The book itself is great I love Chuck Palahniuk he is an amazing author. The book I bought has writing in it and it didn't tell me that when I bought it, but I cant really complain seeing as I bought it for $0.69

Wow, was the first Chuck Palahniuk novel I have read and I can't wait to pick up the next. This book will change your life , it gives such a different perspective on beauty, life and leaving the past behind. It's a bit out there but it will keep you entertained from page one. Great book , great writing.

After having knocked out all of his novels, I can safely say that Invisible Monsters is my favorite of Palahniuk so far. I never thought a book so campy and ludicrous would resonate so well with me, but behold, it's one that I'm going to be reading over and over again for years to come.
It's shocking, it's satirical, it's campy, it's glossy, it's outrageous, it's insightful, it's jaw-dropping, and it's wonderful. Do yourself a favor and read this book; chances are you'll be glad you did.

This is my first (and last) read by Chuck Palahniuk. No doubt the man is cuttingly clever and can turn a phrase with the best of them, but i find his characters in this work to be cliche - almost absurd. When did it become fashionable in literature to trade sickness for substance? I am bored with authors whose characters are little more than the sum of their flaws. The story was peppered with brilliant observations, but for me that didn't make up for the fact that it was little more than a vehicle to haul around a soulless cast of characters.

This is my first Chuck Palahniuk book, and I love it. It's crazy. Like, all over the damn place crazy. May be a bit hard to read for some, but that's the fun of it in my opinion. Sort of like a labyrinth. Excellent story. Great book.

Really enjoyed this story and how slowly Palahniuk gives information away. Choppy style was a little difficult to understand at times, so it took me longer to finish than expected. End has me satisfied though

After I watched Fight Club, I read the book. After I read the book, I read Invisible Monsters. Both are favorites, but, perhaps, because I have a slight familiarity of Palahniuk's style, I found all of the plot twists in this story unsurprising, some even predictable. Because of that I gave this book four stars instead of five.
The characters in the story are all vivid and believable. The setting work is pleasantly minimalistic unless the particular moment in the plot warrants otherwise. The plot itself is somehow meandering but also driven. If I were to give it one more adjective, it'd be "gritty".

You know how you ride this really insane roller coaster ride and when it’s over, you’re wondering what just happened, but you’re thinking you need to ride again to try to figure it out?! That’s what this book is! Chuck Palahniuk is brilliant!!

I am a fan of Chuck Palahniuk, through and through. He easily holds the title of "Favorite Author" in my books (haha!). This story is one that he is best known for, and for good reason. It's an absolutely riveting tale that holds you hostage until the very end, but you don't really mind the fact that you're exhibiting classic Stockholm Syndrome since the story is one that twists and turns and leaves you satisfied. One thing that I have always loved about Chuck's novels is that they are inventive and imaginative, but perhaps best of all is the fact that he incorporates tidbits of real world knowledge within his writing. It's like reading a fact book with an incredible story line. Highly recommend!

Typical Palahniuk. This is the third book of his I've read and my least favorite so far. The inner monologue becomes a bit overwhelming but the plot twists and explicit imagery make up for the lack of a real story. I wouldn't recommend this book to the squeamish but then again I don't think the squeamish read Palahniuk.

This is the first Chuck Palahniuk book I've read, and now I'm hooked. I must read all other writings of his. I am extremely ADHD, and so books are usually very difficult for me to stay focused on. Invisible Monsters however kept my attention the whole way through. There is not one boring page through the entire book!!!

Fight Club and Damned were brilliant, and a breath of fresh air, but sadly Invisible Monsters shows Palahniuk to be something of a "one-trick pony," re-hashing many of the same themes and ideas in much the same way.

Really strange story, but interesting. Reallllly strange. This is the author who wrote "Fight Club", so I knew it would be different. What I didn't like most wasn't the story, or even how it was written. The story jumps all around in time with flashbacks, but the author tells you this and does it so you can totally follow the story.
What really bothered me was Chuck Palahniuk's affectation: "Brandy Alexander, she was the beauty everyone wanted to be." "The pink boa, it was caked with mud." Just write, "The boa was caked with mud" ! Just write, "Brandy Alexander was the beauty..." He did this with almost every sentence and it got annoying.
The story though, it was craaaaazy, but cool-ish!

Granted, the first pages of the novel are hard to read (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). But if you can hang on, you will be in for a hell of a ride, and at some point you wish you could read faster so all the secrets would be revealed at once.
Palahniuk at its best
