Kane Harmon is a sweet protective brother, uncle, son, man. He owns his own auto garage where his father also works.
Kane is a man that doesn’t do relationships because of 1 summer “relationship” that turned out to be just a fling. Now Kane pretty much keeps to himself and when needing a woman’s comfort seeks it in another town.
Halley is a quite woman that keeps to herself and mostly just stays home and doesn’t “hang out” like her sister does. Halley has had a rough life being in foster care as a child because her mother preferred drugs and a man over her and her sisters which is why Halley is as she is. Halley is also a painter that is hoping to be picked up one day by a New York Gallery.
When Halley is broke down on the side of the road and Kane’s garage was called for the tow, Kane and Halley are both shocked to see the other. Kane and Halley have a history from their school day years. Kane being the protective one when Halley was new in town and being picked on. Unfortunately, that’s as far as their friendship went.
Now all grown up, Kane is as intrigued with Halley as he has always been. She is different that the other women around town. Unfortunately, Halley is not interested in Kane or any other man. She prefers her quite life.
Kane is not one to just give up on something that he wants, and Halley is definitely something/someone that he wants. He figures he has to figure a way to get close to her.
Kane starts by agreeing to fix Halley’s deck. From the 1st day of working on her deck, Halley is more open that when he picked her up on the side of the road. Day after day, Kane is able to talk to Halley and find out a little more about her. Day by day Kane is able to get Halley to feel comfortable enough to open up. He begins to break down halls that Halley has had up since being a little girl.
This is a beautiful story. Fall in love with Kane and Halley.

Heartwarming, sinful and downright decadent! Carly Phillips has hit another one out of the park with the first book in her new Rosewood Bay series! I was drawn in immediately to the sexy mechanic's life, then once he and Halley crossed paths, the attraction and pull between them was flaring quickly. The characters both have a boatload of history and issues that weigh on them heavily, but they find that time together is refreshing and even healing as they let their guard down and let the other in. Great kick-off to the series with a complex back story bringing intrigue and compassion alive in our mind quickly. A nice foundation of characters, each with a story of their own just waiting to be told. Looking forward to more to come in the series!

Mechanic Kane Harmon is feeling washed up. He's burned out on the rich socialites passing through his beach town for the summer just looking for a fling to entertain themselves with. The responsibilities of holding his family together are wearing thin. He just really needs something more, and when he runs into a familiar face while answering a call to help a stranded vehicle on the side of the road, he feels like a breath of fresh air just walked into his life!

Artist Halley Ward keeps to herself a lot, so it's been years since she's run into her old high school acquaintance Kane. He was always kind to her, and she appreciated that in a time when she felt like the world was against her. She prefers life hidden away and alone, so she's hesitant when Kane sets his sights on wooing her out of her comfort zone, but the more time she spends with him, the more she wants to actually live for a change! She has an uncomfortable past that she wears like a shield around her heart and doesn't exactly think she's cut out for a relationship, but Kane just might be the guy to convince her otherwise!

Kane Harmon has dealt with his fair share of beautiful and wealthy women, every summer they roll into town, pick-up a local man for a few nights of fun, and then once summer comes to end, they leave town and act as though their time with him meant nothing. So, when his father tells him there is one stranded on the side of the road in need of a tow, he braces himself for the shameless flirty, and pick-up lines, and heads her direction, but the woman waiting for him isn't quite who he expected. She maybe wealthy and beautiful, but this woman and he have a past, one that had him coming to her rescue time after time in school when their fellow students decided to be jerks to her. Looking at her now he can still see the same mysterious beauty, who use to steal the breath from his lungs, but now there is a sadness in her eyes that he is determined to wash away. Only she says she isn't looking to date anyone, so he offers friendship instead, hoping it will help him work his way into her graces again. And maybe her heart too...

Halley Ward is somewhat of a recluse, only leaving her beach house when necessary, very seldom venturing out for a night on the town, for fear of crowds and men trying to pick her up. But with a showing at the local art house nearing she knows she needs to muster up the courage to venture into town and deliver her paintings for the show, only she doesn't get to far due to her faulty fuel pump. Now she finds herself stuck on the side of the road, in the sweltering sun, and needing a tow... good thing there is a tow truck headed her way. Little does she that that tow truck is about to change her life in more ways then one... it holds a key to her past, and a man she use to crush on back in school. Question is will find the courage to act on said crush, or turn tide and run per her usual M.O.?

