Sadie is the receptionist at McKay-Taggart and the niece of Sean and Grace Taggart from Lexi Blake’s Masters and Mercanaries series. When she goes to help a friend, she ends up in a life and death situation and is rescued by Chase but because of what happened while she was being held she is now being targeted by the man who was holding her hostage.

From the moment Sadie ran into his arms after she escaped he knew that she would be his but she has a lot of healing to do. Things happened in that room that she hasn’t been able to talk about as she fears that he will look at her differently. He is able to breach the walls she has built around herself but her captor is not finished with her yet.

For a novella this story is packed with suspense and action. The characters are well developed, their chemistry is hot and it was great to catch up with the previous characters for both series.

I love Susan Stoker stories! The only issue I had was the mix up with the fact that Chase was a higher rank than Ghost. In "Rescuing Rayne" Ghost out ranked Chase. I feel like an editor should have caught that mistake.

Good story. Safety: There is talk of pedophiles and rape. The villain hurt the h's breasts. Other than the breast part, the other is not descriptive.

Ever since Sadie Jennings, Sean Taggart’s niece, was introduced in the Masters and Mercenaries series, I wanted Lexi Blake to give readers Sadie’s story. Sadie is such a sassy and spunky woman, and I knew that whoever she gave her heart to would be in for a rude awakening since Sadie is such an independent woman who, at times, can be a bit too impulsive for her own good.

So, when I saw that Sadie’s story was going to be told, and it was part of Lexi Blake’s crossover collection, I immediately signed up for an ARC, even though I wasn’t familiar with Susan Stoker’s writing. I thought it would be awesome to get a character’s story I really wanted and also be introduced to a new writer, and while I will say that Susan Stoker’s writing is exactly the kind of writing I enjoy, because I had no background of her Delta Force Heroes’ series, I felt like I only got part of the story because when Rescuing Sadie begins, parts of what’s happened to Sadie have already occurred, and now, the characters are dealing with the fallout of her choices and what that means for not only Sadie but for the hero, Chase Jackson, as well, because it’s his Delta Force world that Sadie’s story occurs.

Sadie and Chase’s story had the suspense, intrigue, and character chemistry that I love to read about, but I couldn’t feel the full effect of all of those characteristics because I felt like I was immersed into the storyline in the middle of things and because the action was already occurring or had already occurred, there weren’t many details offered that would allow me to be on the same page as readers who are familiar with Stoker’s series, so I just couldn’t catch on to everything that was happening in a way that allowed me to fully understand the entire story line.

I will say, though, that readers who are familiar with both series or probably just the Delta Force Heroes’ series would definitely enjoy Sadie and Chase’s book and not feel like they’ve been placed between the end of the rising action/climax of the story line, which would make a big difference to the understanding of everything that had already occurred before the book began.

After helping to bring down a child slavery ring, Sadie Jennings finds herself being stalked by one of the perpetrators.  She’s used to being protected and around alpha males as the niece of Sean Taggart, but she doesn’t quite how to take being saddled with the devastatingly handsome  Captain Chase Jackson for weeks on end as others search for the threat, especially when he treats her like a roommate rather than an attractive woman.

Chase Jackson knew Sadie was special from the moment he helped rescue her at the child slavery bust.  When he finds out that the threat to her still exists, he immediately volunteers as her bodyguard. He’s made a promise to her uncles that he will keep her safe, but as the threat catches up with them it’s going to take every skill he has to keep that promise, even with the help of a Delta Force team at his back.  He also has to convince her that she’s much more than just a roommate to him, she is his.

While part of the Lexi Blake Crossover Collection, fans of Susan Stoker will note that Rescuing Sadie picks up right where Justice for Milena ended.  Milena’s threat is gone, but Sadie’s is just getting started. If you have not read, Justice for Milena, this book can still be read and enjoyed, but it is definitely enhanced for those who have the back story.

I love that Sadie Jennings is no wilting wallflower.  She’s smart and tough, but she’s also willing to admit when she needs protecting.  Chase Jackson is a battle hardened soldier. He has seen enough to understand just how evil and real the treat tracking Sadie is.  While he is alpha, he is also very understanding of her needs and doesn’t just lock her away to keep her safe.

I loved that we got to visit with our favorite Delta Force heroes in this book as well as the precocious little Annie, who is always a favorite of mine when she pops up throughout Susan’s stories.  Susan also drops one heck of an Easter Egg in this book for fans that will have an aha moment that drops your jaw and fighting back tears!

