Most families are dysfunctional in some way. This series proves to be an interesting take on a dysfunctional family. I loved Ren and Cillas love story and found the background stories also kept my interest. I am looking forward to book 2 of the series and learning more about the lives of the velvet lemon children while also getting my romance appetite fed and fed well. I would recommend starting this series to anybody who enjoys reading romance and enjoys delving deeper into the character's family dynamic. A very enjoyable read.

Loved it!! I was hesitate to purchase Light My Fire as it seemed very different from Ms. Ridgway's other books, which I have enjoyed. I was captivated from the beginning. The characters of Ren and Cilla are well-developed throughout the story; they are likable, and, as a reader, I found myself invested in them. I also liked the introductions to other members of the Rock Royalty family and am eagerly anticipating reading future books in this series and discovering what mysteries are uncovered with each character. Ms. Ridgway's book is very well-written with strong dialogue and emotion. Yet, her humorous moments keep the story from being too melodramatic. Thank you, Ms. Ridgeway, for another delightful story!

This is the first book in the Rock Royalty series and I am hooked! Nine children born to rock star fathers. Each has their own emotional issues, but Cilla and Ren head back to the ranch after the death of their mother figure. As they struggle to find their way in life after a less than normal childhood, they meet again and things get steamy! You meet the other "siblings" in this book and can't wait to read about each of them.

Ren and Cilla grew up in the same compound however it is years later and no one has lived there in a long time. Cilla went back to escape and was not expecting to wake up to Ren in her bed. They try to pretend there is no heat and they will stay as is. The heat starts and feelings start. Family reuniting occurs, your tears will fall and you will laugh. Read this book and you will become part of the Lemon family.

What a terrific way to discover a new author. The story of Ren and Priscilla, 'Cilla', was a great read. I just love stories of characters who find a happy ending after a tough times and this story delivers. Two people who are the children of rock stars come together after a dysfunctional childhood. The exploration of their growth toward each other was a great read. Looking forward to more books from this author.

A fascinating story of two people fighting the angst of the way they grew up to find out how to become whole as adults. A love story of awakening emotions and surprises with a satisfying finish. Don't worry there are still questions for the next go round, to keep you in the loop with the rest of the group. Enjoy, and feel like giving Ren a bop upside the head once or twice to knock some sense into it. ;-)

I found Christie Ridgway through Book Gorilla, which is a daily mailing list that sends out free and discounted titles. I actually read book #2 of the Rock Royalty series first, but loved it so much, that I knew I had to read the 1st one too! I was not disappointed!! Ms. Ridgway's writing develops likeable characters and hot steamy scenes. I am looking forward to read the remaining Rock Royalty stories.

This story was amazing! I read it in one sitting, Once I started I couldn't stop. Cilla and Ren were sweet and real. The writing was excellent and the storyline was well developed. Their dads were in a singing group together. There are three dads and nine children altogether, and the glimpses of the other siblings was entertaining as well. I can't wait to read more of this series.

I love the back story created for this series. Right away you know its going to be about sex, drugs, and rock &roll which is really different for a typical romance book. As I'm reading Ren & Cilla's story which was a great introductory story to get you to know the other siblings - I'm already wondering what's going to happen to each of the other sibs! So this 1st book was a winner for me and I've already read the 2nd one and ready to move on. I'm never disappointed in a Christie book when I'm shopping for a new read! Becky P.

This story of two hearts broken from a neglectful childhood. They found each other again and healed each other. The back grounds and personalities of all characters in the story were so interesting, I just got the second book and will continue the series. Christie Ridgways character developing skills make each character so unique and interesting. Thank you Mrs. Ridgways for this series!

Renford (Ren) Colson doesn't plan on encountering any other of the Rock Royalty group that he grew up with when he returns to Los Angeles for a two week vacation, but he's pleasantly surprised to awake and see Cilla Maddox in the same bed. Ren was the first of the Rock Royalty to leave and Cilla is the last one. It's interesting to discover what these two different people can teach each other.

