Part of the Haven Point series, in which we focus on Megan Hamilton, now running what used to be her grandmother's B&B. When Elliot Bailey, big brother to the man Megan had been dating before his death, comes back home and rents one of her cottages, she's not happy. Something about Elliot is unsettling, perhaps because he seems to dislike her. Not that she has given him a reason, but she is just not that comfortable around him.

When Megan learns that he's determined to look into the disappearance of her sister-in-law, Elizabeth, she tells Elliot to go away, that it won't help and might even make more difficult her brother Luke's life. Everyone in town still thinks he had something to do with her disappearance.

But a chance to show off her photographs at a gallery hours away means that Megan ends up riding with Elliot, who's begged a ride with her. He's on the case and won't be dissuaded. And what happens in the car and out of it begins to change the trajectory of each of their hearts.

And when Elliot tells her why he's so insistent on learning the truth, she's not sure what to do with that information. All she knows is that she has to protect her heart from further hurt, something that occurs anyway, when she wrongly thinks he's really planning to use Elizabeth's story in his next crime novel. How all this plays out makes for a riveting story worthy of the series in which it resides.

This is the eighth book in the Haven Point series, which is a spinoff of the Hope’s Crossing series. You don’t need to have read the previous books to enjoy this one but the characters will be remembered fondly as they reappear. I have enjoyed all of the previous books and this one did not disappoint. It is like checking in with old friends and catching up on their lives. Megan and Elliot have known each other for years. Megan was friends with Elliot’s sisters and then dated his brother, he pretty much ignored her and she really wasn’t sure why. He has returned home for his sister, Kat’s , wedding reception . He didn’t think he would be able to attend due to work obligations with the FBI. He was injured in an operation that went bad and decided that his hometown would be a perfect place to recuperate, finish writing his latest true-crime novel as well as attend the reception. He chose to stay in a cottage on the grounds of a B&B owned by Megan. He thought he would be able to write and heal in peace ( he has some very interfering sisters and mother), and think about what his future might hold. Megan cannot believe that he has shown up for three weeks and will be living in the cabin right next to hers. There are numerous conflicts between them. One of which is the fact that Elliot is investigating the disappearance of Megan’s sister-in-law. Elizabeth disappeared seven years prior and many believed Megan’s brother was responsible for her disappearance. I will be keeping this book to reread and look forward to Luke and Elizabeth’s story yet to come.

This new addition to the Haven Point, Idaho series, a romance with a mystery that interferes with Megan Hamilton and Elliot Bailey getting involved as a couple, was a great story. Thoughtfully written, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Megan, as well as her brother, Luke, and his two young children, are struggling to move on after Luke’s wife, Elizabeth, went missing. Megan, whose heart is in her talent as a photographer, owns and runs the Inn and cottages at Haven Point. Elliot Bailey, has temporarily left the FBI and has returned home to family and Haven Point with a shoulder injury. As he is also a true-crime writer, he hopes to finish his latest while recuperating. He stays in Cedarwood Cottage, which happens to be the one next to Megan’s cottage. He has always been in love with Megan, but with his relationship with Luke having previously turned bad, and as close as Megan is with her brother, his chances with her are slim. I am always delighted to be able to read one of RayAnne Thayne’s books, and know that it is guaranteed to be wonderful. Both the Haven Point Series and the Hope’s Crossing series are favorites of mine. I thoroughly enjoyed this new addition to the series, and even though it is a stand alone, and the characters are well explained to any reader that has not read any other book in this series as well as in the Hope’s Crossing series, the other books would be a great addition for anyone who likes a good romance.

When I first started reading THE COTTAGES ON SILVER BEACH, I didn't realize that this was Book #8 in the Haven Point series. I had only read two other books in this series (Serenity Harbor and Sugar Pine Trail) and although I was able to follow along with this particular story, I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more had I been familiar with some of the other characters. I must say, however, that I loved the characters Megan and Elliot. Their history kept them at arms length, although they each harbored feelings that eventually needed to come out. This was a romance with a touch of mystery.