Fearless is a moving story, that will steal your heart, stir your thoughts, make you smile, and possibly shed a few tears. With it's engaging, dramatic, and heartfelt story line I couldn't help but get wrapped up in it, it was quite an addictive little tale. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting these wonderful characters and watching them find their forever, it was a beautiful thing to witness. I highly recommend this one, it's a uplifting romance story that is sure to leave your heart overflowing!!

In this new book by Phillips we are introduced to Kane, a young man who owns his own Garage in the town of Rosewood Bay. Rosewood Bay is a town in New England that sits by the ocean. It's a place where there is always an influx of summer visitors who enjoy spending time there but always leave. Kane learns this when his ex, who came for a summer, made it clear that he wasn't good enough for her when it came to her real life. He has grown tired of dating summer people and hopes to find that special someone to make a life with. When Kane gets a call about a motorist who needs assistance he is surprised to find out it's Halley Ward, a young girl he protected when they attended school together. It has been forever since he has seen her but she sparks an immediate interest in Kane. Haley lives a life of solitude enjoying her passion for painting and she isn't looking for that to change. You see when she was younger she ended up in the foster care system and things weren't always a bowl of cherries. Haley has taken her childhood experiences into her adult life and doesn't seem to realize that they are holding her back from actually living. Follow along as Kane tries to show Haley what laughter, love and truly living can do for a persons inner self. Will she let him help her through all the things that are holding her back or will she stay the same old Haley. This was a lovely read filled with a roller coaster ride of emotions that had me crying one minute and smiling the next. I look forward to seeing what happens for some of the other characters in the book, will they find what Kane and Haley did in their books?

Another great book by one of my favorite authors. Halley Ward is a loner in town. She has been since she moved here to live with her aunt. Her aunt rescued her from a foster home. The reason she was in foster care? Because her mother valued drugs more than her kids. She has had no constant in her life and disappointment happened at every turn while she was growing up. She doesn't have the heart to trust easily. The only two people that she does are her aunt and her sister.
Kane Harmon is the town mechanic. He went to school with Halley and saw a similar soul back then, since he was dealing with his own major issues. He did his best to shield her from the teasing of the other kids who didn't get it. Now , he's got more on his shoulders with his father's gambling problems, his sister and her son. He has given up on finding a relationship in their small vacation destination town, especially since he was thrown aside by a vacationing diva.
Kane knows Halley is worth the effort that he needs to put in to get behind her walls. He is patient and understanding of her need to process her feelings. That alone makes him desirable in my eyes. But he goes beyond that and supports her and lets her know that her feelings are valuable. He doesnt push his own opinions on her ever.
Halley is braver than she gives herself credit for. She survived foster homes that are what nightmares are made of. She considers herself as damaged. But Kane never sees her that way. He lifts her up and encourages her to be true to herself. I loved this book and cannot wait for the rest of this series.

Fearless takes fans of Carly Phillips into the world of Rosewood Bay. Kane Harmon is a man that’s good at rescuing people. He’s trying to make up for the shortcomings of a parent that allowed temptation take him in the wrong direction. Halley Ward just needs the right incentive to break out of her shell. She’s grown up to shy away from people. It’s a story that shows that there are people who should not be parents. They forget they have little ones that rely on them to be around and take care of them. I don’t know if it’s a case of something in the brain that we just won’t figure out but they don’t realize how that behavior can affect their loved ones.

I was a little surprised by my reaction to this book. This is an author where I’ve loved every book that I’ve read. But this one took me a little time to warm up to the storyline. It may be that this is the start of a new series and when you have a book that starts off something new there’s a lot that has to go into it. There’s a lot that the author has to create in order to get this new world started. And that could be why that I just couldn’t seem to connect with these characters. It might just be a case where I need to immerse myself into the series for a while and then I can go back and reread Kane and Halley’s story. Sometimes doing that I get a difference perspective than I did the first time around. The one thing that probably won’t change is that I get a smile by the time I finish the Epilogue.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I really enjoyed these characters and with both of their issues they are different but so alike. Halley has closed herself off from the world but also gives the people she cares about the benefit of the doubt but she is so broken down her walls are high and when she connects with Kane after 7 long years he is determined to break them down and ease some of her pain. I really liked Kane's patience with Halley going at her pace where she feels comfortable and he is such a family man dealing with so many issues at one time I had a lot of respect for him, the story will capture your heart its emotional and heartbreaking in places and I loved all of it.

