Sapphire Heist is a great ending for Jake and Steph's adventure that began in the Sapphire Affair. The questions about the hidden diamonds are answered and what becomes of Jake and Steph's island tryst is brought to the forefront of the storyline because as their mission unravels the clues and puts the puzzle pieces together, their attraction and feelings for one another grow to the point of no return, which only seems to complicate matters exponentially because despite their attachment to one another, Jake and Steph still have a hard time trusting each other and with how some of the events play out, it's unclear what's going to be ruined first - Steph's belief in her stepdad's innocence, Steph and Jake's partnership, or Jake completing his assignment and moving on to his next adventure without Steph.

The truth is what both Jake and Steph are after, but that truth is not black and white; in fact, it twists into an array of colors where true intentions are exposed and deceptive actions are revealed. Neither Jake nor Steph wants to be played in this high stakes game of cat and mouse, but feelings have a way of getting them into trouble, causing doubts and complications to arise that could destroy their progress in both the case and their personal relationship.

Lauren Blakely does a fantastic job of keeping her characters as well as her readers guessing as to what really happened to the diamonds and if the hero and heroine are playing each other or just pawns in a game that they can never win. Just when I thought I had the heist figured out and felt like Jake and Steph had a real chance at being together beyond their island adventure, the tables are turned once again, leaving me doubting my assessment and working through the clues in order to venture a new hypothesis as to how it all went down.

The Sapphire Heist has a great blend of suspense, drama, and romance. Jake is a man on a mission to right a wrong, and Steph wants to find a way to believe in the good in the people she loves. Both make missteps along the way, which leads them to doubt everyone around them and question what they truly want from one another as well as how they can get the outcome that they want without destroying the progress they’ve made as a couple.

Jake and Steph are quite the dynamic duo - their chemistry resonates off of the pages of the book and their intelligence as well as their hearts lead them down a path neither really wanted to go, but they couldn’t help but travel because what they felt for each other wasn’t something they could let go of regardless of the cost.

Blakely ran away with my heart with this series! I loved every second! The characters were incredible. The storyline was enticing and so much fun! Romance readers are always guaranteed a GREAT time with Lauren Blakely at the helm! This is one summer series that will drive you WILD!

"Take me. I want you to take me."

"I want to have you," he said, his voice low and needy. He was desperate for her. "God, I want to have you."

The heat definitely gets turned up a notch in the second book of the Jewel series. After getting past their doubt with each other's motives, the desperation and the sexual tension go through the roof. These two have never experienced feelings like these, and they want nothing more than to see where it takes them. Even though there seems to be a countdown on the amount of time they have with each other, they try to make the most of it, while still searching for the elusive diamonds that brought them together in the first place.

"You're a perfect woman. I can barely take your awesomeness."

And can I just say that I absolutely LOVED Jake Harlowe! I mean, he isn't your typical "Lauren Blakely Alpha" and I don't think he's meant to be, but he still carries the same characteristics that make us fall completely in love with Blakely's heroes. He just says the sweetest things all the time, and I completely adore him. I also think Steph was the PERFECT match for him. They feed off of each other in such a realistic way. The flirtatious banter will make you melt. It's the cutest back and forth that you've ever read. Swoon-worthy to the max, I might say.

"You're my treasure."

This was so much more that a jewel heist romance. Yes, there was the constant guessing of "who done it?" But, the beautiful, blossoming love story between Jake and Steph just made this series GREAT! I've said in the past, and I'll say it again...I would read pretty much ANYTHING that this woman writes. No matter the genre...no matter the publisher...no matter what people are saying...Lauren Blakely is my GO TO author...my AUTO BUY author...my DROP EVERYTHING author. This series just reminded me just how utterly talented Ms. Blakely is. If you haven't experienced her story telling yet, drop everything and pick up a Blakely book. You will NEVER be disappointed!

“As her lover, he wanted to be supportive and respectful of the family matters, even if they didn’t see eye to eye. But as her partner in un-crime, he wanted her by his side. ”

Lauren Blakely masterfully brings forth another sexy, thrilling, edgy, and intoxicating romantic suspense that shines bright like a diamond!!!! The Sapphire Heist picks off where it last left off in The Sapphire Affair so please be aware that this book can’t be read as standalone. Well with that out of the way, let’s dive back into the conclusion of the Jewel Series and of course reunite with our favorite bounty hunter, Jack Harlowe.

“Life was full of risks, and so was love. She was a risk worth taking.”

In the case of whodunit and millions of dollars of diamonds at stake, Jack and Steph are thrown into a whirlwind of action, suspense, and passion. Trust is something that Steph takes very seriously and so as she embarks whether to trust Jack, she soon begins to succumb to her desires and feelings. And for Jack, one taste of Steph was not enough. Their connection was electric, palpable, intense, and consuming. As these two embark to figure out the mystery of the diamonds, Blakely masterfully weaves duplicity, heart, and sexual chemistry with finesse. In the end, will Jack and Steph discover the biggest heist they will pull off is discovering that real diamond in the rough is their love for each other?

“You’re safe with me. Know that, Steph. Just know that.”

The Sapphire Heist is sexy symphony of chicanery, passion, heart, suspense, and a luminous love story of two unlikely strangers. With Blakely’s signature of steam and playful banter, she creates a story that will hold you hostage as readers are immersed with Jack’s dirty talking mouth and his feisty lovable heroine, Steph. So if you are looking for a series that is a blended version of Ocean’s Eleven, The Thomas Crown Affair, and The Bank Job, then I would highly recommend you to read The Sapphire Affair and The Sapphire Heist. And as an added incentive, Jack Harlowe will have you blushing with his sexy and sinful mouth.

The Sapphire Heist is the second book in the Jewel Series. It must be read after The Sapphire Affair to fully understand the case of the missing diamonds. After a night of passion, Jake and Steph are even more confused...

