Four stars because of the less than sterling style usually penned by Vonnegut. Otherwise morbid, gloomy, disturbing, depressing, and pessimistic but thought provoking. Kurt Vonnegut creates a future when Dr. Kevorkian rules. Even so, I enjoyed the story.

Tough to figure out the title, but fortunately he explains it. An interesting look at the future from the past but still relevant today. Read it, then discuss it with your loved ones. What would you do?

Vonnegut doesn't doesn't disappoint, this is a great short story that keeps the wheels turning through the book, with an ending that I found surprising. I recommend this to anyone looking for a quick read and a good story.

It is impossible to not like Vonnegut, or at least it is impossible for me. This is a short story, and a good one It is not a novel. Interesting, easy to see within the Vonnegut oeuvre; makes perfect sense as a part of his evolving worldview. .

The title for this review really speaks for itself. This short story by Vonnegut quickly sets the stage for a world with a system built around strict population control. A world where being a father is scary, rather than full of joy. This story is worth the couple minutes it takes to finish. Trust me.

Vonnegut has a weirdly great mind. This is a subject many are debating. He has explored one option. Really gives you something to think about and anyone who reads this will think about it for sometime to come. The gene that causes ageing HAS been identified. It's only a matter of time. Books like this one really get you thinking. Could we end up in this situation? Are we headed there now? What is the role of government? Are we giving up too much power to those in high places? Is Agenda 21 the real life aspect of Sci Fi?

This short touches on two important subjects affecting us here in the 21st century.
What is the affect of an ever-increasing lifespan?
PTSD or She'll Shock
However, you are unlikely to like anyone portrayed here, so be warned!

I love Vonnegut. We share the same sense of humor. He makes me laugh out loud while bleakly whispering to myself, "Oh, my God." We both grew up in Indianapolis. Maybe that has something to do with it. If you've never read a story by Vonnegut, this is a good a place to start.

I enjoyed this book. It was shorter than I expected. However, it was thought provoking. This book made me think about life as it is and made me question where our future as a society will lead us. I would suggest this to glass half full type people or anyone who likes thought provoking stories.

I liked this book. It was interesting to think how many modern day authors may have been inspired by this story considering the Hunger Games, Divergent and other similar series of books about the future.
Original for its time.

Nice short read. It gives you an alternate viewpoint of what life could be like in a sort of "utopia," as one may describe it, and what it takes to preserve it. Just how perfect can a perfect world be?

I finished 2BR02B in one sitting, and I enjoyed quite a bit of it. The concept was good, the story was O.K., and it ended just as quickly as it starts. I won't spoil any of the book for you, but I recommend it to anyone with nothing better to do.

This is exactly what you look for from Vonnegut. It's more reminiscent of Slaughterhouse Five than Cat's Cradle or Breakfast of Champions. It's dark, moody, with a sort of grim humor at times in with it's beautifully written description. It's a very Vonnegut look at the dark side of something that would, on the surface, appear to be a dream. It's a short story, but a great one. Love it.

This is an amazing story which warns of the perils that face humans in a perfect society. Everything seems perfect from the outside but the inside is as messy as the society was originally trying to clean up.

Although it's only a short story, Vonnegut approaches over-population and the philosophical divide of society (those who think critically and those who don't think at all) with all his usual flair for character creation and talent for making the absurd seem like a plausible reality.

This is a typical Vonnegut short story. He has touched on the theme of population control in several other short works. This is not his best work, but for a free quick short story it's not bad. By the way, the 0 in the title is pronounced as naught, that pun is actually the highlight of this story.
