I've read the entire series and really enjoyed the earlier ones, but maybe it's time for this to end? This installment is highly character driven - the plot revolving around the Scourge is not developed at all - except that we know Terex has been taken over (we knew that at the end of #10, though). So if you don't love the characters, there's not much to love about this book.

Tess was inherently weak - which made her unlikable to me, and Garron was confused over all of his feelings - for his dead wife, for Tess, for his inner spirit, and for his inner Kindred. Their relationship was hesitant, punctuated by lots of "are you sure", "we can go slow" - almost until the book ended. It never felt intense enough - it was tentative at best.

The secondary characters are starting to get annoying. None of them evolve - except to get pregnant. Lauren is making cupcakes, Kat is eating them. Sylvan remains boring and rules-bound. Great series that keep prior characters returning generally demonstrate better character development and growth for these secondary players. These returning characters are cardboard cut-outs.

I haven't been captivated by the series since Lauren's story. They are all starting to blend into similar H's and h's with less and less plot every time. They are no longer great romance, nor are they good enoughg sci-fi. This series will get one more try, and if it isn't considerably better, I'm through with the Kindred.

I promised myself I was done with the Kindred after the last book. None of the characters are evolving and every book is the same-- the h's all whine and are all "wait, I'm not ready, um, um, um" and the H's are either over accommodating or, in this case, fighting their feelings as well. I feel like every single heroine spent 80% of the book on an inner monologue describing how wrong it is to have a sex drive. So frustrating to read. AND, just because it annoyed me, I need to point out that it's impossible (by definition) for an adult to get a greenstick fracture. My God, the character was supposed to be a nurse and she called it that? Do your fact checking Ms. Anderson.

What was she thinking? I Will not be looking forward to the next book. If all your looking for is 200 pages of oral sex, a hero who let's his brother eat (and I do mean literally eat ) his so called true love and whines about it, this is the book for you.

Devoured, the 11th installment of the series Brides of the Kindred, and it's another fantastic addition to the series. You meet and catch up with all the characters from the previous books and meet some new ones.

This story is about Garron a Rai'ku Kindred with a Dr'gin living inside him and waiting to devour him and the woman he comes to love. Tess is running from her abusive husband and needs saving from herself and to become her own woman again. They meet on the Kindred Mother Ship, in the unmated males section, where Tess found the perfect hiding place from Pierce, her ex husband. Garron finds her and inadvertantly send her back into the nightmare of her life with Pierce.

Garron follows Tess, as any Kindred Male would do for his Bride. They save each other again and again until they devour and are devoured by each other.

I absolutely loved this story of Garron and Tess, I laughed with them and cried with them and became cross with them. This is the magic the author, Evangeline Anderson, weaves. You love the world(s) and the characters and can't help becoming insnared in their lives.

I can't wait for the next book.

Devoured is the 11th book in the awesome Brides of The Kindred Series. This is one of my all time favorite series.
I highly suggest reading them in order as this saga has characters and storylines that interact with each other throughout the series.

I love starting each new Kindred book as Evangeline's world building is so exceptional, imaginative and enticing you just jump right back into these fantastic and wonderfully familiar places.

Tess is trying to escape from her abusive, controlling ex husband and hides on the Kindred Ship as a Pairing Puppet.
Besides having to live with repetitive trauma and constant fear Tess is less than confident. She feels her curvy body with her wide hips and generous breasts are not what attracts men, especially a hunky, gorgeous kindred male with mesmerizing turquoise eyes.

Garron has has his own share of traumas to overcome, from an abusive Kindred father to the harsh violent society of his Rai'ku mother and home world. To avoid burdening a potential mate with his past and his dangerous Dr'gin shifter waiting to emerge, Garron seeks to find some release with a Pairing Puppet. Of course he is instantly drawn to Tess, who is finding refuge among the female puppets.

