I requested this book to review after falling in love with, Waking Hours, by Lis Wiehl. I was unaware that I was starting a series already several books into the Triple Threat series. However, that didn't matter. I quickly fell in love with the characters and grieved with them over the loss of their friend, just as I imagine fans of the series did. Nicole, Allison and Cassidy are known as the a Triple Threat Club. Their professions cause their paths to cross often (FBI agent, federal prosecutor, and crime news reporter, respectively), but their friendship binds them more than their passion for solving crimes. However, when Cassidy ends up murdered, Nicole and Allison will stop at nothing to solve their friend’s murder.

Eyes of Justice has everything that makes a book great. The mystery is compelling and keeps you guessing throughout the book. Wiehl and Henry craft scenes and characters that keep you fully invested in the book from the first page. I love the addition of Ophelia, an autistic woman. Again, the authors did a masterful job of both accurately portraying someone on the spectrum, and pulling you into the character. The message wasn’t as overt as Waking Hours, but it was artfully woven through the book.

Full stars for this mystery. I’m not sure if reading it out of order will spoil the other books, but that didn't stop me from downloading the other three books in the series. Wonderful book!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Things have gone well for the Triple Threat Club in more crimes solved than books published, but now their most critical and personal case has happened- one of their own, murdered.
The first book was a great introduction into these women and how they interact with each other, seeing their similarities and differences. The second book was riveting and dived deeper into the uniqueness of each woman, revealing little nuances of them. The third book had glaring flaws but I got through it.
With this last installment, I felt emotionally connected to each of them and could feel their pain, their hopes, and even cried a couple times at pivotal scenes.
At first, this felt like a thriller filled with scenes of reminiscence over the fallen Triple Threat gal, to the point that I wondered if Lis had read some of Steven James's Patrick Bowers books and wrote a note about adding emotional depth to tragedy. If not, then major kudos to her.
At the end, it becomes more of a conspiracy thriller where the series meets it requiem.
Heartfelt, heartbreaking, bittersweet, and now to let all rest well.

Allison Pierce, federal prosecutor, has had her wayward sister living with her and her husband for almost a year now. Lindsay is finally going to try to open a business of her own. Allison agrees to co-sign on the loan from the bank. While at the bank, Allison goes to the restroom and while there something terrible happens. This on top of the recent death of someone very close to her just about breaks her, but she clings to her faith in God. She wants justice to be served and will not let the guilty go unpunished. As more information comes to light, Allison wonders if what happened at the bank was just a cover-up for something else. Is she safe in her beloved city of Portland?
Nicole Hedges, FBI agent, has resumed her relationship with Leif and is status post breast cancer surgery. Along with Allison, she vows to see justice done no matter the cost regarding the murder of someone close to her. While out jogging, she is almost run over, but puts it down to driver inattention. As she searches for clues to bring a killer to justice, she begins to think maybe she was targeted on purpose. Is someone out to get her?
This is the best of the Triple Threat stories so far in my opinion. I don’t want to reveal much about what happens, so I’ve been brief in my review. There is so much action readers will not be able to stop until the book is finished. I was worn out by the time I turned the last page, but it was worth the time spent. This is just great reading. I have read this author’s other series, The East Salem Trilogy and really enjoyed that series as well. There are surprises, suspense and sadness to keep readers engaged. I don’t know if this is the final book in the series or not, but I’ll be on the lookout for more exciting stories from this author.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from Lis Wiehl. This was my first exposure to her writing and I fell in love with her style. Although this was not the first in the series I didn't have any trouble picking up the story line nor did it feel as though I was lost because I hadn't read the previous works. Each of the characters is well developed. The newest character to be added, Ophelia, is defined well, accommodates the story well and I am sure will be a welcome addition to future works.

If you enjoy crime novels you will enjoy this wonderful book. Lis does a good job and delivers a knock out book.

The story revolves around the Triple Threat Team, a prosecutor, an FBI agent and a television crime reporter. The three women have known each other since high school (although they weren't friends back then) and have teamed up to solve many a crime and bring 'justice' to bear for all involved.

But this time there is a problem. Someone is stalking the team members. At first they don't realize that and it is deadly. But as the story evolves it becomes evident that someone wants to eliminate the entire Triple Threat Team. Why? Who? Those are the two questions that must be answered before everyone is dead.

The team deals with one tragedy and thinks that it has been put to rest when the next tragedy strikes and upsets the apple cart. Then as they are investigating whether they were wrong about the first crime another tragedy strikes. People are being hurt. People are dying. Why? Can whoever is behind all this be caught.

Enter Ophelia, a new character (I understand) to the series. She is brought in to try and help solve some issues and provide insights that the others can not bring to the table at this time. But will she solve the mystery in time to save everyone? Will she prove to be as intelligent and capable as Leif thinks she is? Oh and did I mention that she is odd? Yeah, she is a bit socially awkward. But that's OK because she is stinking rich! Or is it?

When a killer moves in to take down the team how will Ophelia respond? How will Nic and Allison respond? Will the outcome be what you expect? Maybe, maybe not.

That's what makes this writing so good. No one is safe. Wiehl is not afraid to eliminate a character if need be to make the story more riveting. But the question is, will she?

What a great read. Buy the book, get a cup of coffee and settle in for a fun read. Oh, and don't plan on doing anything else until you finish the book because you will be riveted to your seat until you finish.

Yeah, I liked the book and think you will to. Oh, and for my Christian readers, you will enjoy the way the Lis Wiehl weaves her faith into the story and brings about a very realistic look at how many of us approach our relationship with God, it only gets intense as our problems get intense. But then Allison will discover that really God has been in control and He has worked things out in a way that brings Him honor and glory although it might not be how we would work things out.

"The Triple Threat Club" consists of Federal Prosecutor Allison Pierce, FBI investigator Nicole Hedges, and television crime reporter Cassidy Shaw. The three women have known each other since high school, but have very different lives. Their desire to see justice done when a crime is committed helped them form a bond and a close friendship after graduation. They frequently get together to talk about their cases, their lives, and to share decadent desserts like "Triple Threat Chocolate Cake." Then, one evening Cassidy receives an anonymous tip regarding a police cover-up of what really happened during a shooting. This phone call is the beginning of the most heart-breaking of the Triple Threat Club's cases.

