Author NEVER disappoints!!! Some romances novels start to sound similar or have a lot of predictable scenarios, but Brittainy’s writing is unique and so incredibly hard to put down! Words cannot praise this book or Brittainy Cherry’s work enough!!

Every single word. I loved each and every one. My goodness Brittainy C. Cherry you write the best heartbreaking heartwarming heartwrenching stories ever. I cursed myself having to put my kindle down last night after I started this book and couldn't wait to be able to pick it up again today, I rushed through dinner to get back to this gem of a read and didn't want it to end. Simply brilliant, loved it.

I read the one star reviews before buying this book but there were so many positive reviews so I decided to chance it. I've read a few others by Brittainy Cherry and thought they were decent. This one was not. The writing was just juvenile and there are so many inconsistencies with the characters. Not one character was truly likeable. I was hoping it would get better as it went but the end of the book was worse than the beginning. Don't waste your time or money.

Prologue, 55 chapters. No epilogue.
The beginning was frustrating, After reading on the break up between her and her ex, then an annoying argument between her in the hero. Then to another emotional outburst with her ex, I was so frustrated. I just wanted to slap her. All she does is cry. She comes off very weak. I understand the emotional break down because of what is being thrown at her. But, stop crying, pick your self up and do something about. 13 % through and she cried like 3 times already.
Whenever I blinked, I was certain I was seconds away from falling apart. << Please not again... I hate weak heroines.
14% through-- She says "I'm sorry" about 4-7 times already. Both to her ex, and to Jackson. Both tell her the same. --Stop doing that--
"I told you so," Mama hissed beside me as we sat in the church pew Sunday morning. The whispering voices were still speaking about me, but not their narrative included Jackson's name.
"Are you happy?" Mama asked me. "Are you proud of yourself for what these people are saying?"
I took a deep breath. "I don't care."
"Are you happy?" Mama asked me. "Are you proud of yourself for what these people are saying?"
I took a deep breath. "I don't care." -- I still can not figure out why her mother has a problem with her, unless it has something to do with her mother being a preachers wife and she takes it seriously. And maybe the heroine is not perfect enough for her. So what, what people thinks.. Goodness. She is a grown woman.
51% through and I am still waiting for the romance to pick up.
So much young drama.
I have read this authors books before and loved them. That is why I didn't hesitate on one clicking this one.
but this one is a huge let down.
At 50 % I was tired of reading. At 51 % when her mother went in the shop and told Jackson to stay away from her daughter I stopped reading. I mean we are reading on adult characters right?

I love Brittainy C Cherry. Some of her stories are my all time favorite reads. The emotions she gets me to feel and the characters she writes are just beautiful.
Grace has not had a good time of it recently. Her husband has left her, he cheated on her, she is going home to her small town for the summer but he will be there as well. Add to the fact that her family is like royalty in town, her father the preacher, and she has to smile and be nice and courteous to everyone. Even if she feels like she is going to break and can't deal with everyone. I really liked Grace. She is one of those people who puts everyone before themselves. Who would never say a bad word about anyone even when they are being horrible to her face. She still puts up with it. Only she is such a people pleaser she doesn't know herself. She doesn't know what she likes, what she really wants, anything about herself. She has gone along with what other people wanted for so long she doesn't even know how to figure it all out. How to figure out who she really is.
Jackson is the town monster. Everyone knows he is horrible just like his father, the town drunk. And his family hates Grace and her family. Grace's family treated them like garbage and so Jackson doesn't want anything to do with her. Only when he meets Grace, when they keep crossing paths, she is nothing like he thought. She is kind and sweet and caring and he is still gruff and angry and hurt. He is broken, has been for a long time, and he doesn't know how to let people in. How to be nice and not hurt other people. Even though he is secretly so sweet and kind himself, he doesn't want to be hurt again. He knows what emotions can do to a person, just look at his dad. He doesn't want any part of that. Oh, my heart hurt for Jackson. He lives in a town that reminds me of where I grew up. Full of super Christian people that are the biggest hypocrites I have ever met. That claim to be all about Jesus and his teachings, but wouldn't help you no matter what. Because you were a kid when everything happened and your family is garbage. So you don't deserve it. Which is the exact opposite of what a good Christian should do. He is stuck in this town full of people who treat him poorly and that is the way it is.
Now, these two were so sweet together. I loved them. I know they both need to figure things out, need to get over their baggage if they are going to be together, but oh, I loved them. So if I loved them both so much why is my rating not higher? Well...I know how amazing this author can write. How she can make me almost cry through a story. How the emotions just sweep me away. But...this one while I really enjoyed it, while the writing was beautiful, was a bit...not as intense as I was hoping. For what the story was it didn't get to me as much as I know it could have. Plus towards the end some of the characters magically are not as bad as they were the entire story and it did make me roll my eyes a little bit. Trust me I wish it were so easy to get people to change their ways, especially considering the state of the US today, but it is not so believable. If they would have slowly changed and gotten better, done better things, I would have enjoyed it more. But the end? Oh, that was so sweet. I loved it. I feel like the very end was what I was hoping the whole story would be. While I did enjoy it, it is a sweet read, I wanted it to be more. But that's okay. It was a good read.

“Always and Always”
Disgrace by Brittainy C. Cherry was an emotional, heartbreaking, beautiful story. A story about two broken people who are complete opposites, and from different worlds. A story about accepting forgiveness, moving forward to begin the healing process. A story about rediscovering one self. Brittainy has a way with her words she tells the story eloquently.
Jackson Emery, oh how my heart broke for this poor boy. A broken “bad boy” who’s just existing in a small town......Chester, Georgia. A town where everyone knows your business and rumors spread like wildfire. Jackson despises all the town gossip, they call him a monster, ex junkie. His father is the town’s drunk, Jackson has the burden of taking care of him. He’s life has been rough, he uses sex as way to escape everything. Jackson keeps everyone at a distance, he doesn’t let anyone get close to him, in fear of getting hurt even more.
Gracelyn Mae, was raised to be prim and proper. After all she’s the Preacher’s daughter, she could do no wrong. Grace feels like a failure in her life, her marriage of fifteen years is ending, she’s returning back to her hometown. A town where she grew up and knows everyone. What will they think of her and say about her marriage collapsing? The people of Chester gossip about her odd behavior and the choices she’s been making lately. Especially with her being seen with Jackson on numerous occasions. Poor Grace the pain and suffering she endured was devastating.
Jackson and Grace’s first initial meeting didn’t go so well. He was a mean, angry jerk towards her. Grace came across as the “perfect princess “ who didn’t want for anything. Looks can be so deceiving, never judge a book by its cover!
What was supposed to be just a summer fling, no strings attached relationship.....turns into so much more. Two tortured souls, two people who have been betrayed find solace in one another. Can Jackson and Grace heal and move on from the past? What will become of these two? Definitely pick this one up you will not be disappointed!

