Purchased this book for my toddler-age grandson, and it has quickly become one of his favorites! My daughter tells me it has even been a help during potty training as he loves to sit and "read" it over and over! ?

Adorable pictures! Perfect for a little boy who loves vehicles of all kinds ( I've got two boys and another being born next month)! Too bad it is titled specifically for boys though because I think little girls would also love all the fun vehicles!

Fun illustrations and great word choices expand the vocabulary of a young toddler. My son and daughter both love this book and it has helped them with visual recognition of their letters. Fun book to look through many times over!

I just love this book! I am a speech pathologist in early intervention and we are always looking for a book geared for little boys that will keep their interest. This did just that! The boys love the colorful pages and run to find similar toys that they have to match the pictures. I love the simple words on the pages to work on the vocabulary. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a little boy, for a baby shower gift, or for therapy.

Sturdy book, colorful pictures, just right for a little boy. Little country girls would enjoy the book but would object to the title, as would some truck driving moms! However, I did buy it for a little boy with two older sisters.

Great book! We really like the images and that it’s capitals only, which is what we’re learning right now. Please ignore the feminazi’s giving it one star. Most of them didn’t even buy the book, but were simply appalled anything could be geared toward boys. How dare someone author a book geared to boys and their interests.
News flash: Boys and girls are different. On average different things appeal to boys and girls, they have innate strengths, weakness, inclinations and interests. This has been studied and PROVEN. Not only for human children, but in our closest cousin the chimpanzee. Somehow marketing and taking into account biology is somehow misogynist/chauvinist. Actually it’s capitalist. Market to your customer, don’t try to socially engineer them. We are not gender neutral, and we are not supposed to be. Embrace each others differences, and this doesn’t mean pigeon holing, but recognizing and embracing our very human nature and uniqueness. Appeal to your son’s likely interests and buy this book. If some girls out there like it too great.

This is a beautifully illustrated abc book that helps expand my little boy's vocabulary by using words and images outside of the conventional ABC books, and it truly fits to my child's favorite things as a boy (helicopter, garbage truck, lawn mower, etc.)! As a mom, I especially love V is for Vacuum! How many other stories use vacuum here? None that I have seen as an Early Childhood Educator.

The only reason we are only giving 4 stars is because my little boy is crazy about his construction equipment. On B is for Bulldozer, he gets stuck on this page every time and insists it must say B is for Front Loader because the image is in fact of a Front Loader and not a Bulldozer. (Construction is in his blood, and he recognized that this image should have a rolling track rather than tires, and that the bucket should be flatter and without teeth.) Good grief, I know.

Overall, we really enjoy this book, and we are so happy to have a copy! He loves to have me read it through with him, and it's easy for him to think he's reading it to me!

This book is awesome! The hand drawn illustrations are very well done. It has a simple format which is great for kids, a white page with the picture and letter. Too much clutter on the page, as I've seen in many other books, makes it difficult to focus on the letter being taught. And the letter/picture combinations are simple for a small children first learning their letters. It's full of things that all little boys love...things with wheels!! My son loves it! I highly recommend.

This book has very bright and beautiful, eye-catching illustrations. The font size and style are great for young readers and perfect for circle time, as it can be seen from a distance. Older children could use the image as a writing prompt. I love adding versatile books to the home and school library.

Gorgeous illustrations! My little guy absolutely loved it as he is fascinated with all things that move. I appreciate its simple formatting as it keeps little ones from getting overwhelmed by too many images competing for attention. The pictures capture the child's attention and once you have it its up to you to decide where you take it. I have had many conversations with the three year old sparked by this book. I definitely recommend it for anyone with young children. A lot of people have an issue with the title, but you can easily cover the "for boys" part as another reviewer did as "for boys" is never mentioned again beyond the cover. I'm not bothered by it though. I wish the author would make matching flashcards- my kiddos would love them!

What a relief that this book is so clearly title "for boys." I almost bought this for my baby girl. I would have been shocked and horrified to find her learning about trucks, planes, and construction equipment at such an early age. Her femininity could have been permanently damaged! I really should have been alerted to my oversight by the lack of pink and bows on the cover. But thanks to the clear title I was able to save her from a life as a butch mechanic that none of the boys want to date or marry. Thank you for keeping our daughters safe!

My toddler son enjoys learning the ABC's while looking at items that really interest him and keep his attention! He traces the letters with his fingers and says the name and sound. We love this book!
To folks giving this book a poor review and calling it sexist etc.... we feel that the pictures in this book are more likely to intrigue a boy while other pictures would probably more likely intrigue a girl.... simply because of their inherent natures!! This book is NOT saying that girls can't like or drive trucks, etc... if you have a problem with it, why don't you just buy both the boy and girl versions and read them both!? ??

Thank goodness! An ABC book only for boys! I’m so glad that this book exists so I can talk to my daughter about outdated misogynist stereotypes. After all, girls don’t like trucks. I dare say that girls don’t even need to learn how to read. Thanks for perpetuating sexism.