I don't want to say too much in my review and ruin the suspense of the story, so I will keep my comments general. There are many twists and turns in this book, some of them shocking and some a bit bizarre. I wasn't sure if I would like the book after a major bombshell is dropped, but I continued ready and enjoyed this book as much as the prior installments in this series. The book is fast-paced and thrilling, even though it is not always pleasant. The central mystery is interesting, and the information about stalkers of public figures is both enlightening and scary.

The book is a well-written thriller with intelligent female characters that support each other, even if they don't always agree. The book also shows how tragedy can shake someone's faith in God and how someone can overcome those doubts. The main characters are as likeable as ever. They are successful in their careers, but have each had to deal with tragedy. A quirky, but effective, private investigator named Ophelia gets involved in the friends' case to makes sure the right person is punished for a tragic murder. Ophelia, whose personality has elements of OCD detective Adrian Monk and computer hacker Lisbeth Salander, is an interesting character and nice addition to this series.

I liked this book even though it has several sad moments, and I really enjoy this series. Fans of James Patterson's "Women's Murder Club" who would like a little less violence and aren't put off by discussions of God and prayer will enjoy "Eyes of Justice", but may want to start with the first book in this excellent "Triple Threat" series.

I received this book from NetGalley through the courtesy of Thomas Nelson publishers in exchange for an honest review.

Eyes of Justice, is the fourth novel in the Triple Threat Club series by Lis Wiehl. When I received this from Booksneeze I was excited, even though I hadn't read the first three. Last year I reviewed Wiehl's paranormal mystery called Waking Hours the first in her new East Salem trilogy. While this novel is part of a series, Wiehl has done an excellent job of allowing it to be read as a standalone. This was a suspenseful read, with lots of twists and characters I enjoyed.

The main characters are three women who all went to high school together, but were never really friends. At a reunion, they discovered they all had a lot in common. The charming Cassidy Shaw is a crime reported at Channel Four. Allison Pierce is a federal prosecutor and Nicole Hedges is an FBI agent. One thing led to another and they all began working in Portland. They got together one evening for dinner and enjoyed themselves immensely. While each has a completely different personality, they bring out the best in each other. That night they shared a rich chocolate dessert. One slice, three forks and they jokingly called themselves the Triple Threat Club. That was six years ago and they have been friends ever since.

When this novel begins, it's Cassidy's turn to choose the restaurant, and she picks loud and Mexican. However, she text the gals that she will be late, when a mysterious caller tells her he has proof that the cops planted a gun to cover up a shooting. Cassidy never makes it to dinner, and the tale that unfolds is suspenseful as Allison and clue driven Nicole search to understand what happened to Cassidy. When Portland PD decides they cannot be involved, they hire Ophelia, an independently wealthy private investigator to help. The tale was very suspenseful, and I didn't figure out who was involved until almost the end.

I really enjoyed Eyes of Justice. Each character has a unique personality. Wiehl did a great job of sharing their personal lives with us as they worked to solve the case. I really liked the new character Ophelia and hope to see more of her in future novels. I became emotionally invested in these women and wanted them to succeed. This is a faith-based novel, but Wiehl doesn't drown us in religious messages. Instead, one of the characters is religious and draws on her faith to help her through the investigation. It felt genuine and not preachy. The plot had a great pace and twists that kept me glued to the book. I consumed this in a few sittings and was thoroughly entertained.

In this exceptional read we have three friends who call themselves, The Triple Threat Club. Cassidy is a TV station crime reporter, Nicole, Investigator for the FBI and Allison Prosecutor for the FBI. The ladies always worked on cases together, even if they were not told to. Friendship between the three was deep and unbreakable, except through death. To my shock the book sails you into the murder of a main player, Cassidy, and puts our other two ladies in grave danger. I was so surprised, I had to keep reading to find out who killed her and why.

As you could well imagine the ladies are totally devastated by the loss of their friend and the knowing that they could well be next. Tragedy strikes again as another close to them is killed. singled out and yet for no apparent reason. More sorrow grips them, however, this does not stop them from diving into the investigation head on, despite stern warning to leave it to the police. The story takes you into many dark corners that involve people that can be deadly. We are introduced to a new character in this read, Ophelia, who although different in so many ways, merges herself with Nicole and Allison to help stop a killer. This is a quick moving read, jumping you from one explosion to another to find this killer before he strikes again. However, author, Lis Wiehl does not leave out the human interest that pulls you into caring what happens to these woman. There is a secret with one of them that will bring a smile even through the tumbling times they are in. Our author certainly brings all pieces together. I enjoyed this read, it held my attention from beginning to end and I look forward to more adventures in the future.

Cassidy, Nicole and Allison have been best friends for the past six years. They call themselves the Triple Threats, a name they got by sharing a triple chocolatey dessert. Cassidy is a reporter, Nicole an FBI agent and Allison a Federal Prosecutor. When Cassidy doesn't show up for one of their planned dinners, Allison and Nicole know something is off. Cassidy doesn't go anywhere without her phone and she isn't picking up.

When they go to her condo and investigate, they find Cassidy stuffed under the kitchen sink, dead. Although they aren't on the case, Nicole and Allison won't rest until justice is done. With the arrival of a new PI, Olivia, to help them with the case, things take a totally different turn. The killer seems to be after more than just Cassidy and may not stop until he has wiped out each threat of the Triple Threat, but will the women find him before it's too late?

Eyes of Justice is the first book I have read by Lis Wiehl. It reminded me alot of Patterson's Women's Murder Club, which I adore. The writing is crisp and clever and kept me up late turning the pages. I really liked how they had a strong faith and the bonds of friendship ran deep. Great characters, a riveting and thrilling murderer to outfox and smart writing, you won't want to miss Eyes of Justice!

Cassidy is a crime reporter. She was just finishing up before she joined her friends, Nicole, FBI Agent and Allison, federal prosecutor for dinner and drinks. Cassidy receives a hot tip. It involves her ex and dirty cops. Cassidy agrees to meet the caller. It seems that Cassidy is on to something as the hot tip turns into something bigger than the Triple Threat group can handle alone. They relay on help from Private Investigator, Olivia.