Steph is beyond hurt and pissed. She thought she could trust Jake after the week they have shared especially after last night but she now has her doubts. She doesn't isn't even 100% sure that Eli is a thief. She doesn't want to believe that the only father she has known could steal millions of dollars from retirees. At this point she can't even trust herself. But what she does know is that she has found a man that makes her laugh, challenges her, and gives her multiple orgasms. But, none of that matters if she can't trust him. Can Jake prove to her that he can be trusted without a doubt? But, there is a twist...can he trust her?

This was only supposed to be a job. In and out. Steph complicated things. They are partners in every way but that can also cause distractions. Jake thinks he is losing his edge because he can't stop thinking about Steph in compromising positions. This isn't just about him. It's about his family. He has to finish this job so he can get back to them. Jake was born to take risks. But is this island tryst worth the risk? She is a pain in the ass after all. The only think is that...he loves that about her.

Now, about the missing diamonds. I will not spoil anything about the heist. I will just say there are twists and turns. I love trying to solve cases like this. Lauren had me. She did an amazing job!!

Overall...I loved it! The characters have amazing chemistry. Have fun banter. And care about their families which makes them even more special. The case of the missing diamonds had me reeling. Who stole them? Who is after them now? Will Jake and Steph find them first?

Quotes:

She kissed like a dream, and he could get lost in these kisses, in this sweet, feisty, fiery woman.

“Then please allow me to help you think straight.”

“Aha! You’re one of those people who hates pumpkin spice lattes. I’ve heard about your kind but have never spotted one in the wild.”

"Sapphire Heist" is the delightful conclusion to Lauren Blakey’s Jewel series.

"Sapphire Heist" picks up right where "Sapphire Affair" leaves off, with Steph questioning her alliance (and her tryst) with Jake.

Driven first by their physical attraction, and then ultimately by mutual interest, Jake and Steph join forces to find out what has happened to $10 million worth of stolen precious blue diamonds. But their reasons for wanting to recover the diamonds couldn’t be more different. For Jake, search and recovery is his job. A job he relies on to help support his siblings, and while that’s certainly personal for Jake, Steph’s reasons hit even closer to home.

For her, the man suspected of stealing the diamonds is also the man Steph has called “dad” for most of her life. He’s also the man who eventually deserted their family, taking all of the financial resources with him. Steph’s reason for being in the Cayman Islands isn’t the diamonds or who has them. She’s here on behalf of her mother to appeal to her step-father Eli’s sense of right and wrong, but when he summarily dismisses the notion, Steph decides that helping Jake recover millions of dollars in stolen diamonds may be the only way to restore her mother’s financial stability.

I loved the multiple facets of connection the author created between these two characters. Their cat-and-mouse antics and witty banter was both funny and endearing, and their off-the-charts red-hot physical attraction was as sizzling as a Cayman sunset. I found myself repeatedly swept away by the author’s descriptive writing. Whether the characters were snorkeling in the waters of Cayman, hiding in an attic of a local church, or satisfying a sweet tooth in a village café, Lauren Blakely’s gift for building a scene put me right there with them.

The "Jewel" series is a fun and sexy summer read. Funny, with enough intrigue and shell game antics to keep the reader turning page after page. It’s just the kind of précis that romantic comedy movies are made of!

Oh, the suspenseful conclusion! Lauren Blakely sure knows how to deliver an edge-of-your-seat story, and The Sapphire Heist is exactly that—with more than a little heat and humor thrown in for good measure.

I’ve been waiting for the chance to read this one since I finished The Sapphire Affair and was left with my jaw dropped and So. Many. Questions. Thankfully, this one picked up right where we left off, and got right into the thick of the story.

Which I loved it. Ms. Blakely used her signature playful and flirty banter to great effect as she threw suspects, red herrings, answers, suspicion, a few more questions, some nuts and all manner of other things at me, to ensure my interest was held. And it was. Held. Captive. To the very end, no less.

I simply couldn’t put this one down, and who could blame me for that? Jake was a dirty-talking alpha, with a soft spot for his girl and his family, and Steph was smart and feisty, and also committed to her family—almost to a fault. It made them the ideal couple. They didn’t always see eye to eye (and there’s the little matter of a stolen diamond to contend with, of course) but they had chemistry in spades and a lot in common. I mean, who’d have thought air fresheners could be so charming... Not me, but why am I surprised?

There’s a reason Ms. Blakely is a favorite of mine, and a go-to author when I need a sure thing. And The Sapphire Heist—and the must read The Sapphire Affair—are most definitely sure things. Smart, sexy and suspenseful, this duet of books are perfect for, well, anyone. But especially for lovers of heist movies and hot, HOT men.

Now, let's talk about this ruby affair… ~ Beth, 5 stars

This begins right after the cliffhanger in The Sapphire Affair. Steph and Jake were having an island tryst and developing a partnership and some trust. But what happens when doubt creeps in? Are they really on the same team or is one of them being made a fool?

This is the second part of this who-dunnit-it missing diamonds caper with multiple antagonists and theories as to what is really going on. They both want answers but for somewhat different reasons. Steph still hopes that she can prove her step-father's innocence while getting some money back for her mother, while Jake just wants to do his job, make criminals pay, and restore missing money. But their smoking hot chemistry tends to distract each other from their investigation at times.

It's a fast-paced adventure of set ups, surveillance, heists, and shenanigans with twists, shifting theories, and diamond hunting in the Cayman Islands. But it is also a romance between two adventurous, fun loving people that have been burned in the past and have trust issues. It is only supposed to be an easy island affair, but could it be more? Their passion is not in question, but they are not supposed to get emotionally involved. They have to decide how many risks they are willing to take and how much they will open up and learn to trust. And they have to figure out what the real prize in the whole situation is.

This is a really fun duet that make perfect summer reads. It has Lauren Blakely's trademark humor, sexual tension, and steam, but with a side of island adventure and suspense. It was fun trying to solve the crimes along with them and determine who the real bad guys or girls were. There were some fun surprises and twists. Steph and Jake were totally likable characters with a great rapport and chemistry and I could not help but hope that they could find a way to find their way towards happiness. And it was sure fun going on the trip with them.