When Mechanic Kane Harmon gets sent out to pick up a tow, he finds that it’s Halley Ward, someone who he knew in High School, but didn’t really know at all. He just knew that she didn’t have an easy life up until that point, so he stood up for her when needed. Both still living in a charming seaside community in Connecticut, where the summer tourists overflowed during those warm months, they hadn’t seen each other in years.

Kane owned his father’s garage, has a sister and nephew to also look after, was used to beautiful women coming on to him, but he stopped getting involved after a disastrous summer relationship. Haley lived an extremely introverted lifestyle. She lived by herself on the beach, trying to paint something that would catch the eye of a New York Gallery owner, so she could take her art to another level. But before Kane entered her life, her pictures were dark and drab.

Kane has an immediate reaction to Halley, one she says she isn’t interested in, yet Kane knows what he sees in her eyes. He decides he’s going to take it slow and see if he can get Halley to see that they aren’t that much different. With Kane in her life, her pictures became more vibrant and bold, something she’s never painted before.

Suddenly Halley’s past gets thrown back at her, all the progress they’ve made as friends and lovers disintegrates. Both are miserable until Halley realizes it’s up to her to fix things and make them right again. But is it too late?

An incredible journey of discovery that should not be missed.

The balance the author forges between two characters who have different ways they live their lives is almost harmonious. It's not an immediate entwining of souls but a slow merge that has been building for a long time coming.
Halley is an introvert who feels safe in the bubble she has built around herself. That is to an unexpected break down brings Kane back into her world. As a teen who was picked on Kane was always there to protect her without really being part of her world. Now, Kane runs a business and has his own family drama yet when he see's Halley again, he just knows he wants to see if he could take this attraction he feels for her further.

The balance of trying to merge their two worlds together is a heart warming experience and at times a bit exasperating, because until Halley can deal with her insecurities Kane is helpless. I felt a fondness for both characters. And yes, Halley wants to believe the best but sometimes you have to face the worst to understand what is right in front of your face.

This is one of those books that make you feel warm and fuzzy. Background information and description are the key to a complete and fulfilling story and this one had all the elements needed to be as close to perfection as a book can be. Wonderfully told, with two of the most beautiful characters that will steal you heart.

Halley Ward had a childhood that was filled with pain in the foster system, before her Aunt finally located her & got her out of it. But it left scars that keeps her from wanting to be around people at all, so she's okay with staying home, and painting alone. However, when her car breaks down, she has to get a tow, and that's when she comes face to face with Kane Harmon, who was her hero in High School, although they didn't really talk much. Kane is excited to see Halley again, and wants to make her his, but knows that he has a fight on his hands. As he pursues her, he gets her to open up more, and takes her out of her comfort zone, but when her feelings get stronger, will she take a chance on love? Fearless was a fantastic emotionally charged story that I couldn't get enough of. I love Carly Phillips brilliant writing style, as she's on my go to addiction list. Halley and Kane were amazing heroine/hero combo that I loved from the very beginning as they were awesome. And it certainly didn't hurt that their chemistry was strong enough to explode into some steamy sexy times that lit the sheets up! The cast of secondaries that made up each of their perspective families added in more depth, and at times, drama & humor. Add in a twist that forced out an f-bomb or two, and this was the perfect story, so I definitely CANNOT WAIT for Breath to come out, as I fell in love with Phoebe as well! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Fearless is the first book in the new Rosewood Bay trilogy, about three sisters, and can be read as a standalone book.

Halley went into the Foster system when she was three because of her drug addicted mother. She had some traumatic experiences that make her reclusive and unable to trust others in any kind of relationship. She paints for a living and sells to the town gallery, but wants to have a showing in New York.

Kane owns the local car repair garage, runs it with his father, who has gambling issues, and helps his sister and nephew out also. He was fooled before by a rich summer resort fling into thinking it was a meaningful relationship when she was just "slumming" for the season at the beach. Now he does fast and easy hookups, no strings attached.

