Definitely one of the better books out there on statistics, particularly for individuals that might otherwise be intimidated by the subject. Walks through examples of the various tests and figures of statistics using easy to understand examples. Not the typical dry textbook on statistics.

This is a terrible statistics textbook that contains few concrete definitions and even fewer worthwhile explanations. The author's colloquial tone is as annoying as it is confusing. There are far better introductory textbooks that will provide you clear definitions of difficult concepts in a less juvenile way. If you're buying this as a reference for yourself or to help you better learn introductory statistics, opt instead for a more traditional textbook and you will be better served by doing so.

I have eight stats books in my bookshelf, from Dummy's Guides to college textbooks. Salkind's text presented the material, seemingly directed toward graduate students, in the most clear and easy to understand manner of all I've read. It was actually enjoyable to read. I don't think you'll be disappointed with this one.

Do not download the E-book. The pictures are blurry and can not be zoomed into. I tried to read it on my iPad, iPhone, Kindle, and E-cloud reader. Buy the psychical book if interested. I downloaded for a class and my teacher had to send me pictures of the data and instructions till my psychical booked arrived. Other than that the book is very helpful and very simple to fallow along with.

Book was delivered promptly. The material is very helpful in helping a (not so good at math) student understand what they are learning. Teaches in depth with examples for written assignments and excel assignments. I wish there were an answer key to some of the practice problems though. Other wise, loved it!

If you're afraid of that upcoming Statistics course that you have to take to complete your major, get this book. If you're lucky, your professor will make this the required textbook. If not, get the book anyway because it will explain statistics to you in terms that make it easy to understand. At the very least, the Excel functions and explanations will make your homework less tedious and, who knows, you might just surprise yourself with how fast you catch on to the concepts.

The author, Neil Salkind, clearly enjoys his subject and enjoys teaching. His sense of humor is clearly apparent as you read his explanation of some of the reasons we use statistics.

I highly recommend this book!

Although I do not like statistics, I had to order this book for my class. The book is actually very easy to read and understand. I had no trouble receiving this book. I received it on time and it was in perfect condition as I had ordered it new.

I took away the one star because I still absolutely hate statistics. But on that note, if you're forced to take a statistics class pray (if that's your thing) that your teacher puts this book on the curriculum! It's easy to read, helpful, and way better than the text for my undergrad stats class. If I'm going to have a stats book, I'm very content with it being this one.

This book is written on a very simple level, which can occasionally be annoying as a student who enjoys statistics, but is overall a good, thorough book. DO NOT buy this book if you want to learn all the math behind statistics, as that is not what the author is aiming to teach.
