Our book club really enjoyed this book. The characters span many generations and are surprisingly enjoyable. A few are not very likable initially, but quirky and interesting, so the author draws you in through them and the main character, Georgia Walker. I am not a knitter, a quilter or a crafter, so I did not pick up the book for that connection. However, I did relate to the book through the diverse personalities and friendships that were established through the knitting circle. The author called in for our book club meeting and that was quite a treat! She was delightful and willing to answer any question we threw at her. This book was a great read and I recommend it to all readers who have or appreciate diverse and multi-generational friendships.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story of friendship and life. The characters are real, living life with all it's challenges and struggles. Sometimes we lose the ones we love. Kate Jacobs does a wonderful job of developing the characters and this is a book I recommend with ease.

Don't let the title fool you. Knitting experience is not required to enjoy this book. It was interesting getting to know the characters. I think book club members would enjoy deciding to which character each feels closest. The different ages and personalities of the women offer much variety. There is even a knitting pattern and recipe included. After reading the brief start of the sequel, I look forward to hearing more about these women.

I enjoyed the book until about the last quarter or so. I got the impression that the author simply didn't know how to end the book in the lines of the rest of the novel and so gave it a 'twist' which seemed somewhat contrived and really not congruent with my desire for an escapist and enjoyable read. Very disappointed I have to say.

I have recently returned to the age old past time of knitting and having found this book really tied in nicely. What a joy to share this tradition with a group of women, no matter what age you are. Sharing your life situations and being there for one another.

The Friday Night Knitting Club is a relaxing read that I really enjoyed. I am an avid reader as well as an an avid knitter so the story line was really appealing to me. The characters in the story were believable. The story presents women's issues from a female perspective, one women can relate to. i think it flows and is well written.

I read both of these books. Enjoyed them. They were a fun and easy read with a pretty good amount of real life drama tossed in to keep things interesting. I enjoyed the characters and loved getting to know them! The story lines range from love and sex to friendship, death and of course knitting. Great book about women!
