Very well written with a thorough, yet entertaining, account of what went wrong on Wall Street. The story of the main character also gave insight into the lifestyle of traders and how seductive it was to get caught up in that web.

I liked it this book. I heard some folks complimenting it on Fox News (including Mr. Brount's wife) so that was the reason I selected it. Surprisingly, the most intriguing aspect of the book is Brount's deep understanding of the darker side of marriage. I think he revealed more wisdom about the male-female relationship dynamic than his intended topic...the financial world of NYC.

This book reads quickly. Douglas Brunt's first-person writing style helps the reader get into the head of his main character as he struggles to find himself in the financial jungle of Wall Street.

I highly recommend it!

A wonderfully written book, that is funny and at the same time very informative about the antics on Wall Street. The moral dilemmas raised in the book are well presented, and the outcome is very surprising. A must read!

The revelations about Wall Street are not that shocking, but the degree to which the perps make money is disgusting. They have no ethics, let alone any semblance of morality. Now and then someone decides to blow the whistle, and this book seems to do that in a very entertaining fashion. Great read!!!

A thoroughly enjoyable read. Excellent character development and attention to the exact amount of detail. Conversations and the protagonist's observations of them are spot on. I was caught up in the main characters' relationship and hated to see the story end, at all. Really well done; write more!!!

Very cynical but enjoyable read filled with the personal conflicts and lives willing going the wrong way with the sense of no way back. Seemed to have accurate insight into the easy money world of high finance before the fall. Will definitely read his next.

Ghosts of Manhattan is sensational. Funny, topical, eerily accurate... it has it all. The guys on my trading floor liken it to a cross between Liar's Poker and American Psycho - possibly the highest praise you can get from 20-something traders. Doug Brunt has a great writing style. You will enjoy every page of this.

Am interested in how this story would show how Wall Street ran coming up to the crash. Good story lines on personal stories about the characters in the book. Would have preferred the story to have been more indepth as to how the other big giants in money went down. It did however give a good representative idea as to how much money was made by these greedy people. Have to admit that were it not for the author being married to Meagan Kelly of FoxNews I probably would not have purchased it. I expect his future novels to be better and will look forward to them.

great book! good fluid read with great emotion. you really felt like you were inside all of the chaos going on inside of Farmer's life and mind. you could sense the stress and cynicism pouring out onto the pages. great book sir
can't wait to read your next novel!!

While I have little knowledge of the workings of Wall Street, nor how bond traders interact... this was fiction which made me think that what happened in 2008 had reasons. I had a little better understanding of "derivatives" and other "instruments" than I did prior... but maybe those are fictionalized explanations? I liked the book, I liked author's development of
the characters and how the main marriage worked and did not work. Interesting read.

Very insightful as to the comings and goings of Wall Street. A very good story with a great personal moral debate. If only reality followed the pages of this book as to re-evaluating ones life and goals. Looking forward to his next novel.

This book was an eye opening story about the Wall Street good ol boys who have way to much money and do drugs it seems without conscience. The love story about the main character held the story together.

I will read another book by this author.

Easy interesting read which tells the basic story of the financial meltdown after the congress created the enviorment for this mold to grow. Doug Brunt, husband of Megyn Kelly of FOX News, tells the story from the brokers view, exposing the reason for the colapse.

Having retired from the commercial banking industry, and seeing Megyn interview Douglas, I wanted to read this book. Mr Brunt did a good job trying to put the reader into Bear's office on Wall Street. Because of the bad side of any industry involved with drugs, alcohol, and whatever that was portrayed, I found parts of the book sad to read. Morality became shaded grey, and the players lost their soul. I wasn't unhappy when I finished the book. Doug--now write something uplifting.

This is a wonderful book that I would recommend to anyone interested in Wall Street. The author does an excellent job of laying out the subject and making it easy for even the most novice person to understand.
