine wants the gods to help them but their busy with their own fight against the Chaos who is feeding off of the carnage in the Immortals war. Daine and Numair must leave the realm of the gods, a very difficult process that they may not survive. And what will Tortall be like when they return?
Although The Realm of the Gods is probably my least favorite book in the Immortals series, it's still a thrilling fantasy story that I would recommend to fans of Tamora Pierce. The Immortals is probably one of my favorite quartets written by Tamora Pierce and each novel is a thrill. The stunning character development of Daine and the budding romance makes is a memorable series. I recommend this series to fans of fantasy for all ages. The only bad thing about me finishing this book is now I have to wait like everyone else before I can read a new Tamora Pierce book.

I first started reading Wild Magic, and as another reveiwer put it, I got "addicted" to Tamora Pierce. Her books are like the best books in the whole world.
The blossoming romance between Diane and Numair really gives a sence of humanity and depth in the book which it otherwise would not have had. Tamora Pierce developes a great plot that leaves you wishing for more, and at the same time you are also satisfied.
I wish that Rikash hadn't died, because he was a nice reminder that not all things that you think are bad are actually bad.
Tamora Pierce also allows you to confuse the books within a series with each other, which I think is the mark of a good writer. She uses continuity throughout the series, so if I say something that belongs in another book, sorry.
Again, I thought that the romance between Diane and Numair was one of the best things that she could have done, because the plot is a litte less humanity oriented than the other books in the series.
If I am discouraging anyone from buying this book, I don't mean to, so just in case I am, you really should buy this book. It is a great conlusion to the end of the series, but it is also a really great book by itself.

I become obsessed with this series practically overnight, flying through the books as fast as I could only to smash into a solid brick wall, instantly cut off from the world I have been so deeply a part of. I totally disagree with anyone who says this was a satisfying conclusion to the Immortals. What was there was great (5 stars) but it was what WASN'T there that upset me; the book ended, left me hanging at a place when an answer to a question could change the lives of the main characters for ever. The world of Daine, Numair, and their companions is so thrilling, so indescribably wonderful that when I find I can't join them and make Tortall my home (and I know I'd fit in so much better there than in this uncomfortably routine 21st century world) I settle with the ability to dive into the life of Daine. It hurts to be cut off from this life. I NEED Tamora Pierce to open that window again and let obsessed fans like me continue to follow the girl with wild magic until she dies (and after what she's lived through I know it won't be soon. I doubt I'm alone in feeling that the end of great adventures and a hope for the future are not enough, not this time. Her world is too facinating to let go of.

Well, what can I say? I knew right from the start that Daine and Numair's relationship would end in romance! I've waited for this. TRIUMPH!
This is a great series, although not quite going up to the level Alanna is on. Daine is a funny, and realistic character who anyone could relate to. In the third book I was starting to get bored. This book is more exciting, although I don't like that Daine and Numair are in a strange world the whole time (part of the problem with the third book)
I was surprised at how Pierce formed the romance in this one. Daine and Numair's relationship is a lot hotter and spicier than any of the relationships in her other books. Which is good.
The book answers virtually all questions about Daine's past. I like this book, but I half to say I was somewhat dissapointed by the second, third and fourth books. The beginning was amazing, and I believe the series had the potential to be a lot better. All the added Immortals were a bit over-the-top. Of course, you must remember that I'm speaking on Tamora Pierce's impossibly high standards. These are really great books, they just weren't Pierce's absoloute best.

I had high expectations for this book-the other three were wonderful, so I hoped it would be really good.
In some was it was-it was really great. I loved the dragons, I've loved all of Tamora's dragons-they all sounded beautiful.Lets see...I did like the end-it was a good ending, and when its a good ending, it makes the book better.
I was hoping that Daine and Numair would fall in love-but I didn't exactly like the way that Tamora went about doing it. Why does Daine start being so stupid in front of Numair? I never thought she was like that-she practically is stripping! And he is not taking advantage of her at all-he doesn't want her to do that-SHE, if anyone, is taking advantage of him.I really diliked that part. And why do they kiss so much? Kiss after kiss after kiss after kiss...it gets really...I dunno, stupid I guess after awhile. I thought she should have put them in less-kisses loose something when they're "all-the-time".
The darking were kinda annoying at first, but then they got kinda cute-I really liked QueenClaw-she's a great cat goddess.
All in all-a good story-but it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. But it was okay.

This book was most definately the greatest in the entire world. What else could you say about it? The scenery seemed very real to me and I liked how Daine finally got to meet her dad. That was sooo sweet!! My only complaint? Her mother Sarra. Did anyone else get the impression of whiney, overprotective, overbearing, cant take care of herself, Mommy? I most certainly did. I was glad when they left there. It gave Daine and Numair a chance to be alone. They are so good together. And(this should make all you complainers feel better) in the new Tortall series that Tamora's writing, we find out just a little more about them. I haven't read it yet but I have high hopes. Why not? But I'm wondering about something. How in Mithros's name did they tell everyone? I sit awake at night wondering about that. I have a wide picture of Varice Kingsford feinting, Baron George grinning, and Onua and Alanna saying," Really? Are you quite sure?" I thought this book was the best in the Immortals series, and I'm hoping that we hear at least a little more about Daine and Numair in the future.

In this last book of The Immortals series, Daine and Numair are transported to the Realms of the Gods, where Daine meets her mother, the badger, and, finally, her father. However, Daine and Numair's hearts lie in Tortall, and since Sarah cannot bring them back to their beloved homeland, they must find a way to go back and the only way to do that is by asking the dragons to bring them.
Down below, war has erupted in Tortall: a war that will be known through history as The Immortals war. Daine and Numair are getting more and more anxious as time flies by because they must head back in order to try to save Tortall.
The last adventure is just, if not more, suspensful than the rest, and the unexpected budding romance between Daine and Numair makes the reader want to keep on turning the pages in order to find out what happens.
Though the series ends quite abprutly, fans of Daine and the mage Numair will be glad to find that these two lovers have a minor, yet nonetheless present role in Tamora Pierce's next series, Protector of the Small.

Let me start out by saying how much I loved Wild Magic and Wolf-Speaker. Well, I loved them! But when I got to Emperor Mage, I thought that it lacked the spark of the previous novels, though it was still quite good. And when I got this book, I just...almost threw it across the room.(Not that I would ever, ever do that to a book.) It disappointed me very thoroughly. I thought that the story between Numair and Daine was ridiculus, though I can't get too mad because, as long as they loved each other...It disgusted me when all they talked about was how great, wonderful, and perfect Daine was. There are other characters, you know! It especially infuriated me in the new series Protector of the Small(which is a very, very good series) they mentioned Daine as the Wildmage, and they only talked about her when they talked about the War(which does make some sense, now that I think about it, because she can talk to the animals, and can talk to the Immortals better...), but she didn't win the war by herself! Grr...For all the readers out there who loved the book and are gasping in fury at me(I know there are some), please remember that this is my opinion of this book. If you don't want to listen to my opinion, that's just fine. I just don't want people to blow up at me...Well...I guess I have mixed emotions about this book, and whenever I see something that irritates me, I try to see it from both sides, but some are just infuriating. This is a weird and jumbled review, I know. Sorry. :P

This book is the best book I've ever read in my entire life! (Well, at least one of the best books!) And not just the book, but the whole quartet! With all the talking to animals and little Kitten, this book was impossible to put down! The ONLY thing I thought was a LITTLE boring was the part with the chess game and all those strange dreams, I thought those were kinda useless. And I thought the romance between Daine and Numair was suprising, I've always thought of Numair as kinda of a fatherly guy that looks out for her, but as I read the book over and over and thought about it, its easy to see they're the perfect couple. This is a great series for anyone that likes adventure, romance, and all that good stuff! BUT you have to read the quartet in order cause I tried to read Wolf Speaker first and I was confused. And also, the Circle of Magic Quartet, Tamora's newest, ROCKS it is one of my favorites, you have to read it!!

Don't get me wrong, I loved this book, and I absolutely devoured the parts about Daine and Numair. The beginning was good, and the ending was more than I could have hoped for, but it's most of the middle that stops me from giving the book 5 stars. I mean, after all that hype about the mystery of Daine's father, meeting Weiryn was sort of a let-down. After all these years Daine finds out her father is a god and she discovers this while actually being in the Divine Realms, but nothing really happens with it. Weiryn is sort of an anti-climax. And Uusosae was a really cool idea, but otherwise the Divine Realms (except for the glimpses of Numair's true feelings) are sort of unfocused, and you think, "what's the point?" I kind of thought Daine's dreams, sent by the gods, were boring and took away from the action. But still. All of that is overruled by the fabulous ending . . . it's very, very, worth it.

Daine is now a young lady and is still Numair Salamin's student. While Daine and Numair are in a battle with a new immortal called a skinner they're swept away into the Divine Realms where gods and immortals live. In this place Daine see's somebody she hasn't seen in years and meets someone new that she wished she'd seen before.
While they are happy not to be dead they know that they are needed down in the mortal world where Ozorne and his creatures are coming against Tortall. They need to find help and get out of the Divine Realms before it's too late for Daine knows that Tortall's fate rests in her hands.
In this book you'll find Romance too! Which is something a lot of people will enjoy. If you've been reading the series you'll probably know who Daine's going to fall in love with but you'll still be excited. This is a wonderous book so read 'THE REALMS OF THE GODS'!