A good story. I'm enjoying the overall story about reuniting(?) The 9. Such an interesting group. These 2 who feel so separate from them and each other hsd a lot to learn. I believe they have a interesting future.

There were some unanswered questions in this story that bothered me from Renxs past. This is why I marked a 4 out of 5.

I very much enjoyed this introduction into the lives of the Rock Royalty kids. Cilla and Ren stumble into their relationship and it is so much fun to watch... I love books in which the characters struggle with the dilemma of doing what they want to do versus what they think they should do. I found the premise of the book to be good, and I look forward to reading more books in this series.

I really enjoyed this story.
This story is full of smiles, laughter, anxiety, heartache, hope and dreams = everything that a good book needs to keep you reading along.
Add to that the hot sex scenes and it was almost perfect!
The book was a quick read and had the HEA that I love to have books end with.
Great start to a new series!

I loved Ren and Cilla chemistry as a couple. They're both interesting characters and made this a fun story to read. The secondary characters were enjoyable, and I look forward to seeing them in future stories. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Plus as a big fan of The Doors I love that some of the titles are the same as the titles to some of their songs.

I enjoyed this book. It had a haunting quality to it especially for Ren that you wanted to see him over come. It was a bit frustrating because it brought up a couple of things in the envelope of pictures and then never talked about it again. You felt that this was the clue to part of why Ren removed himself from the others but it was never discussed again. I wouldn't mind reading more in the series if the price drops a little

Children of three male bachelors who lived in a compound surrounded by anything but compassion, parental love, or sibling understanding, find, through the groupie/mother figure, that family really is the most important thing.

Christie talks a bout how Ren is emotionless, or thinks he is, only to prove himself wrong time and time again. He is a lonely person seeking attachment subconsciously . Villa, a perso known for being lonely, helps Ren through his problem as well as taking the reins to fix her own. I think the characters personalities should be delved into deeper.

This was my first book by Christie Ridgway and it was awesome! Ren and Cilla both have issues due in large part to their unconventional upbringing as children raised soley by their rockstar fathers, but the story gives us all hope that we can overcome our pasts and find happiness. This book, with its descriptive and vivid love scenes, was hot and steamy, which made it hard to put down at times. My feelings and emotions were engaged, although there were times I would like to have knocked both Ren and Cilla over the head-lol! I am hooked now and I will have to read ALL of the Rock Royalty series!!

I've read all Christie Ridgway's books & have enjoyed each & every one. As you read her books you feel like you can actually picture everything that is going on. I enjoyed reading Light My Fire because I felt it was written like a fairy tale romance for Ren & Cilla. I really would have loved to meet Gwen more in the story since it seems like she had a lot to do with all the kids when they were little & she is the one who brings them back together after she passes away thru Ren. The story also shows how opposites do attract & how kids with rock star parents can find love although their parents really weren't there to raise them. I can't wait to read the rest of the series & meet the other kids & see what happens in their lives. It seems like Christie Ridgway's book just keep on getting better & better. Keep the books & the new series coming.

Steamy and sweet. They are 9 children of rock stars who grew up on a compound together but had no real adult relationships. The woman who helped raise them died and he came back because she left him something. She was living there to get away fro her ex. They started a romance that they thought was temporary as he lived in London and was a loner.

I really enjoyed reading Ren and Cilla's story in Light My Fire . Christiey Ridley wrote a great story in developing the relationship between Ren and Villa. She was able to tell a story that explain how they became who they are now was shaped by their childhoods. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

i thoroughly enjoyed this book that has great chatacters, romance and intrigue. it was sadhow the rock star royalty kids were left mostly on their own and had commitment issues. i loved the ending and highly recommend it to lovers of this genre, and I plan to read the other books in the series.

It started slow and predictable and I was not sure if I really liked it. But then the push and pull of the whole story drew me in. Now I know I will continue with the series, my interest is piqued with Cilla and Ren.
It can be a stand alone happy ending, but where is Beck and what about the mystery baby?
Going to find out, I hope.