Eyes of Justice is book four of the Triple Threat books. I was hooked by this series when I read book one, Face of Betrayal. I have grown to really like Cassidy, Niicole and Allison. It is like I am an honorary member of their group. After the bomb dropped in this book to the Triple Threat group, I was momentary shocked. I had to re-read the scence to double check that what I was reading really happened. This does not typically happen to me in a book that I get this invested with the characters or series. These books are quick reads.

I thought that the Triple Threat group did a good job of banding together. The action was non stop. The break out star for me though was Olivia. She was smart as a tack and quick on her feet. She brought a new prospective to the group and I liked that. I felt that Olivia was the one that solved the mystery and Allison and Nicole were kind of along for the ride. I hope that she does stay and she would make a good addition to the Triple Threat. I can not wait to read the next book. Eyes of Justice brings ome hard hitting punches and answers back!

The Triple Threat Club consists of Allison who is a federal prosecutor, Nicole an FBI Special Agent and Cassidy a Channel four crime reporter. They all went to school together but didn't become friends until their 10 year reunion where they found that they were all in similar fields of work. They came up with The Triple Threat Club when they got together for dinner and decided to split the most decadent dessert on the menu, a Triple Threat Chocolate cake.

In this installment of The Triple Threat Club series one of these women is murdered and the other two are left to figure out who did it and why. Being thwarted at every turn they put their jobs on the line to find the killer. A new member is added to the group, Ophelia is a private investigator. Ophelia does well with her cats, but she has a hard time being around people. The first time she meets with the women the idea of sharing a dessert makes her wince with the idea of spreading germs.

Believing that the murder may be an inside job the women do not know whom they can trust. When their lives are also threatened will they be able to find the killer before another one of The Triple Threat Club is murdered?

Did you see that?! One of the main characters in the book is MURDERED! How can you kill off one of the main characters?! I was very shocked when I read that one of the women dies in this book. It kind of set me off for the whole book, I was sad and a little disappointed that the group dynamics now have to change. While Ophelia brings a new kind of quirky to the group I'm going to miss__________!

Hopefully readers are acquainted with both James Patterson's Women's Murder Club and Wiehl's Triple Threat novels...I love both of them--each series pulls together three professional women who have some connection through their work, so that all three know "something" about criminal cases that have occurred. They then get together, share info and work to solve the crime...Good stuff!

This time, though, there is a major change to the Triple Threat group--one of them dies! Of course, readers know that somebody else will fill that slot--will it be the woman who enters this novel later, or will it be somebody else in the future. I "kinda" like the new girl...LOL...but will be patient with Wiehl and Henry to see if she stays...We all know that women have to "click" as a team before they can do their best! And I do enjoy strong female lead characters! You, too, and haven't read a Triple Threat novel? Start with this one!

Cassidy Shaw, a crime reporter, had received a call tipping her on a cover-up story--at the Police Bureau! He had called her because of her earlier story, speaking out against her old boyfriend and his violence toward her. She figured the man calling was also a cop--he was claiming that he had proof that a gun had been plated on a homeless guy who had been killed. Quickly she had pulled up the article on the case that she hadn't covered and read the details. Six cops had been chasing the man who had run and later was killed when he produced a gun and turned on the police.

Cassidy was to be meeting for dinner with friends, Allison Pierce, a federal prosecutor, and Nicole Hedges an FBI agent. This time it was Nicole's turn to pick the restaurant and she chose Puerto Marquez, loud with music, TV, and air-conditions running full blast. It was almost an hour that they had waited for Cassidy before they decided to go find her! As soon as they drove into the parking garage, they began to feel tense instead of being relieved that her car was there. There were signs of her being home, but they found her phone, which she was never without, and then saw the drops of blood...

In a few minutes they found her, she had been stuffed around the pipes under the kitchen sink...

Of course, there was no formal way for Allison and Nicole to work the case. In fact they had been warned to stay away from it--that didn't stop them...

I'm going to jump ahead as they pursued the case, beginning with the assumption that Cassidy's former abusive boyfriend was guilty... and tell a little about Ophelia Moyer, a PI. She was described to them as "a little odd, a little intense, but she's also very competent and very discreet..." And, surprise, she doesn't charge for the services she provides...

Ophelia was far different than their glamorous beautiful reporter friend. They went on to explain their relationship with Cassidy and then through some of the details of the case. Ophelia sat for quite some time and announced that her stepfather had beat both her mother and herself.."Beat us and worse."

And as the conversation flowed, the word justice arose. Ophelia responded by saying she had three special interests: cats, the stock market and helping other women get justice...she then agreed to help them...

Personally, I liked Ophelia. I think she will bring a darker side of women's issues into play, both from her background and with, I am sure, future cases. It is important for justice to be found for women. If you agree, then you must, in my opinion, follow this important series! This is one of the most exciting and suspenseful novels so far. Highly recommended!

Nicole and Allison find their best friend Cassidy--a well known reporter--murdered in her condominium (this isn't really a spoiler, since it happens right in the beginning). Nicole, who works for the FBI, suspects Cassidy's abusive former boyfriend. Allison isn't convinced, since it has been more than a year since they broke up. The suspect list increases when they find out that, like many female newscasters, she had a stalker. But what they don't know is that they may all be in danger. Thankfully, they come across a new potential friend . . . the young and awkward, but intelligent, Ophelia.

This is a gripping tale and written really well. The one thing that's a bit difficult to swallow, however, is that Nicole (especially) and Allison are not shaken to the core by the death of a beloved friend. At first it's just business and they don't even cry upon discovering her. Perhaps it's meant to indicate extreme shock or the fact that they're strong women. However, it's a bit difficult to believe that they wouldn't have been more physically shaken at the events that occur in this book. There are some explanations of grief here and there, especially for Allison, but it just doesn't seem like enough. I do understand a bit since the book might have been bogged down with a lot of mourning, but it also wasn't to the degree of being believable.

Some readers may find it disturbing that this doesn't really come across as a Christian book in content. Cassidy's friend Allison is a Christian and does a bit of what some may see as attempting to pray her friend's soul into Heaven. They also regularly go drinking in bars to the point of getting drunk. One of the characters (Nicole) isn't ashamed to twist the truth to get what she wants. Overall, it's certainly clean compared to mainstream books, but I wanted to point this out nonetheless since some individuals in the targeted audience may not be keen on books with this type of content. It's more of a secular book with some religious content.