My favorite type of stories are fantasy and I think Tamora Pierce has done a great job writing them. She is my favorite author (of course) and this book is my favorite book of all times.
To summarize it, Daine and Numair are trying to escape being killed when Daine's parents (who are now both gods) rescues both of them and bring them to the realm of the gods. There they learn about the war between the Great Gods and Uusoae (I'm not sure if that's spelled correctly or not), the goddess of Chaos. They embark on a journey to Dragonland to ask the dragons to help Tortall win the war against the Copper Isles, Carthaki rebels, and the Yamanis.
On the way there, they are accompanied by the badger god and the duckmole god. Both have to leave them for different reasons, though, so Daine and Numair travel only with each other. Daine gets trapped in a spidren web, and Numair rescues her...

Concerning the age difference between Daine and Numair, remember that this story takes place in medieval-like times.
Throughout history, it has been typical for adult men to marry girls who have just reached puberty. It wasn't sicko. In those times, it made good sense. A woman's job was to have babies and keep house. She could do those things at 13. A man's job was to provide for the family. He could do that better if he was older. Practicality mattered more than romance. Of course, Pierce's heroines are wonderful role models for modern girls.
Like other readers, I would like to see more of their relationship. There isn't enough in the (wonderful) Protector of the Small series. Maybe there will be more books.
I am pleasantly surprised that prudes have not complained about Daine been nude throughout so much of the book.

I loved this book so much, I sleep with it under my pillow. I couldn't put it down to the point where I walked into a wall while I was TRYING to read it. I started reading the Song of the Lioness quaret in the hospital when I was 9. Little brother got me in the ribs with a golf club... long story. Anyway, it was a little bit too heavy material for a 9-year-old, but I was instantly hooked, and when I found the Immortals, I was extatic. Man I loved those books.
I finished the Emperor Mage book, and read the sneak preveiw on the Realms of the Gods, and was counting the days until it came out. When I got my hands on it in the school library, I read through it like lighting to that part when they kissed. Sigh. I read that part so many times that it's falling apart. MS. PIERCE, PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER BOOK WITH DAINE AND NUMAIR IN IT!
Ahem... That is all.
Love from me ^_^

And that says something. Everyone's alreay described what this is about, so I won't.
I really enjoyed this book. I personally felt it wrapped everything up pretty well. You hear from almost everybody, (Except Maura and the Long Lake Pack, unfortunatly) and any development that needed to be done was done. I knew that Daine and Numair would be the only couple that worked, but I was wondering after Emperor Mage how it would work - that was quite an age difference to work around. Personally, I thought it was pulled off well - the character's brought the age problem up themselves! Whoo! And I thought it was also done remaining true to the character's personalities. That was important, too.
All in all, it was a well done ending to the story. I highly recommend it - it is a great fantasy for animal lovers, and for people who like romance. (You won't find so much in the other Immortal books. I think that's why THIS one had so much. :P)

This is one of the most awesome books I have ever read. Ms. Pierce transports her readers back to the magical land of Tortall for her best adventure to date. This book is the conclusion of the heroine Daine's adventures. "Realms of the Gods" is a satisying read for everyone who already loves Ms. Pierce's characters and for those who have not yet experienced the joy of being transported to the worlds in Ms. Pierce's books. This latest installment has Daine battling Ozorne and his Immortal allies, Daine also meets her father, finally. Readers will be happy to read about old friends and to meet some new, endearing ones. The greatest part to me was Daine's encouters with the Dragons and her blossoming romance with Numair. I recommend this terrific book to EVERYONE

I LOVED THAT BOOK! I thought that it was the best book in the whole series, and I was depressed to see it end. (Really. I went through a whole bag of chips getting over it!) It was about time Numair and Daine got together. I sort of saw it comming, but it's amazing how great wizards and scholars (NUMAIR! ) can't see what's in front of their noses untill it knocks them one in the face. Or untill they almost loose that person. I liked the dragons, too. They're just how I think dragons are: almost human, but a whole lot smarter. There was a lot of blood and guts in some parts, and the descriptions of Uusao made my skin crawl. And you get to meet Daines mom and dad, who you only hear about throught the rest of the series. All in all, that book was brilliant. ^_^

This is the final story in Daine's quartet, and Tamora Pierce could not have written a better one. Not only is Tortall under attack from dangerous enemies, but the very gods themselves are too, revealing a more dangerous plan than either Daine or Numair have ever realised. There are moments of tension and moments of laughs, all very much contrasting nicely with a great pace. I loved both the darklings and the dragons who were masterfully done. And the very last paragraph, in fact the very last sentice has had such an impact on my understaing of the human condition and I still know it to this very day. Read this one, and you too will know what I mean, for this book offers both insight and a highly enjoyable read. Tamora Pierce has to be one of the best authors out there, and in RotG, her talent really shines.

Excellent book. I was really knind of sad when i finished it because I knew I would never find a better series than this. In this exciting conclusion of the Immortals Series, Daine and Numair are saved from death when they are whisked into the Divine Realms by Daine's mother, who has become a god. In the Divine Realms, Daine meets several new animal friends and her father. But she and Numair must find a way out of the Divine Realms, so they can help with the war in Tortall. They must make a difficult and dangerous journey to the Dragonlands to ask the Dragons to take them home. On the way, they both discover their love for each other. This book is absolutely impossible to put down. Tamora Pierce makes you wish you could just keep reading forever.

I thought that this book was unncessary, as it answered the questions that we already knew the answer to. All that it accomplished was to get Numair and Daine together, a couple I didn't agree with anyway. Imagine how YOU would feel if your author married you to an uncle-figure. Think Mary K. Laterno. In my opinion, she should have married someone ELSE (ANYONE else). Evan or Kaddar are examples of more eligible bachelors. No plot. No character development. Meeting Weirin was a sort of let down, since nothing really happened. Characters were rather static throughout the book, especially compared to her other books. I did, however, really enjoy the dragons. As far as I'm concerned, this book was unncessary. It could have ended more satifactorily with Emperor Mage. No hate-mail, please.

When I started reading the Immortals Series, I thought WILD MAGIC was the best it could be. As I continued read the other books in the series, I marvled at the same greatness and perfection. Then I read REALMS OF THE GODS and it totally blew me away. It will take your breatth away. Daine and Numair get stuck in the mysterious realms of the gods. They must make the perilous journey to get back to Tortall, where a desparate war is taking place and the duo is needed if there is any hope of winning. Things aren't as easy as it might sound... Look- please trust me-- these books are all that and a bag of chips! Tamora Pierce is not some JV author. In order to really read, you have to read her stuff. Take my word on it.

My teacher knew how much i loved Alanna, and she just loved "The Immortals" so she finally got me to read it. At first it wasn't what I expected then when she started talking about characters from the previous series I was all into it I couldn't put it down it was great! I thought that the last book was the best I didn't want it to end so Ms. Pierce if you ever read this I think you need to write another series about Daine,Numair,And Alanna. Here's a suggestion why don't you write about King Jonathon & Alanna & (*hint*hint*) Daine and Numair's kids. Oh well I REALLY suggest that you read "The Lioness Rampent" series, to me that was the best! Bye to all!

In this book Daine has to find and destroy the skinners, but in doing so, she endangers her life, badly. So badly that her parents, and the badger god, have to pull her into the realms of the gods. There she finds out who her dad is and what her mother has become. Then she has to find a way to get back to the human realms. She goes to the Dragonlands for help, and Skysong's grandfather ends up doing the job. The get back safely and... Well I don't want to give away the ending. But this was a pretty good book, but honestly, just a bit obvious. Sure she developes a relationship(with whom I am not telling), But I saw that from the first book. And sure, she finds out who her dad is, and wha her mom is, and sure, she kills...some one(I'm not telling that either), but I saw that long ago. I think that no series is worth reading if you don't finish it, but this is still not my absolute favorite. (personally, I think that Wild Magic was the best.)I guess I could say that I've read better, and I've read much worse.

This book had action, humor, adventure, and romance. There was something for everyone!Numair is only 30! He sounds wonderful to me and I think Daine is old enough to make her own decisions. I know plenty of people who are married and have large age differences and they're all quite happy. I personally think that their romance added a new twist to an old story line. Their attraction was evident in the first book anyway,so if you didn't like it, you should have stopped reading the books right away. Besides, the age difference makes the story more romantic and captivating. Not the same "teen" romance books that are all nearly identical. Please, read this book.

I loved this book! It explained much, from the gods to dragons to Numairs secret passion for his student. Tamora Pierce, if you happen to read this, whitch I think unlikely, I think you should have set the next series in Tortall, so we could find out about Numair and Daine and them. Maybe by then the Lioness and Jon and them would have to be dead, but they have kids. So far in your Tortall series you have told of a person with the Gift and a person with wild magic, so I suppose you would have to invent a new kind of magic. Please? I really, really, want to knoww what happens after words. If you have read this I am sure you feel the same way. Read this book!

When I had finished the 3rd book, I was disappointed.I thought it was the last one of this series. But this book is the best that could have happened to me.Daine and Numair's love showed through from the beginning and at least,I got the happy end I hoped for for such a long time. Tamora Pierce's my favourite author.I found the 4th book of the Alanna series by accident and loved it this instant. So I got through all of them.Only someone who loved them as much as I do can understand my happiness when I saw the first book of the Immortals series in the bookshop. They are even better than the Alanna books. All I can say is: READ THEM! NO MATTER HOW OLD YOU ARE.

