Exactly what it says on the cover - highly credentialed scientist after scientist condemning the iconic Mann hockey stick as unscientific trash. I'm a climate skeptic, so I already had that view - but even I'm shocked by how strongly so many credible scientists have expressed their disgust, that such a sloppy, broken unscientific disgrace as Mann's hockey stick ever saw the light of day, let alone achieved notoriety.

Remarkably strait forward compilation of rebuttals to Mann's fraudulent hockey stick graph, the origin of modern day climate change hysteria. No less amazing was the skill exhibited by Steyn as he crafted the message using almost no original writing. A model for other writers, to be sure, weaving a tail of factual ism by simply putting a lot of interesting stuff together. This is to writing what The Golden Coral is to dinner! Enjoy! Someone prepare to perform the Heimlich on Al Gore as the inconvenient truths of this book settle into his craw.

It is amazing that so many people think Michael Mann is the most reliable climate scientist out there! I have a science degree, and the ENTIRE basis of the scientific method is VERY precise! Others must be able to reproduce your work using the same variables!! Real science is real science, and this is just JUNK!!!

Very well written and in the Mark Steyn style with a little sarcastic humor here and there. Informative. Reinforcing for others. The back story of the Hockey Stick and how poorly the research was cobbled together is infuriating. Ergo, A Disgrace to the Profession" phrase by a fellow scientist. It is madness that it got so well accepted. I only wish the over riding concept was more well known instead of the junk science that has been spread by Al Gore and others. Read it.

This is an entertaining read. It's really funny, how Steyn explains Mann's insistence on holding to a hockey stick theory on climate change. Mann does this even though there are so many experts with reservations, and the evidence is abundant debunking Mann's claims. Just the image of a hockey stick provides enough laughs to make the read worthwhile. Purchasing and reading this is a good way to support free speech, also.

Mark Steyn gives us an intriguing look at the world of leading climate scientists through their communications and public statements regarding the notorious "hockey stick" graph of world temperatures as published and defended my Michael E. Mann. Regardless of your views on climate change you should read this book.

Scintillating! Clearly exposes Michael Mann's fact doctoring and relentless bullying of anyone who doesn't bow in his direction. Amazing how many climate professionals have absolutely no use for Mann.

Unlike the hockey stick true believers, Mr.Steyn does research. It's, like, science or something. And, what he has researched is researchers. Real scientists who do real science who think Michael Mann is either a charlatan or a particularly vicious buffoon. Of course Mr.Steyn skewers him as only he can and dares to do. Highly recommended!

Science is increasingly a celebrity sport due to a disgusting money grubbing operation involving politicians, the media, and scientists who are not as much scientists as they are lobbyists. Any book that provides a different voice in the increasing echo chamber of stupidity that holds up children's performers like Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Bill Nigh The Science Guy as great scientists because they have access to the current administrations ear is a good thing. In fact, it's real science unlike this popularity game settled science lunacy. Basically, you're buying a real science book instead of an alarmist money scam book pretending polar bears only living on ice and can't swim because Al Gore told them so.
Another reason to buy this is the fact it funds Steyn who is being sued into the ground for exercising free speech by the racketeers promoting this scam. Something the racketeers involved in this climate changing aka weather is bad lunacy can't have because if you can question stuff you might figure out they're a bunch of liars. You won't just be getting an interesting read but you'll be defending the foundation of democracy that's being eroded away.

I would recommend this book to anyone that would like to learn about people and their manipulation of scientific climate data for self and political gain. Unfortunately, the group people that need to know the true story will never read this book

Very important work. Top scientists, climatologists, and other top leaders in the climate change debate who bring forth evidence of how the NOAA, Dr. Michael Mann (author of the famous hockey stick climate graph) have manipulated climate data to make a false case of global warming.

Unwilling to wait forever while his case languishes, Mr. Steyn repurposes his discovery into a damning fusilade. I have never seen anyone as fully and lavishly owned as is Mann in this volume. I hope I may never piss Mark off.

As someone who has followed the climate change controversy for several years but never really was able to organize the set of events and the set of arguments in my head, this book does a nice job of putting together a line of thought. Michael Mann's Hockey Stick had the effect of saying that there was very little climate change before the start of the industrial revolution. This means there is very little natural variability of the climate.
As part of the original paper, Mann eliminated the well documented Medieval Warm Period. On the face of it, this is obviously wrong. But the IPCC, Al Gore and many leftists ran with it. Now, Steyn has documented many scientists disagreeing with Mann. While Steyn was inspired to do this by Mann's suit against Steyn, Steyn has ended up doing a service to the public in explaining the damage to the scientific process done by Mann.
Also important is that Mann is trying to limit Steyn's freedom of speech through his lawsuit. Steyn is fighting back by publishing this book and perhaps more books on the subject. Mann filed suit to silence Steyn, but that strategy is backfiring on him. Without the suit, I doubt that Steyn would have written this book. Now, Steyn is arguing his side of the case in full view of the public. You can read about his side by buying the book.
I recommend reading this book.

Mark Steyn brilliantly summarized, referenced and cataloged responses of many climatologists - mostly all in academia or governmental institutions - to the infamous fraud by Mann, i.e. their hockey stick presentation of medieval and post year 1800 data on average temperature of the Earth. Today, it is acknowledged by almost all climatologists that Mann's data is a fraud yet it had been rabidly and dogmatically defended by Mann and his cohorts in early 2000-2012 time-frame. I agree with the book title, it is a Disgrace to the Climatology Profession. This type of a fraud is enabled by what I consider is an archaic state of universities tenure system where however fraudulent or idiotic opinions are protected by the tenure and where a political correctness rules. This could have never happened, better said survived, in a private enterprise or institution. These days the climate science is funded by the US and other governments where their inertia of opinions survive way beyond academia, creating a whole new industrial complex of NONSENSE science and regulations! Thank you Mr. Steyn for this book. It should be read by high school or college students to educate them how a hysterical opinion based on a few tree rings data in one location, fraudulently presented by Mann et. al., affects silly politicians and government bureaucrats.