Disgrace is a standalone contemporary romance. This is my sixth book by this author.
I am really not an abs on cover fan at all unless it's done in an interesting or artistic way. However I have really enjoyed all of the books that I have read by this author. So I knew that I wanted to read Disgrace. After reading the book I don't feel like the cover does the book justice. But that is just my opinion.
The narrators of this book are Grace (30) and Jackson (24). When the book begins Grace is married to Finn. But he is leaving her. This was a bit of a weird start for me because usually in a romance one of the people is not already married.
The story is set in a small town called Chester, Georgia (it is 5 hours from Atlanta). Grace's family is royalty as her dad is the pastor at the church. Jackson and his dad are the town pariahs. And Jackson is a womanizer.
At the beginning of the book I actually did not like either of the narrators. Grace was so whiny and always crying. And Jackson slept with so many women and he was really not very nice.
I hated all the gossip in their small town. There were definitely quite a few unlikable characters. Although there were a few great ones too. I loved Grace's sister Judy and her friend Josie. But Grace's mom was really annoying.
The second half of the book was much stronger for me. Everything came together. There were some interesting revelations that I did not see coming. And I enjoyed the narrators much more.
The book deals with a bunch of important issues: infidelity, alcohol and drug abuse, forgiveness, and infertility. The title is actually really good and fits the story in a bunch of ways.
Overall, it was interesting to see two broken people try to learn to live again. I found the book to be emotional and the story did make me feel. However, there were too many instances of one of the important issues. And the implications of another one was not explored to my satisfaction. But this was a good read.

Powerful Emotions
This book packs a punch, will knock you down, make you walk through a gamut, you'll look at the walls adorned with beautiful artwork of human relationships. A girl is on a brink of a major upheaval in life, which throws everything she's ever believed in up in disarray.
Our lives had been so tangled together that I was almost certain he took parts of me when he untied our love.
Who was I supposed to be now?
Was I even still a person of my own accord?
Without Finley, did I even exist?
To find a way out of this fog of deceptions and betrayals, she finds a beacon of hope in the town's monster. Together they support each other and try and fix their broken lives. The strongest underlying message is empowerment of women. Not lay down and be treated as a doormat, but find a voice and follow it, shed the shackles of their subjugation. Believing in themselves rather than feeling lost without men.creating their own identity and not losing their sparkle in shadows of their men
Love was a messy emotion that didn’t walk a straight line. It worked in waves and loops of ups and downs. It was a screwy emotion that could somehow still exist amidst the ultimate heartbreak and betrayal. .
The most amazing thing about picking up a Brittainy Cherry book is that you're guaranteed to have an emotional storm in your heart. Sympathies swirl and twist , uplift and drown, ebb and flow , sweeping you in a river swollen with moods , tempers and sentiments. The story pierced straight in my heart with its honesty and passion. My eyes were overflowing and my insides were twisting. I rooted for Grace & Jackson, cried for them, was ready to fight their families the town, the entire world for them.
I wished there was a way to stop it— to shut off the love faucet, to make my heart stop feeling.
But still, it felt.
Still, it burned.
They go through so much torment, such anguish, such conflict, I was done. I was ready to take a hammer and beat up a car or something, trash a shop, break some bottles, anything to vent my anger. Every couple Brittainy creates, they're beautiful but broken souls, victims of life and its circumstances.
In a small town in Georgia, A damsel meets a monster and she zooms in close enough to see deep into his beautiful soul hidden behind the perceived ugliness. It takes a lot of courage, a lot of patience and a lot of generosity of spirit, all of which Grace Harris has in abundance.
You just needed faith the size of mustard seed that no matter what, things would work out.
Schooled to be a perfect lady, Programmed to behave like a Stepford wife, as she and her sister Judy have to hide their ambitions, thoughts, emotions and opinions to themselves and trim their personalities to fit into the "Pastor's Family" expected framework.
Jackson and his dad are town monsters. Beasts to be feared and avoided at all costs and ridiculed whenever. They're ostracized by day but solicited at night by hungry women looking to be fixed
The women of that town had no problem hating me when the sun shone while moaning my name when the shadows of the night fell. I was the secret escape from their fake realities. Some kind of challenge for their well-behaved Southern souls.
I cant, won't give the story away, but I'll say this.It just surprises you at every turn every chapter the story develops and reveals truths. Ugly truths about small townspeople mentalities and it's prejudices
On the other hand there's beautiful truths about kindred spirits finding solace together, healing their wounded hearts together
"when you zoom in, when you truly look at the person beside you, you’ll see many of the same things. Hope. Love. Fear. Anger. Once you zoom in, you realize we are all similar in so many ways. We all bleed red, and even monster’s hearts can break. Just gotta remember to always zoom in.”
To always zoom in…
This book is not JUST a story, its a pious sermon, reminding us to open our hearts always. Let the fresh air of acceptance and love come in, swirl around, drive away demons of prejudices, stink of bias and mould of judgements out of our hearts.
“If you turn your back on one, then you turn back on all and THAT is the ultimate sin- to disgrace God's people.
It's poetry in motion, changing mood from poignant to angry to lusty to passionate to angsty to frustration and eventually acceptance. The story flowed so smoothly and flawlessly I didn't even find time to put it down. Engrossing completely, I was totally submerged. Pick up this book when it releases and just enjoy the beautiful journey !

