Ms. Turner is an excellent writer and she can make you lose yourself in her characters. Bradyn MacTavish is a hulk of a man with a sweet spot for Payton. I loved these characters and their awkwardness and how they complimented one another greatly. MacTavish is a man that suffered insecurities and a harsh tragedy in his youth that makes him tongue tied around women that he is attracted to, like literally. He can't speak around them! Payton is a classic case of geekdom at it's finest, but she is very lovable and sweet, and even sassy around her friends, whom she is devoted to. I loved how MacTavish coaxes Payton out of her shell since she fears men and takes his time with her and their journey on being comfortable with one another. Their love story is something of beauty to be enjoyed by all who loves a bit of a different love story. Plus, Payton's eclectic group of friends makes things all the more interesting. :)

"The Red Scot" was quite a comedown after the intensity of "Winter's Beast." Payton was beaten and almost raped by the "big man on campus" during her freshman year of college, and was saved by three girls who would become her lifelong friends. Fast forward twelve years, and the friendships are still solid, but Payton is still traumatized and afraid of large men. Enter "The Red Scot," Bradyn MacTavish, giant of a man, three time MMA world champion who takes one look at Payton and decides she's the girl for him! The three friends are on board with schemes to bring the two together. Mia is a HOOT!!! great story!

I absolutely loved this nook. Brayden and Patton were such cute couple. Their awkwardness is what made them so cute. The first kiss had me laughing. It was so funny. They had such great chemistry and Brayden really dod cherish Payton. He was crazy about him and vice versa. Tjey helped each other deal with their padt5 issues. I loved how Brayden handled his Coffee Bean. He was so patient with her. He was her Gentle Giant. Anyway, I cant wait to read the next story in this series. The Besties are hilarious, especially Mia! Great story! Great job, Twyla Turner!

This novel is a welcome addition to my Twyla Turner book collection because it is a little different but a whole lotta good. Payton is a curvy girl who has lost faith in all men and questions motives constantly after a bad experience in college but Bradyn, an MMA fighter, wants to show her that he is not like that. I must say that the way Braydn pursued her at the gym was the cutest part of this story. I love this new book because there is a mystery in it as well with a twist you won't see coming. The love scenes were very well written and I thoroughly enjoyed this novel.

Payton and Brayden were too cute and both had very likeable personalities. Payton being a nerdy black girl was awesome. For some reason most people don't believe we exist...many thanks to the author for giving us so an amazing voice. This story had everything I laughed I cried I was upset and even had to fan myself a couple of times. As always Ms. Twyla gave me so much life. I wonder will the other 3 friends get their own books one day. *fingers crossed *

The Red Scot is the beginning of my second series from this author. Yes, some of the typos and phrasing are problematic, but the story was so good. I got over these with the first book I read from Ms. Turner. He's a mega dreamboat and you can't help but feel for poor Payton. He's huge and gentle, she's curvy and aloof. How can two people in such opposition ever make a connection? To let one experience shape your life so profoundly is something that is truly heartbreaking. But these two broken people are able to find a common language, one that practically everyone speaks it. That is, if you're lucky enough to find it. Turns out, they aren't so broken after all.

I thought this was a romance novel. The first 100 pages is annoying. I stopped at page 108. This main chick is still traumatized by an almost sexual assault she had in college. The main chick is having all of these hang ups and emotional issues when a good dude is trying to strike up a conversation with her. It’s a hard read. A bunch of conversations with her girlfriends was also annoying. I’m so over it.

Loved this book. You have to be patient with the heroine. She went through a traumatic incident in her early 20's and it affected her into her 30's. Her character will get on your nerves just a "wee" bit, but you will fall in love with her by the end of the book. The chemistry between the two is very satisfying and I cannot wait until we hear more of them in the second book.