Halley's SUV breaks down at the start of the book on her way to deliver paintings to the local art gallery. Kane is the tow truck driver who helps her out. They knew each other in high school when Kane defended Halley from bullies. Reunited, Kane is persistent about having a date with Halley. She refuses at first, but he eventually talks her into. Kane and Halley have several emotional hurdles to overcome as they bond emotionally and physically day by day. Can Halley let go of her past to find true happiness with Kane? Can Kane keep tearing down Halley' s walls while maintaining patience with her need for time and space? Enjoy their journey in Fearless.

Nate and Halley are an interesting pairing. When they were younger, he took it upon himself to watch out for her, even though they didn't know each other. As he got older he used his looks to clean up in his little shore town, until he tired of the game and realized he wanted more. Halley has always kept to herself, especially after her mom gave up caring for her kids and she became a victim of a terrible foster home. She prefers to live her life closed off...keeping to her paintings and her sister. The two are brought back together when her car breaks down and Nate is prepared to fight to get her out of her shell.

All in all, I really liked the book and while I wasn't always comfortable with the way Nate took control, I realized that he was doing what he needed to get the girl. I liked Nate's family, especially the added drama of his father's gambling problem, but I wanted more. I wanted to see some more of his interactions with all of his family, especially his nephew. The same goes for Halley's side of things. I don't think I realized that Phoebe had a child until the very end, but I may have missed a mention. Either way, I wanted more about Phoebe. You could see how much she and Halley cared for one another, but I still hoped for more.

I'm intrigued to see how Phoebe's story turns out, but I'm most excited to see how they get Juliette back.

Fearless is the first book the all new, exciting Rosewood Bay Series. Told from dual points of view, Fearless follows the story of Kane and Halley. From the moment Kane runs into Halley the fateful night that her car breaks down, he is hooked. He tries and tries to get her go out with her, but she just isn’t interested. Halley is closed off and enjoys her life of solitude. And it’s the life that Halley leads that makes Kane even more determined to bring her back to life….

Fearless pulled me in from the very first page. I was intrigued by the life Halley lived and the decisions she made. I wanted to know what happened to her and what made her this way. And Kane wasn’t perfect either. He had his own share of issues, but I loved his determination when it came to Halley. He wasn’t going to take no for an answer. He was determined to win her over and make her live again. These two characters couldn’t be more opposite when it came to their life choices, but that just made me love them even more.

Overall, I thought Fearless was a great start to this new series. I easily read this book in just one sitting. I thought the characters were fun and intriguing. I really enjoyed Kane and Halley’s story and enjoyed watching the two of them try to figure things out on their journey to a happily ever after.

Fearless was a great read. I loved that both Kane and Halley had a past but it wasn’t a romantic one. So while they knew each other, it was more in passing and through growing up in the same town.

Halley is someone who is having a hard time dealing with her past. So her solution is to keep to herself and avoid other people and situations where there may be a lot of people around. Needless to say she doesn’t have any friends. She only keeps up with her sister and her aunt.

Kane takes on learning more about Halley as well as, getting her to come out of her shell. He falls for Halley pretty fast but he knows she needs more time.

This was a quick and easy read. At times I found Halley’s quirks a bit hard to understand but overall it was an enjoyable book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fearless is an amazing start to Carly Phillips new series Rosewood Bay. The series is about Ward Sisters – Halley, Phoebe and Juliette.

Kane Harmon and Halley Ward reconnect with each other after Halley car breaks down. Kane was the boy who helped her in High School after she moved to town. Their story is full of emotions as they fight with acceptance, addition, and abandonment.

Carly knows how to pull you in with her characters and what they are going through, that you get lost in her books. Kane was the most patient man with Halley, which sometimes you want to yell at her to rely sooner on what a great guy she had. I relented with Halley so much with her issues with her mother that it broke my heart all over again.

**That little tease of Phoebe’s story has me impatiently for the next book**

I received a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations for leaving a review. This review is being left voluntarily and any and all thoughts are my honest opinions on this book and the authors work. This story centers around Halley, a women who lives a lonely life due to her emotional distance to every one, including her family, leaving her settled in her past and Kane, the town mechanic who is a bit jaded about the wealthy women who come to his beach town. The chemistry is smokin' but Halley refuses to give in, but Kane is persistent. The characters are well fleshed in there descriptions in this book. This story flows smoothly. The words used are well spread out to make this a realistic and believable story.