Megan, a talented photographer, owns and runs an Inn that consists of several cottages along Silver Beach, which she inherited from her grandmother. When Elliot Bailey, an FBI agent and the brother of Megan's deceased fiance, rents one of Megan's cabins, past memories cause tension between the two of them and with Luke, Megan's brother, who had been suspected of foul play when his wife went missing several years earlier. Megan is determined to prove her brother's innocence and embarks on a road trip with Elliot to piece together some clues that had not been followed up on.

I love the writing style of RaeAnne Thayne and this series is quite heartwarming with characters that come alive in your mind as you read. I hovered between four and five stars on this one, but settled on four. You can call it four and a half.

RaeAnne Thayne has done it again with The Cottages on Silver Beach. Thayne is wonderful at creating heartbreaking characters and magical towns we all want to live in. In her latest romance, we return to heartwarming Haven Point.
Megan Hamilton and her brother, Luke, have spent their lives trying to overcome a tragic childhood. Now, they work tirelessly to run their family businesses, raise Luke's two adorable children, and combat town gossip.
Elliot Bailey is a childhood friend that has returned to Haven Point to attend his sister's wedding reception. Elliot has secrets of his own and cannot renew his friendship with Luke and Megan as he investigates the mystery surrounding Luke's marriage.
Elliot and Megan are powerfully attracted to one another but can't seem to bridge the gap between their longing for one another and their suspicion and hurt from the past.
Thayne brilliantly creates complex compelling characters that completely capture your heart. You will love the wonderful town and characters of Haven Point and will be completely seduced by the longing and love between Megan and Elliot.
I cannot recommend The Cottages on Silver Beach by RaeAnne Thayne enough!!! Elliot's and Megan's romance it both heartwarming and heartbreaking. You will be captivated by both the mystery and the romance of this wonderful novel!!!

I was sent this book by the publisher. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review.

Have you ever picked up a book and knew within the first few pages you were going to love it? That is how it was with The Cottages of Silver Beach. I had no idea that this was part of a series, but by the time I was on page 12, I was curious about some of the things mentioned. I looked it up and realized it is actually book 8 in the Haven Point series. When Megan mentions Wyatt I knew that I was missing some information. However; this can be read as a standalone and everything comes together in the end.

Anyway, like I mentioned by the time I hit page 12, I was enthralled into this story. I was loving Megan and Elliott. Even though you knew this was going to be about two characters who have a love/hate relationship, it did not take away from the story for me. There was so much more going on around their relationship as well. I do not want to give anything away, but you need to go pick this up if you love a good romance.

I really loved the writing style and the pace of the story. This was my first book by RaeAnne Thayne, but I will be picking up more soon.

Thanks to HQN, NetGalley and Little Bird Publicity for the ARC.
Megan Hamilton is a talented photographer and owner of the Inn at Haven Point. She’s also quite adept at guarding her feelings. When FBI agent Elliot Bailey comes back to town she’s on high alert knowing he could bring down her brother, the prime suspect of a cold case, as well as capture her heart. What she doesn’t know is that Elliot is on leave having disobeyed a direct order. He’s nursing a physical wound and now he has to deal with the re-opened wound of loving Megan from afar but never being able to act on it. What will happen when the two are thrown together?

I love a good road trip and really enjoyed the one that put Megan and Elliot together for several hours. You’ll want to read the latest in the Haven Point series to see if they’ll be able to work through misunderstandings and perceived personal offenses to find their chance for love. As expected, I enjoyed The Cottages on Silver Beach and look forward to the promised follow-up story of Luke and Elizabeth – Megan’s brother and sister-in-law.

Note: Although this book is the 8th in the Haven Point series it can stand alone.

Megan Hamilton is a talented photographer who also owns and runs cottages on Lake Haven. Unfortunately, Elliot Bailey, FBI agent on leave and successful true crime author, moves into the cottage next to hers. He made his reservation online and it’s too late now, she’s stuck with him.