I have been a great fan of Ms. Pierce for many years, and still reread many of her books, but this last book to The Immortals has been disappointing to me; too many events ended so coincidentally that it made the characters seem not as strong as they were in the books before. Tamora Pierce inspired me to write at a young age, but the way that The Realm of the Gods was put together made it seem as if it was written in a hurry and with less thought (it was my impression that she wanted to get the series over with). I'm sorry to say I enjoyed her other books much more than this one, even though it provides answers to questions given in previous books to the series.

Why are thou cruel fate? I can't believe how good these books were!!! I couldn't put them down and this last one has to be the best, I mean I knew that Daine liked Numair, and Numair liked Daine it just took them a while and Daine almost DYING for them to realize it mainly him though, sigh... I never used to read much but thanks to Tamora Pierce I have read more than I can believe!!! You must get this book-along with the others so you know what happing-it will makes you wish that your life was Daine. Dragons, magic, love and a whole bunch of amazing things that will make you awe and gasp with amazement, and don't worry when you finish it. There are other books that have the couple, read "Protector of the Small" set and the Tricksters Choice" to read a little more about the couple and the Books are good tooooo!!!!! Trust me when I say this, you will enjoy them all, but for now read "The Immortals" you will fall in love with them.

I have read most of Tamora Pierce's novels including Lioness Quartet and Protector of the Small. The Immortals series from my opinion isn't as good as the others. Usually I can digest a series, (If published completely) in a few days. This one has taken me months!!
I like the concept of Daine's wild magic. It's very interesting to see how she interacts with different animals. The one thing I didn't like was the romance between Daine and Numair. I mean, I like the characters and the love, but does Numair have to be 30 years old? I think this is a little too much for me considering Daine's age. From my standpoint, add on another five years to Numair's age and it would be like me dating someone my dad's age! I just couldn't take it.
All in all it was a good book and I will continue to read Tamora's work because I love Tortall.

I liked this book alot, first of all because I have been looking for it in paperback for the past, what, four months, I guess! I thing it's great for fantasy lovers. Tamora Pierce is a definite favorite author of mine, and this is one of her great works. I like the main character, Daine, and the badduns are pretty realistic, compared to other dumb fantasy books. They really should try to make a movie for at least one of Tammy's books, but it won't turn out 1/4 as good as any of them. I liked the Emperor Mage and The Price of Immortality. I think it's my favorite

I have read every single one of Tamora's books, and this is my very favorite! It has everything-romance, suspence, action, and even those cute little darkings that are made out of Orzone's blood-and is just the most awsome book I have ever read!! I think that it was NOT over rated, it deserves 10 stars!! The only thing I suggest in reading this quartet is to read them in order, I tried to read Wolf Speaker before Wild Magic and I was very confused. And I think Daine and Numair are the perfect couple, despite age. (How old is Numair again...?) It was a good conclusion to her best quartet yet.

Book 4 of the Immortals series
Numair and Daine are sent to tackle some immortals when they are abruptly taken through to the realms of the gods. This book explores Daine's past and future whilst opening up the TP universe. This is a great book and explores complex emotions and relationships including Daine and Numair, dragons, stormwings and Daine's parents.
An excellent conclusion to this quartet. This is not my favourite quartet but again TP explores some very important issues for young adults as well as a mystical world that expands with every book.

This was a great book! I loved Wild Magic and Wolf Speaker and even Emporer Mage was totally awesome! This book was really exciting, but it sort of ruins the idea of the other realms. It made them seem not-so-mysterious, and more usual and common or something. I kinda had this idea that they were these all-powerful places, that no normal mortal could even dream of going to, but now, it's just like, "Oh, OK, so it's possible for mortals to go there, the gods must not be as great as I thought." It's an awesome book anyway, and I'm glad Numair and Daine finally get together.

The best book I could ever wish for! I love the darkings but I was so sad when they died. Oh, and about Daine and Numair, it's not like I have a problem with the age thing, and I thought they were perfect for each other, but marriage? For those people who hope they do, read the reasons why they might not. I mean it's sort of like Alanna and Jon, they would make a terrible marriage. This was the best book I have ever read, I read it in a day! I love just reading my favorite parts over and over again and getting lost in day dreams.

When I read the first book that Tamore Pierce wrote about Diane, I couldn't put it down. The second and third books were also intrguing, leaving me with a serious longing for the last book. This book four was the greatest book in the series. Tamora Pierce managed to wrap up the series and create a romance between the two main character, Daine and Numair, all in one! I love the way Diane thinks and speaks like a real person, not some magic increased wierdo. I just love the way everything turned out, and I can guarentee Diane Lovers will also enjoy the last book in this series.

I first read this book a long time ago in middle school and I still have the full series both Lioness and the Immortals they are no joke bound with duck tape because over the last 11 years or so I have read them soo many times that they are indeed falling apart and I just had to replace my In the Realm of the Gods copy because half the book fell out. Once my kids get a little bit bigger these books will be read to them and I hope that when they get even older that they will pick up these books and read them over and over again like I did!

In the book The Realms of the Gods, there is everything. There are battles, monsters, gods and goddesses, budding romance and everything else you could hope for in a novel for teens and adults. It is wonderfully written and and a story that will keep you reading till you are done. One book that you won't put down. I do however advise you read the three books that come before this one in the series, The Immortals. Once you read this one you will want to read the rest of the books that Tamora Pierce has written. I recommend this book to everyone! Its wonderful.

'The Realms of the Gods' is an excellent read to everyone! Especially those who love a bit of romance here and there! Daine known as the Wild mage has fallen into the divine realms where she meets many interesting gods and goddesses. I won't say who because it would spoil a lot of the book. There her and her teacher Numair travel and try to get out. Dispite the trouble in Tortall they are not scared to go back infact they want to help which all good heros should do. If you like action, excitement and romance try THE REALMS OF THE GODS!

I have been trying to get this book for ages, and now I have got it, its not even mine. Its the librarys. This means that I have to take it back after three weeks! If you have read this book, you will know what a disaster this is. I have to read it at least 100 times. How can you fit that into three weeks? Anyway, this is the best Tamora has written yet, better than all of them (I would know). I love cliff hangers, don't you? It lets you make up little stories of your own, and the best time to do them is in history. Daine's father is a bit weiryd if you ask me, what do you think? The darkings are the cutest. It was a bit confusing when they suddenly went into battle, but after you read it a second time, it all fits into place. I have read the immortal series so many times now, I feel as if I am her! Like, if there are some teenagers doing archery on the TV, I think, I'm better than them, but then I realise Im not! Does that tell you how good these books are. When Daine is rescued by Numair from the spidrens, when they kiss, my heart was going that fast! It is just typical of Daine not to realise that Numair loves her! It is really nice how they have a few special moments before they actually get together. Numair is not that old. I read in a magasine that this girl (16) got married to a 40something year old, who died on there wedding day! (true). Anyway, They are not actually going to get married till Daine's 19+. On Tamoras website, she wrote that they were still happily living together in Kels 3rd year as apage. Dont forget, they are worried the other is going to come to his/her senses someday. I have gone on a bit here, so I will just say that this book is the best, and you have got to get it. And Tamora, if you read this, you have got to write a book finishing things off, tying the loose ends. Fantastic book, luv from a person from Pirates Swoop, wishing she was in Numairs tower, aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh ps. if Daine has kids, will the Green lady will almost definately come (obviously)!

This book was really awesome. I read Wild Magic, the first book of this series, and i was addicted. I seriously couldn't put it down. And after i did, i couldn't wait to get another one. I am eargerly awaiting her next series, and i hope that they're as great as these. I loved reading the Song of the Lioness books, they were so great to finally read a girl taking charge of what she wants! And Prince Jonathan was pretty great also. Overall, i thought that these books really deserved six stars, but you don't get everything you want do you? (Unless it's this book).

In order to fully grasp the meaning and wonder of this book, you would definantly need to read the other three books first, (Wild Magic, Wolf Speaker, & Emperor Mage.)The story put together is exqusit. Starting form the beginging of the series you see the progression of the girl Diane, as she learns and grasps her wild magic. In this perticular book, the ending, filled with love, romance, and humor between Diane and her teacher Numair, is a perfect way to balence the gorriness of the book. It's a perfect touch. You definantly want to read this series.

I thought NO book could beat Emperor Mage, but that was before I read this book! The only word I can use to describe it is WOW!! Daine-NO ONE SEEMS TO UNDERSTAND THAT HER NAME IS DAINE, NOT DIANE-finally gets to meet her dad, finds out the secrets of her unexplained past, finds out that all along she was in love with Numair, and gosh so much more!! This book was excellent, great book for any YA readers!! I don't understand why they put the Lioness Quartet in the children's section. But anyway, this is a great book! You're doing good, Tamora!!

Okay here's how the story goes: The public library has the first three-so I read them. Then I realized, HEY WHERE'S THE REST at the end of Emperor Mage. Then I found out there was a fourth book. I immediatly told the public and school librarians to ORDER IT. So then I drove myself nuts for 2 1/2 months waiting. And finally got to read it. YAY!! Daine and Numair hit it off FINALLY and Daine gets to meet her dad! Very good book. I wish that Ms. Applegate would write a book combining her two series about Daine and Alanna, that would be good.