WOW!! Brittany Cherry has done it yet again! Every book of Brittany Cherry’s that I read leaves me breathless. She evokes such emotions in her writing that it always takes me a few days to recover from her books. I don’t know why, maybe because of personal things going on in my life, but this book spoke straight to my heart and soul. I found myself highlighting sentence after sentence, quote after quote, because I felt everything the characters were saying and feeling.
“Sometimes, the hardest thing in the world is to love someone who broke your heart.”
Disgrace is one of the best reads of 2018 for me. It had everything I love in a book- angst, chemistry, heart break, strength, and SO much more. I will not give anything of this story away as everyone should experience it with no spoilers. Disgrace is the story of Grace and Jackson – both are experiencing personal heartache that is overwhelming and at times they unsure of how to deal with it or stand up to it. At first meeting Grace and Jackson are like oil and water- they just are to different souls, to scorned by their past, and almost unwilling not to see past the gossip of rumor of who one another is. As the story unfolds, the walls that Grace and Jackson have around them start to come down. Little do they know that with each interaction they are starting to become better/ stronger versions of themselves with the help of one another. I think of my favorite themes of this book was the self-discovery aspect. Finding out who you truly are, then knowing and accepting who you truly are is an amazing feat. It is for sure one journey I am personally taking myself. I could go on and on for days about how fantastic and wonderful this book was but I feel it would not do it justice. I could not recommend this book enough- please read it. It will open your heart, set your soul going, and make you think about things in your own life. This is by far a 5++++ star book for me. Thank you Brittany for another amazing read- one that I know I will be rereading plenty of times!!

My emotions are all over the place. Brittainy Cherry does it again with her new release, Disgrace. The theme of this book is healing & it could not have been put to paper any more beautifully. Grace has been waiting...waiting to be the perfect daughter, waiting to be perfect mother, waiting to be the perfect teacher, waiting for her husband to love her again. With her marriage failing, her life in shambles & her identity lost, she returns to her hometown of Chester, Georgia; a small town where the smiles are fake & the condolences shallow. Disappointed when she finds herself vilified by the very people that she thought would support her, she finds an unlikely friendship with Jackson Emery, the town’s bad seed. And what starts out as a mutual friendship between two people that just want to forget, blossoms into something more. The moral of this story is don’t judge a book by its cover. You may find your faith restored in the most unlikely of places. And what may appear to be good & true can actually be your poison when the scales are removed from your eyes. I loved every moment of this book. Having gone through some of the tragedies that Grace experienced, my heart just broke for her. But still, I loved watching the transformation of all the characters, especially Grace. I loved that moment, that pivotal moment, when she finally found her voice. My favorite line of this book was “That was one of my favorite discoveries. I didn’t have to be a perfect Christian in order to exist in the world.” That line just spoke to my core. God loves you where you’re at & not for how you see yourself, but how He sees you. This is definitely a must read, but prepare to have a serious book hangover. This is also free on Kindle Unlimited. Be blessed today!

RATING: 5 ‘Always and always’ Hearts!! <3
Disgrace is a paragon of romance reads, setting apart Brittainy C. Cherry’s tales from that of others in the genre with its depth of emotional intimacy—every word a cathartic amalgam of heartache, love, passion and joy as our protagonists triumph through life’s tribulations.
"Sometimes, all a person needed was another to listen to their uneven heartbeats."
Grace is a character of tragic beauty, a woman struggling to find herself as life deals her blow after unexpected blow, devastated by the realization that the majority of her scars are from those she thought would love her unconditionally. Though she emanates pain in visceral waves, there is an inherent strength to her as she finally lives a life of her choosing, standing up to not just her cheating husband but her spiteful mother and the narrow-minded townspeople. What makes this tale so personally heart-wrenching is Grace’s demons, the palpable tension and suffocating fear of panic and anxiety an impeccable replica of reality bringing tears to our eyes as we are overwhelmed by the sheer debilitating force of her involuntary response. She is a woman who has our hearts from the beginning, and we read on with the searing hope that Jackson will strip the void in her life of its darkness and fill it with light.
“Gracelyn Mae?”
“Yes?”
“I’m really glad you exist.”
“Jackson?”
“Yes?”
“I like the way your heart beats.”
Jackson is the sort of hero that at first glance would seem like an unfit match for Grace, yet his somber and no-nonsense personality is heartwarming as it is exactly what Grace needs to see a different aspect to life. There is a stunning subtlety to his love and affection for Grace that makes their relationship indefinable in a way, yet exquisitely omnipotent—each moment exchanged deliciously passionate but also gentle and reverent of their shared connection.
"It was simple, the way we loved. We loved the scars of our past, and we loved the unknown of our future. We loved the mistakes. We loved the celebrations. We loved our darkness, and we loved the light."
Overall, Disgrace is a story that contains a torrent of emotional conflict between its pages, one that handles personal anguish in a delicate way and imparts on us incredibly insightful wisdoms about the power of expressing love, its ability to change lives, of the beauty of being a misfit and the art of finding and being your best self.

Brittainy C. Cherry proved again that words have power. This story was so beautiful and moving! Two very different worlds met on the pages but they were still able to find the common harmony, and my heart was filled with an amazing story once again.
After 15 years marriage, Grace Harris returns home to her little birth town in Georgia with pain and loneliness in her heart. In the gossipy little town as a pastor’s daughter and one of the descendant of the richest family of the town, she always had the expectation of behave perfectly, to speak perfectly, to just being perfect. But if someone is broken into little pieces, maintaining the semblance of perfection is not an easy task, and it doesn’t seem important anymore.
Jackson Emery and his alcoholic father are the outcasts of Chester. From the outside Jackson is the typical bad boy, who doesn’t go to church, who avoids everyone in town and who just wants to everyone leave him alone. The first encounter between Jackson and Grace doesn’t go too smoothly either, but strangely the place where Grace is able to start putting back together the shattered pieces of her life is beside the black sheep of Chester.
The contrast that the author was able to create with only the personality of the characters was absolutely amazing. They came from two very different worlds. Black and white, disgrace and grace. But as the story progressed, the Author slowly revealed from layer to layer how Grace had a little rebellion in her, and how Jackson also had a vulnerable side. I can’t say enough times that Brittainy C. Cherry’s writing style is incredibly beautiful, and it’s no coincidence that she is one of my top favorite authors.
Overall, this was a particularly beautiful story that touched some very heartbreaking topics. There were several times when I couldn’t stop my tears, but at the same time, this story brought smile on my face many times. I recommend it with all my heart!