Halley and Kane’s love story was short but interesting and satisfying. I liked how they connected so easily, how they spent a lot of time near the beach, and that they knew and had a soft spot for each other even when they were young and still in school. They understood each other from the get-go and there was nothing forced or contrived in their relationship, which is rare these days. As to be expected, there were issues and problems that the leads had to deal with, particularly with their parents, but they weren’t too heavy or too depressing to drag the story down and dampen the romance. The preview at the end about Halley’s sister Phoebe was intriguing and definitely made me look forward to the other stories and characters in the Rosewood Bay series.

I'm a huge fan of this author and I thoroughly enjoyed Fearless. Its a pretty emotional read but I loved getting to know Halley and Kane.

Halley didn't have it easy when she was younger bounced from one foster home to another after been abandoned by her mother until she was taken home by her aunt. She's grown into a bright and beautiful young women but emotionally she feels like she's drowning like she's meant to live her life all alone. When her car breaks down by the side of the road a face from her past comes to her rescue. Will he be the one to finally start to break down her walls.

A great read and I can't wait to read Phoebe's story next.

This book is about overcoming the past so that you can embrace the present. Hailey grew up in foster care until her aunt rescued her and reunited her with her sister. Unfortunately, Hailey carries many scars from her past and convinces herself it’s better to be alone than be hurt. Kane has learned the hard way that his blue collar job makes him a novelty for the wealthy female tourists. After having his heart broken, Kane decides it’s best to avoid relationships. Until a broken down car, both Hailey and Kane’s plans were working fine...but you know what they say about best laid plans. This was a very satisfying read, Carly did a great job with the romance (and the heat), extended family stories and a great HEA. Good start to the series, can’t wait to read the others!

Fearless is the first book in the Rosewood Bay Series. I have now read a lot of Carly Phillips books and I love reading books from this author.

Fearless is Kane Harmon and Halley Ward’s story. It is a fairly fast book to read.

Halley has been “emotionally shut down” for a while now and she needs someone to bring her back to life. Kane not only rescues her when her car is broken down but, he has made it his mission to bring her back to life. Halley just needs to conquer her fears. Of course, this won’t be an easy job.

Does Kane succeed in bringing Halley back? I will let you decide. I enjoyed reading Fearless. Breathe will be the next book and will be Phoebe’s story. Phoebe is Halley’s sister and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Halley is broken, hiding from the world and avoiding emotional connections to protect herself.

Kane avoids romantic connections because the women around town for the summer are rich and just want a roll in the hay with the local mechanic. When he rescues her from the side of the road, so begins their journey together.

Kane's patience and good heart break down her walls and there is hope and a possibility of a future full of colour for Halley. But when her past rears its ugly head will she meet it head on or hide away from the world again?

This was a beautiful read despite its ugly beginnings. I loved these characters - they got under my skin. I can't wait for more from this series.

Fearless by Carly Phillips is the first book in the Rosewood Bay Series. Fearless is a full length, standalone, romance novel.
Meet Kane Harmon, he's a mechanic and garage owner in a beautiful beach town. He's used to deal with beautiful and wealthy women. Relationships are not his thing.
And then is there Halley Ward, she lives a solitary life and is tormented by her past. Kane and Halley are highschool friends, lost contact and now are back together. Then their love gets tested.
Kane rescues her and brings her back to life, 'til her past shows up on her doorstep.
Fearless is a sweet love story with edges and twists and turns. The writing is great and I love the characters. I could feel their emotions in the words and I give 4 sweet stars.

Fearless is the first book in the Rosewood Bay series and can be read as a standalone. Kane Harmon owns Harmons Garage. When he gets a call to pick up a vehicle, he is surprised to see it's Halley Ward, the girl from high school he defended from bullies. They haven't seen each other in 7 years. When he asks her out, she tells him she doesn't date. Can Kane break through her walls, gain her trust, and prove to her he's worth taking a chance on, or are her fears of being hurt too great to overcome?

I loved this story, I couldn't put it down. Ms. Phillips has a way of telling a story that pulls at your emotions and keeps you vested in the story. I look forward to book two in this series and highly recommend Fearless.