The Sapphire Heist is the second and final book in Lauren Blakely’s Jewel Series. I thought this book was better than book 1. There was so much to this book, it kept me intrigued all the way through. When I thought the story was done and everything explained….Lauren went and threw me for a loop.

This book just like the first book was everything I expect when I read a Lauren Blakely book. She gives us amazing characters, a captivating storyline, humor, romance, suspense and overall a story that will leave me with a smile on my face.

This is another book I can’t say much about the storyline, but I will say this was a great conclusion to Steph and Jake’s story. All the questions that were raised in book 1 were answered in this book. As well as she added some other surprises and shockers you don’t expect!!! I loved watching Jake and Steph open up to each other. What happens though when their trust and faith is tested? Will Steph and Jake be able to trust each other and make things work out?? To get that answer you have to read this book.

As always with a Lauren Blakely book, her writing is flawless and effortless. Her pace and flow is spot on. I always enjoy her books. She has yet to write a book that has disappointed me. She will always be an automatic read for me. I will read any book she releases.

So I would for sure recommend this series to anyone who is a fan of the heist type story. If you like a book that has romance, suspense, and steamy sex, this is the series to read. If you are a fan of Lauren’s already, then these books you don’t want to miss!!!

Having partnered up to solve a case of diamonds gone missing, Steph Anderson and Jake Harlowe are finding that business and pleasure make wonderful bedfellows. But figuring out whodunit, along with taking the leap to trust each other completely, is proving to be a bit harder than they'd anticipated.

Like any good heist story, this second book in the Jewel series by author Lauren Blakely is chock-full of twists, turns, red herrings, and dead ends. Figuring out who the bad guys are had me working hard to assemble the clues that Lauren dropped like the veritable trail of breadcrumbs. After all, the fun is in the guessing, and she has done a great job of continuing to weave a web of intrigue, passion, and adventure.

I love the dynamic between Jake and Steph, and, although I'm not an insta-love kind of gal, giving myself over and going with the flow was easy to do because I like them so much as a couple. I could totally see them as a Bogey and Bacall or Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy kind of twosome, and I thoroughly enjoyed solving the mystery along with them. Their chemistry continues to set off fireworks, but the marriage of their minds is the real treat here. Add in the tropical paradise that I could almost see, the thrill of the hunt, and a thoroughly satisfying wrap-up, and THE SAPPHIRE HEIST is 5 stars of reading pleasure. I highly recommend this book duo, and surely would not mind seeing more of these characters in the future.

The Sapphire Heist picked up right where The Sapphire Affair finished and left you with a million unanswered questions. Steph is also left wondering who is telling the truth, who should be believed and just what the hell is actually going on! People aren't who they seem to be and no one is be trusted.

The only thing she trust is that her connection to Jake is intense and serious and she decides to keep going on with him as she doesn't want to cut ties with him just yet but she still doesn't trust him.

This thrilling finale will keep you on the edge of your seat with all the twists, turns and suspense thrown at you and some very, very sexy scenes to keep that part of your fulfilled as well. It's fantastic!

We pick up right after we left off of Saphnire Affair. Sapphire Heist will keep you full of suspense. Just when you think someone is involved, Lauren Blakely proves you wrong.

Love, suspense and quick banter between Jake and Steph will make you not put this book down. Really loved reading Heist and I was guessing who the criminal was in the Caymans. But when Jake is done working his assignment, what would happen between him and Steph? Ending their Island tryst or move forward into a relationship.

Loved the interaction between Steph and Jake. I kept rooting for them to have their happy ending and for them "not behaving like a cat."

The Sapphire Heist picks up where The Sapphire Affair ended and you really need to read that first! Steph and Jake both have trust issues and after an incredible night of passion, their trust is tested. They need to work together to find the missing diamonds, but when everyone around them becomes a suspect Jake and Steph need to focus. The bigger problem is they only want to focus on each other. Being together, laughing, talking, getting naked…it's becoming more important than actually finding the diamonds. When there's more at stake than just the jewels, will Jake and Steph be able to walk away…together? I love this couple! They are such a Lauren Blakely couple! Sexy, funny, smart, driven and dedicated. They have amazing chemistry and witty banter. The writing is fresh, the story unique and it left me wanting more!

"Aha! You're one of those people who hates pumpkin spice lattes. I've heard about your kind but have never spotted on in the wild."

Kissing was good, sex was fantastic, but holding hands? That was magical.

"You're the perfect woman. I can barely take your awesomeness."

The scandal, suspense and steamy chemistry continue in this follow up to the The Sapphire Affair. Things definitely heated up as Steph and Jake navigated their ever increasing feelings further complicated by their respective relationship histories. Trust was not something that came easy to either one and that exacerbated an already intense situation as they raced to solve the mystery.

I loved seeing Steph and Jake succumb without reservation. It was sweet bliss to see them uninhibited and unencumbered - plus it was HOT - something Blakely does well with her stories! I once again hung on every word and my mind raced as the story unfolded. I am pleased to report my suspicions were almost correct...almost...but no spoilers from me. The story took plenty of twists to keep me turning the pages and anxious for the conclusion.

I thoroughly enjoyed this new series and I am hopeful that little tid-bit in the end means there is more to come from Steph and Jake.

I have always loved Lauren's writing. It seems like each book is better then the last. This books picks up where the last left off. I was on pins and needles. Who did what, is Jake really a bad guy? I felt such a connection with these characters. I was rooting for them both to come out on top. The book was a quick read but I couldn't put it down. The plot will hold your interest with the steamy romance and genuine mystery. I loved the pace of these two falling in love. It wasn't instant and felt like a real life love story with real struggles. I can really see this series are a movie I enjoyed every part. I really peeks my interest into what Lauren will come up with next. I suggest you pick up this series you will not be disappointed.

This book held me captive from beginning to end! The banter between the Jake and Steph is fantastic, and I simply couldn’t get enough! I’m in LOVE with Jake. Absolutely loved this book! The second part of our story gets more interesting as you read it. Jake and Steph are still trying to solve the mystery of the diamonds and whether Eli really did steal from his own company as well as trusting each other. Both have been burned before and are hoping the other doesn't do it to them again. This story had me guessing until almost the very end as to who the real thieves were and where the diamonds were hidden. Through it all Jake and Steph learn to trust in each other and there love. I really enjoyed this book. It was different from other books by Lauren, more mystery and suspense. And just as much romance and humor as her other great books!

