I was fortunate enough to have been gifted an ARC copy if Unforgiven by Cat Miller for review! Unforgiven is the second book in the Forbidden Bond series. I had read Unbound, the first book in the series, and LOVED it, so needless to say, I was extremely flattered to be given the opportunity!
Unforgiven starts where Unbound left off. Dani (Soleil) and Chase are at their bonding ceremony, when Dani is abducted by Darren, who still believes that Dani is his mate. In Unbound, he had given her his blood so she would live after The Rogue had almost completely drained her, changing her into a full vampire. This event created a blood bond that was, unfortunately for Darren, one-sided. The Rogue, as we also learned in Unbound, has been kidnapping young vampires and draining them to steal their abilities in his quest for power.
In this book, we get to see much more of Brandi than we were able to see in the last one. Just before Dani's bonding ceremony, she had decided that she wants to stop blending into the shadows and start standing out in her vampire society, so she gave herself a makeover. Much of this book is watching Brandi as she tries to find out who she is and what she wants to be. We also find that Brandi has a surprising new power that she's trying to learn how to control.
In addition to the characters we saw in Unbound, we also get to meet a few fascinating new ones! This includes two new swoon-worthy men who are competing for Brandi's attentions. Greyson, the typical warrior hero and Derek. You thought Cayden was your favorite bad boy? Just wait until you meet Derek.
We also get to watch Derek as he tries to decide whether Brandi is enough of a reason to leave his bad boy lifestyle behind him. Can someone who has forever hidden in the shadows survive in the light? Can Brandi forgive Derek's past transgressions? What will happen to his mother, who Derek believes is being held captive as a guarantee of Derek's complete subservience? Who are really the traitors to the vampire nation. And who is aiding The Rogue financially and slipping him information? For that matter, who is The Rogue exactly? Are you sure?
I enjoyed the fact that Cat gave us several instances where she went back and gave us a completely different side of the story from a completely different character. When I started to feel comfortable with one character, Cat immediately whisked me away to another before I got bored. When I was comfortable with one situation, Cat shook it up a bit for me. There were enough twists and turns to keep me on edge, but not so many to leave me utterly confused.
I also enjoyed the fact that there was very little "fluff" in the book to distract me. Everything that happened, happened for a reason. There wasn't any filler in an attempt to make the book longer.
As she did with Unbound, Cat gave us amazing and colorful characters. Our "leading ladies" are women that we can look up to and respect, even though they make some major mistakes. They show us that it's okay to mess up and it's just part of life. I thoroughly enjoy stories with lessons. It makes me extremely happy to see that this series has several that can be applied in everyday life.
Also, as Cat did with Unbound, she gave me, the reader, a book with a story that I would like to live in for a while. It was very hard for me to put this book down, and the only reason I did, was because I was in dire need of sleep after this book kept me up until 4am.

Between all of the secrets , lies and emotions this book has you reeling with anticipation!! Brandi and Dani grew a sisterly bond that is so touching! I can't even describe how much I loved these characters. Abel is truly amazing and was dealt such a crappy hand at life. Brandi completes him
And together with the help of family and friends alliances are made and all is made right.

I was really impatient to get started on Unforgiven because the author ended the previous book with a major cliffhanger!
I really loved Unbound, the first book in this series, and I'm glad that I enjoyed Unforgiven as much.
It was a big surprise for me that Unforgiven was mainly about Brandi though.
I hadn't read the blurb and assumed the story of Dani and Chase would continue in this second book.
Not that you don't get any Dani and Chase... they're still an important part in this story so I got so read how they were doing after the traumatic event at the end of the first book.
But I wasn't disappionted one bit that the story was about Brandi.
In the previous book I wasn't sure if I liked her or not, but this book made up my mind, I definitely like her!
Throughout the whole book I kept guessing at who The Master/Rogue was, well I never in a million years came close to guessing the right answer.
That was a brilliant and very unexpected twist in the story!
Luckily Unforgiven didn't end up on a cliffhanger but I can't wait to read the next book anyway!

This book made a complete left turn. I was really upset when Tessa and Griffith had the great love story in the previous stories, only to not be together. I mean in the first book I was mad because most of the trouble could have been avoided if the truth was told in the beginning. In the prequel Griffith wanted to change Tessa, but she wanted a baby first. All I can say is that the book was an okay read, but it could have been better if it followed the plot of the previous stories.

I officially love this series! Cat has the ability to create characters you love/hate/want to be friends with/ want to smack upside the head all at once. Oh and her evil characters sure are that, evil. Oh and did I mention hot vamps ;). This book had so many layers to it that I will probably reread it again just to make sure I did not miss anything. I read it so fast because I had to know what was going to happen next. I am not known for my patience hehehe. I can not wait for the next book in this four book series!
If you have not read the first book, Unbound, parts of this story will be very confusing, but I think you could figure out most of what is going on.