Truly enjoyed this book. It definitely was an eye opening change on how the story begun but it definitely kept my attention. I loved the bond that was formed after that horrible night freshman year. Every woman was hilariously entertaining in their own way. I saw a little bit of myself in each of them. Bradyn had it bad for Payton and I loved how patient and protective he was of her. Guess I need to find my way to the gym to get my ginger who likes a size 10 chocolate woman :) Lastly good job on the Brett/ Rhett character I knew that bastard was coming back just not the how hahaha well played Twyla!

The Red Scot is another swoon worthy novel by Twyla Turner. Everything about the story was amazing! I loved the relationship of the main protagonist, Payton, and her group of besties. Each woman brought something unique to the friendship. The group of ladies loved and supported each other. They helped Payton in so many ways, and it was a beautiful thing to witness. Now a few words about the male protagonist Bradyn... he was sexy, sensitive, and attentive! Every woman's dream dude! The passion and chemistry between Payton and Bradyn was scorching! I loved getting lost in this novel!!

This book was awesome. I loved the romance between Brayden and Peyton. Such damaged individuals coming together in such a beautiful way. Brayden is what every man should be. Sexy, gruff, sensitive but manly to the tee. Peyton is the best friend we all wish we knew and had. Their story is beautiful and I couldn't put it down. Read the night away and in the morning got up out of bed tired but darn happy to have read it. I love a good story and this was damn good. Romance, funnies, a little danger and some really hot sex thrown in. The only thing unforgivable is I have to wait for the author to write the rest of the series. So if you're reading this Ms. Turner hurry up. I have to know what's next.

I really enjoyed this love story of Bradyn & Payton. I was very happy when Payton got away from Brett when she was in college & he only got five years in prison for raping all those girls. It is like these teachers sleeping with our kids & some get just probation no jail time. I was happy when Bradyn beat the stuffing out of Brett.

The premise was there and I loved reading about a REAL women instead of size 0 girls. But it actually felt really blah to me. Not a really great in depth read. Just felt drab and not great with true emotions. The 3rd person writing only enhanced this further making the book feel less than what it could. I wanted more feels but this fell too short. Kinda disappointing

I loved this story about Bradyn and Payton. They were both awkward people and had to get past their own fears to start a new friendship. Once Peyton got passed her fears and gave Bradyn a chance things started to fall into place. Her friends are hilarious and I'm glad things worked at how they did at the end. Can't wait for the next book.

This was not your typical alpha male saves the woman story. He was patient. He was kind. The story was beautiful.
I loved her support system of friends. Every woman needs a group of friends that will help her get out of her own way. They laughed together. They cried together . They were honest with each other and most important, they had each others' back regardless. That's hard to find .
I would recommend this book to any avid reader! Happy Reading!

This was such an entertaining and delightful romance, everything about it just captured your attention.I love that we get two people that we can identify with and just adore them from the beginning. This was romance and comedy with a little suspense thrown in for good measure. The situations being discussed in this story are really serious and the writer does an excellent job of the subject. If you want romance and laughter this is definitely the story for you and don't forget to read the next installment.

The book was interesting . The male lead, Red , was everything a romantic character should be with his endearing qualities of shyness, masculinity , and sweet demeanor . However , Payton, the female was so fearful that she seemed more pathetic than sympathetic . She really needed long term therapy instead of a relationship . The ending pulled it altogether but the wait was too long. I enjoyed the extra story highlighting Mia's escapades and look forward to the next book in the series.

This was my first time reading Twyla Turner and it won't be my last. This book was adorably hot! I loved the relationship between Payton and Braydn. The were made for each other and it showed as the story progressed. I loved that he was strong yet gentle with her. I also, loved the female friends and hoe supportive they were of each other. No cattiness. Truly just wanting the best for each other. Loved it and didn't want it to end...which is the sign of a good book!

I really enjoy reading books by this author but this one had me ready to throw my kindle across the room a few times. The main female character, Payton, worked my last nerve!! She went through a traumatic experience during college and was never able to really deal. Fast forward twelve years and you have a woman that is so naive about life that it makes you want to pull your hair out. I couldn't understand why she never sought any type of counseling to help her deal with an incident that obviously had a HUGE impact on her life. She pretty much just counted on her three besties to get her through panic attacks and any other hangs up she had concerning ANY big muscular guys that came into her immediate vicinity. At 29yrs old, her character comes off as being really immature. Geez, no one can possibly be that damn naive. The character being constantly shown as timid drove me insane. I couldn't finish the story, it just didn't work for me. I guess I will have to wait for Mia's story?