In this book, Daine and Numair get pulled to the divine realms. Although Daine thinks it is wonderful seeing her mom and dad, she has to get back to her Tortallian home to help fight a war. The first part of this book is awesome but Numair and Daine fall in love and Daine acts stupid and is willing to do a little more then kiss. They don't do anything because Numair is to honorable but it is a real disapointment. I haven't finished the book yet but my friend has and she told me not to read the epilogue because its worse. Tamora Pierce also gives you a sickining detals to the deaths of the stormwings, hurrocks, and flying apes. It just makes you sick when you read how they die. I think the rest of the series is wonderful but on the last book is horrible in that it is a YOUNG adult book. I'm almost 13 and read alot of books in the young adult section, to me this is just not right to suck a kid into a book and make them deal with gore and young girls letting themselfs be taken advantage of. I'm not saying the rest of Tamora Pierce's book are this way but this was a disapointing ending to a great series.I do recemend the first three books but this one just isn't the same.

This is one of Tamora Pierce's best books! And it has romance, my favorite! But it is pretty easy to tell who Daine's going to fall for. (Hmm...hint: He's got the gift, older than her. Oh I won't give it away!) Daine is a wonderful character with the coolest gift of all. I mean, who wouldn't want to talk to animals AND even turn into them? Well read THE REALMS OF THE GODS!

Recently, my friend introduced me to the author Tamora Pierce. She is the author of several series, one being the topic of my writing today, The Immortal Series. This fantasy series was published by Random House Fantasy in 1992. It consists of four books: Wild Magic, Wolf Speaker, Emperor Mage, and The Realm of the Gods. The books are all approximately three or four hundred pages each.
The first book, Wild Magic, begins the magical journey that both the reader and the protagonist will take. The main character is a young girl named Daine. She is homeless as well as an outcast in society. At the tender age of thirteen, she is without a mother, doesn't know who her father is, and has no relatives to take her in. Her only companion is her horse, Cloud. She has an unusual ability to get a long with animals, they hear her, obey her, and some can even talk with her. Daine gets word of a job and goes to offer her services. The woman she begins to work for, Onua, is a horse handler who helps Daine realize the potential of her knack with animals. Her boss who also becomes her friend introduces her to many important people. They help her learn that her potential is enormous and take her under their wings. She finds that her skill is a form of the "gift" or a type of magic, although hers is wild magic. With the help of a powerful mage named Numair, she learns to use her magic to heal animals as well as make some interesting discoveries. Daine is able to sense immortals like Stormwings, creatures that have feathers made of knife sharp metal and live off the dead. We learn the reason for Daine being an outcast and how she once lived wild as a wolf. Daine uses this and her friendship with the animals, known in the book as the "People," to save her kingdom from invasion. Daine is constantly given help from her guarduan, a badger, who was sent by her unrevealed father. She aquires a dragon named Kitten when its mother dies in battle. Kitten along with Cloud are her constant companions.
This type of magical theme is carried throughout the rest of the series. The plot continues to hold many adventures. The setting is in a place where magic and sorcery are accepted, common and a way of life. The characters all have interesting talents as well as life stories.
In the second book, Wolf Speaker, We meet the pack of wolves Daine once belonged to. They helped the now 14-year-old Daine avenge her family's death. The wolves are in need of Daine's help in Dunlath Valley where their home is being destroyed. Daine and her tutor, Numair, travel to the valley where they find the destroyed terrain and a plot to overthrow the king. Once again, it's Daine's "wild magic'' that allows them to destroy a magical shield created by evil mages over the valley. We are given a few hints as to who her father may be.Daine learns that not only can she talk with animals but she is able to morph. Again, Daine aquires new friends, this time an immortal named Tkaa, a basilisk (a creature that can turn anything to stone).
Another fluent theme is that we are constantly left guessing who Daine's father may be. The significance of our not knowing her background and her not knowing her father is a common factor in the following books.
In the third book, Emperor Mage, Daine is specially chosen for a peace mission to Carthak, a threatening enemy to Tortall. The beloved birds of the emperor of Carthak are sick and because of Daine's healing powers and ability to converse with animals she was chosen to go.The emperor turns out to be evil and it takes courage and determination for Daine to conquer him with the help of a special gift from the badger. There is some foreshadowing of a future romance between Daine and Numair. This brings up a new theme, love...
In the fouth, and final book of the series, The Realm of the Gods, there is more trouble for Tortall. Gods pull Daine and the mage Numair into the realms to save their lives. The two feel they must return to earth, where they are needed in the desperate battle raging there. After a danger-filled trek to the land of the dragons, they make allies with its inhabitants who not only return them to Earth, but also join the altercation, along with other immortals. Daine's wild magic continues to develop, and some of the best scenes involve her interaction with beasts of various kinds. Mixed into the fighting are bits of humor. There is also a blossoming romance between Daine and Numair. All in all, a fulfilling ending to an enticing story.
I feel that many of the components of the story tie into what is happening in our world today. In each of the stories, fighting and war are major factors, and looking at the current situation of the United States as well as many other countries, we are all in the same predicament. Particularly in the story of The Emperor Mage , a situation like the one we have with Osama Bin Laden occurs. One man poisons the minds of his followers and produces an excuse for a war.
The Immortal Series is a great read that I definitely recommend. The books cover all anyone could ask for in a book. Romance, adventure, fantasy and more are all included. It is a book no teenager, more specifically girls, should be without a copy of it.

I read this whole series in ,like, three days and this book was definitely the best. To everyone who says Daine and Numair's relationship was "unappropriate", you are SO wrong!!! Do you have something against romance? It was obvious from the very first book! And if you didn't pick it up from Emperor Mage, than I must say, you are blind. The clues were slapping you in the face(or someone else's). They make aperfect couple. Anyway, this book was wonderfully romantic, funny, and action packed. Read it, you'll like it.

This series is among the best literature I have ever read. The last book is a fitting ending to to some of the best fantasy out there... If the series got me out of clinical depression, it can do wonders for anyone else. If you own a library, or interact in anyway with children (or those young at heart) purchase at least a dozen editions of all four books.Believe me, they are among the most popular ones out there. (Just look at the number of reviews!) Just one parting comment to Mrs. Pierce: Can you possibly write faster?

I was taken away by the first Pierce book I read (The Lioness Quartet) and I thought that I could never find a book that could top it. Boy was I wrong. The Immortals series brings you into the book and into the story. It has that kind of magic that makes you feel every emotion that they feel. You get to know the characters like if you yourself knew them personaly. This is true for all of Tamora's books. I hope you take my advice and at least read The Immortals series and I promise you that you like, if not love it.

I thought this was a great book and I knew the whole time that Numair and Daine would get together, most things in all the other books in this seires lead up to it. I hope she writes another seires about Tortall, I read all Tamora's books and I loved every one of them! I could just see all the characters and the landscape, it was so clearly writen. If you haven't read any of Tamora's books you should read them ALL! I just could not put these books down. I have read this book at least FIVE times. It was that good!

I loved this book! Tamora Pierce has truly out done herself! This is an amazing twist of magic, and even a bit of romance. don't worry for those of you who are fans of the other books, and don't want to be reading some mushy gooshy love story. Any wanys i really loved this book and strongly urge any, and every preteen/teen girl to try these books. But then again how many people acctually read these things? I know i do... but that might just be me. Oh well. Again i ABSALOUTLY (how do you spell that?) LOVED this book!!

I abosolutly loved this book, it was a great conclusion to the quartet. I have one problem though, and that is with the people who think that Daine and Numiar shouldn't get together. Common' this is not the 50's people, 14 years is not a big diffeence. Also what is with the people who think that Alanna was a page when George was grown up? Alanna was 11 when she met George and he was 17,six years in not a big diffeence!! So, go Tamora for trying something new, it was wonderful!! ~ a devoted fan~

This fourth and final book in the Immortals Quartet by Tamora Pierce is as thrilling and spellbinding as the previous three in this quartet. Tamora Pierce is a descriptive and fluent author, who spins tales that seem to be magically alive. In this book, Veralidaine Sarrasri learns quite a bit about herself and the invaded worlds around her. Daine, a teenager with Wildmagic, can shape-shift to any animal, and can talk to all animals. Healing the wild creaters of the human realm is also a skill she has mastered. With her teacher, Numair, Daine is saved from skinners, (one of the immortals that have been invading Tortall for several years in the rule of King Jonathan the Third and Queen Thayet) and are pulled into the Realms of the Gods by Daine's mother, the Green Goddess. Daine and Numair travel to find a way to journey back into their own realm. Numair and Daine overcome many dangers in the realm filled with gods and immoratls, and learn much about themselves and eachother. When the duo learn that the Goddess of Chaos's plan to distory the peace in the Realms of the Gods is somehow linked with the distruction of the immortals in Tortal, they know it is up to them to save Tortal, and make it home in time for dinner. In this epic novel the conclusion of the Immortals Quartet draws the books to a close. But be sure to read the rest of Tamora Pierce's novels, which include the Protector of the Small Quartet, The Song of the Lioness Quartet, The Circle of Magic Quartet, and The Circle Opens Quartet. They're really worth it!

A nice wrap-up to this quartet. And finally, the relationship that I was waiting for developed (names left out to contain spoilers). I wonder if there will be more information about them in the next Tortall series; I shall have to find out (fortunately, I have those books sitting on my TBR shelf). There was a little more sacrifice in this book compared to the rest, but still it did all seem to turn out a little too well in the end - but I was in the mood for a happy ending, so all is well.

I am an avid reader, (i'm almost 14), and i think that Tamora Pierces books are some of the best i've ever read. I especially enjoyed IN the Realms of the Gods. The main character, Daine, has to deal with a whole new set of descisions and problems, which gives this book a different feel to it. As Daine deals with issues over love, I think that this book would be more appropriate for older readers. All in all though, this book is an extremely satisfying conclusion to the Immortals Quartet.