The Sapphire Heist picks up right where The Sapphire Affair left off and it is fabulous! Lauren Blakely really nailed this sexy, funny and suspenseful series and I don't think it is possible to love it any more than I did. The characters are strong, perfectly written and compliment each other perfectly. The sexy times are super steamy and textbook Blakely, which any fan of hers will jump for joy over. The story is filled with suspense as Steph and Jake try to solve the mystery of the missing diamonds. There are so many twists and turns that just when the reader thinks they have it all figured out...BAM....another curve ball is thrown. The mystery was perfectly executed and left me on the edge of my seat, dying to know what really happened. The reader will be rewarded with answers to all of their questions and a satisfying ending that is sure to please. The Sapphire Heist by Lauren Blakely is the second book in her new Jewel series. It is the concluding story of Jake and Steph and the infamous missing diamonds they've been searching for. Picking up right where book one left us hanging, we get more emotional ups and downs between our two main characters who can't quite decide if it was lust at first sight or if they can trust the other one enough to slide lust over to love. Then we have the missing diamonds. Who has them? Who is after them? Who is going to get hurt in the search for them? Answers to these questions and so many more are cleverly revealed as the story progresses to it's wonderful conclusion.

I received an ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

In book 2, the conclusion of Jake and Steph's story, Lauren Blakely turns the heat up a little bit more while ensuring she kept us enthralled with the mystery of whether or not they would recover the diamonds. When I found out who was behind everything, I was extremely surprised. Enter: plot twist!! At one point, Steph actually backs out of the mission because the thought of her stepdad being crooked just turns her stomach. She knew he'd left her mom high and dry, but skimming off the top of the hedge fund he founded was another story. Then trying to figure out where the money had disappeared to or how he and his fiancée had converted it to diamonds was just too much for her to handle, especially when it got to the point where her life could have been in danger, to the point where she actually moves her things to Jake's hotel room to stay with him for security. After her diamond had been stolen and they'd noticed they were being followed, they couldn't be too careful.

As much as I've loved all of Lauren Blakely's work, I was hoping for more of that sexy spark that she always brings. Don't get me wrong, there are definite sexy times, but this one takes us through the ins and outs of Jake's determination to solve the case and bring justice to the customers of the Eli Fund, while hoping he can maintain his edge as a bounty hunter/recovery expert with the new feelings surfacing for Steph. Both of the figured this would just be an island tryst, but when their trust in each other is tested more than once, they realize that temporary just won't work.

The ending of the first book had me in anticipation of how Jake and Steph’s story would end. Was Jake not what he seemed? Suspense, drama, and of course romance are the key features in this story. Who took the diamonds? Did Eli really do what was said of him? What is going on in the Caymans? Lauren had me completely guessing as to how this would all play out. The only thing that I knew for sure was the intense chemistry between Jake and Steph. They may or may not be on opposites sides but neither could deny how they felt towards each other. I don’t want to give away the plot of the book so you would just have to read it to see where Lauren takes us. There are a lot of twists to all of these characters and the storyline. This was a great mix of romance and suspense. Overall, an intriguing sexy read that will keep you hooked.

What a thrilling and sexy conclusion to this story! After the cliffhanger from the first book, we are left wondering what will happen next and who is behind the mystery. But at the center is still the attraction and chemistry between Jake and Steph. They are not sure if they can truly trust each other which is very important to both of them. I appreciate that Ms Blakely writes strong, dynamic characters without resorting to angst to fuel the plot. This allows the story to be all about the thrill of uncovering clues, the excitement of the chase, the fun and sexy banter, and the intense and fiery passion. Blakely takes us on an exhilarating journey, revealing just enough clues and plot twists to keep you guessing and unable to stop turning the pages until the very end and possibly beyond?

Ms. Blakely is a masterful story teller. She likes to take her readers to the edge by writing provocative stories that merge suspense, romance and good versus evil. Her imaginative narrative is composed in such a way that at times there is difficulty in determining who the culprits are. The Jewel series has the adventure, the puzzle and the heated attraction of forbidden romance. The Sapphire Heist is the continuation to The Jewel Affair. Steph and Jake are on the run searching for answers, fighting an attraction and with the mystery surrounding the stolen jewels, questioning if they should trust each other. Each new twists, had me spellbound and the flames thrown in this heated battle of intrigue is worth the burn and red herrings thrown in for good measure.

Just when you think you figured it out the unexpected is thrown in. Jake and Steph have a strong attraction and hotter chemistry that has you panting. Will the doubts keep them apart? Will they allow their attraction distract them from getting the job done? Can they learn to trust each other? I loved the characters and banter between Jake and Steph. This is a great read. The conclusion of this sexy series kept me guessing till the very end. The last book left me with my mouth hanging open and I just couldn't wait to see how this couple would work things out. I adored Jake and Steph and their sizzling chemistry. They had obstacles that went beyond the mystery of their search for diamonds. Their mistrust due to past betrayal caused them some angst and for a time I was pretty irritated with both of them. They both were stubborn at times yet thankfully their growing feelings helped them work things out a long with sweet and funny grovel by this sexy hero. Lauren balanced the mystery and the angst with the perfect balance of humor and suspense. I rooted for these two to not only find their answers but to also realize their past didn't define their present or most importantly the future they could have together. This was a exciting and sexy series and I can't wait for more from Lauren.

So..... straight in after that cliffhanger and the story continues where we left off.

The setting continues to delight me, it really is a beautiful place for budding romance to blossom in the middle of untrustworthy thieves and a hunt for the missing gemstones.
Jake and Steph manage to get as HOT as the climate amid the hunt and my action hero Jake, well, I fell for him even more in this book!