Payton and Brydan were such a sweet couple, I really enjoyed the chemistry between the two. I enjoyed the way this storyline moved along kept you wondering what happens next. I liked Payton's friends all unique in their own way, yet lovable. Can't wait to read the next installment, about the other girls.

I really liked this book and would have recommend it if not for the use of God's name in vain. I wish this author didn't use God's name in vain. You don't have to use " GD " to have a great book. It had a great storyline and sexual storylines. I wish this book was a movie and on audible with the accents of the characters.

Bradyn was a true gentleman because he was very patient and tongue tied waiting for Payton to become familiar, with him, to the point it was easy to be around. The author cover a very tough and touchy subject with class. Enjoyed the friendship that was developed with Mia, Kennedy & Royal throughout the book. Mia chronicles was fun. I hope to see additional stories cover in the other ladies in the near future. I totally recommend this book.

Absolutely a fabulous read. Definitely a page turner with its very real issues for women and men. But filled with enough friendship, love and a whole lotta female moxie. Looking for excitement? This book dishes it out hot and heavy like a well made Shepherds Pie! Yum

This story was so cute. Of course, cute happened after the almost tragedy in the prologue. I love that Payton is a sci-first, comic-con loving nerd and Braydn is a tongue-tied, shy, red-headed Scot. They are so cute together and I like how the story builds so that they get to know each other and overcome their awkwardness.
I can't wait to read who is next up in this series. Will it be Mia, Royal, or Kennedy?

What an awesome book. Payton and Bradyn were great and complex characters separately and together. Touchy and scary subjects were perfectly handled. Payton's friends and strength of the women's friendship made this an awesome book. Well done, can't wait for the next one!

I had been getting bored with reading these types of books. They just seem to go straight to the sex part without much story or substance. But this author gave me substance which I found refreshing. This was a great story and the bonus book was great too. I highly recommend this author and look forward to reading more.

I'm cheap and VERY RARELY buy kindle unlimited books. I had to buy this one to reread as many times as I want. In fact, I'm going to reread it right now! The story of Payton and Bradyn is sweet, sexy and funny. The author's use of Scottish brogue added to the allure. Rock on Coffee Bean and Gentle Giant!

I'm still swooning over the gentle giant. Loved this book from start to finish. I loved the interactions with the characters and their choice of colorful language. I literally laughed out loud on my train reading this. It was a really sweet love story where opposites really do attract in the best way possible.

This story was about 2 shy people, both with trauma in their backgrounds, but perfect for each other. Payton was petrified of men, and Brandon, though shy and awkward, pursued her with love and patience. The author did a good job developing both characters, and it was a sweet story overall.

Great characters and interactions. Amazing story with sexy and sweet, funny and serious all mixed together. However, I feel that it could go through a bit of editing. I can't wait to finish Mia's story.

I love the originality and the creativity of Payton. Many readers can relate to her interests and how sometimes it can make a awkward conversation but it's a lesson that we are not all one certain way. Throw in an awkward, hot man and one gets a love story that everyone can relate to.

Payton and Brayden were two of the most awkward characters plagued by social anxieties, etc. but they were also the sweetest H/h ever! The personalities, straight-talk and love of Payton's group of friends had me laughing out loud. A hilarious read and the intimate scenes were FIRE!!!!

Very good book. Highly recommend it. Enjoyed the dialogue between all of the characters. It was great to see a H be a little unsure but still come off as a true alpha male. Loved the heroine's friends and how they always had her back. Looking forward to more books by Ms. Turner

I loved the main story line (literally went Awwww a few times), but found myself quickly flipping pages whenever her friends showed up. They were too much of a distraction and seemed to only be there to add exposition to the novel.