10% junk is the way that the romance is described. This book isn't for 9-year olds. 20% of the junk is how ordinary, how powerless the gods seem in their home. The badger loses his mystery. Weiryn is boring. 5% junk: the book is simplistic. Numair has OTHER girlfriends, people! So about them falling in love. I didn't mind that much. 5%of the junk. Uusoae looks like she's been thrown in for some spice into the plot. WELL THE BOOK 'S STILL BAD!!!but you can read it if you are a giant Pierce fan. .5% junk is the ending. I felt unsatisfied.

I am too old to be reading Tamora Pierce books but I don't care, I had to read read this one. Daine rocks. Not only does she save the world again - but she gets the guy too. Nice twist on an all-too cliched theme. We need other girl-heroines like Daine and Alanna - I am sick of being told that all women are good for is a prop for the manly men who get to do all the good stuff. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE write another series in this world. I want to see what happens to Daine later on in life.

This is a great end to the series! I've read the book over four times and still can pick up something new each time! If you love the "Immortals" series, this is a great way to end it. And if you haven't read any of Tamora's books yet, READ THEM!!! THEY'RE GREAT!!! I hope she writes more about Tortall. It was great to see the different characters of the two series together. I haven't read the next series yet, but if it is anything like these series it will be great!

Alright, I don't think I have ever been more depressed in my whole life that I have finished a series of books than I am right now. This has been the best 3 days of my life. I could not put any of the books down. I would have to say this one was my favorite because Numair and Daine go together. I knew it was coming. Numair had fallen in love with her long before this book, but he was just to stupid to realize it till he almost lost her. Ahhhhh... memories. Seriously though, this series is fantastic for girls and guys. It is amazing, I can't even describe it. I can't saying anything or else I will end up underrating it, it is that good. If you haven't read this series you had better go out and buy it NOW! If you don't you are missing out. You can't read books without reading these. What a wonderful series! I loved every second I spent reading it. Everybook was great in its own way. I LOVE THE IMMORTALS!

I was sad once i realized i would be finishing the series and i was afraid i might be dissappointed by this book but its FAR from dissappointing. This was probably by FAR my FAVORITE book by tamora pierce((i think)) i love the darkings to death! Numair and Dianes relationship blossom in this book and it is definitely an excellent book! I dont see how anyone could not like this book, it was truly a work of art! If you liked the first three you havent seen anything yet, this book will blow you out of the water. It is a wonderful ending to a spectacular series. This book will NOT dissappoint you one bit, though some people think the book can get a little... serious its nothing a mature audience cant enjoy. I have read this probably 5 times, i still laugh and i still love the whole thing! This is one book you WONT want to miss

Wow. I've been reading tamora pierce's books ever since the first protector of the small came out two or three years ago. The Realms of the Gods is one of my favorites. It ends the story of Daine, who we all know and love from the first three immortals. If you haven't read the first three(or the song of the lioness quartet for that matter)don't read this book yet! It will spoil all of the previuous ones for you.Anyways, this one is about the climatic battle of the so-called immortals war in Tortall. It's Daine, her teacher Numair, and all of your other favorite Tortallans against the Emperor-turned stormwing Ozorne. But when Daine and Numair get trapped in the realms of the gods, it takes a long and perilous journey to get them back home again, with lots of twists and turns along the way. Don't be too surprised by the romance that pops up. Anyways, it gets really interesting when Daine starts having these strange dreams...
Comparing this to other books by Tamora Pierce(who is the best author ever by the way), it's about average. Having a small cast of characters for the majority of the book keeps it from getting too exciting, though there are plenty of battles to make up for that. Wild Magic is definetly the best of the immortals quartet, and Squire is the best book Tamora Pierce has written thus far. But agian, I must emphasize the need to read these books in the correct order, starting with the Song of the Lioness quartet. Have fun reading!

...and I don't grade easy. This author is the best have ever read, heard of, or imagined. How this book could get less than 5 stars is beyond me. The characters blow out of the pages. You are swept up in Daine's story every time you pick the book up. I myself have read so many times I have lost track, and it still never fails to swoop me away.
The conclusion to the stunning Immortals series, "The Realms of the Gods" finishes the story of Veralidaine Sarrasri (Daine) quite satisfyingly. Daine, a 16-year-old with the gift of "animal speech", has been working hard keeping evil immortals from destroying Tortall, her home. When she and her teacher Numair are pulled into the realms of the gods, Daine fears for her friends' safety. Leaving the home she has found in thge god-realms, Daine and Numair set out on a dangerous journey to return to Tortall. But through strange dreams and visions, Daine discovers that she and her friends may be pawns in a game of the gods to save the entire universe...
That's all I want to say for fear of giving anthing away. I will say that if you miss this book, you are missing out on the time of your life! However, I do advise you to read the prequels "Wild Magic", "Wolf-Speaker", and "Emperor Mage" (in that order) first. I recommend anything by this author. In fact, it's best to read her "Song of the Lioness" series before this.

To Athens, you've gotta be kidding me when you talk about her abandoning her 'special moments between characters'. You have to be, 'cause there's at least one, maybe more. To Tessa Lee, I *almost* cried during the book. I just cried today when I was reading it, during that unexpected, bizarre part.
PS What I mean by the bizarre part is where there's a serious lack of them understanding each other. Y'know, the part where he's yelling at her.

When I finished reading the 1st Alana book, I was instantly hooked. Throught out the whole series, i thought that last book, (Realm of the gods) was the ultimate best. In my opinion, it has all the elements required to be a good book. It has suspense, romance, and imagination. I have read and re-read all of the Alanna and Daine books over and over. I can practically recite a few chapters. The romance between Numeir and Daine is kinda of expected. Through all of her books, she hits alittle about this happening. (ex. 3rd book- at the end where he hugs her tight and call her sweet) The only thing i would have to complain about this book, is the ending. Tamora Pierce just cuts it off, but I understand that she has a limited amount of pages that she can work with. I just hope that in the future, she writes more books involving alanna, george, Daine, Numeir, Kit, and all.

I'm 30, and have read 7 of the 8 books available by this author, and enjoyed them immensely! These books are a MUST for fans of the Narnia books, written with the same style, but with more wit and humour. Alanna and Daine are simply enjoyable characters, and their adventures appealing, even to an adult mind. These are indeed fairy-tales for a modern time, well-written, excellent plotting, wonderful characters, and altogether entertaining.

This book is one of my favorites in the world. I have read it over and over several times. Daine and Numair are trapped in the realms of the gods and have to find a way to get back down to earth in order to save Tortall. While they are up there they learn about eachother and discover a love for one another. I suggest this to any true fantasy reader. However, I do suggest reading the books before it in the series before reading this one.

This book was fantastic, i read the entire series and this was by far the best of Tamora's four immortal books. Numair and Daine are swept into the divine realms by Daine's mother. They travel to Dragonlands to seak help from the dragons, (the help being sent back to the mortal realm). Along the way they undertake many adventures including walking over rickety bridges to falling into rivers. Also in this book Daine finds out who her true love is. The ending to this book was beautiful, though it may make one look for more news on how she and Numair are fairing. I love Tamora pierce's books, the only problem is that so far she has limited her series to 4 books when she could really write a ten-book series.

This is a book that rocks! It has everything I look for: cool characters, an awesome plot, anything you can think of. Daine is, was, and always will be my favorite character. The only thing I didn't like about it was this little twist called Numair's brain kicking in ( that "it just dosen't seem *right*" thing in ch 7). I wrote it like that so it dosen't spoil the plot(although it's already been spoiled). Good work, Tammy!

This is one of my favorite books ever! It was exciting, romantic, and, um, very adventurous!
This is for all you people who think that Daine needs somebody to be romanticaly involved with: Dont give up hope! This kind of relationship is probably much closer than you think! (*hint hint, wink wink*)
This book shows how much war takes it's toll, and how much you have to give to conquer evil. It shows you that evil doesn't ALWAYS win. I was very sad that this was the last book in the series, since it was so good. But all good things must come to an end.
But if you haven't read this book, and you've had the chance to, shame to you! You must read it quickly! I really recommend this book to everyone, but especially to teens. Well, mostly to teen girls. It's amazing how Tammy manages to tie everything together so nicely.

In this series of books, I feel she has left behind the special serious moments of the characters that make her books so wonderful. Her faithful personal connection with the characters seems to be broken for the time being. I certainly hope this is not the end of her wonderus writing. Yet, I enjoyed a new adventure that involved Alanna, but I think that her last series was the best, still is the best, and will always be the best.

All right, to all the people who think otherwise, Numair isn't THAT old. There's a 14 year age difference. My BF's mom is 21 years younger than her husband! The book itself was amazing, even though it was sad, and I felt sorry for Rikash. I loved all the dragons, and also the bridge scene, but I thought that Pierce should've at least tied up a few loose strings, in the Divine Realms...

This book was really good. I liked the darkings and I wish they had all survived. I thought it was sad when Rikash died (he was one of the only decent Stormwings). Once again, this was really cool. My one complaint is that Ms. Pierce suddenly threw in romance when this series was perfectly good without it. There's enough romance in the Alanna series, in my opinion. Other then that, this book was really good, if a little sad.