Brittainy C. Cherry's books are ones I always look forward to reading. Her romances are filled with broken and flawed characters who are struggling in life. Their journeys are far from easy, but she always shows what love can do, and for that, we as readers know that hope is always at the end of her stories. The town of Chester and the characters are the epitome of what readers love about her stories.
Chester is filled to the brim with small minded, gossiping citizens. The town itself becomes a character who influences the lives of Jackson and Grace. They are who have caused him to grow into the man he is, the beast of the town, and they are who push her into his arms. Although these two characters are likable, their individual journey is what I found to be the most intriguing of all. Through each other, these two become who they were always meant to be, happy and whole as individuals rather than being a part of co-dependent on another.
What ultimately drew me to this story is the themes the author develops. Through the couple of Grace and Jackson, readers see the importance of knowing yourself. Grace evolves from a woman who only really considers others wants versus her own, resulting in a woman who has no idea who she is or what she wants in her life. Jackson is a man trapped by his past, tied to this town he abhors, and brimming with hate for everyone around him. Through their relationship, these two learn to become who they want to be because they never worry about pleasing the other. They evolve from a pair helping each other forget, to friends who support each, and finally to a love that they put above all others. Together, they learn to look at a person on the inside before making assumptions, to be independent, and to support each other in the most unassuming ways. With these two, the author exemplifies that love isn't about the fairy-tale romance, but that love is about choosing that person every day, it is about loving the flaws as much as the perfections, making Disgrace the epitome of a real world romance.
I am so in love with this story and their journey, and even Grace and Jackson as people and as a couple, but this one lacked that spark that her novels usually contain for me. There truly isn't anything I can say I didn't like or would have liked to be written differently. So for me, this a without a doubt, its me rating, and I would still wholeheartedly recommend this book for the themes and eloquent prose alone.

Intense! Reading this book was like riding a rollercoaster, what a workout! This book is beautiful, complicated, deeply emotional and very moving. There are so many layers, many interpretations you can take from this book. It was a little heavy on emotions at times, but this is the kind of book I like, when the characters start broken and evolve, find forgiveness or redemption, then start fixing the cracks in their hearts.
Grace’s marriage to Finn broke under the pressure of too many miscarriages and their inability to unite under the grief. They drifted apart and the sale of their house broke the final tether that united them. She goes back home for the summer, reluctant to face the gossip mill of a little town, and worse, her mother. There are so many things to discuss about, like the idiosyncrasies of a southern small town that is dominated by a church, where the preacher and his family are like the town royalty. The preacher’s wife is like the queen of the town, epitomizing elegance, perfect behavior, the organizer of many charitable events, and a hypocrite in her soul. The charity, empathy, desire to see the good in others, desire to help those less fortunate is absent in this woman. The children of the preacher, dubbed PK (preacher’s kid), are expected to have perfect manners, above approach behavior, dress elegantly and decorously. Grace and her sister are under their mother’s thumb, who is a gracious socialite, but in the house is a controlling harridan. The father is kind but clueless about his wife’s machinations. She’s his rock, handles the church many activities and he relies on her, blindly.
Jackson is broken since he was a little boy. His mother left him and his father to run away with another man. His father succumbed under the grief and took to the bottle. Now dubbed Crazy Mike, he’s the town drunk, mocked, laughed at, abused by kids, abhorred by polite society. Nobody ever lifted a hand to help him or Jackson at their hour of grief. Jackson succumbed to drugs and his uncle came to town to help him rise above the wreckage of their life. Now they work in an auto shop and deal with Crazy Mike.
Grace broke when she learned that her husband cheated on her with her best friend and got her pregnant. Autumn gave Finn what she tried many times and failed at, a baby. Grace and Jackson met under the worst of circumstances but incredibly, they connected in their loneliness and despair. They gave each other hope and possibilities. Grace only felt complete when she was with Jackson, and Jackson learned to smile, laugh and joke with Grace. It was a summer of redemption and lust, and they filled each other’s voids of loneliness, support and hopelessness. And also great sex! They surged like a couple and it was grand to read about.
Everyone evolved in this book, there are a lot of surprises, and a feel good about the turns that life takes. Some characters had hidden depths that were only discovered when life turned everything upside down. I was enthralled by this book and it many nuances of emotions. It even made me cry many times, because it’s just so beautifully emotional. Not a beach read, but a great read for a rainy day.

4.5 stars....
After reading Disgrace by Brittainy Cherry my heart is bruised but is on the mend! Wow! Stories like this are the reason I read. The stories that take hold of my heart and do not let go. From the very first words my heart was shredded and completely invested. Brittiany definetly knows how to write broken people....
The "perfect" preacher's daughter and the infamous town "monster"....Gracelyn Harris and Jackson Emery were heartbreakingly lost and devastatingly broken individuals. Two extremely unlikely people who came together and ultimately heal one another. Their individual stories literally ripped my heart out. I cried quite a few times. This book shows us not to judge a book by it's cover. To always look deeper at a person. You will be amazed at what you may see. So many wonderful messages throughout.... Self discovery, healing, and second chances.
"When my Prince Charming is the rest of the world's beast."
In small towns, everyone knows everyone. People gossip, rumors fly from one person to another in an instant. Growing up there can be a blessing and a curse...
Just ask Grace & Jackson how it is!
After Grace's marriage fell apart, she returns home to her small town distraught and vulnerable. Eghhh, she is quickly on everyone's tongue. Grace came home to seek comfort, but what she got was a whole lot more... When she has a run in with the town's monster Jackson, his harsh personality has her believing what the town's people say about him. She soon learns, no one has ever bothered to see what's inside this broken bad boy. Jackson's story is soul crushing. I ached for him. His childhood has left him bitter and jaded. He's a loner, who doesn't need anyone. Especially not the hot mess town's princess Grace, but some how they form some sort of friendship that eventually turns physical... In between the sheets, they begin to heal each other. Little by little all their broken pieces start falling into place. To their dismay, not everyone is happy about their union. As they discover each other, they dicover themselves as well...
I loved Jackson & Gracelyn so much. They made me feel everything! I adored how they transformed and cared for one another. Over coming whatever came their way.
This was one thoroughly emotional ride that I will never forget and Jackson Gracelyn will forever be in my heart.