Together they go on a roller coaster of emotions, adventures, dangerous and shocking events, and of course the blossoming of love. The obstacles and struggles they must overcome ends up cementing their bond, and allows them to heal each other. There are some graphically violent and disturbing scenes especially by Tess' ex-husband. This subject is handled handled tactfully and draws attention to the fact that domestic abuse is still prevalent in our world and must be eradicated.
.
I loved the way this couple fits together like two halves of a struggling soul, each has what is needed to heal the other.
Garron's past gives him the ability to understand and patiently support Tess. Despite the hell Tess has had to live through she is resourceful , resilient, and empathetic. Garron discovers only Tess is able to calm his Dr''gin, but is it enough to keep her safe.

True to Evangeline's extraordinary writing are her love scenes, and this couple is no exception. The gradual build up of their romance, physical relationship and fantastic storyline make this an exciting read that you will not want to put down.
The love scenes that the author is renowned for, are as usual 5 star hot, they are also pertinent and always enhance her characters while staying true to their stories. Evangeline definitely knows how the feminine mind ticks.

The Kindred Brides is very much a saga, there are several background stories adding depth and excitement. I love revisiting with characters from the previous books, who continue to interact and play important roles in each story.

The closeness of the women on board the Mothership is awesome, I love their often humorous interactions. Together they are delightful, funny, always supportive and understanding of each other, makes me wish I was part of the group.

Already the story for the next book has been imaginatively woven into this story and there is a sample at the end. Now I am not too patiently looking forward to reading "Enhanced."

I loved "Devoured" it is another fantastic addition to the phenomenal Kindred Brides series

I cannot stop reading this series!! I love it soooo much. I wish there was more about Olivia and Sophia, the original two brides, and their families. They are favorites along with Rast and Nadiah.

Tess Hughes is on the run from her abusive ex-husband. The problem is, he’s a detective and there’s no place on Earth he can’t find her. Solution? Hide somewhere that’s not on Earth—the Kindred Mother Ship. That’s how she winds up posing as Pairing Puppet—one of the robotic mistresses that service the Unmated Males of the Kindred who need a little sexual stress release from time to time. Of course, Tess never actually performs a Pairing Puppet’s duties—she hides every time a new ‘customer’ comes in. But then she gets caught out in the open…at exactly the wrong time.

Garron of the Rai’ku Kindred has a dragon sized problem and it’s living right inside of him. His dr’gin, the ravenous beast that lives inside every Rai’ku male, is trying to get out. Problem is, if Garron lets it escape, it will eat the first person it sees. He’s burning with need and the more his desire grows, the greater the danger to those around him. Desperate to quench his smoldering desire and keep his dr’gin contained, he goes to the Pairing House…and chooses Tess.

Now the two of them are on the run. Expelled from the Mother Ship, Tess is once again menaced by her abusive ex who will stop at nothing to get her back. Garron has sworn to protect her but the beast inside him is more dangerous than any outside threat could be.

Can Garron protect Tess from the man who has sworn to destroy her without letting the beast inside him run free? If not, she will surely be…Devoured.

Warning: "readers with a past history of domestic abuse may find parts of this book disturbing."
Keeping that in mind, she gives us a heartwarming story of two learning to trust when their individual lives so far have been ruled by cruelty and mistrust. I like that she also incorporates a loving deity who believes in them, even though neither character professes any kind of spiritual faith. She does this in a "There are no atheists in foxholes" manner. I also like how she stands up for love in the societies introduced in the story while also showing the reasoning that was behind those societies choices. The author has been informed of red pen issues found in this story.

Garron was forced to leave his homeworld after helping his brother Truth save the Kindred Mothership. Now as he nears his naming day the beast within in that he's kept at day for so long is threatening to come out and he's not sure what to do about his sudden desires. Desires that were taboo on Pax, but according to Truth are a part of being Kindred, unfortunately with his beastly nature allowing those desires out could cause allot of death and destruction to those on the ship, unless he finds another way.

Tess was just trying to hide from her ex in the one place she might be safe, but living in a robot whorehouse on the Mothership comes with it's own risks. And when she's discovered and forced back to Earth her worst nightmare may just be realized, until the man she been strangely dreaming of comes to her rescue.

As they navigate their strange feelings for each other they must also learn to overcome not only their past hurts, but also the dangers lurking in the future.

