The Very Best of Charles de Lint

This book of stories was the gateway drug to reading all of Charles de Lint's books. An excellent writer! I'm normally not a fan of urban fantasy, stories, especially spooky ones. But de Lint is a wonderful (as in "full of wonder") storyteller. Well worth getting this one just to try him out.

DeLint is absolutely the master of urban fantasy. The characters are so real and the situations so immediate that you find yourself wishing that it were all true and that you could come upon them anywhere.

The only thing better than a Charles De Lint novel, is a collection of his short stories, and this one does not disappoint. I just love how he writes. He writes female characters extraordinarily well. I wish I could live in Newford!

Really liked connecting with old stories I forgot about and new reads. Charles stories always keep me wanting more. This book is a good way to be introduced to his worlds. Be careful though you won't ever want to leave

I love these short story books Charles writes. When I don't have tie to get involved in a whole book, I can have a little bite of wonder at a moments notice, and all these stories are stellar! Thank you for doing this for your fans!.

And here I thought I had read everything by Charles DeLint. Fabulous stories that were new to me and what a great idea and way to show that you appreciate your readers by allowing them to determine what will be in the book. Must have for C. DeLint fans!

This collection is perfect for both the familiar reader of this Author's work and a magical introduction for the new. Every story written by this wordsmith deserves a second or maybe even a third read. Thank you Mr. de Lint, for keeping my imagination alive & well for these many years!

I was minimally familiar with Charles de Lint when I purchased the book, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. I found the stories engaging and the world the characters inhabited to be fun and engaging.

I just finished reading this for the second time and like the first time, I felt like there must be a mistake, there had to be more! Charles de Lint is that unfortunately rare combination of a wonderful writer and a wonderful story tell. I recommend this book, and all his books.

I love reading Charles de Lint stories and this book is full of them! Most of the stories I am familiar with, but there were a few new stories I discovered. I will undoubtedly pick up this book again and again!

Especially enjoyed the last story. I think we have all gotten to the point of disalusion when we only see the world as grey and black. To then look out from a bridge and watch the sunrise, bringing back the color and magic. Truly amazing and inspirational.

I have read all the stories before and identify with all the characters. Charles de Lint has been a life influence for me. I would recommend his books as inspiration, healing guide, and a trip into another perspective. I obviously think de Lint books are great!