I thought the first few Immortals were good, until I read this one! This one was the best!!!!! If you think Daine and Numair are a bad couple, then you have problems!! I mean, even from the first book you can tell they like each other!! And he's NOT 60, he's in his 20's. And I know people who are married and over 13 years apart! They're a perfect couple. In this book of the immortals series, Daine and Numair get sucked into the Divine Realms and have to make the long journey home to fight a battle raging in the Mortal Realms. This is a good book but there are a few things I dont like about it. For one there is alot of blood and a few swear words, Daine and Numair do get together and I'm totally fine with that but there is alot of kissing and at one part where Daine must not be thinking straight but Numair is awesome and sets her straight. I did write a review before but that was before I finished the book.(I was really mad.) I thought they did something other than kiss and they don't.(to my great relief!) Also one thing that makes me happy is that Numair does propose!! This is not the best book in the series but it is still good, as long as you skip a few parts. Although I do not suggest this book to anyone in a grade lower than 7th this book is awesome if you skip over a few parts. THE REST OF THE SERIES IS AWESOME!!!

This is defintely the best of the Immortals series! I love it that Daine and Numair fall in love too. I think that is appropriate for the story. I love all the new things you learn in the Divine Realms. I like the vivid way everything is described by Tamora of how things are in the Divine Realms. I love the part when they get to the Dragon Lands, also the parts at the end, the battle, Daine's big decision, and Daine finding Numair. I think of this as the most colorful and vibrant book of this series. I want to know if Daine and Numair get married! Basically, the plot of this story is; Daine and Numair are saved from a life-threatening situation by Daine's parents, both gods. Daine and Numair insist upon going home, so they travel through the Divine Realms searching for help. I won't spoil the details of the end though. Tamora defintely saved the best for last!

I really liked Realms of the Gods. The dragons were my favorite part of it. I've read so many descriptions of dragons in fantasy books, some portraying them as evil, some as good, and some (like this one) a little of both. But the way the Immortals series describes dragons is my all time favorite! I liked Scamp and Grizzle almost as much as Kitten! The little ones are so cute! Also, some people are saying that there should be another Tortall series. Well, there is. Two more, in fact. They're both about girls training to be knights. The first one takes place before the Immortals series and is called Song of the Lioness Quartet. It's about Alanna. The second series takes place after the Immortals Quartet. It's called Protector of the Small and is about Keladry of Mindelan. Only the first book of it is out, and Daine is in it briefly! Anyway, I'm getting too far off the subject. All I wanted to say is that Realms of the Gods--and the whole series, too--is a really great book with likable, humorous, characters.

I think Mrs. Pierce did a wonderful job of creating believable characters. When ever I read one her books it seems like I'm really there. When Diane is fighting on the first bridge it's like you can almost see the immortals. This book shows lots of creative thought, plenty of research, and an open mind to fantasy. If you haven't read this yet you must be crazy. I hope she comes out with new series soon.

Oh my GOD. I can't believe it! How can you end a series right after Numair proposses? Yes, It's obvious that they will get married but what if NUMAIR fell off a cliff? Daine could mourn forever thinking he was dead and then he could show up at her door. He could sweep her into his arms and dump her into bed. Now what a good book that would be! Tamora has to write another book or follow up in another series like she sorta did with Alanna and George. Numair and Daine could have kids and go through more hardships ect. ect. I've read this book littraly about 60 times and it never gets old. But back on the romance subject it SHOULDN'T take three books and 167 pages for Numair and Daine to hook up. Well...I vented about .0006 of my rag ebut anyway. Thanks, Bye, Lauren

I've been reading through all this (though I didn't get through all 106), and I've noticed a lot of arguing about Daine and Numair. Now if you couldn't see that coming, don't walk on the street, 'cause you won't see a two-ton truck, either. This is DEFINITELY one of the BEST books of one of the BEST authors I have ever read (book and author). Even if, in abstract, you disapprove of it, you can't help but accept it when you read Pierce's powerful language, describing their feelings for one another. Besides, it's her characters, and by now she knows what she's doing, OK. And you over there, casting aspersions--GET REAL!!
Powerfully, creatively written, sparing no necessary detail--if leaving you in suspense. By the way, another quartet about Tortall is coming out. It sounds GREAT!!!!!
IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS AUTHOR, YOU HAVEN'T READ PEANUTS. GET A RIDE TO THE NEAREST BOOKSTORE, OR IF YOU'RE BROKE THE NEAREST LIBRARY, AND MAKE WHOEVER'S IN CHARGE ORDER IT FOR YOU. THAT IS AN ORDER!!!!!!!

I absolutely loved all of her books and read then over and over again. Must be read!!! I can not tell how much I loved all of her books (including the Alanna quartet) from first step to last page they kept me turning. I look forward to reading her next series with the same interest (I WISH TAMORA WOULD WRITE MORE BOOKS WITH THESE CHARACTERS!!!!!!!!!!) I loved them all sooooooooo much!!!!!!

The Realms of the Gods was the best book from the quartet. I loved this book and I'm really sorry that this was the last book in the Immortals. The book has a wonderful plot and Daine really makes me wish that I was her! I recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy and adventure. This is one of my favorite books and I would definitely recommend reading all the other Immortals books.

Wonderful! Everyone knew that Daine and Numair would get together. But Pierce orchestrated it perfectly throughout the entire series, and ended it with only a little missing.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT? I am dying to know, and I bet everyone else is. Do Numair and Daine marry? If so, did they have children? What happen to the children? Please Ms. Pierce, write another series of Tortall books!

I liked the Emperor Mage, and I reviewed that one too. I think it's my favorite, I don't know why. I am eleven years old, and I CAN NOT wait for Tammy's other series to come out in paperback! That's cause I'm a cheapskate and always getthem in paperback, but they come late around here.

To Ms. Pierce, from a reader who has read almost every one of your books (I still haven't been able to get my hands on the second Song of the Lioness book), I'd just like to say this: HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO US! There is no thing more cruel in the world, than to end not a book, but a SERIES, just after someone proposes. We don't even know if Daine said yes or not! Although, the chemistry between Daine and Numair really was evident (especially in Emperor Mage), and I'm surprised that there were actually people who were surprised when they got together. Come on! How do you not see it? And I don't care what anybody else says. This book was wonderful (even though it left us hanging), and I'm always right, so don't even try to argue.

So, your want to know what the official book worm, the all-time readaholic, the One-Who-Has-Been-Seen-Reading-While-Walking-From-Class-To-Class, the One-Who-Reads-While-Walking-And-Has-Finally-Learned-How-Not-To-Hit-Telephone-Poles thinks of "The Realms of the Gods"? Well, I would say this: Give me something better and I will die of shock! Give me something equal, you'll be giving "In the Hand of the Goddess", which is the other Best Book in the World. Nothing is better. The plot: The stunning conclusion to the Immortals Series, "The Realms of the Gods" takes place in, where else, the Realms of the Gods. Veralidaine Sarrasri (a.k.a. Daine) and her teacher Numair Salmalin find themselves transported there where they meet Daine's parents. Still, despite how peaceful it is there, the two feel they must return home to Tortall to assist their country in the wars ravaging the world. But the problem is now...How do they get back?

Okay this book is freaking awesome! Daine and Numair are sent by King Jonathon to try and stop some Wyverns. When they get there they try everything to stop them but cant. Then a huge like light fills the place and Numair and Daine are sent to the realms of the gods. There she meets her mother,Sarra, and her
daddy. She then learns that she must go on a terrible journey to get out and save Tortall from stormwing Ozorne and Uusoa. They travel above a giant alligator thing, and eventually end up with Daine falling off a cliff and Numair rescuing her and you know its gonna lead to somethig. Bad Numair. Eventually they get to the Dragon Lands. With the Assistance of Raksha and soe others theyget to a dragon council, get out of the Realms of the Gods and get into a fight with Ozorne. While Daine is doing that Numair is off battling someone else.

This is the perfect conclusion to the Immortals series. Adventure, romance and humor make the journey of Daine and Numair absolutly thrilling. I loved the book so much when I read it for the first time (and I have read it bout 80 times) the it was all I could think about. It was so distracting I actually flunked a math test because it was all I could think about.

I think that this book was great. It had all of the material for a great book in it. I loved the dragons and the darkings. I wish that Jelly and Leaf weren't killed. You get to meet Daine's parents. I wish my parents were that cool! Making chairs out of walls! Anyway, then Daine and Numair got together, which I REALLY REALLY liked. All of the action and stuff were great, but I personally think that the little love scenes were cute.
All in all, I think this book is exellent, and that anyone would like it, but read the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd books first.
Unfortunately, the reason that I only gave this 4 stars insead of 5 was because the series ended too soon, and was kinda cut off. I'm going to sit here and wait for the next series with Daine in it comes out. Hopefully with more little love scenes in it.

Oh, my, god. I can't put in words how much I LOVE this book!!!! Okay, many of you are saying that it is "racy" and "innapropriate" and junk. Are you MAD? Okay, totally not innapropriate. I love the romance in this book. My friends think it's gross that Daine and Numair are so far apart in age, but, who cares? Okay anyway, I read this in about a day, and I loved it sooo much. When I got it I knew there had to be some sort of romance (obviously) so I read it SO fast until the part where they kiss! I LOVED that part. I have read all the romance parts over and over and over and over. I love it. I am so mad that the new Tamora Pierce series barely has Daine or Numair in it! Whhhaaaaaaa! I want them to get married sooo much. I am really mad. I love romance. Sigh. Anyway, this was a good book. :)

This book was my very favorite in the series. I knew thatDaine and Numair would finally get together and I was so happy whenthey did. I just want them to be married. I have written to Tamora Pierce and I intend to tell her that Daine and Numair need to have kids in a story or something. I didn't want the story to end, it was too suspenseful.