Rescuing Sadie is action packed from start to finish.  It’s also an incredible romance between Chase and Sadie.  Both have baggage they are dragging along with them that only one another can ease and fix.  Susan did a phenomenal job of bringing her world together with Lexi’s. 5 stars!

This novella definitely packs a punch!

It had all the goodness I’ve come to expect from the author all wrapped up in a nice little bundle: sassy and strong women, hot Alpha AF males and a nice little touch of cray cray that even surprised me, but kept me turning the pages until the very end.

I adored Chase and Sadie, I did. Chase is all kinds of Alpha AF male: Protective, honest and honorable. I loved how upfront he was with Sadie, even when she doubted him, and never wavered once. Sadie is one tough woman. She’s sassy, independent and yet knows when to accept help when it’s offered. What she went through would have broken most people, and while it has left its mark on her, she’s picked herself up and is working through it. Their journey to their HEA was a fun one. It is slow burn that is filled with a lot of sexual tension (that once it broke it was all kinds of hotness!), but considering the situation they found themselves in it totally worked. I enjoyed watching them open up to each other and found one of their disagreements to be quite interesting, and loved where they were at in the end.

This really was a fun read and it can be read as a standalone even though it is tied to the events that happen in Justice for Milena. The author does a great job at getting you caught up with that situation so you can understand Sadie’s role in it. But I must admit that part of my enjoyment of this book was that it was set in the Delta Force Heroes world and getting to hang out with some of the characters from it was a lot of fun. DFH was my introduction to the author and is my favorite of her series.

So, if you’re looking for a fun, quick read with great characters then this is a must read!

A Lexi Blake crossover featuring some of our favorite people from Susan Stoker AND Lexi Blake's books! Rescuing Sadie has ALL THE FEELS, ALL THE HIGH OCTANE SUSPENSE, AND ALL MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS AND ONE SENSATIONAL, HEART-SWOOPING STORY!

I KNEW the moment I found out about this crossover it was going to be something I NEEDED to read...and I. Was. Right. All my favorite Delta Force characters are here along with some of my ALL time favorite Masters & Mercenaries characters too. In this heart-thumping story, things pick up pretty much where things left off for Sadie and Chase from Justice For Milena. But I think things get a bit more heated in a very sensual and most delightful way all while things increase from the danger to Sadie, Chase, the Delta heroes with some of our Masters & Mercenaries heroes come together with a force that I swore made my knees weak and my heart melt, made my stomach swoop and dive and made me want to see EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM together MORE in the future. Susan Stoker brings her signature touch with Rescuing Sadie but with some of our crossover heroes thrown in the mix, there was even sexier and action-packed flair that was ALLURING as ALL GET OUT. This is one INSANELY GOOD READ...like drop what your reading and pick up Rescuing Sadie TODAY and dive into an adventure that will have you scrambling for more.

Rescuing Sadie gets a SUPERB FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

Rescuing Sadie is a novella in the Delta Force Heroes series. It is also a Lexi Blake Crossover. It can be read as a standalone and that is how I read it. This was my first Susan Stoker book and I am sure it won’t be my last.

Sadie is in danger. Chase wants to protect her. They have been living together for the last month. She wants him. He is hot and cold with her. He has wanted her since the day he saw her but the need to protect her is his first priority. He can not let her get hurt. They haven’t known each other that long but he knows she will be in his future. But first...he needs to protect her from her past.

I enjoyed this book very much. It has so much action for a novella. It also has heart, heat, and laughs. I definitely need to check out both Susan’s and Lexi’s series’.

Quotes:

“Tell me what happened inside that room, Sparky,” he ordered gently.

“If one hair on her head is hurt, he’s gonna wish he’d never f- with a Taggart.”

“Don’t hide from me, Sparky. Don’t ever hide from me. You’re beautiful.”

Chase and Sadie’s romance kicked off my Crossover Collection review and I liked the idea of the M&M crew blending into a whole bunch of different ‘verses in Romancelandia. I also loved that it started with a shot of Little Tag aka Sean Taggart, one of my OG Masters & Mercenaries faves.

I’ve never read Ms. Stoker before, so in the beginning there was alot of information that needed to be relayed to the reader. It felt like too much telling vs showing, particularly in the beginning. Once it settled into Chase and Sadie’s scenes, I ended up enjoying it more, though their chemistry, at least for me, suffered as a result of this disconnect with their backstory. Frankly, I was still a bit lost, not knowing the Delta Force guys and I’m sure I missed some things that a longtime Stoker fan wouldn’t. All in all, I think if you’re a fan of both Ms. Stoker and Ms. Blake’s books, you’ll be in the best position to love this.