I found myself returning to the book again and again, and not being able to put it down. There are a lot of unpredictable twists and turns!

Having read the previous Triple Threat club novels, especially liking the second book in the series, I just couldn't really get into this one. Allison, the federal prosecutor, Nicole, the FBI agent, and Cassidy, the TV crime reporter, are best friends and investigate cases together until one of them is murdered--at the very beginning of the book. That's when the other two, drop everything and began to investigate her case--even though the police officer assigned to her case is best friends with her ex, and well, you can see where that leads. Soon enough they find the killer wasn't just after her--he's after them.

There are some very touching passages about loss and grief, that transcend what most mysteries offer, and look at the issue at a deeper level. The authors are to be commended for that. There's also a very surprising climax, that happens at the bank, where one of the characters goes with her sister to help her open a business--and there's a crazy plot twist that I never saw coming. For me, that was the highlight of the book. However, at the end of the book, I still found myself thinking over the loose ends and being annoyed with the killer's identity--which I thought was cliché. Also, the new character introduced, Olivia, the PI investigator, is an interesting addition and likely to appear in the next book in the series, replacing the murdered character, but I find it difficult to imagine how she would fit into their group of friends in real life. The plot become a little too convenient for reality. Thus, mixed feeling on this one.

The members of the Triple Threat Club--crime reporter Cassidy, FBI agent Nicole, and federal prosecutor Allison--are no strangers to solving crimes. Former federal prosecutor and Fox News analyst Lis Wiehl, with the help of April Henry, has already put the trio through their paces in three previous adventures.

In Eyes of Justice, the fourth entry in the series, Wiehl shakes things up, with one of the club's members murdered. The remaining two members become obsessed with finding the killer, but does the killer also have them in his/her sights? Enter Ophelia -- a rich, reclusive private investigator who wants to help the club find out who killed their friend.

Eyes of Justice is an action-packed novel, full of twists and turns that will keep you off-balance and guessing about the killer's identity until the very end. And even at the end, there are unanswered questions. So is Ophelia officially the third member of the Triple Threat Club? Will there be more Triple Threat Club books? Only time will tell for sure, but it certainly seems likely that the club has found its replacement member.

This book was my first experience with the Triple Threat Club, but I did not feel like I was left in the dark or confused because I hadn't read the first three books. I enjoyed the realness of the characters and the way they interacted. Their unique personalities and abilities combine for an enjoyable read. I love a great mystery, and this definitely was one.

On a scale of 1 to 5, I give Eyes of Justice a 4.

Lack realism. Characters often good practices of their profession to generate suspense. Wiehl and her ghost writer need to work on the threads of the plots to come closer to realism. Failure to draw your weapon when opening a door to a potential crime scene - ouch; permitting a civilian to enter a potential crime scene - ouch ouch . . . When I have to wait for the audio book I want I fall back on Wiehl taking a good amount of bad writing with the good

Although EYES OF JUSTICE is the latest of a series of mysteries, it reads very well as a stand-alone. This is a difficult task for an author to pull off, but Lis Wiehl and April Henry did it admirably well--weaving the backstory seamlessly with the current one so that it neither distracts nor slows the progress.

The novel opens with one of the "triple threat" trio, TV anchor-woman Cassidy Shaw, receiving an anonymous phone tip about a police cover-up. Cassidy agrees to meet with the tipster and thereby misses a dinner engagement with her two best friends: FBI agent, Nicloe Hedges, and Federal prosecutor, Allison Pierce.

The novel then launches into yet another murder investigation--but this time the victim is a member of the triple-threat club. Fast-paced, taut with tension, and filled with suspense, EYES OF JUSTICE was an enjoyable read from beginning to end. I especially liked how the protagonists' high moral integrity contrasted with the novel's backprop of murder and intrigue. A very good book--in more ways than one!

I was disappointed in the first book in this series, Face of Betrayal, on account of inappropriate content and language, but a friend has read the others and said that wasn't the case, so I recently read the second and third, and requested this one, #4, to review. And he was right - no bad language.

The whole series is very suspenseful, but this one was even more so, and had a different twist: one of the three main characters is murdered. Even though it is in the book description, that still threw me for a loop, and made the book all the more interesting, and made the crime all more important for the other two to solve and bring the murderer to justice.

This book, and the ones that precede it, are not overtly Christian. Only one of the characters is a Christian and it is definitely not "preachy", which is a complaint of some readers of Christian fiction. However, it is clean, has a great plot and story line, and a lot of suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and am hoping the series isn't finished

The publisher likens this series, the "Triple Threat" series, to James Patterson's popular "Women's Murder Club" series. And the similarity is there -- this series provides the same sort of thrills and pacing (with less overt violence) as Patterson's. But this series is not a direct copy. The character's are different, and there is a recognition that most American people are religious; this simple insight is worked into the books. (Patterson's series does not do so.)

One reviewer here thought this book is somehow anti-male. I'm a man and I didn't see this. There is a definite nod to career-woman, chick-lit camaraderie, but nothing that is off-putting for the majority of men. That being said, this series' target market is women, and I think women will probably enjoy these works more than the average guy.

While I wouldn't claim "Eyes of Justice" breaks new ground in the genre overall, I enjoyed reading this book and the previous one in the series, too. If I could do it over, I'd start at the beginning with Face of Betrayal (Triple Threat Series #1), book one in the series.

Been following Lis Wiehl's Triple Threat series since the beginning. I was afraid that eventually it would get stale especially since Cheslea Cain's Heartsick series about serial killer is set in the northwest also. But it's a different kind of series based on the friendship that three women hold. This is not a stand alone book. You need to read the whole series in order to get this book's emotion. One of the three women die and the others may very well in order to solve her case. There's a new character in Ophelia that has Asperger's Syndrome and she is interesting in how she is brought into the group. This was an action packed novel that didn't have much soul searching going for it but it was needed to help rejumpstart the series. Can't wait to see what the author decides now. I would highly recommend this series and this book if you are looking for simple murder mysteries.

