What a brilliant writer Kurt Vonnegut was. He had such a fine way of painting a picture in the mind of his reader. This series was a journey and an experience; a roller coaster of intensity of joy, laughter, and sorrow, which evoked emotions that only Vonnegut can bring out in a reader. Full praise!! I can't wait until the holidays to read more of his work.

I love Vonnegut! And this collection of his shorter stories is simply amazing. I love just about every story in this book. A must have for any fan of Vonnegut, especially if you want to see how he masters the genre of short story!

Got here just in time for Christmas as advertised. In good condition and well packaged. It was a bit musty smelling which wasn't listed in the ad but expected with this old of a book. I fixed the smell with some dryer sheets.

Vonnegut writes in the voice of Everyman and Everywoman. Darkly humorous and ominously prescient, read from the vantage point of present day America 2014. Always easy to read, Vonnegut accomplishes what the finest writers do: He makes his readers THINK.

Enjoyed reading Vonnegut's short stories, some humorous, some not, on my Kindle while on vacation. Perfect for dipping into for a brief read before heading out for the next adventure. Remembered what a fabulous writer he is.

The errors introduced by the OCR scan were not removed. It's not even that they missed some, they must not have checked at all, because the name of the main villain in the story "Harrison Bergeron" (one of the all time great stories ever) is horribly botched (Diana Moon Glampers, the US Handicapper General, is now "Diana Moon dampers" [no capitalization!]). Worth $1.99 as today's Kindle special deal, a rotten
value at its regular price.

"Breakfast Joe" Scarborough from MSNBC appeared on Stephen Colbert last week and announce that he is leaving news broadcasting to pursue his lifelong dream of being a rock star. He and his band performed his song "Monkey House." I will not review the song here. I only mention it because it made me remember Kurt Vonnegut's wonderful book of short stories which I haven't read in years. Rereading this collection reinforced my devotion to Vonnegut as my favorite author. This book is a great read, endorsed by money houses everywhere. Please enjoy it thoroughly.

short stories, are sometimes good and sometimes lousy. this is the case here, as expected. some are even excellent, while some are a waste of time all together.
Recommended nontheless thanks to Vonnegut's writing, if not for all of his ideas.

You know, this book paints Life. It looks at society just like with the title story, and Harrison Bergeron and also looks inside the hearts of individuals. There is too much here. Buy this book and read a story a day. You won't be disappointed.