Everything gets wrapped up in one sparkling gem of a read and I had NO IDEA who it was and believe me I watch my fair share of crime and thriller shows and still, Lauren had me fooled. I adore her ability to tell a story and create characters that you fall in love with.

So this book continues where the Sapphire Affair left off. This is another excellent book by Lauren Blakely. So Steph and Jake team up and work together to try and see if there are any diamonds and to see who stole them. They become deeper and deeper in lust and like with one another and can’t keep their hands off of one another Follow them thru the Cayman Islands to see the conclusion of this awesome hot sexy book. Diamonds, Sapphires, Rubies.. Oh My!!

I loved, LOVED how this story was wrapped up. The conclusion to the Sapphire duet was perfectly paced.

Sapphire Heist picks up exactly where the Sapphire Affair left off. The adventure continues following the clues for the jewels. But it's not just that. There's more. Jake and Steph have to work towards trust even though the clues they're working with tells them otherwise.

This story is the PERFECT summer/beach read. Ms. Blakely once again delivered a book with heart, heat, and humor. I love that both Jake and Steph are chemical as they are compatible.

I highly recommend this story duet.

I'm soo deeply in love with Steph and Jake. They're my ideal couple. And I won't argue about it.

I think the ending was simply perfect.
I think I need more Blakely-books.

This was such a great conclusion to The Sapphire Affair. It picks up right where The Sapphire Affair ends, so you definitely need to read both. This book was full of action, suspense, drama, steaming hot romance. It was definitely a great read. The story was awesome, it kept me hooked and I couldn't wait to finish to see what was happening with the stolen millions. I would highly recommend this duet. Great reads. The Sapphire Heist picks right up where The Sapphire Affair ended…and at this point none of us really know what’s going on or who we can trust! The mystery was really amped up a notch in this book- Ms. Blakely did a terrific job at keeping not only Jake and Steph on their toes, but the reader as well!

Jake and Steph work so well together as partners, even with the question of who can really be trusted hanging over their heads. Their personal relationship is still steaming up the pages, and you can really feel their connection. Now if they could only figure out who’s got the diamonds! Not everything is what it seems, not everyone is who you think they are, and just when you think you might know the answer another twist is thrown in to set you off course.

P.S. Jake is still just as irresistable!

This story is The Sapphire Heist, A Jewel Novel book 2, written by Lauren Blakely. This was quite an exciting conclusion to book 1. Just when you think you have it figured out, Ms Blakely would throw a monkey wrench into your idea and slam you back to square one! I love the characters of Steph and Jake too! Will they ever find the diamonds? Who really stole them? Who else is looking for them? Should they trust each other...? Read it to find out for yourself!

OH YEA! The Sapphire Heist is even more outstanding and I think, epic then the first book! The chemistry is off the page HOT and the plot...DAMN! I don't think there is an author that can bring you a story that is fun, smart, sassy, sexy, and full of action like Lauren Blakely!

I LOVED The Sapphire Affair and The Sapphire Heist is just AWESOME and lip-smacking good. I love an author that can make you laugh one minute and moan the next. And there is SO much action, its JUST. SO. GOOD. A definite MUST HAVE.

I give The Sapphire Heist a FUN AND SNARKY FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

After finishing The Sapphire Affair, I absolutely had to jump right into The Sapphire Heist to find out what was going to happen. The ending of book one came as such a shock to me that I had to know what Steph and Jake were going to do next. The Sapphire Heist did not disappoint. It had passion, intrigue, and even more action and suspense. I loved following Jake and Steph through their personal twists and turns, as well as those they went through while trying to crack the case. This series was fabulous and definitely made me want to read more from Lauren Blakely.

Lauren Blakely writes romance like no one else! I loved The Sapphire Heist! This series has a lot more action and intrigue than previous books she's written. It was well written (of course) and the pace was great. Jake and Steph are both very strong characters. It was great seeing their relationship develop over the course of the series. The book is visually captivating. I know that's odd to say, but the descriptions and backdrops come alive off the page. It's most entertaining! I'd definitely recommend this title and I can't wait for The Ruby Affair!

The Sapphire Heist is the continuation of The Sapphire Affair. The cliffhanger was a killer, I couldn’t wait to dive in!

You do not want to miss this duet, its chock full of suspense, action and steamy scenes. Steph and Jake arrived with different intentions but soon found themselves on the same team. They have a goal to retrieve stolen gems and return them to their rightful owner. If it was only that easy. Eli, Steph’s stepfather, had his own agenda.

There’s plenty of mistrust that surfaces between Steph and Jake. Oh the angst! Can they move past their insecurities and learn to trust before they lose more than just the diamonds?

I was desperate for a HEA. Steph and Jake are both trying to help their families but it turns into more. They finally might find love. Eli is a d*ck, he really needed to get his comeuppance. The duet is very well written, not only does Steph and Jake face the challenges of solving the mystery but also their own internal struggles with trust. 5 Stars!

I always feel like I say the same thing regarding Lauren's writing, but I will continue to say it: I love her books and this book is no different. I fell in love with Jake and Steph in book one, The Sapphire Affair, and couldn't wait for this second part. Lauren delivered a great book to her many fans and it was a great conclusion to the mystery in the Caymans. Although Lauren did leave a very small door open for another book, this one definitely has a conclusion. This book had me guessing until the end and I as I finished each chapter, I wanted to keep going. Can't wait for Lauren's next book!!

The Sapphire Heist much more action, in and out of bed. The pace is faster. Totally love Jake and Steph as I have yet to find a Blakely book that I don't like. Lauren Blakely sure can write a HOT love scene and many can be found in this book. I found myself keeping track of characters and trying to determine if/when they would return and what they would be doing good/bad. This is different from the typical books that Lauren writes but just as good. Fun to read about a locale away from the usual NYC, LV, or LA. If this is your first Blakely book totally recommend checking out any of her other books.