Lis Wiehl's Triple Threat series takes a very unexpected turn! One of the Triple Threat heroines dies! And the other two are trying to track down her killer, while trying to avoid getting killed themselves.
This is the fourth book in the series by Fox News legal analyst Lis Wiehl (with author April Henry), in which three women--a crime reporter, federal prosecutor and FBI agent, solve crime by day and bond over chips and salsa and margaritas by night. Like all of its predecessors, this book is a great blend of mystery, suspense and chick lit. The friendships between the women are portrayed realistically, complete with occasional insecurities and self-doubts, but also fierce loyalty. The characters mature and progress as the story unfolds.
The murder of one of the main characters is definitely more shocking if you've read the previous books, because you're more emotionally connected to all the characters. So I'd recommend reading the other books in the series first! But then read this one--you're going to love it.Heart of Ice (A Triple Threat Novel)
Wiehl's books read a bit like the script for an episode of CSI, and her experience as a television reporter (and a former prosecutor) has enabled her to create authentic characters. This particular story is a bit edgier than the prior books, especially because the women are trying to solve a murder mystery that they are not specifically assigned to work on--so they have to go "undercover" and keep getting in trouble with the police for interfering.
This is another satisfying mystery, with plenty of unexpected twists and turns. Just when you think you know "whodunnit" the story unfolds in a different direction. I don't want to give away what happens, but you'll definitely be surprised.
Published by Thomas Nelson, the world's largest Christian publisher, the book contains spiritual threads, but is not at all preachy, nor is it about faith. One character, Allison, is obviously a Christian but her faith is depicted mostly by the way that she selflessly tries to help her down-and-out sister (who was introduced earlier in the series), and her friends. When the point of view switches to Allison, we read not only her thoughts but her prayers. I appreciate the subtlety of the faith message in Lis' books--she simply makes her Christian character winsome, but not perfect. It other words, authentic.

The Triple Threat was how they would always refer to themselves. It began after they met at a restaurant for dinner and ordered the most expensive dessert on the menu. Three forks for three amazing ladies that went to school together but never had anything in common until now.

Cassidy Shaw was beautiful and in the public eye as often as she could be. As a top crime reporter for Channel Four, she was known as aggressive in her pursuit of justice for the underdogs. Making sure that she followed any leads possible to make sure that criminals would never get off on a technicality and if they did, she made sure that the public didn't forget about the victim.

Nicole Hedges, is an up and coming top FBI agent now working in Portland, Oregon. Her boyfriend Leif Larson is also an FBI agent and they work well together covering one another's backs when it's necessary.

Allison Pierce is a federal prosecutor, married to a man named Marshall. She and Marshall have been trying to have children but they seem to end up in miscarriage. Her younger sister Lindsay is a recovering addict, trying to stay sober for a year now so she can open a coffee cart in the heart of downtown Portland. Now with Allison's help in co-signing for a loan, she just may make a future for herself.

When Cassidy receives a phone call advising her of a police cover-up involving her ex-boyfriend Rick, also a Portland Police Officer, she is more than interested. It seems when Cassidy went public with Rick's physical abuse, he escaped with a mild counseling session for his anger issues. Now if Cassidy can finally prove that Rick isn't the honest cop he appears to be, she may get the justice she needs. Only when this informant is afraid of retaliation, Cassidy offers to meet him at her apartment. However, when she turns up dead, Allison and Nicole are out to ensure that whatever happened to Cassidy does not fall through the cracks.

In the latest crime suspense thriller, Eyes of Justice by Lis Wiehl and April Henry, the three women are about to get their toughest case yet. Following all kinds of clues in this cat and mouse mystery is what really appeals to the reader. Just when you think you're on the right path, you find you're in a dead end and the ride takes off in a completely different direction. More than 2/3rds of the way through, I still hadn't figured it out and then I got turned around again. I LOVE THIS! I want to be completely challenged. The supporting characters are believable and seeing Nicole and Allison trying to work together to uncover clues is believable considering they aren't allowed to be part of the investigation or risk being fired.

I received this book compliments of Planned TV Arts for my honest review and couldn't put it down. I love a great Christian Murder Suspense Mystery and this one really appealed to me. I would rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars. I can't wait to read more from this incredibly talented author Lis Wiehl, who is not only a New York Times Best-Selling Author but also a Fox News Legal Analyst.

Lis Wiehl and April Henry have outdone themselves yet again. This novel is everything you would expect from a mystery thriller. This book was stunning, unexpected, unique, emotional, and adrenaline rushing. I love the fact that the characters are so alive, and you are immediately swept up into the story. There are no chapters that drag, and it is constantly on the go with suspense. My attention was pulled in with the first chapter, and I was immersed. I didn't want to put it down and I found myself staying up until the wee hours just to get as much reading as I could in.
This is a Christian novel and I love the test of faith and words of wisdom contained within. God`s presence is in almost every chapter, and it is really a great reminder how we are sometimes put to the test in our faith. When times get tough we can't go running, but we need to stand our grounds, and prevail in our faith.
There are a few uncomfortable scenes in the novel that may bother some of you. One such is when Ophelia, the PI, that the women hire, braves a trip to a strip club in order to uncover information about a murder. However, this didn't bother me in the least and actually made the story that much more realistic. Being a thriller dealing in murder it is expected to find yourself thrown into unfortunate scenes and circumstances.
I would have liked to see things turn out differently for the Triple Threat club though. This was both bad and good. In a way it was good because it was totally unexpected, and it made it impossible to guess the outcome of the novel! The Triple Threat women are forced to deal with a murder that is as close as you can get to them. This not only shakes them to the core, but makes them take a closer look at themselves, their life, and their faith. Despite the unfortunate losses in the novel there were also some great causes for celebration. In addition to discovering more about the Triple Threat women whom I've grown to love I am now attached the the newest character added which is Ophelia. She is just so unusual and yet so kind at the same time. She is such an enigma that I'm hoping in the next book to find out more about her.
The one thing I didn't like about this novel is that it really leaves you hanging at the end. Some of the characters don't pick back up, and I was SO curious to see how they would react to certain circumstances as well as to find out what happened to some of them. I can't really go into further details about this without possibly spoiling the novel, but despite my minor dislike I would still recommend this novel to any mystery fanatic. I'm sure that Lis Wiehl, and April Henry will resume where they left off in the next novel. (Hopefully as I am left hanging)
If you like mystery thrillers then I would definitely recommend checking into this novel.