Megan and Elliot have an undeniable chemistry but they also have a past that comes between them. This is part of a series but I feel like it could be read as a stand alone. I loved watching the relationship between Megan and Elliot, the back and forth as they tried to fight their feelings for each other. There is a mystery in the book too. Megan’s brother Luke has been under a cloud of suspicion since his wife disappeared 7 years ago. Elliot wants to look into the case but Megan has mixed emotions. She knows her brother is innocent but isn’t sure Elliot will have an open mind. This was a great read, even with the mystery it left me feeling good at the end. I would give this book 4 1/2 stars. My only gripe was when I got to the end I was upset I would have to wait for the next book. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

This was a wonderful book, thoroughly enjoyed it even though I had not read the other books in the series. This was another great Romance by RaeAnne Thayne. Megan Hamilton had thought Elliot Bailey would never return to Haven Point, at least not to the cottages she owned & managed on Silver Beach. She was very surprised when he showed up one evening moving his belongings into the cabin next to hers. Elliot was an FBI agent & bestselling author who had betrayed Megan's family several years before. This was Elliot's chance to make up for what had happened between him & Megan but little did he know it would be harder than he thought. Ms. Thayne wrote Megan as a very independent and creative but sheltered woman who had dreams of traveling the world & not staying in Haven Point. Elliot had deep feelings for Megan that he kept hidden for years.
I've only read a couple of Ms. Thayne's books but have enjoyed them all.

RaeAnne Thayne speaks to the heart of her readers extracting emotion and joy. The Cottages at Silver Beach is an exceptional edition to the Haven Point series. Main characters Eliott Bailey and Megan Hamilton are well-developed, likable characters. It was a joy reading this novel. The language and writing were soothing. I actually could feel the comfort of being Lake Haven. Loved the descriptions of Megan’s photographs. The mystery of Elizabeth’s disappearance added an element of mystery not noted in previous books in the series. This series especially this edition will appeal to fans of Debbie Macomber books. I especially loved the mixing of the plot and characters from the Haven Point series with characters in the Hope’s Crossing series. It was fun to read references to places like Cafe of Hope and the bead shop. Reading Cottages at Silver Beach made me happy! Anxious to read about Luke and Elizabeth’s story in the next book in the series.

Back at Haven Point for more from a favorite family, the Bailey’s, and re-introduced to Megan Hamilton. We met Megan in a prior Haven Point point book when her families inn burned. The inn has now been refurbished and Megan is in one of the cottages on Silver Beach, on the grounds of The Inn at Haven Point.

Elliot Bailey, decorated FBI agent and best selling author, is in town for his sisters wedding reception. Megan was almost engaged to his brother Wyatt, before he was taken away from her long ago. Wyatt was full of personality. Elliot is serious and solemn. Too bad Elliot made his reservation online. If Megan has spoken to him she may have made excuses as to why he couldn’t stay there. How is she going to avoid him when she is best friends with his sisters?

Is Elliot looking into her brother Luke? Luke’s wife, Elizabeth, went missing years ago and some people think Luke killed her. That was a terrible time for Megan‘s family and she doesn’t want them hurt anymore. Does Luke have unresolved feelings for Megan? Will Megan continue to be suspicious of Luke’s true reasons for being there? Will her family be hurt by Elizabeth’s disappearance being looked into? You will have to read it for yourself to find out.

A very good read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. This is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Fantastic!!!

RaeAnne Thayne writes books with so much heart and warmth!! What I especially like about this book is she throws in a great mystery too!! I could not turn pages fast enough. Completely addictive. All the while, touching a special place in your heart.

I’m so head over heels in love with The Cottages on Silver Beach!!!

RaeAnne Thayne has the magical ability to keep you wanting more! Even while I was reading and thoroughly enjoying Elliot and Megan’s story, I kept finding myself needing more about Luke and Elizabeth. I am completely ecstatic to know they are getting their own book!!! I literally pumped my hand in the air and shouted out a big “YES!”