I earlier wrote a review saying this book was 40% junk. I have changed my mind. I believe that this book rates 100% junk now. It is simplistic, disgusting, rather boring except for Leaf, predictable and a clear sign that Tamora Pierce is running out of creative ideas. Predictable, predictable. We are introduced to so many new things added to spice up the plot that it numbs the mind. Instead, most turn to the "blossoming romance" between Denominatior and Numerator. ALL YOU TAMORA PIERCE WORSHIPPERS GET REAL!! LIFE IS NOT HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!! Read the Toguh guide to fantasyland, and Terry Brooks reviews andyou will know what I think of romance worship.

Tamora Pierce is one of my all time favorite authors who could only improve upon her writing skills by turning out her books a bit faster. This book like most of her books has wonderful characterization and story line. The world she creates is intriguing and everyone in it seems real and fascinating.

The book was pretty good, but cannot compare w/the first Alanna book. Also, i don't think Numair and Dianeshould get together -- i mean, Alanna married someone so much OLDER than her, and now Diane does the same! Goerge is already grown up when Alanna is a page, and Numair is a mage when Diane is about 13! I think its ridiculous!

Tamora Peirce has outdone herself with the Immortals Quartet. As the final book, Pierce has fully completed her saga of Veralidaine and Numair. The reader will come to a full understanding of pressure put on top of the leaders of Tortall. Pick it up and I swear on the Great Mother Goddess you won't want to put it down.

This is easily Tamora Pierce's best yet. The characters are wonderfully involving, the setting is fantastic, and the plot keeps you caught up in the story till the very end. I sat down with this book one afternoon over Thanksgiving weekend, and couldn't set it down till I finished it somewhere around three the next morning.

I think Tamora Pierce has already done better. "The Realms Of The Gods" DO give the answers we've been waiting for so long. But Daine is walking in the Realms of the Gods now. This makes the Gods much less exeptional and the Realms almost commonplace. What's become of the rare occasions when Alanna communicated with a Goddess

This was the weakest in the series. The great part was about Daine and Numair. They were just so adorable! The bad bits were the almost hurried, disorganised storylines thrown in for good measure. It's almost as if Ms Pierce ran out of steam. I would LOVE to know what happens with Numair and Daine. Hopefully there will be more stories about this great land and these great people.

It seems Diane is just a normal person until Numair showed up and told her that she had wild magic. Then Diane learns more about herself than she ever dreamed of. In this book Diane and Numair are faced with certain death when her dead mother sweeps her into the divine realms or in other words in the realms of the gods. It is a amazing jurney and I knew that Numair liked her when she saw the glimpes of something important. The discription is wonderful. I love this book and have recomended this to one of my best friends, and get this, he can't stop reading it! I wish that I could be Diane. It would be worth all of the money in the world.

Okay, I have just finished reading the entire Immortals series FOR THE SECOND TIME in the past week. She has got to write more books about Diane and the rest. If she doesn't I am seriously going to go INSANE. I keep on drifting back into the world of Tortall, until I finally break down and read the book yet another time. My dreams are about it. My day dreams are about it. (and my math grades haven't been the same, either) A DESPRATE plee from reader to writer, MORE of the Immortals!! P.S. Getting to the romance in this story, you can guess it in the first two books, and a big HINT is slapping you (or maybe Ozorne's) in the face in the third, and in this last one definatly makes your heart thud. Age is NO matter agianst love.

I loved this book. It has grown to be a favorite, but it made me want more. Ms. Pierce should definetely go back and answer all of the questions she left us with. I thought that "In The Realms of the Gods" was a great book. Pierce is obviously a great writer. And I am way old for these books, I'm 18, and my 14 year oold sister and I agree that these are the best books! I'm in love with fantasy books, as is she, and we read Alanna first, fell in love with those, then read Daine and agreed those were even better, with the third of Daine's series my sis's fave and the last my fave! She read it before me and I swore her not to tell me the ending or if Numair and Daine get together. I knew they would! What a great book! I love it! I have read all the books in this series, and really enjoyed the first two, but Realms of the Gods is just poor, it lacks something that made the others so enjoyable. It answers a few questions that needed answering, but don't expect much from it. It doesn't live up to the other books by Tamora Pierce.

This was honestly the best book that I have ever read. I liked the other three books, but this one takes the cake. The Darkings were the best. They kept getting away, and causing trouble, but turned out to be so helpful and sweet. It was upsetting when a Storm Wing wiped them out. It really caught me off guard though, when some Storm Wings decided that they were going to help out the Queen, King, Alanna, and Daine. I loved Daine and Numair getting together. I mean, we all knew it was going to happen after the incident in Carthak, but it was still exciting. The age difference is probably a little shaky with some people, but 14 years between soul mates doesn't bother me. I just want to hear what's going to happen next with Daine and her to-be husband!

I think this is the absolute best book I've ever read. Actually, I know it is. What I don't know is how ANYONE can NOT like it. I mean, Numair is only 14 years older than Daine, and anyone would get white hairs if they're really stressed. I've read the new Tortall book,(Protector of the Small--First test) and Tamora Pierce DOES NOT TELL ENOUGH ABOUT DAINE AND NUMAIR! There better be more about them in the next books! P.S.--the darkings are cute. I wish Leaf and Jelly hadn't been killed.

This was a REALLY REALLY great book. I always knew Daine and Numair had a chemistry between them. I think Tamora Pierce did an excellent job in writing the love parts in this book. I wish she would of made Numair a little younger though, or Daine a little older. Numair is 30 and Daine is 16, that's just a large age difference. In this book Daine is being stalked by an old enemy. She goes to the realms of the gods and sees her mother and father who she finds out are Gods. She falls in love with Numair, and has to make the difficult decision between imortality and love.

Tamora Pierce did an amazing job with this book! Although I loved all her other books too, the Immortals' Series has to be the best in my opinion. I love the way Daine and Numair fall in love, but I think that Ms. Pierce should have written more on the turn out of their relationship. Daine and Numair's adventures in the Realm of the Gods are fun and exciting! I felt as if I was pulled into the book and taken along with them to fight the Carthakians and Ozorne. Ok, here I am, 38 years old and my daughter brings home a book (Wild Magic) that I started reading by accident. Next thing I know, I'm at the library checking out the rest of the books in the series. I polished them off in two days (there were dishes to do, otherwise I would have devoured them sooner.) The characters are wonderful (hmmm, does Numair have an older brother...?) and the stories rich and exciting. I love the way Ms. Pierce developed the lives and love of Daine and Numair. I do wish there would be more books with them mentioned. I do miss them already. Please say we'll see them again!

As a young woman just slipping out of my teens, I've found Tamora Pierce to be an awesome writer in general with Realms of the Gods to be a crowning achievement.
Tamora takes your hand and places it directly into "Magelet's". From there, she introduces you to Gods, Dragons, Mages, humans who can't seem to "stay in their stations", and creatures borne of the dreams of mortals.
The strands of humor, sadness, outright joy, and romance all string together to create a beautiful world filled with strong, indepth heros who people identify with because of the insecurities they must rise above.

As a lover of fantasy, I found a lot to enjoy about this book. As a parent, I was troubled that a book clearly marketed to kids has its 16-year-old heroine falling in love with, kissing, and discussing both sex and marriage with a 30-year-old man. How many parents of teen girls want our daughters' imaginations caught up in this kind of scenario? There are a lot of other great fantasy books to choose from. This one doesn't belong in our home.

I have read every one of of Tamora Pierces books that she has written. This one is definatly the best yet. The only bad thing about it is that it isn't really finished. Numair proposes and then it ends. I am very much hoping that Tamora will write another series that tell what happens with Diane and Numair. Kind of like what she did with Alanna, George, Jonathan, and Thayet. I would recommend "The Realm of the Gods" to anyone who loves fantasy with a tinge of love in it. Everyone should read this book.

I am a huge fan of Tamora Pierce, and i must say this is one of her best. for me its the romance between Daine and Numair. there are hints here and there, like Numair's voice and his eyes which make my heart melt. Stuck in the gods home, when there is a war in the mortal realms, there is love in the air when Daine never dies, Numair comes to save her. even with this love they can't stop until they get back to the mortal realms. after bloodshed, changing shapes and a goddess getting punished Numair and Daine have survived and come together at last.

I like the fact that Daine got to meet her dad finally and that she got to talk to her mom again. But Sarra strikes me as an over-protective mom. I also like it that Daine and Numair get together. Come on he's ONLY 30 it's not like Daine want's to marry her great-grandfather so all of you complainers shut up! I think it's fair funny that people who hate this book so much read it! If I could be any one in all of the books Tamora Pierce wrote it would be Daine because of her powers. In Emporer Mage Tamora Pierce hinted about romance. I like that. Mirthros you other non-faithfuls complain!

I've read all of her books except for three. I'm really dying to read the 3 that I haven't read already. Like I said before, there is something about Tamora Pierce's books that kind of makes you to want to keep on turning the pages. Thank you for reading this review. This review goes the same for all of Tamora Pierce's books that she has written.