POWERFUL MOMENTS
Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster!!
We first meet Jackson when he is 10 years old. His mother is leaving his father and he is trying to figure out why. When his mother left, she asked him one thing “Take care of your father”. And that is what Jackson did. For years, he took care of this father, through the bad times and the worst times. Living in a small town, Jackson was seen as the “troubled” kid. The kid from the wrong side of the track. But no one got to see the real Jackson. That is until Grace shows back up in town.
Grace is from the same town as Jackson but has been gone for years. Grace has been married to Finn for the last 15 years. She has been though a lot in those year, a lot more than most women could handle. But after 15 years of marriage, Finn has decided he wants someone else. (and who he choses will make you mad!)
When Grace crashes back into town for the summer, Jackson is there to catch her, even if he doesn’t want to in the beginning. Jackson isn’t nice. He’s rude and mean to Grace. Why? Because of her last name. Because of who her parents are.
Your heart will break for Grace when you learn her story. Your heart will break for Jackson when you see what he has lived with for almost his entire life. Your heart will break for both of them when the town starts talking. You know small towns, everyone talks.
Jackson and Grace are opposites but they work. They balance each other out. Grace brings Jackson peace and Jackson makes Grace find herself for the first time.
Towards the end of this books, connections will start being made. You will start to understand different things that happened during the book and why those things happened. But those connections will also test Jackson and Grace. It will make them rethink what they have together. Is it just a summer fling or is it something real? If it is real love, can it survive the test it is about to be given?
This book will make you cry, laugh, cry some more, and then it will make you think about your life and re-evaluate how you are living your life.
Brittainy C. Cherry wrote an amazing novel. This book will give you the feels. It will touch your core and it will make you a better person.

Overall Opinion: This was a touching read about two broken souls finding love in an unexpected place. I loved their connection. I loved the unlikelihood of their pairing and that they worked so well despite it all. I think the H, Jackson, made the story for me tbh! I didn't really like the h, because I wanted her to be stronger -- but I did understand what Ms. Cherry was doing with her character, and I understood that this aspect of her character (that I perceived as weakness) was part of how she was lost and needed help finding her own way. I just personally have little tolerance to this kind of h. BUT! I felt their connection to each other regardless of my feelings for the h. I also didn't like that I had unanswered questions in the end and that there was no epilogue. Otherwise, an enjoyable read!
**Please see goodreads.com/NMmomof4 for my full review with spoilers tags **
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Grace and Jackson's story. Grace's marriage is majorly falling apart, and she returns to her small town home for the summer. She literally crashes into Jackson one day, and though she hadn't never met him, she knows of him as the small town's "bad seed" and his drunk father. They have a few unpleasant run-ins, but Jackson provides unexpected comfort in Grace's time of need. They end up forming an unlikely friendship that then turns into a summer fling. Eventually they start to heal one another's hurts and fall in love. There is some major town and family drama, some baggage they have to work through, a few sexy times...and they get a HEA ending.
POV: This alternated between Grace and Jackson's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well.
Instalove: No, they go from hate to friends to f-buddy to love.
H rating: 4.5 stars. Jackson. I really liked him. He could be a jerk, yes -- but he made the book for me! He was just damaged and behaved the way he learned was most effective for himself.
h rating: 2.5 stars. Grace. I appreciated how she cared for others and was genuinely good, but I really struggled with how she let people treat her.
Sadness level: Low/moderate. I shed a few tears, but I never needed any tissues.
Push/Pull: Yes
Heat level: Okay. They have some okay tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not very many scenes and not all that descriptive. I personally would've liked more chemistry sexually here. I get that it was more about the escape that sex brought them, but I think showing more of a connection through their intimate times would've been nice too.
Descriptive sex: Yes
OW/OM drama: Yes
Sex scene with OW or OM: No
Cheating: Yes
Separation: Yes
Closure: This had good closure with what I would (reluctantly) call a HEA ending. I still had some unanswered questions though...AND where was my beloved epilogue?!

5* Favorite!
Disgrace is a beautiful, heartbreaking love story. I loved it. I finished it in record time!
I loved that the book was written in dual POVs.
Grace is a lovable character, she went through a lot. She had a handsome husband, Finn. They were together for 15 years, she thought she found her happily ever after. But after 15 years Finn left her. He betrayed her. First she wanted him back because she loved him so much, but later she found out who Finn really is. It was hard for her. She didn't know who she was. Grace's character was so well-written, I could imagine how she felt. I felt the love, the dissapointment, the sadness and helplessness too. She felt lost, she didn't know who she was. Then she met Jackson...
While Grace was the good girl, the pastor's daughter, Jackson was the black sheep. He had a rough childhood, he lost his mother, and his father was an alcoholic. He cared about him, and worked in his father garage as a mechanic. For the outside world he was a monster. But he was more. He was as sad and lost, as Grace.
They found each other, first it was supposed to be a fling, it was just sex and lust between them, but later everything changed.
I loved how they opened up for each other. They started to develope a friendship. They were perfect for each other, because they undersood the other. I loved to read how their relationship developed. While they found each other, they found themselves too.
But this story not just about falling in love with the right person, it was about finding ourselves, and it was about family too. I loved how Jackson cared about his father despite the fact that it seemed he didn't deserve it. But he was Jackson's father after all, I could understood Jackson. Or the relationship between Grace and her mother was interesting, Grace's mother was so cold to Grace, but finally we could understood her too.
I loved this story. Brittainy C. Cherry never dissapoints me. This book became favorite!

Brittainy C. Cherry is an author that knows how to write books full of soul and Disgrace is a sweet, emotional love story! This book is a must read because it overpasses a couple falling in love. It’s a story about family, friendship and second chances and mostly about healing and forgiveness.
Grace sees her life crumbling when her husband of fifteen years leaves her for another woman. Not only she is forced to go back to her hometown where gossip is thriving but also she has to face every day things that make her feel worthless.
Jackson is the black sheep of his town. Having a messed up life and the rejection of his community gets him angrier and angrier so he doesn’t have a place for a crying woman.
These two might appear as opposites but they are so similar in their hearts. They are lonely, heartbroken and too damaged. When they agree for a summer fling neither expects to fall in love.
Grace is a woman that in the beginning doesn’t know her true self so it was nice seeing discovering her wants and likes. She is kind, caring and has dignity that makes her admirable. Jackson is a man that will break you a little. He is abrupt, gruff but his attitude is understandable. When everyone treats you badly you don’t have another choice but doing the same thing. He is really sweet despite his hot and cold behavior.
I loved how much they support each other through the easy things and the hard ones. They are truly connected and know what each other needs. All the drama comes from outer sources but between them there is respect and understanding.
This author writes flawlessly and lyrically. Every word is chosen wisely so it can bring out the best of this world.
I am addicted to perfect endings so I would have loved seeing a little miracle happening but nonetheless Brittainy gave this couple a happily ever after full of possibilities.