Loved it! My issue with this book was Griffin and Tesa. They loved each other so much yet the arthur allowed them to be blood bond to other people. I hate the idea of people being forced into a relationship with folks they don't love or want to be with. The arthur allowed them to settle and that was bulls***. Chase and Danielle was a truly amazing couple. The should have allowed Tesa and Griffin to be together instead of miserable without each other.

This book deserves a 5 star rating for the intricate plot, fascinating characters and beautiful ending.
I can't wait to read any other books for this series due to how amazing the first two have been. Thank you to the author for such a spellbinding story that kept me intrigued from start to finish?

I am in love with Millers story. Everything flows beautifully, the story is superb. I'm a terrible book reviewer, but please just read the series. There are a few errors in spelling and grammar but nothing that would make me not recommend this book. It's long, and for a speed reader, that's a dream come true. The anticipation of what's going to happen had me on the edge! There's things that you think will happen, but nope she delivers something totally different. Refreshing story and I absolutely can not wait for more in this series. Please tell me I'm not the only one who wants to kick nightmare Barbie in her pretentious face?!? Enjoy people, it's worth it.

Both the H and H are not particularly likable. I love drama but creating a convoluted I've triangle only to destroy it with roofies and a night of questionable rape? Why? I am not even finished with the book.

The storyline with all the twists and turns was fantastic. What I did not like was how much the author jumped from one scene to the next or from one character perspective to another. It was a little difficult to follow at times.

After reading Unbound, I couldn't help but want to read this book. While this is an adult book, there is enough left to the imagination in certain scenes that it cannot be classified as erotica. The author does an amazing job in her descriptions of characters and scenes, so much so that you do not have any questions as to what is going on throughout the book. This is the second book in the series, but if you pay careful attention I do not believe you will have a hard time figuring out what is happening in the story line if you're picking up this book first. I can't wait to see what the author comes out with next :)
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Great story, good action, characters well developed. Got more than a little tired of Candi continually getting drugged and kidnapped (the reason I gave it only four stars), but all turned out well in the end.

I love the characters, however I was leery about reading young adult romance who is careless on who they sleep with and multiple partners at one time. I would have enjoyed reading more about Mason and Debbie, Tessa and Griffin or David. Grown up love and commitment.
The storyline is great - just feel more like a teenager novel. I will monitor next in series and only purchased if main characters are more mature.

I picked up the second book, immediately after finishing the first, and will most likely continue with the series. It gets a bit confusing at points, and seems to jump a bit, but over all enjoyable. One thing I didn't care for is the way all of the main females have multiple guys that are completely in love with them. Not just attracted, or interested, or even major lust, but "in love". It dilutes the emotion and makes the "true love" unbelievable. But over all I would recommend.
Note to author: PLEASE tone down the "Lovely" it really became annoying! I started skipping over the storyline because you were using it in place of her name in every single thought Chase had of her. It is a nickname and should be used sparingly and not replace her actual name. She has two of them! Please use one of them instead. (In my opinion you really could have picked a better nickname for her....)

SPOILERS!!!!
I have only gotten through 25% of the book but I have the only reason I need to give 1 star. I hate Griffin! He throws the word love around like he really knows what it is. If you are willing to allow the woman you love to die because you don't want to disappoint your family, then you not only don't love someone, you are a poor excuse of a living being. Not to mention she is the mother of his first child. Of course he had to decide if he was going to acknowledge his daughter in the first place so why would he care anyway.

Please RateUnforgiven (Forbidden Bond Book 2)
Unforgiven is the 2nd book in The Forbidden Bond Series.
The main characters from Unbound are all still a major part of Unforgiven, but this book focuses more of Brandi, Dani's half-sister, who was hiding in the shadows during the first book. Brandi's life has turned into an emotional rollercoaster, and as she attempts to step out into the light, she is fighting to control her powers that have emerged. Brandi's secret is soon discovered, which puts her on the Rogue's radar, as well as surprising her whole family.
A few new characters are introduced including Derek, a minion for the Rogue, who falls in love with Brandi during a kidnapping attempt on Dani. Is he really as bad as he appears, and will history repeat itself by Brandi choosing to follow the path her family would want her too when it comes to choosing a mate.
The book is fast paced, emotional, full of action and has kept the unique spin on vampires making it more entertaining than many of the vampire stories released.
I enjoyed this book just as much, if not more, than Unbound. Luckily Cat Miller didn't fall into a typical trap others do where the same characters get into life or death situations time and time again.
The book contains adult content, so not for the younger YA readers, but is not too explicit that it may upset or insult sensitive readers.
Cat Miller has an amazing writing style, is very descriptive and the storyline will keep you gripped throughout. Definitely a series, and author, to keep watch out for.
