If you’re going to bring a character back from the dead, this is how you do it! I approached LYNCHPIN with a certain amount of trepidation because this isn’t the first time that Shannon Mayer has played God (different series), and the previous occurrence didn’t exactly sit well with me. But, there’s no loop hole here, Alex must claw his way through the seven layers of the Veil to rejoin the living, and it was one heck of a climb.

This book takes place six months after BLOOD OF THE LOST, so I really can’t stress enough that you need to read the ten RYLEE ADAMSON novels and three epilogues before attempting this volume. This installment was an eye opener in a lot of ways which was great. We discover how Alex & Rylee met, get the 411 on his family, and learn about the anatomy of the Veil. All things that I’ve been pondering for far too long, so it was a relief to finally get answers.

The seven layers are as follows: 7. Demons 6. Heroes 5. Prison 4. Library 3. Ghosts 2. Past / Present / Future 1. Castle. Naming them off isn’t overly spoiler-y, but will give you a general idea of the obstacles that the protagonist will face. The blurb also does a fair job of surmising the story, so put those two together, and you should be able to get a clear picture of what’s in store.

Here’s the rub, I found that a lot of the secondary impediments were too easily overcome. Alex’s twisted state? Magicked away. His father’s past transgressions? Forgiven. Luca’s stubborn opposition? Frenemy. Given the magnitude of the task at hand I felt like these tangents were overkill. It’s as though the author wanted everything to work out perfectly for the hero, but didn’t want the book to be too long, so cue cop-outs.

LYNCHPIN marks the end of the RYLEE ADAMSON EPILOGUES, however the real conclusion is still to come. ~ 3.5 Stars

I have really enjoyed reading the other books in the Rylee Adamson Epilogues, but LYNCHPIN just didn't fully do it for me. Don't get me wrong I REALLY love Alex and I was REALLY sad when he died, but I have a HUGE issue with people coming back from the dead. Especially when that person died in such a way that Alex did, saving the world and all.

The only thing that made Alex coming back from the dead a little easier to stomach was that Alex had to work really hard to get out of veil. He had a lot of obstacles that he had to overcome and a lot of levels to fight through. Having said that, there were still a lot of issues for me. The dialogue and situations in LYNCHPIN felt artificial and too easy which made it really hard for me to connect with the story.

One of the great things about LYNCHPIN is that we get a lot of answers to some questions we have had since close to the beginning the storyline in the Rylee series. LYNCHPIN also sets up some things for the showdown that happens in the 7th installment of the Elemental series, DESTROYER.

For all those that loved Alex and felt very aggrieved at his sacrifice at the end of the Rylee Adamson series then this one is especially for you, but I cannot stress how much you must have read all of those and the epilogues in order to understand what is going on here. It would also help to have read the Lark books as well. Alex has to work really hard for his journey through the veils and a lot of questions get answered, for both characters and how this fantastic and intriguing world works. I thought I would struggle with the transition of Alex's personality and body but I didn't and his point of view worked really well for me. I'm very curious to see how the world has now changed and some of the view levels were fascinating, I definitely wouldn't mind being caught in the library! The only slight problem with this book for me was that it felt very much like a transition plot, which is exactly what it is I suppose, as the characters are being lined up for a new series with a different cast and setting, which meant for me that the ending came off as a little low key.

However this was an adventure penned by the wonderful Shannon Mayer and as always her stories, the wonderful characters and the non stop action capture you and transport you to a place in a far off fantastical world, one that has gone through a massive transformation. From all the hints that have been dropped for the new series I am incredibly excited, and can't wait to see where this goes. As always whatever Shannon Mayer writes, I love to read.

As we discovered in "Pamela", Alex is back! While I LOVE the return of our much loved hero, I just could not get into the story. I was hoping for so much more. We know from the previous book that Pamela has called to Alex to leave the veil. I had been expecting him to leave the veil and the story would really jump forward, as Shannon's books do. I was expecting a fast paced, action story that really delved deep into our current storyline. Instead, the entire book was Alex inside the veil, attempting to escape all the levels and reflecting on if he was making the right choice. I love Alex and I love Shannon, I just felt a little let down by the book because I was just amazed by all the others. I feel I could have skipped Lynchpin and gone on to the next book and not felt as if I missed much at all. I was really hoping for a reunion in the story and really disappointed that it was all about the escape from the veil and then Alex leaves the farm without talking to any of his friends that are there.

Lynchpin is the fourth and final book in the Rylee Adamson Epilogues, in this last book we see the return of one amazing character. Shannon Mayer sure did make some wishes come true with Alex's return, but what fun would it be to just give him back without also bringing about big things in the process?!?!?! As we see Alex coming forward from his place as the lynchpin we see his love not just for his family but specifically for Pamela who called him forth to help her in a step that is both devastating and necessary for the whole of the supernatural and human worlds. As he takes his journey back to the land of the living to be by Pamela's side and help her in her journey we see glimpses of what may happen and the consequences of this choice. We see again how in this family trust and love are always at the center and no matter what may come they always have each other's backs. I can't imagine this tale ending in a better way!

OMG....Alex has returned....I couldn't wait for this book. It was everything I had hoped it would be and then more. Shannon knows how to keep you on your toes thats foe sure.
Alex has to fight his way out of the veil at every level of it. He died saving the world, then Pamela called him back to save the world a second time. I cried when he died the first time, cause who doesn't love Alex, he is awesome.
I love this book but at the same time I hate it cause it's the last book of the Rylee series. But man what a way to end it. You did good Shannon. Two thumbs up.....
I very, very highly recommend this book after you have read the other Rylee series cause you don't want to read the spoilers first.....