How many of the climate religionists even understand the evidence of AGW? Not many. Those that do are highly skeptical of the methods used in the infamous "hockey stick" papers of the remarkably intellectually dishonest Mr Mann. He should be excluded from future discussions on the topic.

An original idea, well executed by the author: to document what highly credentialed individuals have written about Michael Mann's work (and his character).
I do have a criticism of the Kindle version: the typography is inconsistent regarding the narrative vs. the quotations, which makes it hard to follow what part is Steyn and what is the expert he is quoting. This undermines the very purpose of the book.

This book, although written with a definite agenda, gives a lot of ammunition against the global warming hysteria. It points out the flaws in the methods used to create the famous "hockey stick" graph often quoted in "popular" science. As Mark Steyn is using his research for a court case, it comes at the controversy from one side, but the sources he quotes are from both sides of the debate, and present a cogent argument that Michael Mann and his colleagues are doing poor science.

A very good read. Exposes the cronyism and lying that goes on in the "global warming" hoax. A hundred experts throughout the world give their arguments on why you need not believe all you see in the mainstream media. Michael Mann is exposed time and again and has no counter arguments. He violates the scientific method and lets no one see how he arrived at his conclusions.

This book is a compliation of questions raised by many scientists who do not think that climate change is settled. It is not science if you cannot question it. This book provides great insight into the corruption of science.

Overwhelming evidence of Michael Mann's perfidy; even by many scientists who agree that global warming has validity but despise Mann's manipulation of data (to the extent it is rendered useless) and the peer review process (which has been rendered suspect as a result of his abuse).

Put's to rest the theory that "all scientists" agree. Should be REQUIRED reading for all students that had to watch "Inconvenient Truth" in school, by their misguided teachers. This book is the inconvenient TRUTH. While an easy read, the needed backgrounds of the quoted scientists can get a little tedious.

With this book, that's exactly what Steyn has done after being sued for millions by "climate scientist" Michael E Mann for expressing a negative opinion of Mann's global warming "hockey stick" graph. Turns out the experts agree with Steyn in quote after quote after quote. What a comprehensive takedown of Mann and his "science" by the scientific community.

This is an excellent summary those not in agreement with the constant lie we hear regarding man made climate change. I especially like the quotes and references useful when discussing climate change with others. Few if anyone deny that climates change; the issue is whether the introduction of carbon dioxide causes temperatures to rise. The overwhelming answer is NO backed up by some very clear facts.

Powerful book, well researched.
It is so sad to confirm that science has been politicized to this extent.
Many scientists no longer the search for truth, but rather search for government grant money.

Great book.
By lining up scientist after scientist ... and expert after expert ... Mr. Steyn presents his case well. I enjoyed reading the perspectives of Nobel Prize winners, climate scientists and others.
This book received 4 out of 5 stars because of the rather hyperbolic nature of the title (could have been left for the quote that it was), and the Editor's rather dramatic writing style, which did little more to add to the already well-presented material.
In addition to this book I would recommend "Climate Change: The Facts" edited by Alan Moran. Together, they will present an excellent collection of viewpoints in the "AGW" (Anthropogenic Global Warming) debates. The science certainly is not settled (nor should it ever be).

Factual, immensely entertaining book by an experienced and outspoken critic and wordsmith, Mark Steyn. He includes statements from scientists and others on both sides of the argument, and promises to present Book #2 on the same subject soon. I'll be waiting.

This is an excellent book that tells the truth about so-called climate change. I laud Mark for having the courage to stand up to the religion of environmentalism, and insist on a truly scientific approach.

I purchased the Kindle version on April 8, 2016, and was astonished how much the scientific community has objected to Mann's Hockey Stick and related topics, and how this has maliciously been suppressed. An excellent book!

One reviewer notes that this book presents "a flavour" of the contentiousness of Mann's 'hockey stick.' Not so. You get an overwhelming amount of brief detail of the opinions of many scientists who disagree with the whole concept, not "a flavour." The whole case by Steyn is backed by extensive references, so one cannot claim any unsupported case against the veracity of the 'hockey stick.' However, the repetitiveness of the argument could easily be summed up in one much shorter article. To simply state that a list of 100+ real scientists have found Mann's work to be both unprofessional and untruthful would convey the whole argument.
So in that respect, I would say my last sentence says it all. No need to really buy the book--in my opinion.

Great book. My. Steyn goes into great detail about stuff that ought to be intuitive - that we are being lied to on a regular basis by those who have skin in the fire but are supposed to be objective. Good job, Mark.

Mark Steyn's dismemberment of Michael Mann and the IPCC is an amazing feat. He simply crushes the opposition. He takes Mann's hockey stick and uses it to deliver a slap shot to the forehead of the hapless Mann. Hooray for Steyn!

If you read this, you will KNOW that "the science is [not] settled" or, if it is, it is settled that the blade of the hockey stick does not bend very far at all, so it is like a '59 Chevy: "straight stick".

Great that he could find 110 "real scientists" who "on the record" said what they really think about THE HOCKEY STICK.
