Great end to this series. Turns out Morwenna isn't a widow after all.
The conflict in this story is not between the hero and heroine. It is between the hero and the trauma he is returning from. I liked that. Something that serious does not need the usual miscommunication or other tricks romance stories use to generate conflict between a couple. I was glad his brother is so understanding, patient, and generous. I was glad his wife seems to know just what he needs at various moments of crisis. You know everything isn't perfect and won't be, at least for a long time, but you know their love for each other will get them through it.
I did notice a couple of loose ends. The big one was Garson--he genuinely cared for Morwenna. He leaves the betrothal party and never enters the story again. The other was all the children being out at the estate while their parents were in London. None of the cousins make an appearance when Robert and Morwenna get there.
Well written and edited.

I expected this novella to be great. Campbell is the author of one of my favourite HR novella and she is a proficient writer. Moreover, the theme of this novella is right up my alley - second chance/reunion etc.
But I'm with reviewer Sandy Milan on this one. This novella doesn't deliver sufficiently - for me - at an emotional level. It's not that bad that I will stop buying Campbell releases, but it is disappointing to have to report that I found this to be flat, more than a little implausible and even irritating.
I notice, however, that other reviewers found it wonderful and moving - so each to her own.

During the announcement of her engagement to Lord Garson, the Widow Nash's brother-in-law's speech is interrupted with a shout of "No" coming from an emaciated and unkempt man. Her husband Robert Nash had returned after being lost at sea and listed as dead for five years. The story of their finding their way back to each other is full of emotions, pain and undying love. I only wish the author had given more details as this was a very good Novella and great characters and plot. Looking forward to the next book.

For five long years she believed her ships captain husband to have died at sea. On the evening of her engagement party to another man, in walks a thin, terrible looking man, the man of her dreams. You'll love the way the author tells the story of this couple putting their lives back together after his absence. An excellent book!

Not earth-shaking, but okay. I finished reading it, but debated it and ended up skipping the repetitive sex scenes. The PTSD could have been given more play and there could have been more drama and less doubt of the relationship. There really wasn't much to this. There were a plethora of phrases instead of sentences, something that tends to annoy me.