This is not your typical crime novel. It grabs you from the first chapter and pulls you in. The Triple Threat friends are about to have a bad day. It starts when one of them receives a phone call about The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) and a possible cover up they implemented. The person who receives the phone call promises to meet the caller at her home. She is never heard from again. The Triple Threat are down to two friends, will they find justice for their friend's murder before it's too late?

My favorite characters in this story were Judge Fanconi who sentences the first suspect with an impossibly high bail, a kind bartender who gives free drinks and a free dessert to the two friends when he learns the third has been murdered, and Ophelia. Ophelia helps the two friends investigate, is highly intelligent but possesses little knowledge of social skills, and sacrifices her own safety to help out. I was very satisfied that even though this is a police book, there was no profanity in it.

What I didn't like about the story:
Ophelia's investigation leads her to a strip club in the story. There isn't anything offensive described, but it's an uncomfortable scene.
The funeral scene in the story starts out classy and respectful, but then something disturbing takes place and it adds drama to an already tense plot. It struck me as ridiculous and unnecessary.
There isn't any profanity in the story, but many people are killed. Several are shot, one gets his throat cut, one is stabbed and strangled.
Since the police in charge of the investigation are not trusted in the story (one is a rookie and fails to do the job efficiently, one is untrustworthy for specific reasons, and they don't want the two women poking around), it gets to the point where the two friends resort to deceiving one eye witness and the investigating detectives in order to protect one another. It does a great job of complicating the story, but it felt hypocritical and farfetched.

What the reader will read about in detail pertaining to law enforcement:
What's it like to interview a suspect
How to treat a crime scene
What happens in an autopsy
How to analyze fingerprints
What it's like to visit someone in jail
What it's like to investigate a bank robbery
How reporters are critiqued by viewers

There are several references to prayer, the funeral takes place in a church, there are references to faith in God, Psalm 27 is used as a comforting scripture, the Lord 's Prayer is spoken at the funeral, one of the friends wears a cross around her neck, and Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 is spoken at the funeral.

Each of the three friends are strong, intelligent, independent and love their jobs. However they each endure hardship that causes them to reflect on their beliefs. One of them suffers a miscarriage, one survives breast cancer and one breaks out of an abusive relationship with a police officer.

I enjoyed reading how Ophelia deals with communicating with others and her diligence investigating the situation. I was amazed by how smooth the writing is, how each chapter ends with another surprising clue, and how much these women love one another. Both ladies analyze the type of friend they were to their deceased member and deal with their grief throughout the story. Despite their knowledge of the law and how experienced they are at crimes, the murder of their friend makes their perspective personal and they begin to appreciate angles they didn't consider before. It was interesting to see what investigations are like CSI style and I enjoyed the pace of the story. There is a mixture of sadness, suspense, and faith well blended in this book that will keep the reader's interest until the last page.

Review Summary: The fourth installment starts off with a major shock. I don't want to give too much away, but I was very surprised and wondered what the authors planned for an ending. This was probably my least favorite of the series but I did end up enjoying it. The normal calm, cool, and collected Nicole Hedges was everything but in most of this story. Likewise, Allison was not her usual professional self through much of the story. Yet, I did feel for them and their pain at regrets and things left unsaid. Unlike book three, Heart of Ice, the authors do not reveal the antagonist until near the end of the story, which I personally prefer. The story was believable and could have been something you would see on Law and Order.

Digging Deeper: Being the fourth book in the series I've gotten to know the characters and enjoy looking at their lives. Watching the development of Allison's sister, Lindsay, and the growth in her as a person and her relationship with Allison. Similarly, the development of Nicole's relationship with Lief and his bigger role in this story added to the overall story.

As I've mentioned as tragedy hits, Allison and Nicole are very much out of character. It did bother me greatly how combative Nicole becomes at points in the story. Even the straight laced Allison bends rules to suit her needs. A reminder that when we are hurting we don't always use the best judgment.

This story also serves to remind us that we don't know what tomorrow holds and we should treasure each day and each person in our lives. This is a good story. As I said, not my favorite of the series, but with the way the story develops I look forward to the future of the Triple Threat Series.

As the other books in the series this book is not overtly "Christian." There are scenes in the book that refer to social drinking and in one scene Nicole drinks probably more than she should. However, I'm still interested in where the authors will eventually take the story line. You will see changes in Nicole's attitude toward God.

You could probably read this book without reading the others and enjoy the story. You'll understand the characters and appreciate them more if you've read at least one of the previous stories.

Disclaimer: I would like to thank the publishers Thomas Nelson for the opportunity to read and review this book. I'm under no obligation other than to give my honest opinion.

The Triple Threat Club is back. Cassidy Shaw, Allison Pierce and Nicole Hedges met in their exclusive Portland high school, but only became close friends six years ago at their ten-year reunion, when they realised they all worked in different aspects of law enforcement, Cassidy as a TV reporter on the crime watch, Allison as a prosecutor and Nicole as an FBI agent. Over the years they have covered many of the same cases, and it appears they have made enemies.

When one of the Triple Threats is found under her kitchen sink, murdered, the other two are soon seeking justice. But investigating a case they have no official right to be investigating is going to tread on someone's toes... possibly even those of the murderer. The police quickly make an arrest, but the women are concerned that the police may not have the right man, which means the real killer is still out there, planning his next move.

This is a well-written and fast paced thriller, and the fact that the victim is someone that readers of the series know and care about brings the whole thing closer to home in a way that an unknown victim doesn't. The main characters are likeable but not perfect, and we get to know a little more about some of the secondary characters as well. If there is a weakness, it is that there is a lot of focus on the crime and the Triple Threat women, and not much development of their family and colleagues.

Eyes of Justice is the fourth of the Triple Threat Novels, following Face of Betrayal, Hand of Fate and Heart of Ice. It can be read as a standalone, but is probably more enjoyable if read in sequence. I thought Eyes of Justice was excellent, and I will certainly be keen to read the next in the series. Although published and marketed as Christian fiction, only one of the main characters is a Christian, and there is very little `preachiness', so I think this would appeal to all thriller fans, not just those in the Christian market.

