I found this book very refreshing. I haven't read anything else from this author yet and not sure if its her usual style but really enjoyed this one! A very real romance where 2 normal people meet in a normal situation and become friends by texting, emailing, catching up, no making out with a stranger in an elevator and he turns out to be your billionaire boss! Although these are my favourite type of romance because I read to escape reality hehe I really did enjoy reading a different type of romance such as this one!
A great, quick, simple, heartfelt read and will definitely be recommending it to friends that need something lighthearted after something heavy! Looking forward to reading more books from this author that are on my TBR list!!

This was a unique story, romantic light and funny. McKenna`s (the heroine) vulnerability mirrored many woman's after a bitter break up so I as well as many other readers are sure to relate..and at a loss of where to go and how to move on mckenna chooses to do it through her blog..really interesting .....where she comes up with creating a trophy husband concept after her scumbag fiance ditched her for a much younger woman. Well her friends are behind her 100% in her little adventure but as luck or fate would have it while she's meeting these trophy prospects she meets a delicious , witty, funny, charming fellow techy blogger at a video store I think it is when they start chatting it up and as they get to talking he offers to fix her camera that her friends cat peed on and that's where it starts ...umm yummy, okay well why did I choose four out of five stars?? Well, although I was into the story , there were parts where she was just daydreaming and fantasizing about what this one or that one would be like as they touched her and I found my self so bored by this as I wanted to be into the story itself not dreams, yeah we all fantasize but when I read a story I wanna get lost in it not the fake daydreams one's fantasizing about..and so that's it..but overall, the story itself was unique- like that! The guy was hot, witty, charming, not a D-bag..they had soooo much in common and it had a great epilogue..awesome HEA..so a four star read to me(:

McKenna is one of my new favorite characters! She was quirky and fun and I just kept picturing Autumn Reeser (The OC, Hawaii 5-0) the whole time I was reading. She had the adorable but slightly neurotic thing going for her. The premise of the book was so fun and entertaining! All girls need a trophy husband tryout!
Chris is one of my new favorite book boyfriends. A charming and sexy gamer with more than trophy husband potential. The beginning of the book drew me right in and the author did an amazing job of letting readers know that McKenna had been through a painful ordeal with her ex without drowning us in backstory. Most of the other reviews have pretty well covered the awesomeness of this book, but I have to mention the one thing that really stuck out to me. The girl McKenna's ex left her for isn't your stereotypical bimbo like I was expecting. The author made her an actual person, and a decent one which was refreshing and believable.
Unique storyline with fresh and fun characters! What's not to love?

The concept of a trophy husband was a great idea. The best part of this story was the actual theme was finding true love. The other point is that sometimes we have to remember that revenge isn't always necessary.

Loved that this story was based in my backyard! All the re-named clubs, bars etc i still new exactly which ones they were. I feel totally tilted though that guitar hero never had that effect on me ;). Very cute story with a HEA. 3.5 stars for sure

The smutty cover bore surprisingly little resemblance to the sweet, funny, tender, and redemptive story found inside. It's McKenna's story, a 27 year-old fashion blogger who was jilted at the altar (the night before, but close enough) when her fiance up and married a woman he met while at his bachelor party. A year after that fact, she is still somewhat fragile and untrusting -- both of relationships and when they'll blow up in her face, but mostly untrusting of herself, for she blames herself even though she was clearly blameless. We follow her in her journey to turn the tables and learn to stop fighting both with herself and against the potential for happiness with a man.
I liked the characters, from McKenna to the men she meets (and one in particular, of course) and most of all her close cadre of girlfriends and how important they are to her (and she to them). I liked that they are all independent -- all the women, all the men, but none are oh-so-conveniently independently extraordinarily wealth. These are people who are working for their living.
The sex was fun and playful and loving.

Quick, cute read! The heroine, McKenna, aka "The Fashion Hound," is a video blogger who sold her show for big bucks after getting literally being left at the altar. It is a year later and she decides to have a contest on her show to find a "Trophy Husband." I was glad to see that she really didn't end up liking a guy who was just using her for her dough! And she didn't find dating someone with whom she had no common interests fun, even if they were hot! McKenna loves all things retro, including music, so the very cute but not so bright meter man who thought Billie Holliday was a man was funny. She meets Chris, a fellow blogger, but he writes about video games. You know they are perfect for each other because she has a dog named Ms. Pac-Man! I liked it but if it would have been better if it were longer with more character development. It could have been 5 stars. For example, why did McKenna's ex dump her? We never know.

