I had read fantasy novels before, but the novels of Charles DeLint were my first entries into the world of modern day urban fantasy. Moonheart is a revelation. I was so enamored of this story- the characters, the plotting, and the ability to weave fantasy elements into a modern day setting. The characters and Tamson house will stay with you long after you read the last page. A true gem.

A superb compesate of true emotion and the unbelievable beauty of Celtic and Native American mythology. I found it gripping, breath taking and heart wrenching at times. The characters are truly human, and this is what you will find most encaptulating. A very in-depth story that will hold you until the very end!

I thought this book was excellent! It started off kind of slow. But after a while, especially the second half, I couldn't put it down until I finished it. There are a lot of characters to keep track of and some of the expressions that they make are sort of silly but I thought the overall story was interesting and entertaining. This was my first DeLint book, and the first fiction book that I had read in years, and I am glad that I started here. I am looking forward to reading more DeLint books.

My first voyage into fantasy was taken when Moonheart hit the shelves many moons ago. It is a tale of mystery and magick that left me enthralled to the last page then and still does today. Since then I have read everything this amazing author has written; it's great to see it available on kindle.

Moonheart, the first Charles de Lint book I ever read, remains one of my all-time favorites. I've read many de Lint novels since I first picked up Moonheart in 1984, but I always remember it and recommend it to anyone looking for a good modern fantasy. de Lint it simply one of the best modern fabulists writing today.

This work transports the reader into an urban fantasy which is rich with economical descriptions, jam packed with action, and a plot that kept me up all night. I couldn't put it down and absolutely loved it.

Moonheart of course is an incredible book. I have read it many times and have emailed Mr. deLint and told him how wonderful his novels are. And on this page, there was a listing under Reviews I believe from Professional "reviewers", called Ingram. And well they made a mistake and I honestly don't know how someone could make this mistake. It is NOT two young women. It IS a young man and young woman. Keiran is male and Sara is of course, female. I think this should have been corrected before putting on a site such as this.
But the book of course, is amazing. It can draw you into the world of magick and worlds unknown. I recommend it with all my heart.

After setting the book aside, I immediately wanted to construct the divination device mentioned in the book itself, and described in detail in the appendix to the book. Unfortunately, with so little time on my hands these days, I wont be able to do so immediately. Ah well, such is life.

I have been looking for this treasure for years, as I let my original get away, (foolish). I did not even know if it was in print. A wonderfull book, that blends youths, on the paths of life, with the legendary world of faery. Indian shamanism to celtic beliefs, all in an inthralling story. I especially loved the gifting ring, and awe inspiring visits into the past. I am gratefull to have found it again, (as no doubt will be my friends, who have continuously asked for it since,) and will snatch it up.

I really liked this book except the main character. She was annoying, and dumb! I know she was supposed to be contemporary, but does that mean every time she opens her mouth she has to say something inane? The fantasy elements of this book are well done, however, thus the four. (Certainly not up there with Tolkien as some other reviewers have written, IMHO.)

Like many others Moonheart was my first de Lint. I happened upon it in amongst a pile of 2nd hand books and since that day I've been completely and utterly addicted to the writer. The interweaving of fantasy and real life simply draws you in. My 1 1/2 hour train trips to and from work slip by without my noticing as I re read my collection. I search high and low in bookstores for his works and recommend him to anyone who asks me whom is my favourite author. Truly inspiring.

Charles de Lint is one of my favorite authors. His writing is magical and his characters are so deep you'll swear they truly live. I continue to think about the action and characters long after the book is finished and would be very pleased if they went on far longer.