This is the continuance of The Sapphire Affair and we meet Jake and Steph again while they are still tracking the diamonds in the Cayman Islands.
Our characters have both been deceived in the past and, after the ending of book one, a deep seed of mistrust is planted on them, each one thinking whether they are being played in order to get to the goal. Steph wants to trust her stepfather is in essence a good guy in a bad situation while Jake is more objective this being just another job. This and the fact that our sexy bounty hunter and tour guide have an off the charts chemistry, makes for an exciting, totally surprising plot. One thing I especially liked is how she acted when they fought and the way he went groveling to win her back.
We have a great game of cloak and dagger. People are following each other, clues that might or might not be truthful, deception and all around romantic fun that make The Sapphire Heist the perfect conclusion to this story.

After finishing The Sapphire Affair I couldn't wait too dive into The Sapphire Heist so I could see how things between Jake and Steph played out and to see if they were able to solve the caper!

This conclusion of the story of Steph and Jake is full of twists, turns, questions about trust and several roadblocks as well. This duo not only works well together trying to figure out what has really happened with the diamonds and money, but it's clear they work as a couple as well. The biggest thing for them at this point is trust. They've both been burned before and they are both put in positions at times where they doubt the sincerity of the other person.

I loved the pace of this book and I very quickly got to the point I didn't want to put it down. I needed to know who was behind the stolen diamonds, who was following Steph and Jake and were they going to make it as a couple in the end? Lauren Blakely did an amazing job of giving us a fast paced, action packed book that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat!

Beyond Sexy, Thrilling and Intriguing type of read. What a perfect conclusion to the 2nd part of the who dunn-it missing diamonds caper. This story takes off where the cliff hanger leaves you in part one, The Sapphire Affair. It's nicely pace. The journey and adventure Steph & Jake take you on is one hella of a ride. Amazing ending to a quick read with so much depth. You just won't be able to put it down. You'll devour it, I promise. Only the 2nd book I've read by author Lauren Blakely but I can assure you I'll be blowing through every book she writes. What a great and refreshing story teller.

The Sapphire Heist is the second book in the Jewel series by Lauren Blakely. The Sapphire Heist is an adult romantic suspense series about bodyguards and jewel heists and all kinds of things that are sure to get your heart pumping. The novel is told in dual narrative, which is really my very favorite narration method. Nowadays, whenever I pick up a book told entirely from one person’s point of view, I find myself missing the other person. I really enjoyed the tension in the air throughout the story, and the passion between Jake and Steph. This was a great read for me and I can’t wait for more. This is a continuation of the first book in the series, The Sapphire Affair, so if you have not read book one, you need to start there. (you can check out my review here)

I think it is hilarious how neither Jake nor Steph fully trust the other one. They are each so used to either being dishonest or dealing with dishonest people, that their trust meter is so shattered. It is the cause of most of their strife in this novel, and I don’t think that is going anywhere anytime soon. I still really like the two of them together, but I will admit that aspect got a little old before the book was over. But in the end that didn’t matter too much because their chemistry is still off the charts! And because the mystery and suspense is so awesome that you can’t help but fall in love with this series.

I still think this series would make a kickass movie. The suspense is edge of your seat stuff, the mystery is awesome and the romance will have you thinking Antarctica is too hot. This is a wild ride of a book, and I can’t wait for more. (There had better be more!)

*Disclaimer- I got a copy of this book for free in exchange for my honest review. I was not compensated for my thoughts.

Brilliant masterpiece of wit, erotic romance, and thrilling caper! All the elements needed for a nail biting, swooning and sensual book are wrapped in this series.

Adorable ex-military intelligence agent turned bounty hunter Jake gets the job he was made to solve. He has a family to feed and educate and this job will provide the needed funds. Now, don't be discouraged. He is not married! He is just taking care of his siblings after they lost their parents to a drunk driver. Now all he has to do is find out what a retired hedge fund manager (Eli) did with $10,000,000 of hedge fund missing money.

Steph is Eli's stepdaughter. Well, more accurately ex-stepdaughter. See, Eli absconded to the Cayman Islands after a messy divorce from Steph's mom, with all the money he could take from her too. Now Steph is trying to get Eli to return the seed money her mother gave him to start his business. Mission Impossible?

Jake and Steph are two colliding forces of lusty nature. Not realizing who they each are, they fall in lust immediately and so begins the game to solve the Eli problem from two very different perspectives.

This is a SMART plotline full of clues and twists. I love that it is an intelligent plot which will keep you are the edge of your seats. As a bonus, we get the banter, lusty sensual love scenes that are Lauren Blakely's trademark. What more could you want in a book? Part Two picks up the pace even more.

In the end, TRUST is the recurring theme. Can we trust Jake? Eli? Steph? Who is really innocent?
With $10,000,000 in sight, who will betray the other?

By the way, I will never look at a Rolex watch again without laughing and remembering the saying " a woman scorned..."

⭐️ 2.5 STARS ⭐️

THE SAPPHIRE HEIST continues on from where THE SAPPHIRE AFFAIR finished, with Steph believing Jake stole from her after they spent the night together. As with the first book, a lot of the story revolves around their trust issues; Steph doesn't trust Jake, which upsets him and then Jake doesn't trust Steph, which upsets her. It's hard to connect with characters or believe their chemistry when they're always doubting each other. Steph is still struggling to accept that her stepfather could be a criminal, despite all the evidence that's right in front of her. Ultimately, this book was pretty much the same as the first book, just with a bit more mystery, a few more bad guys and some scuba tours thrown in.

THE SAPPHIRE HEIST is told in dual POVs and cannot be read as a stand-alone; if you're going to read this book, you need to read THE SAPPHIRE AFFAIR first. As with book 1, I wouldn't call this a novella, but it is a fairly quick read and again I found myself skipping sections of the inner monologue. As I got towards the end, I was worried that we'd be going into a third book because the end was rapidly approaching and we didn't have a conclusion yet. But the stolen jewels were recovered and the ending moves extremely quick after that. Overall, I thought these two stories were ok, but not great, and I probably won't be reading any more of this series, should there end up being more books.

As Stephanie and Jake work to learn what is really going on with Steph’s stepfather, their paths have split amid questions of loyalty and trust. The action picks up right where The Sapphire Affair leaves off, and some of my remaining questions found answers almost immediately.