Rescuing Sadie (Delta Force Heroes #7.5) by Susan Stoke & Lexi Blake

M/F Romance
Triggers: Pedophile ring, stalking, attempted murder
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This is a fast paced book that is absolutely gripping. Sadie is running from breaking open a giant pedophile ring - she has a stalker, Jonathan, who was helping to head the ring. He is a sick man who only wishes to create children to abuse.

Chase is a delta force hero, but in his mind, due to some past incidents, he is not feeling very hero like. Despite his reservations of talking about that incident, he feels comfortable with Sadie and reveals all to her.

These two have a chemistry that is undeniable. Chase has to bide his time and show Sadie that he really and truly means what he says. Sadie has to allow herself to be loved and show her vulnerable side.

I really enjoyed this story and am so excited that these cross overs are happening!

I love everything Susan Stoker writes and Rescuing Sadie was no different. Susan packed plenty of action, suspense and alpha male goodness into this read without it feeling rushed. I couldn't put it down!

This was an amazing addition to the Delta Force Masters and Mercenaries world with McKay Taggert security family member needed protection from an obsessed madman who was bent on capturing Sadie and make her his after she escaped from him. Chase Sean's friend who was a captain in the army was willing to take her to his Delta Force friends that would help him protect her in San Antonio instead of Dallas. Sadie worked as a receptionist for her uncle at the security company so she agreed to go. From the moment he met Sadie he felt the chemistry between them and the need to protect her at all costs. He got the military to give him the time off to be her bodyguard because the madman, Jonathan had stolen military arms and they wanted him captured as well. This was an exciting suspenseful romance as Sadie and Chase fall in love as they try to evade his advances to capture Sadie and he almost gets killed in the process. He tackles Jonathan as he was trying to take her and she hits him with a tire iron and then her Sean finished him off. It was action packed and in the end she takes care of Chase nursing him back to health. They get their happily ever after and Chase comes to the realization how important women are in the heat of battle. This was an amazing book and I cannot wait to read other books in the Masters and Mercenaries world.

Love Susan Stoker and I love the Delta Force Heroes series! I was excited to see that this would be part of the Lexi Blake crossover a series! I loved the story and it is definitely better if you have read Justice for Milena because it is a direct spinoff from what was happening there. I simply can’t say enough good things about the hero, Chase Jackson. He is protective, sweet, loving, caring, badass and of course sexy! He assigns himself to protect Sadie after meeting her when everything went down at Bexar with Milena. Sadie is badass In her own right but is now in danger because of it. Love their story! Susan is a go-to for me for romantic suspense!

This books includes the characters from The Delta Force Series and it was just as good. Sadie needed protection and Chase was going to be the one who would provide it. It was hot and the chemistry between Sadie and Chase was the off the charts. Between the bad guy and Sadie and Chase, things become explosive. Will they survive?
Such a great read, so hard to put down! Great read and collection.

Rescuing Sadie, is another awesome
book by Susan Stoker.
It is a steamy, funny, & emotional story.
Chase & Sadie's connection is undeniable.
They met when he rescued her from the girl's home. Sadie had been held captive by a psycho pedophile, & now he wants her back. Chase has vowed to protect Sadie, no matter what.
I loved catching up with some of
the guys we love, & their women.
And, no book would be complete,
without Annie! ❤
Hold on, there's lots of twists, & turns.
I enjoyed this so much, I could not put
it down.
A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE!!!

This book is a novella to be read after Milena . Sadie is an amazing young lady mature and so strong. This was a well written ending to the evil that was introduced in Milena. You could probably read this as a standalone but is a stronger story of read after Milena. I love this author and this book does not disappoint!!

Sadie is a brave young woman who helped her friend which leads to her being threatened. Chase has really fallen for her and wants to protect her. This is one of the best books. The villain in this one is simply terrifying. This subject is very real and heartbreaking. Lots of action and awesome characters. Stoker does not disappoint. EVER!!!!

Susan Stoker has outdone herself with this novella in the Lexi Blake crossover. Chase and Sadie have intense off the chart chemistry and is so hot even though they haven't kissed. It is nice to catch up with all the characters from McKay-Taggart. Annie is absolutely adorable as always. Loved this book.