Carly is pure magic when it comes to writing books! This is the start to a new series. In it we meet Kane Harmon and his dysfunctional family and Halley and her even more dysfunctional family (at least her mom.) Kane and Halley knew of each other in highschool, but haven't run into each other since. The chemistry between the two is super hot! You should be able to feel the heat coming off the pages. Halley being traumatized by the foster care system is very closed off and reserved. You'll love seeing how Kane tears down her walls. An awesome start to a new series. Get ready to laugh, cry and swoon.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Halley’s artistic soul has been deeply hurt by her negligent and drug addicted mother and later on in foster care. She never overcame it and therefore is hiding behind layers and layers of walls.
This is until she meets Kane again, her hero, standing up for her in high school when she was harassed by her fellow pupils…
He has family issues of his own with his gambling addicted father…
Both connect very fast on several levels, understanding their mutual issues and demons…
This is a heart-warming story about second chances in life and love that you do not want to miss! I very much enjoyed reading it!

A very well written story with great storyline and plot. It has well described characters and they are likeable. A sweet and very enjoyable read that is captivating from the first to last chapter.
The story has passion and heart. It is a very easy and quick read. The characters have both had bad experiences in the childhood and they do not have easy to let go of their past. She is very closed up but Kane is a friendly person that is easy to speak with.
Sometimes the drama is predictable and the angst not that fearfull but it suits the story and gives it the needed push towards the five star review.

Another fantastic read from Carly Phillips! This author consistently delivers stories that readers fall in love with. Characters that are super relatable, likable...
The lead in Fearless, Kane, he's a super Hot mechanic who has not had it easy. He's an amazing son and brother. He's such a hard worker, kind and handsome. He's a MAN!
Halley hadn't had it easy either. Growing up in foster care, drug addict Mom, she's an artist who kinda just wants to be left alone...luckily for her, Kane doesn't want to!
No spoilers here but I devoured this read in two sittings...highly recommend this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read!

This romance features Kane Harmon and Halley Ward. These two knew each other in high school where he was always protecting her from bullies. Now, years later, she’s even more reclusive than he is. There’s definitely attraction between them but she’s extremely wary of being hurt. She had a rough time in the foster care system and Kane wants to be the man who brings sunshine back into her life.

This is a little different than what I’m used to from this author. It was a good read with a great romance but I couldn’t find the climax of the story. Even so, I look forward to reading book 2.

What a great start to a new series! Carly Phillips does a wonderful job of introducing this new series with Kane and Halley. This was an easy read. There are some stories that you have to keep reading to get interested but this isn’t one of them. I read it one day. It, also, shows that everyone’s family can be dysfunctional in different and varying ways. Halley’s circumstances in life made her very afraid to trust anyone but Kane eventually breaks down the barriers. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys likable couples and enjoys books that are linked by places or people.

Halley Ward grew up in the foster care system apart from her sister and carries a lot of baggage with her. She feels that she is better off alone and has built up a pretty big wall around her heart and does feel that she can love anyone the way they deserve to be loved. Then Kane Harmon walks back into her life. They knew each other growing up in high school when Halley went to live with her aunt, and Kane looked out for her and defended her when people were mean to her. Now that they’ve run into each other again, Kane is intrigued by her and starts to spend more time with her and trying to break down her walls. These are two people that both have their own issues with their families, but Kane is determined to help heal Halley and show her how strong she truly is and how much he loves her. This is a great story and you won’t be disappointed in this book.

Fearless by Carly Phillips was so good. I loved Kane and Halley love story. Years of not seeing each other since high school, they reunite. Kane is a mechanic and Halley is a painter. When Halley needs her car fixed, he comes to the rescue. Kane can’t get Halley out of his head and won’t let her go without a fight. There was so much going on in the book that kept you reading. Between Halley’s past and family issues and Kane’s family made this drama filled. Great secondary characters that added to the story. I can’t wait to read the next story about her sister Phoebe!

Halley Ward had a horrible childhood bouncing after being abandoned by her mom. Thankful her aunt found her and her sister Phoebe in foster care she is still afraid to live life to the fullest. Kane Harmon’s luck changes when Halley’s car broke down and he was sent to tow her in. Kane knew Halley was afraid but was determined to get to know this woman. Soon it was apparent to Kane that Halley was who he wanted a life with. Now will Halley be willing to take that chance? Fabulous new series and can’t wait for next book!!

Carly Phillips’ newest, Fearless, was an enjoyable read that doesn’t disappoint. Kindred spirits that had a connection of sorts in their high school days find themselves in each other’s lives again. And this time it will be more than just passing moments.