This second half of Jake and Stephanie’s story is full of twists and turns as they continue tracking the money and diamonds. Sorting through clues leads them to even more questions -- where are the diamonds, who are the thieves, and who is following them?

I enjoyed getting to know more of the side characters in this book, but all those introductions only gave me more characters to question loyalty and motives. I liked how each new character had some motive in the overall search, making it just as hard for readers to trust as it was for Jake and Stephanie.

I gave this half of the story a slightly higher rating than the first book for a couple reasons. I have liked Stephanie and Jake from the beginning and their story as a whole, but it really needed this second half for the closure and the answers. I found myself reaching that point of "I can't put this down" much sooner in this book, and my excitement to find out what was really going on drove my rating higher. All of my questions were answered as these two faced new concerns as a couple. Even though things seemed to have smoothed out shortly after this book started, they were not finished with bumps in their road.

Good H/h chemistry and good thriller/mystery plot. The leads had fun banter with each other but I still didn't feel like the characters had much depth individually. The H/h back and forth where they keep thinking the other one is untrustworthy, and then the other one gets mad about it, got old. Would've been interesting to see some other relationship obstacles instead.

Well written at all levels, with great attention to details. Loved the characters who seemed real and warm people, not stereotypes. Especially loved the three to one ratio concept, but that's what showed me this was one of the better fantasy reads of all time. Sometimes you can actually make it through the rough week if you can at least experience a great read.

What a conclusion to the series! Just as good as the first book with even more action. Don't know exactly what you would call these two books as they are more than crime, romance, and action. They are just wonderful combinations of all three with lots of
"personal action."

The Sapphire Heist was a quick and thrilling read. It is the second book in the Jewel Series and picks up right where the last book left off. This story hit the ground running and there was never a dull moment. I loved the mystery and intrigue; the feeling of danger around every corner. I really enjoyed trying to figure out just what exactly was going on and who I could really trust. Lauren Blakely kept me on my toes and just when I thought I had it all figured out, she threw something else at me and made me question things all over again.

The Sapphire Heist is fast paced and filled with adventure. It will keep you on your toes and devouring each word. Jake and Steph are impossible to not love. They have wonderful chemistry and I loved watching the two of them try to figure things out. I loved the way their story came together and could not have asked for a better ending for these two. This story took me on one thrilling ride and I can’t wait to see what adventures this author has up her sleeves next!

Very good transition from book 1. It's always hard to sit back and watch the characters make complete "cats" of themselves, I love this reference by the way. I digress; anyway Jake and Steph finally get it together and I see the writing on the wall for a story about rubies. Looking forward to it!

Add a glint of suspense and sparkle of chemistry and you get an entertaining, sweet and sexy romance.
“Hey. You found your sexy fisherman… and you found my favorite mermaind.”
“We did find each other.”

Steph Anderson didn’t go to the Caymans just to lead a diving expedition, she went to learn the truth about her stepfather. She never imagined she would end up meeting, helping and falling for a sexy artifact retriever who was looking for the jewels her stepfather supposedly stole. But can she truly trust a man she barely knows? Especially when so much money is involved and all evidence points at Jake being the thief?

Jake Harlowe had sworn off relationships for good, he especially didn’t mix business with pleasure. But after a sizzling night with a woman he’s genuinely connected with though, he can’t help but want more. Especially when she can also help him crack the Sapphire Affair he’s working on even though she’s not convinced who the real bad guy is.
“This woman drove him wild. She was a pistol, a fiery, sexy, determined, tenacious woman who made him crazy, and who he wanted fiercely.”

Their attraction is undeniable but as all clues keep leading to dead ends and other players seem to also in the run for the jewels, trust between Jake and Steph seems to wane when it’s the only thing that will help them succeed.

Lauren Blakely picks up the sultry and engaging Sapphire Affair story right where it was left off, having not just the mystery of the diamond’s whereabouts unsolved but also who can truly be trusted. Even though Jake and Steph have made some progress on all fronts, they still don’t know where or who has the diamonds and they definitely don’t know each other well, but getting to figure out both was certainly fun.
“I know already that the water calms you. I know the sunshine is like some kind of magic to you.”

While getting to know one another they had fun and sexy times, and tried to crack the case of the missing gems. They’re both very likeable characters, Steph wasn’t just feisty and sweet, she always wanted to see the good in people and Jake is witty and sharp, and love for his family was completely endearing and he knew how to deliver a good apology!

Their chemistry was sizzling and threatened to distract and derail them from their main objective but even as I thought I had it figured out, there were some twists thrown in and I was just as stumped as they were.

The Sapphire Heist is book #2 in the Jewel duet by Lauren Blakely. It is a fun, sweet and sexy romance with twists and turns. I enjoyed reading Jake and Steph’s story and I hope it is not the last we get of them. Yes, Lauren totally hinted at a ruby affair which I hope we get. Told from both points of view that ends with a happy ending.

**received an arc copy for an honest review**

In the last book of the duology, Steph and Jake continue their mission to try and find out the truth about the diamonds. Their trust is tested as both of them learn that their partners may not be all that they seem.

This short series is a perfect series to read when you are on vacation at the beach. It has spies, love, a beautiful backdrop, and espionage that will keep you guessing until the end. The only thing it doesn't have is that epic car chase.

.Obviously with the things that Steph and Jake are doing their relationship was going to have problems. You can't be involved with millions of dollars and not have some kind of trust issues, but what I didn't like was just how easy they forgave each other. I know if I was on either end of the problem I would have been like really? Yeah I don't think it will be that easy to let go. I would have liked to have seen more of a fight for them.

The story is wrapped up in a bow as it's very movie-esque. The bad guys get caught and the hero lives happy ever after. This part is not supposed to be a surprise because I kind of knew what was going to happen just by reading the synopsis. But I enjoyed the story as the characters worked together to try and get to the bottom of the truth. It felt like The Italian Job where it mixes fun, excitement with an air of mystery.