I love the setting, characters and concept of this book. Nine children fathered by rock stars left to their own devices growing up as Rock Star Royalty. The series kicks off with vulnerable Cilla and closed off Ren who reunite after the death of a loved one. Prepare for heartbreak, hope, and steamy scenes. Bring on book two!

Wonderful story about two people finding their way to a relationship despite the dysfunction of their mutual childhood. Their finding a way to overcome the negatives of growing as part of Rock Royalty and finding they could love was beautiful. I can't wait to read the next book, seeing Gwen's love bloom in each of the Lemmon Kids.

I absolutely loved this book. I came across this book recently and absolutely loved it. It was a great story about emotionally limited individuals who come across each other again and connect and grow with each other. A beautiful story about finding love and taking chances with your heart.

A very good book, two people who find themselves together and decide whether or not they can and will stay together. With their differences the two find their way to each other and a deserving relationship. Christie is a good author and writes books that are interesting, easy to read and enjoyable.

An awesome new family series that does not have cliffhangers...loved the different personalities of the different siblings and how they have worked thru the dysfunctional family setting they were raised in or so they think, until love finds a way in. Will certainly read the rest of this series?

The beginning threw me for a while with the introduction of so many characters, but once it narrowed to Ren and Cilla, my enjoyment soared.
Light My Fire is such a fresh and interesting take on "family". It plays on music history and opens your heart and eyes to possibilities of happiness hidden in shadowed corners.
I look forward to reading the rest of this refreshing series.

I used to love reading anything by Christie Ridgway, but this book? I can't even get halfway through it and since it was thankfully a free eBook, I'm going to delete it from my library without even reading the rest of it.

I find the characters boring or just plain unlikeable, I don't like the use of offensive language, (which I really don't recall in her earlier books and am really getting sick of finding in nearly every book I read these days), I don't like the crude sexual language, again something I don't recall in her earlier works, and there is just nothing I find in this book which endears me to it. I got as far as page 120 and had to force myself to even read that far.

Not her best work by any means, and since I refuse to pay $5 for eBooks unless they have a lot more pages than what Christie is selling as followups to this one, I certainly won't even bother buying the rest of this series.

I'm being generous giving it two stars.

I hope Christie goes back to writing cute and funny stories the way she used to, without the graphic sex and use of profanity, and releases them as regular books. If not, then here goes another formerly favorite author I'll have to stop reading.

I enjoyed reading this book. The whole premise of this story spoke to me and set the stage for further books in a series. The main characters were well developed and appealing. I look forward to reading other books in this series.

This book was very well written and kept my attention throughout the book. This is the first book in a series and I look forward to reading the other books. At first it was tough to keep all the characters straight, but by the middle of the book, the characters were easy to remember and they were weaved throughout the main story line beautifully.

I love Christie Ridgway. Beach House no 9 still sits high on my list of books to read again. This books marks the beginning of a new series, and I was so excited to see that. All the Ridgway magic included, compelling characters, a wonderful heartfelt story and plenty of steam and sizzle. Loved it!

Having been a reader of Christie Ridgway's in the past I knew her writing style so I had an idea of what to expect in regards to the storytelling she was going to have. I think Christie did a great job of developing her main characters. She allowed you to learn about their past all the way up to the present day. That is something you are really good at as an author or not. In addition, I felt she did a great job of setting the scene for the book. She made it very realistic of what a child of a rock star could look like and how their life could turn out. Lastly, I think the item that she did a great job of talking about was in regards to Cilla and her ex boyfriend and how he was very controlling and possessive. She did a very good job of describing the effects that could have on a woman and her ability to trust men.

In regards to the writing style of this book I would say that it was okay. Of all of the books that I have read of hers I would say that this was not at the top of the list. I think that the story line was great and kept my interested. However, I think that the sexual innuendos through out the book were over done and in someways distracted the reader from the real story of the book. I think this is something a new reader of hers could see as distracting and not want to continue reading the book.

All in all I thought that this book was very interesting and had a great storyline. Although this writing stysle of hers isn't my favorite it won't stop me from reading more books of hers and or more in this series.