Angsty poignant story of second chances in life!
I rarely use the word angsty to describe a book but this was the ultimate angsty story!
This book will take hold of your heart and won’t release it until the end!!
There’s a reason for the title!!
Prepare yourself for an intriguing read that takes the reader through a painful and emotional journey of a moment in life that change the course of 2 families.
There were parts of this story that were so raw and emotional I had to pause.
From the beginning of the book you begin to learn the painful past that shaped the main characters in this story. There were elements of the story that were predictable as well, but the character Jackson was so unique and the meaning of his words so profound, it made the story stand on its own.
This is the story of Grace and Jackson. Their journey is s painful one as each has been shaped by pain, disappointment and betrayal. They’re polar opposites, unlikely of ever meeting or even interacting. Met they did, and their chemistry was powerful and thought provoking. Their connection was supposed to be only temporary and superficial, but the result was anything but.
The plot is exciting and easy to follow as they face the ugliness of life in their home town and the betrayals they both have encountered. The characters were well developed and relatable although I had a hard time liking Grace in the beginning as I wanted her to smack her on the head so she would get her head out of her ass.
Hence, that’s the beauty of this story. The characters are not always likable from the get, they’re real. We’ve met people like them.
They’re diamonds in the rough who’ve been shaped by their upbringing and their town’s perspective.
Their story is messy and ugly, and there are parts of the story that are just plain painful to read.
This is an insightful story with so many messages for the reader.
What those messages are you’ll have to read and find out!

WOW! Brittainy C. Cherry did it again. What a wonderful book! This author knows a direct way to my heart. Her words are so perfect. It's like music to my soul.
This is a story to get lost in.
I cried. I laughed. I cursed. I prayed. My heart broke and ached at times but got put back together eventually, though the cracks will stay there as a reminder of this touching tale of two broken souls finding themselves and helping one another to heal.
I don’t think I’ve ever read a book where I got this raging mad on behalf of the characters as I did with this story. I was so mad that tears welled up in my eyes. Oh my, totally not the emotions I expected but I’m sure everyone who reads the book will understand exactly what I’m talking about.
But there was so much more than just anger because I felt all their pain, loss, helplessness but also their love and passion. The characters went through a very tough part of their lives where they felt lost and didn't know how to be themselves and I was captured by the intensity of everything. There was so much prejudice, gossip, misjudging and hurting in this story but also a lot of positive energy and all those feelings were felt very strongly.
I wouldn't compare this book to the author’s other ones because it's mostly not as overwhelming and the blurb isn’t something that I haven't read before but in no way does this mean that the story wasn’t unique because it still felt like an emotional rollercoaster. And what made this book so special is the way it’s written. It's a very beautiful and touching story about two broken and lost souls helping each other to find themselves. Absolutely amazing and a definite must read, but so are all of her books.
Be warned. The hero is broken and a massive jerk for quite a while but you will love him even more when you get to know him! Let your heart be broken and be moved by the characters on their journey.

DISGRACE is a sweet but sexy standalone that will DEFINITELY have you wondering about small towns everywhere!
Grace is a school teacher, returning to her hometown for the summer a broken and lost woman. Her husband (Finn) of fifteen years has been estranged from her for months and also living in their little town. He's found comfort in another woman and now Grace must come to terms with her failed marriage. Meanwhile, the town's bad boy, Jackson has reluctantly caught her eye. But there's a lot more to Jackson than anyone has ever given him credit for.
There's several different subplots woven into this wonderful saga of enlightenment. The biggest one, is the journey of self discovery that both Jackson and Grace surrender to. These two characters GREW so much! It was amazing to watch their transformation and maturation from beginning to end. That was probably what I loved best about this book. But there's also themes of infidelity, forgiveness, anger, gossip, judgement, self-esteem, faith and most of all...LOVE. Love for yourself and love for your family and friends. It was a veritable rollercoaster with a lot of ups and downs! I loved all of that however, the middle kind of sagged and fell flat for me. I can't quite pinpoint why, it just didn't seem to GEL with me!
Grace and Jackson are complete opposites. They were raised in the same town but come from totally different worlds. Jackson was a complex man, a dichotomy of emotions and contradictions. He was so very angry but he was also kind. Alpha yet vulnerable. Loving but closed off. Grace was just emotionally destroyed. Her confidence was utterly obliterated but I admired her ability to find purpose and the strength she needed to stand up for herself.
Overall, this is a touching, heartwarming, stirring tale. If you enjoy the angsty, enemies to lovers trope then this is a good story for you! Told from dual POVs with a happy ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Another beautiful, emotional, & heartbreaking book from Brittainy Cherry. Each and every book I have read by her has been nothing but perfect. She has a way of hooking me from the beginning to the end. I knew from just the blurb that this would be an emotional read and it sure was.
With just reading the prologue I knew that I would be taken on an emotional rollercoaster. It was everything I was hoping for and more.
Grace and Finn have been together for 15 years and have gone through so much together. Finn decides that he no longer wants to be with Grace but with someone else. Grace is completely heartbroken and decides to head back home and spend the summer with her sister and try to figure out what will happen next.
As Grace makes it back to her hometown her car breaks down and this is where the first encounter with Jackson takes place. We first get introduced to Jackson in the prologue when he’s 10 years old and his mother is walking out the door because she no longer loves his father. Their first encounter was anything but good. Jackson and his father are hated by everyone in town. This encounter doesn’t scare Grace away. She immediately sees a different side to him and without a doubt Jackson comes to her rescue a few times throughout the book.
Within time, Jackson becomes one of the only people that Grace can depend on. She finally feels like she can be the person she has always longed to be and little by little we start to see some changes in Grace. Jackson brings out the best in her. Will two broken people find the happiness they deserve? Or the better question is, will Grace be able to walk away after the summer?
I highly recommend Disgrace. I promise you that you will not be disappointed.