Lauren Blakely succeeds in creating a book that keeps you entertained from page one all the way to the end of the book. You feel like you are watching s spy movie, trying to figure out who the bad guy is and how and why they are going after the diamonds. I can't wait to see what Blakely writes next.

This second installment in this series was a great conclusion to Steph and Jake’s story. It begins right after the ending of the first book, with many unanswered questions, as the couple still have to find out who is really behind the stolen diamonds. Is Steph’s step-father really involved in all of this? And can they trust each other after what happened?

I liked this slightly better than The Sapphire Affair, because the first one was more of a build-up of everything, from the mystery to the high sexual tension between the characters. I won’t go into more details because it could hinder your enjoyment of the installment. Lauren Blakely delivers an amazing sequel full of suspense, fast-paced action and most of all, romance! Her writing makes it so easy to get into the story and this was no exception. If you liked the first book, you should definitely get to read this one!

The Sapphire Heist is a continuation of the story from The Sapphire Affair. And I was excited to get my hands on it. The mystery began to pick up in this half of the story; I was definitely on the edge of my seat on this book. The twists and turns this book took kept me second guessing the whodunit until the very end. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this duet. The fast-paced adventure and shenanigans were a lot of fun to read. There was humor mixed in with the mystery and romance. And those are the books I find loving the most.

I’m still in book love with Jake. I loved that we got to see him interact with his family even more in this book. I’d love to maybe see a series pop up with his siblings (hint hint nudge nudge). The chemistry between the two is still hot as hell, burning up my Kindle. Its explosive, Jake has such a mouth on him! Dirty talking and otherwise. But it’s not all fun and games. You get a lot of time with them actually building a relationship and working through their issues (sometimes in creative ways!). I love that Blakely gave them very real flaws and obstacles to work through. It didn’t feel forced or “created” just to have drama in the book. It felt organic, something that could very well happen between two people with trust issues in real life. Well…if they were on a hunt for missing diamonds that is.

I’d read a few of Ms. Blakely’s books in the past but I think that it is this duet that has truly mad me a fan. I’m looking forward to diving into more of her books in the future.

4.25 star--THE SAPPHIRE HEIST is the second installment in Lauren Blakely’s contemporary, adult JEWEL romantic, suspense duology focusing on bounty hunter/professional retriever Jake Harlowe, and Island Adventure tour operator Steph Anderson. THE SAPPHIRE HEIST should not be read as a stand alone as the story line picks up upon the events and cliff hanger of book one-The Sapphire Affair.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Jake and Steph) THE SAPPHIRE HEIST begins immediately following the events of book one. Steph and Jake have partnered together in the search for ten million dollars in missing money and diamonds with Steph’s step-father the prime suspect. But Steph believes she has been played by the man who currently holds her heart, and sets out to uncover the truth on her own. THE SAPPHIRE HEIST continues to follow the hunt for the missing diamonds focusing on more than one potential player in a game of cat and mouse.

Lauren Blakely’s THE SAPPHIRE HEIST is a suspense filled story of mystery, betrayal, lies and deceit. Lauren drops a few hints and clues throughout the story adding a couple of twists to an already entertaining tale of intrigue and romance. Our heroine doesn’t want to believe her step-father is responsible for a ten million dollar embezzlement scheme, and she begins to point the finger in another direction. A lack of trust is a presiding theme throughout the story. A great series with a sexy romance, intriguing premise, and interesting characters.

Lauren Blakely’s Jewel Series is a definitely breath of fresh air! It is something very different from what I previously read from her which isn’t a bad thing at all. Like her previous works, the stories contain the remarkable entertainment factor, great humor and of course a smoldering romance. What makes this series even better is the highly addictive suspense, mystery and adventure.

The Sapphire Heist starts off where The Sapphire Affair left off with me feeling… extremely annoyed. I could barely wrap my head around Jake’s betrayal. I thought then that the guy was irredeemable but not every thing was as it seemed.

He surprised me. As a matter of fact, there were numerous components that kept things very interesting. I loved how we are kept guessing. One minute, I was 100% convinced who the culprit was then the next minute I was assuming it was someone else. I appreciated that element of surprise.

In between figuring the who and the what with the jewels we witness Jake and Steph’s beautiful partnership evolve. From the very beginning, their chemistry was off the charts but as we get further into the story theirs become so much more. I can not even tell you how great this couple were together. They fit in every possible way.

The only drawback I had with The Sapphire Heist was that it ended. I felt like there was so much more story to tell. I couldn’t get enough! I’m hoping that whatever LB was hinting at towards the very end becomes a reality.

After reading the Sapphire Affair, I was left wanting more. The story itself, was a continuance from the first book. It left you thinking, what is the next move? Who did it? And plenty of OMG moments. Just when I thought I solved the mystery in The Sapphire Heist, a new one popped up with more twists and turns than ever. The Sapphire Heist is flawlessly executed. Edgy. Enthralling. Emotional.
Jake and Steph’s relationship is so damn hot, it left me wanting to read more of their fun moments. The feelings they had for another was so vividly strong. You felt every emotion they had for one another. While they were falling in love with each other, you were falling in love with them. The Sapphire Affair left me wanting more, I needed to know who had the diamonds, would Jake and Steph make it past the island affair. The Sapphire Heist jumps right in where we left off. Full of mystery & suspense, with a little sexy hotness to keep you warm.

Poor Steph goes through a time where she doesn't know what to believe or what she wants to honestly know any longer. Maybe this investigator business just isn't for her, or maybe it was more that it was about the man she knew to be her father for so many years. One thing she knew for sure was that she didn't want her time with Jake to end. She wasn't sure how she was going to accomplish everything and make it out unscathed.

Jake is having a hard time keeping his focus on what he does best. He loves his investigator work and needs to be successful for his family's well being. Family will always come first, but could Steph be part of that family too. She is a big distraction, in a good way, if only he could be certain she won't deceive him. Once bitten, twice shy.

Can they uncover the truth?

Thank you Lauren for such a great series. I enjoyed both the suspense and the romance. I would have enjoyed a little more in the romance department but I understand it is hard to get everything in without loosing the reader.
