Love these books a great story with some really nice twist along the way. Love how Jim Butcher has really developed these characters. The magic, world, and details given to each race and faction are great very in depth development.

Harry Dresden is one of those characters that you fall more in love with each book. I'm so glad to have found this series. Mystery, magic, mayhem and romance in each new story along with the same lesson over and over in different ways. Do the right thing and realize that no one person can do anything without help and friends along the way.

I am re-reading this whole series again. And everytime I read this series it gets better and better. I will not go into a big synopsis of this book let's just say these key words White Court,Red Court. Toot-Toot makes a great renewed appearance in this story and we finally get to meet his first love Elaine and how his young life revolved around her. Start with first book in the series you will understand better about the situation. But, read this series it's great.

Very good except for being a detective and always getting jumped he's never on his guard and is never scanning his area for ambushes. Bring a police officer for 25 years makes you always aware of your surondings and potential threats. I think he could be a little more careful.

Dresden is the adult Harry Potter who has the mouth of Dennis Leary. He is and will be always the standard that all other books of this genre is measured against. Be he tangling with fairies, warlocks, ghosts, werewolves, vampires or things that go bump, he is the one who bumps back and makes them run.

Poor Harry,
Cons- He gets beat up a lot...again
Pros - I can't help but enjoy that fact. It makes it so much better when he somehow survives and makes it to the next book in the series.
Also, lots of sneaky fairies in this one.

Summer Knight is an enjoyable installment in the Dresden Files. This one gives a little more insight into the political world of the White Council, Nevernever, etc. It's a little more epic in its scope than previous books.

Loved it. No complaints.

I really enjoy the character and world butcher has created in these books. My inner nerd laughs hard at the constant references to sci fi and fantasy, and some of the one liners are so bad they're good. If you've read any of the previous books and liked them you'll like this one too.

Really engaging story. No terribly irritating characters. Even Murphy managed not to behave like an idiot. I look forward to seeing more of the political side of things.
I took away a star because thus ebook is horrifically overpriced and, even for the extra money, they still couldn't manage to put spaces between words!

With the fourth book, Jim Butcher continues to improve his writing and wit. The relationship between Dresden and Toot and the scene with Dresden and Lady Winter are especially well written.

Much like the Alphas and Toot... Butcher is coming into his own.

I could not imagine how life could be affected if there was a Fae battle between their worlds but this story really brought it to the forefront . It was an interesting story with the help of friends to defeat the bad guys ! Worth reading till the end'

This book is so much fun! Jim Butcher really does his homework when it comes to researching phenomena and addinghis own twist to it. Another great factor is the way the events in each book feed into the others. This creates a build up in each book, and the entire series. I also love the humour. Just can't complain.

I'm still working through these but it suffers from some of the same problems as the first three. He has no serious characters and seems to only be able to do juvenile dialog on top of stories that could be so much more. I've been told HS latest is good though so I'll be buying nine more.

I've been rereading this series because it's been years since the most recent book and I had forgotten how much trouble I had with the way Harry Dresden treats women. This book was much different. I didn't realize it before but I think this series is at its best when the Fae are involved. So many of the most important characters in the series are introduced in this book and I really feel like this is where Jim Butcher hit his stride. And this is the first book where I love what he did with Murphy. Now if only we could get him to stop describing women based on how much he can see pressed against their shirts...

Great book, good fun, good action, and funny, well placed, one liners, all mixed up with magic and a goofy detective wizard, what more could you ask for?

A great read if you're lookin for some fun where you don't have to think too hard and just want some good ole' wizard detective action.

Jim has written another well crafted modern fantasy story that follows the only advertising wizard in Chicago. His characters are well fleshed out and filled with all the human frailties that make a character interesting. His plots are wickedly twisted and his imagination is well rounded.

This second novel of the Dresdan Files series is highly recommended.

Another romp with Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden. Just when you think he can't wreak more havoc, well this time it could mean the end of the world. Again.

I love Jim Butcher's writing style, the characters he populates the Chicago landscape with, and his delight in bad cliches and movie quotes. I just started the series about two weeks ago, and I have read through each and every book and they keep getting better. This is a must have for anyone who enjoys the paranormal genre.

If you like Harry Dresden, you'll like this book. Yes, that;s a lame review. There are pl;ot subtelties and character developments that I really should comment upon. Of course, if I did I'd spoil the book. So, I'll just say, if you like Harry, you'll like this book! Go for it!

This is more of a wonderfully written romp than a vampires and wizards horror novel. The whole series has this sense of humor that drew me in and hooked me good. I'm reading all of these, then going into hibernation until Butcher writes again.

I finally finished the 4th book in the Dresden Files Series (only a million more to go!). While the last book was setting up this huge story-line for Dresden that I am pretty sure is going to span a couple of books, this book was the first in which we actually get to see what this bigger picture is. While you only get a glimpse of what could go down, it's huge. So, Dresden is still Dresden. He's pissing everyone off and of course, getting himself in over his head. At least he still has his magic and perviness. Dresden is still reeling from the consequences of his actions from with the Red Court and now he's forced to take a case for the Winter Queen.

What I really liked about this book is we finally see Dresden accept help. He is starting to realized he cannot protect and leave everyone in the dark. Lots of allies from the past books are brought into the fold and we get to meet a few new ones. The list of side characters are getting a little long for me to remember who is who, but of course I remember the regulars like Murphy and Bob, but we now have the Alphas, the Queens and the wizard council members. That is a lot of side characters to remember.

The story was pretty good, even with the over-sexualization of female characters, and I feel like Butcher finally has an idea of where this series is heading.

Butcher again develops an amazing storyline with both old and new characters. The plot is amazing as is the wit - more than once I laughed out loud - the series continues to intrigue and I look forward to the next book.

JIm Butcher writes an end to end epic journey, and I love each and every volume.
Dresden finds himself in service of the faerie courts in order to solve a murder, and stop a shift of power that could destroy the mortal world!