I remember falling in love with Brittainy Cherry's writing when I read The Air He Breathes. When though the story starts with devastation from the beginning, it was refreshing to see an author start a love story from the ashes of devastation. I found that Brittainy used some similar elements in this story and The Air He Breathes, but I'm not going to dock her for that because the story is still a good one and she knows how to write it.
Gracelyn "Grace" Harris has been dumped by her husband, Finn, after 15 years. Having loved and lost myself, I could totally identify with Grace after her devastating lose. She has very low self-esteem, has lost herself, and has no support from her parents nor best friend. She finds herself back in her small hometown of Chester, Georgia spending the summer with her sister, July, and her husband, Hank. Even though she was the small town sweetheart in her former years, this doesn't help her from having an occasional panic attack and getting help from an unlikely source.
Jackson Emery is better known around town as a monster, but the title isn't genuinely earned. His family are the shunned outsiders of town and he is treated as such and he wears the facade of a monster to hide the loneliness inside. He begrudgingly assists Grace through a panic attack, but he soon experiences an instant chemistry to her. These two broken souls gravitate towards each other, but the nosy people of the town are trying to figure out why the "town's sweetheart" is spending so much time with the "town's monster".
I loved Brittainy Cherry's writing of Grace and Jackson's story and I am a fan for life. I fell in love with the Uncle Alex, July, and Hank as supporting characters to Grace and Jackson because they definitely needed support. I cannot wait to see what Brittainy has for her audience in the future.

I might have waited too long to write this review for Disgrace to give it the emotion that it deserves. This story and this author, the emotional heartbreaker that is Brittainy C. Cherry had me from the start. This is such a very well written story of loss, heartbreak, betrayal, insecurities, strength, finding oneself and starting over. If I had read from a paperback, my tears would have stained the pages.
Grace Harris which is her maiden name, because I want to forget the man she is married to. Grace's life has so much emotional damage that I don't even know how this woman stands. The loss of so many angels that were never able to see the light of day took such a toll on her marriage and self-esteem. Having been betrayed by those close to her, she finds comfort in a man that is not exactly liked around her small town. From being the town princess to now the talk of the town, returning home hits harder than she had expected. Will she be able to keep her head up and be the perfect preacher's daughter that her mom expects her to be or will she lose her mind and the only man that makes her feel sane?
Jackson Emery will mix with your emotions, his wall that was created by this small town that he was born in had me not liking his tough, cocky and womanizer attitude, it threw me off. That's until I felt the lost and broken soul of a man that didn't know that one woman can show him a love like no other. Jackson will make your knees feel weak and your heart feel full.
Disgrace touches so many emotions and it's a story that I would recommend over and over again. The characters in this story with either pull at your heartstrings or have you pulling your hair out.

Disgrace was so worth the wait, what a beautiful story.
This is the story of Grace. Her husband has left her for another and after 15 years of being together, Grace doesn’t know who she is, where she fits into the world and has also moved back to her hometown.
When Grace has a run in with Jackson, it’s not the best first meet. Jackson hates her on sight, he knows exactly who she is and who her family is. Jackson would be described as the town's monster, he is the bad boy that no one gives their time to but Grace see’s the pain and hurt behind Jackson's eyes and that gives them something they never thought they’d have in common.
My emotions were all over the place, one minute I was smiling, the next I wanted to jump into the book and punch the townsfolk. When a book can bring that out that many feelings in me, I know I’m on to a winner.
Grace’s backstory broke my heart, how she can be that strong after being constantly knocked down is beyond me and the same goes for Jackson. The more you read about these two, the more you fall in love with the book. Grace reminds you to never judge a book, it’s the inside that matters.
There is a part of the book that struck a chord with me. Grace says ‘It was the kind of book that made your chest ache, and even though you want to put it down to take a breath, you’d rather flip the page to know more than worry about such a small thing like breathing.’ And is exactly how I would describe Disgrace.
It’s a story that will stay with me for a long time. Brittainy’s writing was spectacular, the story flowed, she captured the personality of each individual brilliantly and I honestly loved every word I read.

Grace and her husband are going through a rough patch. He took a job in their hometown without even consulting her, and on top of that, in the time they stayed away, he cheated on her with another woman. Now she's going to spend the summer with her family while her new apartment in Atlanta is not ready. But being back to that small town, where everyone knows everything about each other's lives, and having to keep the disaster of their marriage off the gossip groups to not tarnish the image of the pastor's perfect daughter will not be easy at all.
And as soon as she arrives, her car loses the brake and she is saved by Jackson – the City monster. When he was little, his mother abandoned him and his father. After that, they both ended up losing themselves, suffering from having a broken heart. Everyone in town has always treated him and his father badly, so now he treats everyone exactly as they expect him to be: dry and rude.
Two Broken hearts. Two lost souls who, in a chance of fate, end up meeting.
This story is so complex that it is even complicated to talk about it without giving spoilers. Grace is a girl who suffers but struggles to find herself. Already Jackson has everything I love most in a literary good guy: a complicated past and a gift more yet. Several times I felt like getting in the book and giving this boy a hug. Oh, my people.
"He almost smiled, and I almost loved it."
My heart melted for these two, for all they've been through. But because it was a book by Linda BC Cherry, I was hoping that I would feel everything and a little more. Even halfway through the book I was thinking it was going to be a five-star reading, but the closer I got to the end, the more I was finding the same. On each page I read the same pains, the same revelations, the same forced drama, and that was disappointing.
Disgrace is that book that many will love and many will hate. But I, as a good fan, will stand on the fence. It's not bad, but I know very well that BC Cherry can do better. So I was just disappointed, unfortunately:/

A touching page turner that leaves you at times in a tear jerking and mind numbing feeling to yet unexpected triumph. Gracelyn Mae is having a tragic moment, after fifteen years her husband Finley has walked away from her and she's devastated. She moves back home to Chester, Georgia the small town she grew up in for the summer and wonders how will survive the gossip that people are saying about her and why her marriage collapsed. The introduction of Jackson is is real and heartbreaking at the same time. Jackson has alot of anger in him and rightful so, the town see's him and his alcoholic father as the outcast and so Gracelyn Mae whose family are the high society type and a troubled by her new friendship and relationship of Jackson. Can I say Gracelyn Mae mother is the worst mother I believe I have read about in quite some time. Instead of encouraging her daughter about the fall of her marriage she criticizes her and its heart wrenching to read. With the mother being such a villain it was wonderful to see Grace's friend from childhood Josie help along the way back to the road of recovery and Grace's sister Judy who allows Grace to move in with her and her husband Hank. These ladies helped Grace overcome some intense moments. Ms. Cherry's has written yet another page turner with angst frustration anger sadness and triumph. Shas not only done it again with believable characters but realistic issues that begs the question after devastating betrayal do you lose all hope or you fight through to recover and the answer is you do. Was giving an arc by the author.