Carly brings her signature writing style that is a favorite of mine and easy to get hooked to. Being the first in a new series of hers it was a good start and I can’t wait to see where the rest leads!

Kane and Halley have both had pain in their pasts. Kane in the form of addiction to gambling by his father and Halley in the form of addiction to drugs by her mother. Both have worked hard to put their pasts behind them. They are both guarded and wary when it comes to relationships, but it was fun to read how they put all the negativity behind to find their HEA's. I loved this first installment of a new series. Carly Phillips is one of my all time favorite authors and I can't wait to read what comes next.

Fearless is book 1 in the new Rosewood Bay series by Carly Phillips and as always another well written book! It's takes you on a journey of two souls who are lost but for totally different reasons..when they meet Kane feels a connection to Halley and sets out to show her that life had color, hope and new beginnings but can these two find their ways together or will history repeat itself and keep the colors faded??

3.75 Star Read!!

I have been reading Carly Phillips books for years and have always enjoyed them. Fearless is the first book in Phillips new Rosewood Bay series and while not my favorite read to date, is still an enjoyable story. I feel like a synapsis of this one is a bit redundant on my behalf, so I will leave that out of my review. If you have read the blurb from goodreads or the store (or any number of other reviews), you can be assured Phillips tells you the background you need to start reading this book. Phillips writes stories that the reader can just dive right into. You’ll be able to finish it in one setting and will agree that they are well written. Often sweet and swoony with some sizzle for us that find that important in a good romance. Fearless offered readers a slow burn, sizzling read that was lite in angst. The ‘drama’ as it were being a little predicable but that’s not something that I would decrease the rating for. Fearless was well paced and had an engaging plot that will appeal to a range of reading preferences.

Now, my overall review for this book may seem a little on the low side for some. As such, I feel like it’s important to note that I am a tough critic. I work in the book industry and am an extremely avid reader. Combining the two often leave me at odds with one another in terms of rating a book. I struggle with what I think others will agree with and/or how much a book speaks to me. That said, I refuse to pad reviews, regardless of who the author is to me. With Fearless, I struggled with a little more than I usually do in a book by Carly Phillips, and that’s why I chose to rate this one as a 3.75-star review instead of rating it higher. The book is one that didn’t speak to me as much as some of the books I have read in the past by this author. The heroine, Halley, was a recluse with a lot of unresolved feelings because of her upbringing. Halley’s character didn’t jive with me as authentic for a few reasons – but since I am not comfortable with posting spoilers, I will just state that I feel like she contradicted herself too much. I also felt like as cool as I found Kane, he was to complacent with walking away from Halley. If his feelings were as strong for her as he asserted, he would have fought a little harder to keep her. I still hope you will look to Carly Phillips work because she is a great author and you will enjoy any and all books she’s written. Like me, you will have to agree that not every book is a 5-star read, but still they are in no way a waste of your time!

I absolutely loved this book. It was an emotional read for me and I did cry. I ached for Halley and felt her emotions throughout the book. I loved Kane and how patient he was and that early on, he knew she was worth having a relationship with. They were so cute and I loved how close they became and that they helped each other as they had different issues with family. I highly recommend this book. We get both pov, a happy ever after and no cliffhanger.

A FANFREAKINGTASTIC new book from Carly Phillips! I LOVED Fearless! Its downright sexy, its romantic, it has heart, its hard NOT to like this book. I have always been a huge fan of Carly Phillps and her books. But Fearless is something that still managed to throw me for a loop. I loved the idea of a sexy mechanic and a reclusive artist getting together, especially with some stuff from Halley's past that created a divot in the relationship. But the fact that Kane was incredibly sweet, charming and determined to show her that he doesn't give up easy, made me love this book even more.

Carly Phillips is a great writer. You see how great she is in Fearless especially. The way she seemed to just grab me through the book and didn't let go is a huge compliment. The plot had me captivated and the characters...just amazing! I want MORE!