All I kept thinking was it seemed like a Christian Women's Murder Club only Patterson does it much better.

Cassidy, Allison, and Nicole fight for justice every day--Cassidy as a crime reporter, Nicole with the FBI, and Allison as a federal prosecutor. Together they're a Triple Threat to be reckoned with.

Ok, this much I will agree with to a certain extent. Once Cassidy is murdered the story goes splat. The remaining two try to solve her murder without actually being part of the investigation. The addition of a potential person for the trio is a sad let down, she is annoying and just not a good choice. The near constant prayers of the prosecutor are not needed, except to make this fit into the Christian Literature category.

Eyes of Justice by Lis Wiehl is the fourth installment of the Triple Threat series. While Cassidy, Nicole, and Allison have joined forces to solve cases before, one of the Triple Threat becomes a victim and the others will have to look past their personal grief in order to solve this crime.

As in other books in the series, this is an incredibly suspenseful story. The crime scenes and legal aspects are so realistic. It's obvious that the author really knows her stuff. As the plot develops and the tension builds, I kept trying to guess "whodunit." Lis does a great job at providing enough twists and turns to keep readers guessing until the last few pages.

While it's not necessary to have read the previous books in the series, it was nice to catch up again with Nicole, Allison, and Cassidy. Allison's crisis of faith was realistic, and I actually liked Nicole better than in previous books. The introduction of Ophelia, a private investigator, is a perfect addition to the team.

The one major draw-back (for me) to this series is that it is SO similar to James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series. I've made the comparison before but it seems that Wiehl is still tracking along with the major plotlines from Patterson's series. I would love to read some new, original stories if this series continues. Also, since this series is billed as Christian fiction, it bears mentioning that there is quite a bit of drinking mentioned throughout the book.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. Lis Wiehl delivers a suspenseful novel that will you have you hanging on until the very last page. [4 stars]

I just finished the book, "Eyes of Justice" by Lis Wiehl. Or maybe I should say I flew through the book in a day - it was that good! This book is about three friends: Cassidy Shaw a crime reporter, Allison Pierce a federal prosecutor, and Nicole Hedges a FBI special agent. They were named a "Triple Threat" because they work together on solving crimes. This is the fourth book in the Triple Threat Club series, and although it's not the first book, I had no problem reading it without having read the first three.

The book opens with a murder very close to home for the Triple Threat ladies...one of their own. From there you are taken on a journey filled with twists and turns in order to track down the killer. Without spoiling the end, I was blown away when the person I thought was the killer ended up not being the killer.

Ms. Wiehl is extremely gifted in suspense writing. I literally had to put the book down halfway through to take a breather from the intense storyline. One thing I really appreciated was the clean way she wrote - no language and no sex - just great writing.

I can't say enough about this book and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great read. Off to buy the first three...

The saga of The Triple Threat team continues fighting crime - only this time it is against one of their own. Cassidy, the TV crime reporter is brutally murdered. Her gruesome body is discovered by her friends Allison, a prosecutor, and Nicole, an FBI agent, when Cassidy fails to join them for dinner.
All of the evidence points to Rick, Cassidy's violent ex-boyfriend. Rick is a cop and Allison and Nicole are not sure justice will be served. Both are reprimanded for meddling in an investigation that is not theirs.
As Nicole and Allison continue to pursue the case on their own, the evidence against Rick begins to look to convenient and they wonder if he was set up. Hampered by their bosses, Nicole and Allison hire a quirky private investigator, Olivia. (She is so quirky I had to look up the meaning of neurotypical.)
And then the unbelievable happens. It looks like someone is out to murder Allison. Will Nicole and Olivia uncover the murderer's identity before he kills every member of The Triple threat team?

If you have not read the earlier novels in this series, you may be a little puzzled at first but the authors have included enough background material that you can certainly enjoy this novel on its own. This is a pretty fast paced novel with continuous action. There is lots of blood, so if that bothers you, this novel is not for you. The Christianity in the novel is subtle but there.

I love a good mystery, and this is a good one.

I received an egalley from the publishers for the purpose of this review.

In this newest installment of the "Triple Threat Club," one of them is murdered. It is so unexpected, so devastating, and all the remaining two can think of is catching the killer. But, the killer may be out to get more than one member of the group. A new character arrives on the scene. Her name is Olivia and while she is young and rich, she is also reclusive and picky about what she does with her time. As a PI she can be. This is a case she wants to help with and dives in. While the investigation takes her places she doesn't want to go, she is after the truth. Will the killer discover who she is and mark her for murder too? Why are Cassidy, Allison, and Nicole targets? Is this fourth novel the end of the series? Come join the ladies in their hunt for a killer.

I was shocked when one of these ladies was murdered and the others became targets. I have really enjoyed reading about these three strong female characters and didn't want any of them to die. But.... Lis Wiehl sucked me right into the story again and it wouldn't let me go until I finished. Olivia was an interesting character to add to the story, and I enjoyed learning more about the others. I recommend this book to all mystery/suspense/murder book readers. You will not be disappointed!

Eyes of Justice (A Triple Threat Novel) by Lis Wiehl and April Henry was the first in the series I have read and, admittedly, definitely not the best one to start with as I really didn't identify with the characters until about halfway through the book. I'm sure readers who are fans of these novels were shocked when a tragedy happens in chapter two.

Allison, Cassidy and Nicole all have careers that bring people to justice. Allison is a prosecutor, Cassidy is a crime journalist and Nicole works for the FBI. As the three often work together and are best friends, they have dubbed themselves "The Triple Threat." When one of the triple threat is murdered, her friends are determined to bring the killer to justice.

There is a lot of real-world crime and tragedy in this book. The authors are not afraid to show the evil side of the world and real-life tragedy is brought to the forefront immediately. Because I had no attachment to these characters, it was hard for me to get into the book at first. It wasn't until I was about halfway through that I became a little more invested and wanted to see the killer brought to justice. For fans of these books, I would say this one is a must-read. For anyone looking to pick up a crime novel, I would suggest starting with another title so you get to know these three women better before picking up Eyes of Justice.