Disgrace is a book full of love, faith and hope! You don’t want to miss this story which is now one of my top favorites of this year!

5+ “Always and always“-Stars
What a powerful, emotionally stunning story! Gah, you guys! With every book Brittainy C. Cherry releases I think “that’s it, there’s no way she’ll ever be topping that” – but every time she prove me wrong. Every time she puts me through the emotional wringer, has me devastated and sobbing – and crying for joy and happiness. DISGRACE way true perfection. There is not one single thing I didn’t like – well, a couple of characters aside, ugh!
Jackson and Grace though… they both have truly beautiful souls, although Jackson is hiding his pretty well behind his jerky, broody exterior and a wall that just seems impossible to climb. He is hiding so much hurt, is shattered into a million pieces inside, my heart broke for him, over and again. But Grace bears her own share of damage on her soul, her very being, without ever truly knowing who she really is, because satisfying the people surrounding her always came first for her.
Two damaged, broken souls finding each other and helping one another heal – without ever planning on it. It just happens. It’s bone-crushing painful as much as it is the most amazing thing to happen. Their love for one another slowly creeps in and becomes this powerful force – without them truly realizing it. Without them realizing they are one another’s soulmate and simply made of each other…
Grace and Jackson owned me. There’s no other way to describe it than that. I lived and breathed their story. Their story full of so much heartbreak, loss and pain – but also grace, hope and the power of love. A story of self-discovery and healing. Of finding yourself. It runs deep, touches deeply with its countless layers and brutal honesty.
This, by far, is one of the most beautiful and powerful stories I’ve read this year, delivered in Ms. Cherry’s enchanting and colorful writing style. It’s a MUST read!!

Disgrace is another outstanding, emotionally charged and gripping read written by the very talented Brittainy Cherry. She evoked so many feelings and emotions from me. Disgrace is a story of love, healing, sacrifice and courage.
Jackson and Grace's story takes place in a small town in Georgia where everyone knows everyone's business and the rumor mill is very high. Their story reminds me of Beauty and The Beast. On paper, they are completely wrong for each other. Jackson is very dark, angry, broken and has a very damaged past. He's viewed as trash, a loser, the town monster and hated by all. He's not concerned in the least as to what people think of him or how he's perceived. Grace is the beloved town princess and the daughter of a minister. The family reputation and perception to others means everything especially to her mother. Grace is sweet, kind, a people pleaser and amazingly resilient. Something devastating happens to her which is why she returns home and she's struggling big time. During this time, she develops an odd friendship with Jackson. Ms. Cherry did an excellent job with their character development and I adored reading the banter between these two and reading how their relationship grew into such a beautiful and meaningful romance.
Their story more than demonstrates that opposites attract. However, their relationship certainly was not without difficulty and there were some heartbreaking and tearful moments. I loved everything about them from beginning to end. They really and truly deserved each other. Ms. Cherry's words and this story are just brilliant. Disgrace resonated with me as does all of her books. Disgrace is everything and more than five star worthy.

Always and always....
Brittainy has a magic about her. She can take ordinary words and weave them in to a story so full of heartbreak and sadness. So full of hope and redemption. Her talent amazes me. Every time I open one of her books, I tell myself "There is no way she can top her last masterpiece". But she does, every story better than the last. She has a God given talent for stories and she honors her readers by sharing them with us.
Disgrace is the story of Jackson and Gracelyn, it's also a story about so much more than just the two of them. It is truly a story of fate. They had connections that the two of them had no idea of. It was kismet, ture kismet.
There are so many beautiful sayings in this book, so many precious passages. You have to savor this story. It's going to make you cry, repeatedly...but it's also going to make you smile, it will make swoon...Jackson is true romantic, buried deep in his soul. This story is going to give you all the feels. And that is a true testament to the great writing style of Ms. Cherry!
Gracelyn is just as her name is. She is grace, she is beauty and even when she feels like she cannot breathe fully, she finds solace with Jackson and she finally learns who she is.
If you haven't read a book by Ms. Cherry, you are doing yourself a grave disservice. This is a must read of epic proportions. This story will be in the running of my favorite reads of 2018. If I could give this more than "five" stars, I so would!
Thank you Brittainy, thank you for sharing your worlds, your stories and your words with us!

Oh man, I'm still swooning and daydreaming... Such a sweet and heart-wrenching love story.
I really feel honored to receive an ARC from the Ms. Brittainy Cherry. I've read all of her books, and THE AIR HE BREATHES was my favorite... but now, I think I might re-think that thought.
Everybody should read this! I'm not only saying it because I'm a fan, but it's got a whole lotta' moral lessons... This is hands-down, my most highlighted book as far as 2018 goes.
There are parts of each characters that I can relate to... well, except for the substance abuse part. Lol
Sometimes, appearances can be deceitful... It's true that there is always more than meets the eye... and just because people say it is, doesn't mean it really is. And if we constantly care what other people think, then our lives isn't really ours...
I'm just bursting with energy and happiness and inspiration. This book came out at the right time—a time were the news and social media speak of hatred, of bigotry and intolerance... This love-story will teach you about compassion, empathy and acceptance apart from respect and basic human decency.
This isn't your typical love-story, but I assure ya'll it'll definitely pull your heartstrings.
I feel like I'll be giving away the whole gist of the story if I say more... so I'm going to end this before my mouth runs away with me...
This is such a beautiful read, I cant gush enough!
And p.s... how sexy is that cover?? (Sigh)