I think that Tamora Pierce used opposing perspectives to create humor. All of her books are really humerous and creative. I think that you should read this book because it is really unique, because most authors want you to feel afraid during some events but Tamora Pierce makes you laugh in those spots. This also makes it the best book by Tamora Pierce.
All of the books by Tamora Pierce are really great and Tamora Pierce creats a twist from a normal authers book by changing gender roles and combing genras.

I've read this whole series and the Alanna series (my 2nd favorite) and the Winding Circle (Briar, Daja, etc) series, and started the Protector of the Small series but this is DEFINATELY my favorite! And out of all four books- I would say this is the best. I love the characters and the world they live in and I devour these books in gulps, but I especiallly loved this one for the romance-this is the best combination possible for me, science fiction-fantasy type books with a bit of romance. I LOVE these books!!

It is the best, best,BEST book ever. I love da Immortal series, and I also love BroadFoot. I LUV platap-er duckmoles. If you have not read the book then you are uneducated and idiotic. I liked the romanced between Numair and Daine, but dude, will they get married?? I mean Daine could like marry Numair and then cheat on him with Kaddar (I know, I'm phyco!)so someone should HINT to Tamora to write a 5th and 6th and 7th and- maximum of 1,000 words?!?! How in Mithros am I to explain this in 1,000 words? I need a million.
Oh well. Come Badger, were meeting Daine and Numair for Breakfast.

OK. this is great... and i mean it... but, i really cannot stand the suspense... i mean, obviously we know that daine will accept Numair's proposal, but... i want to see... you know... what will happen next when they get back.. i understand in the protector of the small series, they share a room... but i really want to know how others react about them... and good gracious, how could Rikash die? this is so depressing..
oh well.. all go well with you! <especially to ALL tamora pierce's fans!>

I think that anyone and everyone should read this book! It is my favorite book out of all the Tamora Pierce books! If you enjoy fantasy books with adventure and a little romance you will absolutly love this book. Also you should check out all of the other Tamora Pierce books. They are all excellent! And check out her new series "Protector of the Small". I have read the first two and I can't wait for the next two to come out!

All of the Immortlas books by Tamora Pierce are wonderful, as are all her Tortallan series- The Song of the Lioness, Daughter of the Lioness, and Protector of the Small. I especially loved the Realms of the Gods, however, because of the different genres- mystery, action, adventure, and (finally) the added romance! I think that this book is great and I highly recommend all the series listed above to anyone who enjoys fantasy novels!

I thought this book ws absoultly rivating! I loved how Daine and Numair were thrown into the realms of the gods. The plot is perfect with it's many twists and turns, plus the little romance thrown in. With the way everything finally comes togather during the story is quite above satisfying. Daines past is fully exsposed and she finally learns everything. She also has to fight one of her greatest enemies. It is a work of genious and a wonderful end to a wonderful series!

I love this book and the rest of his series. Tamora Pierce makes magic like a natural resource thats plentiful yet fragile. The Realm of the Gods finishes the series wonderfully. Daine discovers her father is a god and her mother has become one, too. Also Daine and Namair finally relize thier in love! I wish it didn't end here but you find out more about Daine and Namair in Trickster's Choice.

I found this book to be one of the best of TPs. It was sorta stange when Daine and Numair became `lovers`. But i kinda saw it coming. It was very intersting to find out more about the great gods and daines parents. If you have already gone this far in the series you should defiently read this book.

Come on peoples! Lets get realistic here. HE HAS WHITE HAIRS!!They are 14 years apart!! I think that Daine has mental problems. She is off her rocker. She doesn't have a full deck of cards. Numair has the exact same problems

First of I hated how the story ended. As usual, this book is the perfect example of how the endings to series are some of the worst books around. A young teenager marrying and in love with a 60 year old? Come on....at least be a little more realistic shall we?

This book could have been better, I mean she didn't explain what happened between Numaire and Daine after that encounter. I mean she didn't explain anything. I wish she would write a fifth book to clarify things. I respect her as a great author and her books are my my favorite but she needs to write a fifth book. This is my review.

I am a 23 year old who just read this entire series because I found them at the library suddenly. I loved the Alanna series, and I was pleasantly surprised to located another TWO series by Tamora. I think I am proof that people of ALL ages can read these books and be pleased. I was so ensnared I read the first three in one go together. they're romantic.

Ms. Pierce does it again! The book is outstanding from the time Daine finally meets her father to the time she and Numair have fallen in love. Through the whole series you fall in love with the characters and this was an outstanding way to end the series. I wish there was another book (a #5) but what can you do? Once again, SPECTACULAR!

Tamora Pierce is one of my favorite YA authors -- I own and have reread "The Song of the Lioness" series and "The Immortals" series countless times.
Let's be frank: I *love* Daine. I think she's creative, intelligent, compassionate, imperfect -- everything a person wants in a heroine, really. And I like Numair. I enjoy every aspect of that pair's relationship as student as teacher, as friends, and, I hoped, as lovers.
However. I don't know how, but Tamora Pierce managed to completely botch the entire "lovers" thing. "Realms of the Gods" is both hurried and plodding, both too detailed and too vague, both attentive and dismissive, and the dialogue is atrocious. The enmity between Daine and Ozorne is impossible to take seriously; the Daine/Numair scenes are trashy and trite; the battle scenes are confusing and too fast. Most of the standard secondary characters we've come to know and love -- all the humans of Tortall, Kitten, Cloud -- are almost entirely absent. We see almost none of the promising characters from Emperor Mage, like Lindhall Reed and Prince Kaddar. Daine's shapeshifting and Numair's magic are both unremarkable.
Tamora, Tamora, what went wrong?
Perhaps she was hurrying to reach a deadline.
Anyway, my recommendation is to read the first three books of the "Immortals" series, but just get someone to summarize "Realms of the Gods" for you, because it's not worth the time and disappointment it takes to read it. I've reread it several times over the last, oh, six years, each time hoping it's not as miserable as I remember, and it's always worse. Spare yourself and skip ahead to the first book of "Protector of the Small".

I'm a Tamora Pierce freak, and I've read every single one of her books. But I have to say, this book is one of her best!! The little darkings are so cool (even though they're made of blood) and Daine and Numiar make a great couple. I think that this book was a great conclusion to the quartet, but it leaves you with one question...do Daine and Numiar get married?

This book is incredible! I won't describe it at all because it would take away from the story WHEN you read it, not IF, but it is my favourite book that Tamora Pierce has written yet (and I've read about 20 of them) so go and buy it now!! (But read the Song of the Lioness and the first three Immortals first, so the story will make sense :)

I loved this book. I got hooked on the series when i was 12 and have been reading all the Tamora Pirce books i can get. I saw Daine and Numair hooking up in the first book. I think a fifth book should be written, but if it cannot be done, there should be a wedding sence for Daine and Numair in her up comming seris. A little racy for those under 13 unless you're really mature.

I really think that this was the best conclusion that somebody could ask for. I mean it left a little to be desired but that just makes you want to read her next series about tortall. It had everything- romance, humor, adventure, etc. I really thought that this was wonderful on the part of Tamora Pierce- this lives up to the standards set by the Lioness quartet. GREAT JOB MS. PIERCE

This is the best book i've ever read (and i've read alot!) I love the fact that Daine and Numair finally admit that they're in love. But what happens next? You can't just stop her! I mean do they get married or what? I think we should all write to Tamora Pierce and ask her to write another book.

In this case, the last book of the series is the best of them all. If you felt the romance growing between Numair and Daine in the last books wait untill you read this one. This book really wraps it all up wonderfully. When you get to the last sentence you will still wish for more. The Realms of the Gods is by far the best book of the series.

This book is exellent. If you haven't read the series yet, then I HIGHLY suggest that you read it. Daine and Numair really hit it off in this book. I was laughing my head off at some parts (like I did in Emperor Mage). I really hope Daine and Numair get married, even if Numair IS 14 years older than Daine.
GODESS BLESS!

I think the romance with Numair and Daine was long awaited. Upon reading these reviews some found the relationship gross and they must have been blind as to the clues given in the previous books. Their relationship was NEVER father daughter and always hinted at something more. It's storybook love. Get over it.

This is the final book in one of the best series I have ever read! I have read it over and over. I really got to know all the charecters. Athough I can not help hoping there was another book in this series, I think this book is great way to end this enchanting series.

Daine and Numair's minds and magic are strechted to the limit as they travel to the realms of the Gods. Though, in my opinion, the ending leaves questions to be answered, this book is great for anyone who loves fantasy as I do. ~Sailor Panther~

i loved dis book but found that daine never really showed feelins 4 numair b4 this. 4 some1 who starts the sucking face method off numair sure is quick 2 have daine put her shirt back on wen all she was doin it 4 was 2 b headled. Daine did not understand they wer talkin bout somthin more than kissin so y did he act as if she had asked 2 'canoodle'? daines feelins 4 him r 2 all of a sudeen compared 2 him who has like always loved her. im me @ chinchillacraze2

In the middle of all of this is the blossoming romance between Daine and Numair. There were hints that Numair loved Daine in a more than a fatherly way in Emperor Mage and in this book it fully develops. Pierce really illustates this relationship very well, drawing it out, and keeping you in suspense of whether it will really happen. This was something that did not happen in the Alanna books. The relationship between them seemed to me very innocent which made it all the better. The only thing I diliked about this book was you really don't know what ends up happening to Numair and Daine's relationship. Perhaps it will be revealed in Kel's books as Pierce often brings character from past series back.(On of the many things I love about her writing.) I suggust that any fan of Tamora Pierce read this book- I know I absolutely loved it!