Tess has had her spirit bent by her evil ex, but she's not broken, throughout it all she's determined to survive and live her life like she's always wanted. Garron is a man trying to contend with what he sees as the evil within in himself. He's sweet and caring and trying to learn how to live outside of his homeworlds extreme ideals. Once he's decides something he commits wholeheartly and for those he cares for he won't let anything happen to them.

The two each have their own insecurities and I loved watching as they learned to overcome them. Even after 11 books this series is still fresh and still keeps you interested, there's always something new and it keeps you coming back for more. I love seeing more and more of these characters in the story line as it develops in each book and it makes me more excited to read even more the series as it comes out.

They honestly keep getting better..

spoilers ahead:

Tess and Garron are an amazing pair. The back story for Tess is wonderful and extremely heart wrenching. Her past is so believable regarding her abuse (both verbal and physical) that you cannot help but start rooting for her the minute her friend gets her to hide in the Pairing Puppet House on the mother ship.

Garron is so repressed regarding any type of physical contact that you almost cringe for him when it comes to the extreme physical urges he has but the mental blocks and shame that he keeps running into. I understood the immediate feelings of betrayal that he felt when he found out Tess wasn't what he thought she was. All I have to say is, THANK GOODNESS for the mate dreams so he was able to help her in time.

I shed some tears when Garron went to get his "implant". I understood why and yet I wanted to yell at the book "you don't have to do this!" right along with Tess.

I had every emotion run through me during this book and I have to admit that I think these Kindred novels are getting better and better the more the series progresses. There are so many layers and characters that this is truly a unique and completely full universe that I can picture clearly in my head as I am getting lost in these books. My only complaint is that there are so many characters that are important from previous books that when they are mentioned in these following books I feel the need to go back and revisit them :)

Length~5 star
Price~5 star
Character development~5 Star
Overall Storyline~5 Star

Devoured by Evangeline Anderson is yet another great installment of "The Brides of Kindred" franchise! Tess is trying to escape from her 'ex' husband Pierce; the man that terrorizes her and refuses to let go. He has manipulated everyone in Tampa because of his position and career within the community. Tess has nowhere to go and her friend Di (short for Diana) helps by stashing her away aboard the Kindred Mothership that circles and protects the planet Earth. While in hiding Tess meets Garron, the Kindred/Rai'ku hybrid and that's where this story truly begins.

As usual (which I love), Evangeline Anderson has written a lovely and intricate tale of overcoming fears, finding love in the most uncommon way possible, and the will to survive! Both of the main protagonist in this story become heroines in the end. He saves her and she saves him...however, I will not reveal HOW! That you will and MUST read for yourself.

I have enjoyed the series thus far and cannot wait to read how Mei-Li and Six journey will be; along with the dreaded reemergence of the Dark Shadow of Ur.

I've enjoyed the entire Kindred series very much and tend to [only] leave reviews for books I like a ton or love (as I simply don't finish books that don't engage me). I've loved a few of the Kindred books, but liked all of them a lot. Both 11 & 12 where LOVES. I think it was the inclusion of more "real-life" drama that held my interest so much more in those last two works. I never noticed the length dragging, and for the first time, Kindred really evoked emotion.

Anderson continues to get better and better, which is the hope for all writers! And these two books, with their exploration of domestic abuse and provocative family dysfunction was right up my alley. Give me the facts, and wrap it in a fantastical package and I'm on board. All the neat Kindred elements are still in place: hot alpha male, reluctant heroine, weird space stuff, and tongue-in-cheek dialog. The stories have meat and bite, and they were great. Cant' wait for 13!

Be prepared for highly erotic reading. Evangeline Anderson creates another winner in the world of the Kindred. This is a series best started at the beginning and read in order. The first four are in a special pack to get you started. The Kindred are huge, sexy alien men who find their wives oftentimes from the women of Earth. The Kindred mother ship is home to the couples from each of the previous books so you see relationships develop and intermingle. I am offering my honest review of this gifted book.

Please be prepared to visit a woman being freed from domestic violence and for explicit language and imagery. Enjoy! She said the next one will be out before summer is gone.

