Golden girl and bad boy, laugh out loud humor, first love, lasting love, family loss, personal tragedy, steamy love scenes, reunion of best friends, Christmas and finding ones true self - what more could you ask for in a book to read? Christie Ridgway brings it all together in this Christmas story. I highly recommend this book for you to read.

Bailey has loved Finn since they were kids. She was the good girl and he was the bad boy. She left early for college and didn't even tell Finn why. Ten years later, she comes home to help out with the family business only to find that Finn is staying at his grandmother's house, right next door to her mother. Finn has changed and she really likes the new Finn, but she will not get involved because she knows that kind of thing can't last. Should Finn try to change her mind or should he just move on. His life is already a mess, but he is so drawn to Bailey.

Here's a spicy Christmas story set in Coronado in Southern California. Bailey Sullivan returns home to help her mother with the family business, A Perfect Christmas. In this plot, the girl next door meets up with bad boy, Finn Jacobson, her first boyfriend. Lots of emotions to sort through which gives it more texture than your typical romance story. A nice holiday treat!

Must Love Mistletoe by Christie Ridgway is a fun modern romance. Bailey returns home to run the families Christmas story while her parents marriage is on the rocks. Her highschool love has moved back in with his grandmother for the month. Sparks fly - but they both have some much baggage it is a interesting journey. Check out Book 2 of the series Not Another New Year's (My favorite so far).

Bailey is called back home to save the family Christmas store as her parents have split up and runs smack into Finn (Secret Service agent and old high school flame) visiting his sick grandmother next door. Bailey had left without telling Finn why. I love how they rekindle their relationship and find love again. Her parents finding each other again is a great side story.

The story-line was OK but sometimes the language and the descriptions, I felt, were not appropriate (not really bad - just on the tacky side). I tried picking a new author by choosing by titles and am really sorry I wasted my money on three. One would have been enough. Am I disappointed? Yep!

Title: MUST LOVE MISTLETOE
Series: Holiday Duets #1
Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance, Holiday Romance
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Grammar/editing: A – near perfect
Received from: the store purchase

“God, bless us, every one!” (Tiny Tim, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Charles Dickens)

“Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.” (Susie, IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, Philip VanDoren Stern)

“She believed in him, them, magic. How else… would the girl next door get the bad boy of her dreams?” (Bailey, MUST LOVE MISTLETOE, Christie Ridgway)

MUST LOVE MISTLETOE is the first book in the Holiday Duets series. Each is to be a stand-alone story of one couple’s path to happiness.

It is no secret that I love second chance romance stories, especially Christmas romances. Bailey and Finn are the epitome of a holiday romance done right. They are reunited when family obligations return them each to the small vacation-resort town where they had first met. Her bad boy is all grown up….. his GND (girl next door) is all grown up….and together, the steam is as thick as the California fog at the beach.

This was the first book I have read from Ms. Ridgway. I definitely want to read more.

One final note: Hallmark Channel has had ten years to discover this book. I think we need to help them! This would make an amazing addition to the Hallmark Channel’s Holiday movie selection. I would even include the Christmas facts – on pretty cards like in silent movies.