I love and adore all the characters from Haven Point. They feel like family and words can’t express the warmth I feel when I visit them in Haven Point via RaeAnne’s books.

Without a doubt, a MUST READ!!!

This is a GREAT continuation of the series. I think it's one of my favorite books of hers to date. (And I've read MANY! lol) After watching the rest of the Bailey children get married it's time for the elusive eldest brother, Elliott. Megan Hamilton, whom we met in the first book when her Inn burns down, FINALLY gets her HEA!!! We have watched them circling each other for years but obstacles prohibit their being in the same place at the same time in the "right" frame of mind. For one, she dated his deceased brother years ago, and for another her brother Luke was Elliott’s former BFF, and was accused of murdering his wife when she disappeared 7 years ago and everyone thinks he did it, including Elliott. The bit of mystery and intrigue, is not only a solid addition to the series but helps propel the story forwards and the reader engaged. I truly think this is one of RaeAnne's best books!

This was such a interesting contemporary read. One thing I wasn't expecting was that mystery element in finding out the truth behind Megan's brothers wife's disappearance. It was a bit tough seeing what she was going through seeing how others were treating her brother differently as if he had something wrong. It was interesting seeing Elliot's point on what happened and how he was trying to help out and get to the truth of what happened. I loved seeing the connection between Megan and Elliot and if you love a good book with a bit of romance that is clean then you'll appreciate this book for that because I know I do. I loved that there was a bit of conflict to keep things interesting and a bit of romance to keep things going and the bit of mystery to keep the readers wanting to know what really happened? Overall a pretty enjoyable read, I really liked it.

Megan Hamilton never really liked Elliot Bailey but she always got along well with the rest of his family. She is not at all happy to find out that he has returned to Haven Point for awhile and has rented one of her cottages on Silver Beach; in fact, she's ready to refund his money and send him away!

Elliot has been forced to take time off from his job as a FBI agent so he can use he time to write his next novel and investigate a cold case right here in Haven Point. The answers he finds are not going to please everyone, but Megan truly wants closure for her brother's sake, and is willing to work closely with Elliott.

I was drawn into the story and found it hard to put down and the mystery has an unusual ending.

Thanks to the publisher and to NetGalley for an ARC; all opinions are my own.

I just finished reading The Cottages on Silver Beach by RaeAnne Thayne. I was drawn in by her characters and the complex, "messy" feelings between them. Megan and Elliott, the photographic artist and the FBI agent, had a lot of past history to work through on their way to a loving relationship that neither believed was possible. I love the family loyalty and small town environment. The story was an emotional one for me, and I highly recommend it.

Meagan owns a bed and breakfast. Elliot works for the fbi. Meagan used to go out with his brother until he was killed. Elliot investigated her brother for the disappearance of his wife. Both think neither likes the other but they are wrong they do like each other. This book could be read as a stand alone but it is the 8th book in the series. I got this book from netgalley for an honest review. It was so good. You will not be disappointed.

I always look forward to any new RaeAnne Thayne book, especially when it's set in Haven Point. This is the eighth installment of the series and like all the others in the series it can be read as a stand-alone title. This was a departure from Thayne's usual writing. Not only was it a 'will they end up together romance' but had some unresolved past issues Megan and Elliot had to get beyond before they could trust each other and find the inevitable romance. Some mystery thrown in was a bonus and a nice departure from the typical romance. As with all the RaeAnne Thayne books this was a winner and definitely recommend!

RaeAnne Thayne stories are my one go-to books that I re-read and that I buy immediately. They are heartwarming and just make a reader feel good. Fantastic story about Megan and Elliot. I love to read about Haven Point and the people who live there. This is book number eight in the series by RaeAnne Thayne. She does a tremendous job of making you feel a part of the story. I started reading it and just couldn't put it down, laughing and crying along the way. You feel like you know these characters and would enjoy having them as friends. It was also fun to have the interaction with Hope's Crossing, another of my favorite series by her. Can't wait to read the newest one in the series and I'm hoping to read more about Megan's brother Luke.