Devoured is a great addition to the Kindred saga. We had met Garon in a previous book, and it was wonderful seeing him so happy with Tess. I kind of saw Tess’s husband’s future as I was reading, and so could not wait for it to happen. Yes the loving was hot, and I think it helped them both to overcome their past abuse.
Just so you know it does help to read the series from the beginning, so you know all of the characters. This book also leaves you waiting for the next book in the series, Enhanced. I want to see Sylvan wake up and realize that Terex/Ur is plotting against the Kindred’s best interest.
I think this added to the overall storyline of the Kindred, and I also like keeping up with some of the characters from past books.

At this point the books just keep getting better and better. I can no longer say I have a fav because I fell in love with each book as the series went on. This series was so amazing. I literally read all 17 books over the past two weeks and couldn't do anything else not even watch my favorite shows because I was so sucked into this world of the kindred. Storyline, characters, and chemistry was amazing. I can't wait for more books in this series to come out!

Devoured.Though a great addition to the series, it wasn't a fave of mine. I think I expected more of a connection between the two main characters and their chemistry fell short. Don't get me wrong, the story is good and it kept my attention. In fact there were many parts of it that shred my emotions to pieces. Both, Tess and Garron, are extremely emotionally scarred and yet find a way to help each other move forward from their troubled pasts. I also liked the fact that the story took place on Earth as to opposed to the Mother Ship or one of the Kindred planets [though I always love the vivid literary picture Evangeline paints when she does describe the different worlds] I thought it was a nice change of pace.

PS Kat NEEDS to have her babies already! The poor woman has been pregnant for AGES ;p

Tess Hughes has found the perfect place to hide from her abusive ex-husband. The Kindred Mothership. However, her hiding place is discovered when she is unable to hide from a male. Soon she is booted off the ship into the arms of her murderous ex-husband, whose plans of ‘punishment’ leave Tess’s future looking bleak and short. Garron cannot believe he found a human woman hiding on the ship and is ashamed of his feelings and reactions to her…but when he sees the future that awaits her on Earth, a future that he has pushed her into, he vows that he will protect her.

I now have another alien on my list of men-i-want-to-be-abducted-by list. Evangeline Anderson has once again got me hooked in to her book by luring hot alien men in front of me. How am I supposed to resist that? This installment in the Brides of the Kindred series gives us Garron’s story, we first meet him in the previous book Divided and I am glad I didn’t have to wait long to see him get his well deserved HEA.

Tess, the heroine of the story was also great, my heart broke for her as you are shown the abuse she has suffered in the past and I loved watching her slowly come to trust Garron, especially as they fit so well together, both in and out the bedroom. In the bedroom the heat was sizzling, and Anderson writes the best dirty talking aliens ever, even the sexually inexperienced ones have got it down. Outside the bedroom, they were just adorable.

This book also continues the story arc of the demon slowly usurping power from the Kindred and trying to start a war with Earth. I can’t wait to see what happens next with this as it adds a great bit of intrigue to the series as well as setting up the next couple in the Kindred series.

I continue to really enjoy this series, it is just the sexy light relief I need and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Evangeline has done it again. I literally Devoured this book in a few hours. My heart broke for Tess in this book but I fell in love with Garron. I wanted the happily ever after but had no idea how it would come about with 2 characters with so much baggage. I don't want to give any details away but it was a worry for no reason. Evangeline has truely got a gift. I enjoyed glimpses of past characters and absolutely cannot wait for Enhanced with Six and Mei-Li.

Just finished Devoured and loved it! Can't wait for the next story coming out this Summer. The only reason I didn't give it a five star was I thought the love scene's between the two main characters were a little to long and took away from the story just a bit, but overall I would definitely recommend this to read if you enjoy paranormal, erotic romance and out of this world sexy men and the women they fall in love with.

Evangeline Anderson, you are my hero. Plain and simple. You write full figured heroines the way that they should be written and males the way that we all want males to act. Like the Kindred. This book was, well it was amazing. Simply put. I loved that you have introduced a new race, the Dr'gyn to this land and I can't wait for the next book in the series. My one and only complaint? The sneak peek for Six was so short. :)

Loved the book, great job and amazing as always! Keep on keeping on and I will keep on buying.