This was an entertaining story for the most part, though a bit predictable. The flow started off very slow, but picked up speed. I felt this was a bit on the high school angsty emotional side instead of late 20 something adults than the H/h are supposed to be. It also didn't help that I'm not into fashion, so the clothing discriptions were wasted on me, to the point I'd skim thru those parts. The character- McKenna, was ok, if a bit self absorbed & shallow. Chris is spectacular, definitely balanced out for McKenna's lacking personality. The supporting characters were great too. Definitely worth a read.

Another great book by Lauren Blakely. The idea of a woman that was jilted by an A**hole and still not over it decides to turn the tables on the way that society is being seen by being a woman that wsnts a trophy husband only so she can throw it back in her ex's face and finally get over him.
In the process of doing that she decides to start a dating competition with the help of her friends who only wants her to be happy. She dates these guy only to go from dud to dud when along she had the guy she wanted in her life already. It was fun to see McKenna go through the dates to only come out on top and realize that what she was looking for all along was staring her in her face.

I really liked this book. McKenna was very believable, her ex was a douche (not even a word in my everyday vocabulary), and her friends were great. Chris was just too cool. I'd take him as a husband myself! The author did a great job making the characters real. I like that Chris put his foot down towards the end and although I was sketchy about what decision she made, I thought it turned out great. It was funny reading about the not so great dates, we've all been on at least one. I do wish the story was longer however, the author did tie everything up with a bow at the end. Well done. Will read again, definitely.

Having loved Lauren Blakely’s first two books (and devouring them in one sitting), I was anxiously awaiting Trophy Husband. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! McKenna and Chris are awesome characters and their story has everything a great love story should – it is romantic, sexy and very, very funny! I highly recommend this book!

I almost didn't finish reading the book because I was put off by the confusion of who the hero was supposed to be. When a woman is trying to be a serial dater, it's difficult to know which male to invest in. You're a fair way into the book before you figure out which one is supposed to be the good guy. Once that is established however, I liked the story and characters but particularly liked the author's voice and style of writing. The plot conflict is fairly easy to discern early on, and it's not really a conflict that involves much of the story or characters to resolve. I like more conflict but this was a fluff read and that's what I got. I'm not disappointed. Will definitely give the author another read with this series, or try another one of her books.

I have already read & enjoyed the rest of the Caught Up In Love series. And I have no idea why, maybe it's because I was really eager to read Playing with her Heart *cough* not because of the man on the cover (before they changed covers, of course). But I had jumped Trophy Husband completely. But I decided to remedy this by getting to reading it & I have to say that this entire series is a must-read! It has sass, angst, sexiness, shame, heart-break, & heart-felt characters who finally get together *sigh*. Now that I finished this series I can finally pick one up Seductive nights, which I've heard is really good!

This was a great book. I loved the main character, McKenna, and her awesome fashion sense. I also loved the main man, Chris, and his adorable wit. The sexual tension was hot and there was a scene on a Q-bert arcade game that will forever be replayed in my mind. This was a great combination of romance and sex.

At first I thought this book was the dumbest thing I ever read, but then I read on. It turned out I really liked it. McKenna is a self made woman, who lives in her head, with a love life screwed up from her ex. Being a blogger of fashions, she decides to set up a contest to find a trophy husband for herself, like her ex did on the day before their wedding. While trying to help her, all her followers vote on guys in the contest for her. Then she meets Chris, he is not quite in the parameters of the contest, but she likes him so he must fake it and enter to chance to date her. After making my way through the beginning, I really grew to like the characters and the story.

I loved this sweet and easy read. Mckenna was jilted on the eve's of her wedding day by her jerk of a fiance. Because of that she had a rough year. With the help of her awesome friends she made a plan to CATCH A TROPHY HUSBAND. I couldn't put down this fantastic book. This talented author has such a terrific sense of humour and the writing was flawless. I recommend this book because I had such a fun time reading it.I finished reading Trophy Husband with a big smile on my face.

Lauren Blakely has hit a home run with Trophy Husband. Fun, sexy, HOT. Shows that when you least expect it love can be found any where. One of the best lines is: " How can there be any other guys after a kiss like that? It's a kiss to end all kisses, it's a sip of lemonade in a hammock on a warm summer day. It's a slow dance on hardwood floors while a fan goes round overhead, curtains blowing gently in the open window." Sigh.... I want a kiss like that!!