Fearless gets a MUST DROP WHAT YOUR DOING AND READ THIS FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I love this new series. Carly Phillips has a gift for creating characters and stories that break my heart and then puts it together again. Kane is an automobile mechanic who is trying to keep his dad's gambling addiction from tearing their family apart. Halley is an artist who has isolated herself from the world after bad experiences while in foster care as well as school bullying after being taken in by her aunt at the age of thirteen. When Halley's car breaks down, Kane answers the request for a tow truck. Kane remembers Halley from when they were in school. He is immediately attracted to Halley and determined to break down her walls and win her heart. The scars of her childhood are deep and Halley struggles to trust and open her heart. This book grabbed my attention from the start. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Wow!! Fearless is the perfect story to start off the new Rosewood Bay series by Carly Phillips!

Halley is a quiet woman who has kept to herself for years because of all of the issues her family has had. Kane, a mechanic, also has his fair share of family issues but does not let that get him down. When he is called to tow Halley’s car, he’s smitten with the woman he once knew back in High School. Kane knows that it will take patience, understanding and a whole lot of trust to keep Halley in his life for good, which is exactly what he wants. But when Halley runs, will Kane have what it takes to show her that he is truly in this for the long haul?

I truly enjoyed this book and devoured it in one afternoon. The story was full of all the emotion you could possible pack into one story...from hurt to helplessness to love and understanding. I look forward to so much more from Rosewood Bay!

After Kane's father nearly loses the family auto repair garage due to his gambling obsession Kane has taken over the ownership and keeps a close eye on his father. Living in a resort town Kane has learned (by being burnt a couple times) to stay away from summer flings, the women might be knock-out gorgeous but the heartache at the end of summer when they leave isn't worth it.

Growing up Halley's mother had a drug addiction and neglected her and her sister which landed them in the foster care system. Things got better for them after their aunt took them in.

Kane meets Halley when he tows her stalled car to his repair garage. He convinces her to go on a date with him and their friendship begins and flourishes. This was a great story that I really enjoyed reading I am looking forward to the next book in this series. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."

Fearless is a short book by Carly Phillips and is everything I was expecting from her. And I don't mean that it's the same story over and over again. I have come to expect a good romance and characters that I will at least like. The book is another winner. I couldn't put it down because I wanted to know everything about these characters and their pasts. The characters of this book are unique and loveable. Kane and Halley's characters were constructed very well and I could see why they were behaving the way they did instead of wondering what was going on in their minds. The title is on the point and the book couldn't have a better name. Our characters face their fears and especially in Halley's case they bare themselves to the other. I have high hopes for the rest of the books too. I can't wait to see more of these characters in the upcoming books. This book is definitely worth reading.

4 Crazy Ass Stars!!!

With a title like "Fearless" and the cover, I was expecting more drama and angst. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this story very much but I wasn't expecting it to be a light read. Honestly, I didn't read the blurb and went into this blind so my misconceptions are based solely on my judgment of the cover and title. I know they say "don't judge a book by it's cover" but it happens, even to me.
My preconceived notions did not factor into my enjoyment of the book. Once I started reading, I did not put my kindle down until I read the last words.
I loved all the characters. Kane was so sweet and had me swooning up a storm. Halley, I loved watching her come into her own.
This was a great start to kick of a new series. I'm looking forward to getting the next book in this series and getting Phoebe's story.

A great start to a new series from Carly Phillips. This book took me through every emotion whilst reading it. Have to say I absolutely loved Kane. He is one od the best male characters I have read in quite some time. He wasn't afraid to fall in love and to express his feelings. He also loved his family, flaws and all.
Halley has had a terrible childhood. The person who was supposed to protect her, chose to put their addiction before their children. Halley's childhood still affects her as an adult, to the point where she lets her insecurities override what she really wants.
Kane was definitely the man she didn't know she was waiting for, and their relationship was just beautiful to read. Looking forward to reading Phoebe's book next.

I normally love Carly Phillips writing, but I'm not sure why exactly, but I didn't love this book. I actually had a hard time getting through it. I think it was partially because I never connected to these characters. The plot was interesting and the story was fine, but there was a disconnect for me. That being said, you might find it to be your favorite read! I did enjoy how Kane wanted to get to know Halley and wasn't the type of guy who only wanted sex. He wanted to get to know who she was and wanted her to trust him. Halley hasn't had an easy life and she definitely doesn't trust anyone but her family. As she gets to know him, she finds she wants more from him that she hasn't wanted from anyone else. Their story was sweet and I do want to read the next book in the series.

I recieved a complimentary copy of this book through Crazy Cajun Book Addicts for an honest review.
