I enjoyed this, the story was a little fast paced but also slow. Books where everything is a misunderstanding because characters cannot verbalize are getting a little dull so if you can handle the frustration than I recommend it.

The story was kind of dull. There was no surprises in story and really if everyone just told the truth then the story wouldn't have happened, but unfortunately for the reader everyone lied so the story continued.

Overall I enjoyed reading this book. The only portioned I didn't care for were the many temper tantrums thrown by the main characters. There were a few too many for my taste, and I got a bit bored with them. But, I am glad I read it - however I won't take on any others in the series.

At the young age of twenty, Miss Phoebe Blake has grown up a lot over the past year. A year spent in mourning for a father who left her & her mother in the poorhouse. A year in which Phoebe has had to assume many responsibilities – managing the household, managing the finance (as little as they are) & being a mother to her own mother. A mother who has fallen into a deep melancholy since the death of a husband who had affairs & gambled; a mother who, on most days, has to be force fed. Down to 1 servant & having sold as much of the furniture & household belongings as she can Phoebe decides to re-enter society & try to find a rich husband. Phoebe knows that love will not be a part of the husband hunt…she can’t afford to wait to fall in love. Or so she thinks. Her first ball of her re-entry has her dancing several dances but the most memorable part of the night is the introduction to Benjamin Wetherby, Earl of Glastonbury & future Marquisate of Eastleigh, cousin of her best friend.
Benjamin Wetherby, Earl of Glastonbury, has been summoned back to England from New York where he has taken refuge to try & escape his guilt. His guilt – causing the death of Lord Grimbsy in a duel, an older gentleman who was caught cheating Benjamin’s brother at cards, a gentleman with a wife & daughter. Now in London after visiting his father who is on his death bed, Benjamin is tasked with finding a wife on the request of his dying father who wants to see Benjamin settled before the dies. His first ball since his return has him catching notice of a lovely friend of his cousin’s. Wrangling an introduction then a dance Benjamin sets his course on wooing the beautiful Miss Phoebe Blake.
Benjamin sets out to court Phoebe & subsequently learns she is the daughter of the man he killed. Will Benjamin’s conscience allow him to continue his courtship? When he finds out she thinks her father died of a fever but is unware of how the fever came about will he tell her his part in his father’s death? When he finds out the condition the death of her father has left the family & the devil’s bargain her mother was forced to make to keep them from the poorhouse will it compound his guilt?
When Phoebe set out to find a husband she never dreamed she’d fall in love. And definitely never fall in love in 6 short days. But she has definitely fallen for Benjamin. When he is called back to his family home due to the imminent death of his father Phoebe accepts his proposal & accompanies him home – falling in love with his family as well.
As the each settle into their new roles will the past come between them? A spiteful ex-mistress, Benjamin’s part in her father’s death, her mother’s devil deal, the truth behind her father’s death all play heavily on how they react & what they will do to make their marriage work.
Jerrica Knight-Catania writes a touching tale of a gentleman’s honor & how his guilt effects his decisions. Of the strength of a young woman forced to grow up due to circumstances beyond her control. And about how the 2 of these forge a relationship.

I loved this book immensely. Funny, sweet full of angst, then why just four stars you ask? Well, I wanted some male jealousy. I wanted Ben to be overcome with jealousy over a suitor for Phoebe. otherwise a simply delightful book.

I enjoy this author. Tried one of her Kindle books because of her name! My daughter teaches and had a student named Jerika. I have bought the rest of the books she has on Kindle and will watch for more. The story content is reather predictable but that's okay. A quick, easy, read.

I love this book. The story was sweet and enjoyable. Not too much drama but a deep secret that will put a tweet in the story that will keep you guessing until the real truth (not what the hero thought happened ) is revealed.

I liked this story, Benjamin & Phoebe were very NICE people. By nice I mean very caring and both of them had great character. This story flowed easily along, no dragging out to fill in just to make the story longer. Jerrica Knight-Catania knows how to make her characters come alive.

Loved the story...the friendship between Kat and ms.blake...love able characters...wished there was something more on Becky...or whether she consented to stay it's them or not....wished the story just went on ...until ms.blake delivered her own baby...

The Wetherby Brides, Book 1 is a wonderful story. I couldn't put it down. You always think the man is the hero but in this story the lady is just as much the hero as he is. A wonderful, wonderful book. Highly recommend!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. All kinds of devotion and love are shown in this book and you never quite know what is coming next. I read them out of order, but suggest to read them in order so you don't know what is going to happen in the other books.

After stumbling through several books worthy of yawns, this book was a pleasure. Not overlong, no problems that seem to linger too long, and contained very likeable characters. I will read more novels by this authoress.

The characters were delightful! I enjoyed the story line as well. The book was well written with alot of details that made me feel like I was along for the ride. Good fun, but it had a predictable ending that left me hanging.

I thought the story was good, but the characters lacked depth and development, especially Benjamin. I didn't really feel his love for Phoebe and the falling in love part was too easy. Didn't see any change in the characters.