"When One of the Triple Threat is Murdered, All Eyes Turn to Justice"

What!?! Noooo!!! I've loved the Triple Threat Club since book 1, and I was pretty upset when I read the above on the book jacket. But kudos to Lis Wiehl for not being afraid to kill off characters because Eyes Of Justice is the best Triple Threat novel yet. Seriously! The internal tension gets the spotlight as the characters attempt to deal with the loss of their friend, uncooperative law enforcement, and anger, but the action still never lets up. (And the addition of a great new character doesn't hurt either.)

This is the final novel in the Triple Threat Club series, a highly suspenseful and dramatic crime series by Lis Wiehl. Without giving too much away, one of the members of the Triple Threat Club is no longer an active part of the storyline, and a new member is introduced and developed in this story. An elusive and cunning cold-blooded killer is hunting the Triple Threat girls, and the brutality exhibited toward the characters is unsettling to say the least. Christian messages are discreetly woven within the story, and overall it is interesting and fast paced. I didn't really like the fact that one of the previous members was taken out of this story, and I also didn't like it as much as the last book in the series, which was a five star read. Overall, you should read this if you want to finish the series, but otherwise it would be a confusing read. The opinions I have expressed are my own. They called themselves the Triple Threat for their work in detecting and solving crimes. There was Nicole, the steady, quiet FBI agent. Cassidy, the vivacious, bouncy TV crime reporter. Allison, the federal prosecutor. Together, over six years, they had put away scores of criminals and the sky was the limit. Together they had a great friendship and supported each other through life's issues.

But all that changed when Cassidy is murdered herself. Nic and Allison are determined to find out who killed their friend, but the case is quickly solved when the police arrest Cassidy's former lover, an abusive policeman who held a grudge. It was sad but believable, or was it?

Lis Widhl has written a heartstopping, action-drive mystery that grabs the reader by the throat and doesn't let them go. Every clue seems to lead to a dead end and the criminal seems to be miles ahead of the women. Can they solve the murder successfully? This book is recommended for mystery lovers who want fast-paced action.

This book is a pale imitation of James Patterson's Women's Murder club. The intrepid little crime fighting trio consisting of Cassidy, a beautiful tv crime reporter,Allison, a federal prosecutor and Nicole, black FBI agent is broken when the reporter is murdered. Of course everyone (other than the remaining two) is incompetent, unethical or just plain stupid. Along the way they pick up a third memeber,Ophelia, not, mind you a replacement for the deceased Cassidy the reporter. The writing is trite and simplistic and the heroines are stereotypical goody goods with contrived issues. The story is tiresome and it was an effort to slog to the end.

This novel is deamed "christian" largely because the federal prosecutor is always praying. While I actually commend an author for portraying faith in a positive light, I found Allison's constant praying unbelievably phony. Yes,prayer brings comfort and strength to many. However faith in general and Christianity in specific entails more than the recitation of pray. It is too bad that authors go to great lengths to create politically correct little puppets but are afraid to bring to life a person of faith with intelligence and depth. In a similar vein issues of domestic violence and abuse are far more complex than what is presented here. Contrary to popular opinion issues in criminal justice and the dynamics of family/domestic violence far transcend easy black and white, good and bad analysis.

I did not enjoy this book at all. The plot was trite, the characters cardboard and the writing simplistic.

Cassidy, Allison, and Nicole make up the Triple Threat of justice, each working in a different area fighting against crime. When Cassidy, a crime reporter, receives a phone call offering her a tip to catch some bad cops, including her ex-boyfriend, she does not hesitate to take the bait that pulls her to her death. Allison, a DOJ attorney, and Nicole, FBI, discover Cassidy's body, and immediately begin the journey to discover her killer. Along the way, they meet Ophelia, an autistic woman that works to save women in trouble.

This book hooked me from the beginning. I am not sure whether it was the friendship between the three women, their reliance upon God for strength, or the murder mystery. It was highly enjoyable, and a great read. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys crime/murder mysteries. Though this is a part of a series, it works well as a read alone.

After reading the previous books of Lis Wiehl and the Triple threat club i was really excited to review this one. I actual love Christian crime fiction where i get to combine my two passions into one.

Eyes of Justice certainly didn't let me down, it had me hooked from the first few pages. I don't want to share to much of the story as not to give it away but I have to say I was shocked at the beginning at the turn of events and to be honest I wasn't sure how the books would go on but thankfully thanks to great writing it all worked out great, well kind of.

Lis Wiehl offers you a chance to enter into the world of the serial killer at the same time as being filled with faith and hope, strange i know but it works.

It's a great crime story that I loved and it was nice to catch up with old characters and be introduced to new.

It's a easy read and a great way to spend a couple of hours.

This novel about three friends who become two gives a great example of characterization. I could feel the emotion of Nic and Allison after losing their best friend Cassidy. I didn't like the funeral scene although I think it was an attempt to show the sickness of the stalker. I may be wrong, but that scene, although dramatic, seems a bit unrealistic. I hate to admit that the bank scene was a good scene to keep the story going and to continue/add more mystery. Hated to see Lindsey die, but it was a good use of showing how sometimes bad things can happen to people trying to do good. I do think the "she looks just like you" was over the top but.....The scene I did not like was the chase scene. It was a bit hard for me to follow the action. I wish Rick and Det. Jensen could have been brought up again at the end since they were so much a part of the beginning of the story. Overall, though, I like a book that I want to keep reading after each chapter, having me wonder what would happen next. And this novel did just that.

I've been reading Lis Wiehl's Triple Threat series since the first book. They are the kind of books that you get more and more wrapped up in as the series continues. You feel like you really get to know the three friends who make up the group. You see the ups and downs through the cases they work, as well as their personal struggles.

That's what makes Eyes of Justice such a shocker - one of the Triple Threat women becomes the victim, leaving her remaining friends grief-stricken and searching for her killer. I never saw the beginning of this book coming. Ok, I never saw any of this coming! I was floored by the events as the whole story unfolded.

It was a pretty emotional read, but I think this is probably the best book yet of the Triple Threat series. It's a little tricky to really review the book without giving away too much of the plotline, but it's safe to say it's a fantastic read! As always, I look forward to the next book and can't wait to see the new directions the series is sure to go in.