Anyone who has ever been jilted can relate to this story! McKenna's road to revenge is sexy but determined, and I could not put this book down until I found out whether she really chose a "Trophy Husband!"

McKenna and Chris's story is adorable. The beginning of the book moved a little slow for me. McKenna is a blogger who after a major heartbreak, sets out to find a trophy husband. As she is setting the scene and narrowing down her choices, it becomes plainly obvious that Chris is her man. I found myself wishing she would end the contest and be with Chris, long before she died. Once she finally does, the story gets better and better.

Fun and quirky characters made this an enjoyable read. The reason for the four star instead of five star rating is because parts felt too wordy to me. I mean I get she fantasizes about him, but it was a little too much. Slowed the flow for me. Other than that, the premise was fun and different and there was just enough details.

I loved Mckenna and Chris. They are a really cute nerdy couple, and I am saying that in the best way possible. I am not going to say much about the book other than you should read it. If i start talking about I'm going to dish out spoilers. Although, I have to say that I love that Mckenna is a UCLA grad, a girl representing my alma matter. I love it. This was a good read. This is just a feel good book.

This was an enjoyable read; lighthearted and fast paced. It was not exactly what I thought it would be, but fun none the less. I often found myself wondering what was really behind Todd's decision to marry Amber so quickly (I wondered if they were already having an affair prior, or what). Chris was definitely worth all the heartache and distress that McKenna went through to have him enter her life; he was a real sweetheart.

This book had me hooked from the beginning. I did not want to put it down. McKenna and Chris have a great sense of humor and mesh well together, in more ways than one. The ex, well, let's just say if he ever fell in an open man hole it would serve him right! He had some nerve, trying to take what wasn't his. It all worked out in the end!

I usually read the bad reviews before deciding to buy a book. This time I didn't, and I'm glad I didn't. I thought it was fun. It was a different story line and I loved that. The fantasies she thinks up were hot even if some people didn't like them. It made the real scenes that much better. I couldn't put it down. This is the first book I've read by this author and I'll definitely check out more of her work.

I was looking for something 'lighter' to read after many emotional reads and I definitely found it in this book. I loved the whole idea of this story. McKenna is such a character and I found myself wanting to hang out with her. I loved the relationship with Chris and was totally happy with the ending. Great, light, funny book...well done

McKenna was such an interesting character. Loved that she had a modern job, killer fashion sense, and overall an awesome person. She was humanized by the pain that she was hanging on to from her ex. She struggled moving on, but in the end it all worked out.

Loved the story & characters. Chris was hot, sexy & adorable. McKenna at times was annoying with her fantasy dreams but other than that you will enjoy this book. Read all three of her books & love the way all these characters are related in one way or the other. Can't wait for Jill's story "Playing with my Heart".

I loved the Night After Night series with McKenna's sister Julia so I could not wait to read her story. Although it was predictable, this was a good story. It made you root for McKenna on her "Trophy Husband" quest. However, love throws her a curve ball and she falls hard :)

This book is the reason for my sleep deprivation. I sneak a read every chance I could get because this story consumed me. Just hated to put it down. I did, however, feel that the end was rushed and the editing was sloppy but overall an awesome read. Looking forward to more.
Please RateTrophy Husband
Trophy Husband is a ridiculously fun novel, the kind that just begs to be read on a beach, preferably with a giant drink that comes with an umbrella.
I love McKenna immediately and completely identified with her desire to not get hurt anymore. Yes, she wants a "trophy husband" but she also wants to keep her heart from shattering again. And I think we can all relate to that, right?
And oh God, her ex. Todd is the world's biggest jerk. Exhibit A: he elopes with someone else---and lets her know the day before the wedding. In a voicemail. Exhibit B: He takes his new wife to McKenna's favorite restaurant---where he never wanted to go before. Exhibit C: He and the new wife have a baby a year later and name her Charlotte---which is the name that McKenna was going to give her daughter. Exhibit D: He threatens McKenna with a lawsuit to get joint custody of their dog.
And oh yes, their dog! I love McKenna's dog. Her name's Ms. Pac-Man. How adorable is that?
But we really care about the new guy, don't we? There's a parade of losers, yes, but ultimately, there is Chris. And Chris is totally swoon-worthy--not just cute, but also really smart and funny.
This is a short novel (you can probably tear through it in a day) but you'll quickly become invested with McKenna and cheer when she meets Mr. Right.