Lynchpin made me squee cry giggle and hope.
Lynchpin is about Rylee Adamsons best friend and lovable companion. In the Rylee Series Alex is your go to trusted person you never doubt Alex for a second!
He is the perfect union of love and trust.
I wont spoiler the Rylee series sooo
I am just glad Alex got his own book.
It fleshed him out even more and you get a good amount of closure to some side stories BUY it opens the door for so much more!

Rylee is amazing but alex made he stay "human" my feeling was that Alex had and has the ability to keep the good up in the world where the bad cheat and lie.

Pick up this book if you loved alex before!

What a way to finish the Rylee Adamson epilogues!!!
Everybody Loves Alex! - a firm favourite character in the Rylee books gets his own story and what a story it is.
Any story about Alex written by Shannon Mayer just had to be good but the visual scenes this book provokes are in a league of their own. It was like watching a film! The descriptions of the places Alex visits are so vivid that I felt like I travelled the whole way through the book right by his side.
It was lovely to get the chance to be inside Alex's beautiful mind as he takes on his pivotal role in the world of Rylee

I really LOVE all the previous Rylee books, including the majority of the epilogues. They were gripping and held my attention from start to finish. With Alex being one of my favorite characters from Rylee’s world, I was excited to read this book and to find out why Pam needed him back so badly in the real world. Unfortunately, it just did not hold my attention as Ms. Mayer’s previous books, and I found myself putting it down and picking it back up too many times. I also feel that it took way to long from Alex to move through all the levels of the Veil. While I understand the trials and tribulations Alex was facing, was to prepare him for his next adventure with Pam. I am very hopeful that book will snap me out of my reading blahs!

Lynchpin is a very fitting end to the Rylee Adamson series with epilogues. When he is called back from the limbo of the seventh veil, he has to take all his knowledge, friendships and courage and meld them together. Each level he has to cross brings up past issues and serious challenges, not only physical but also mental. This is a great book full of ethical dilemmas and unique fight scenes.

Read all her books the epilogue series with Kindle unlimited, and the last book we have to buy????? Tired of being screwed over by authors who make it too paperback and screw over the readers who helped them get there with our great reviews of there books!!!!! If it wasn't for us ,and paying for my kindle unlimited how far would she get in being published? I think the store needs to figure out a way that when a author makes it to paperback we digital readers don't get left out!!!!!!

I feel like it goes without saying that Shannon Mayer has done it again...showing its possible to dig deep and find out who you really are without relying on your entourage. ALEX IS BAAAAAACK and better than ever, still the amazing good hearted sweet wolf we've all grown to know and love but more developed and ready again to take on the world or die trying. Such an in depth look at his journey through the 7 layers of the veil and what kind of inner strength and courage it takes to get through each one. Can't say enough good things about this book, it's like coming home again after being away for so long♡

Lynchpin is great! It was refreshing to read more about Alex and his time in the veil. I was expecting to read more about him and Pamela's story and because of that I found it a litttttle hard to maintain interest in. About halfway through though my interest picked up again. I loved the new friendship Alex formed on his journey. It was also great to learn more about the veil and the different levels. Overall, I think it was great. If you are a fan of the beloved character you won't be disappointed.

They have upped the ante. The stakes are high and we are counting on Larkspur to take all.
Because the dumb humans are at it again. They are bombing anything and everything.
Pamela must roll the dice to start this game. Lark thing must get up to speed and maintain momentum.
Alex's adventure behind the veils is non stop action
Great series.

Getting my words out in complete sentences for this review has been a struggle. I'm torn between the sorrow of the end or the excitement of the promise of more heartbreakingly beautiful words of this story.

I loved getting more of Alex's back ground. I loved seeing him take charge. I loved seeing his love to Pam shine through all of the trials he had to walk through during this story.

My heart healed and broke again for these characters.

I LOVED this latest addition to Rylee's series and we finally get to understand more about the Veil and what the levels are. I don't want to give away the story, but I strongly encourage you to take the time and read the entire series. It is a fast, page turning novel that has many unexpected twists and turns. Another brilliant piece of work from Shannon Mayer, yuppy doody!!!!!!!!! ;)

“World, you ain’t seen nothing yet.” A truer quote could not best describe this last epilogue. In each epilogue, we saw how Rylee's family adjusted and became more self aware. This last story truly wraps up the Tracker tale and Mayer sets us up to find what is beyond the Veil. Sad for the end but content in the characters' path and excited for the future.

Let’s just say that the Riley Adams series ROCKS....
I love how the Author keeps going in the Riley Adams Epilogue Series. You just can’t get enough of all the characters. You want to know more in detail. You just want to know more about everybody. She keeps you interested and he can’t wait for the next in the series. Keep them coming.

This is a great continuation of Alex and Pamela's story along with Rylee and the gang. This follows Alex as he travels out of the 6 layers of the veil. It is a page turner and it is awesome. If you haven't read any of the previous Rylee stories you are missing out. There is drama, suspense, and a whole lot of love! Go read it!

To save the world then turn around months later and undo everything, Disappointing! I was expecting the series to pick up after the final battle with the pack doing more salvages and finding other interesting supernaturals and adventures. Not to save the world again with different characters.

Lynchpin was excellent! Alex had quite a story to tell. There is so much content in each chapter you cannot wait to see what is in the next. To read page by page of Alex's transformation and his own internal struggle was amazing. With full on action this is definitely a winner. Well done!!!

Alex is my favorite character in the Rylee Adamson series, and this epilogue was wonderful. Now we need an epilogue to the epilogue because I'm dying to see what happens to Alex next - does he meet up with Pamela again? I need to know!!

Another great storyline. I have to admit... I was skeptical when given a copy of the first elemental series book Recurve. I read it and was quickly engrossed. I found myself impatiently wanting to find out what happened next. Then it led to the Riley Adamson series and the epilogue. I am now so hooked I can't wait for more.
