Wonderful Book. I learned so much. Very brilliant and brave author who has done his homework. He appears to be a very kind and thoughtful person who is willing to look deeply at all sides of an issue. This should be required reading in every secondary school.

Amazing book on how the political elite wants eternal comfort that comes from votes and endless immigration but the people want something completely different. Of course, the people always loose this battle.

A disturbing book, but well written. I would have liked more statistics-I'm that sort of guy. Pointing out Europe's lack of a healthy religion is important. Europe is helpless when confronted with highly motivated religious people who hate what they see in Western Europe. Take a look at the WSJ biweekly magazine to see the decadence oozing out of the adds. Louie XIV would have been scandalized! Westerners are without a moral rudder and Muslims will take advantage of that sad fact.

An absolutely essential book about the European migration crisis. Douglas Murray has produced an elegantly written, insightful and balanced account of this very important event. Reading The Strange Death of Europe is like having a conversation with a warm, witty, erudite and engaging friend. I can't recommend this book too highly.

WOW. THE SCARIEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ. HOW THE ENTIRE WORLD CAN COMMIT SUICIDE BY WAY OF A MISGUIDED PHILOSOPHY (OR IDEOLOGY) -- SOMETHING HAPPENING AS I TYPE THIS -- SHOWS THAT IT CAN HAPPEN HERE. NO HORROR NOVEL COULD PRODUCE IN ME SUCH FEELINGS OF ANGST.

Thought provoking and well laid out. Found myself highlighting many things to reference during conversations about this politically hot topic. Thought the author did a fantastic job of keeping on point. Finished the book with a much more open mind and general understanding of this problem. While Europe and North America have very different problem in this regard, it's easy to see lots of parallels.

Theorizes that Europe has lost faith, religious and in its culture. Has guilt over wars and colonialism. It is therefore willing to let massive third world, mainly Muslim immigration overwhelming their population. The disparity it birth rates means Europeans will be a minority in Europe soon. Their culture is essentially lost.

Thought provoking insight into the reality now pervading Europe and ignored by all European politicians whom with the media’s assistance decry any form of criticism of their unfettered Muslim immigration policy’s and the masses ignorance of what is befalling them there culture heritage way of life shall in two generations be gone. German politicians are complicit in all respects to its inevitable demise.

I loved how clearly ideas are presented throughout the book; although, as others pointed out, the subject of the book is really depressing, it is only through the pain of understanding the phenomenon can one try to recover from its negative outcomes. I do not share many of the author's ideas expressed towards the end of the book, when he talks about what can be done (especially, when it comes to getting back to reassessing our relation to religion - to be able to stand strong against some other religion), however, the book is must read for anyone who is interested in comprehending what the future Europe might be like.

This book was both amazing and terrible to read! What is happening in the UK and Europe should set off all kinds of alarms for all of us in the USA. The citizens in the US have an obligation to read this book so they will understand that the death of democracy will happen unless we bond together to stop it!!!

Murray describes how Europe abandoned its self-regard, how Islamic immigrants are changing Europe, and how its populace and its leaders are reacting and speculates on the not-to-distant future. Americans too should read this book, for America is rapidly losing its self-regard. The oceans will protect us from following precisely in Europe's footsteps, but it is not hard to see that, while the details of the attack on western Civilization here are different, the US is headed in a similar direction.

Great read. Excellent description of how Europe arrived where it is today, and how Western Europe is perilously close now, and will soon be, extinct as we know it. Not so Eastern Europe.

Same tired arguments we hear from the Dems and some GOP. Same failure to examine facts and the arguments in favor of unfettered immigration, and the absolute irreconcilability and lack of assimilation.

Well researched and told, Murray paints a chilling picture that needs to be considered as Americans look into our own future. The questions before us are what about America is worth preserving, how can this be done and are enough of us willing to do this so it this is achieved in a way that itself embodies what we stand for. What’s clear is that these efforts won’t come primarily and, especially at the start, from those in politics and government. Ordinary Americans must step up.

Europe is doomed. You can't import millions of people of incompatible cultures, beliefs, and values and expect your way of life to not be radically changed. I'm afraid it is too late for Europe. Perhaps the US still has a chance. This book is calm and measured. But very depressing.

This won’t be surprising to anyone who keeps up with news from Europe but it’s useful to have it all in one place. The so called leaders of the Western European countries won’t fight for themselves, so why wouldn’t people who believe so strongly in their way of life try to take over? The problem is that many millions of people will die when the inevitable collapse comes. I really don’t think there is any way to stop it either as we’ve passed the tipping point.

Murray describes in great detail and informative style the great demographic issue in Europe today. And it's not easy to swallow. It also offers little optimism for the future. He looks into the reasons for all this including the self hatred of European politicians, their denial of reality around them and the developing reactions of the local population. This is a must read if you want to understand what's going on.

This very thoughtful and readable book takes a data-supported, in depth look at what is happening to the countries and cultures of Europe as the flood of immigrants invades. Murray is unflinching in his portrayal of the perfidy of government officials who ignore or vilify their citizens on the front lines of immigration while the elites hide in their upscale neighborhoods. This book will make you angry: whether or not it makes you take action is up to you.

Murray's well researched and articulated book about the seemingly willful destruction of Europe and European culture ( and western civilization as a whole) as we know is a must read for those with an interest in unfolding current events today. The social chaos and Orwellian culture that is occuring there and in Britain is a template for what is headed this way. Murray's elegant writing style elevates him as heir to the great Christopher Hitchens, one of the great minds and defenders of western liberal values. Read it, then tell your friends about it.

This is an insightful. well-researched and reasonably comprehensive view of the current state of Europe given the influx of refugees advocated by the progressive governments of Europe. It stands as a prophecy of the demise of Europe unless some limits are placed upon the invasion by millions of people from vastly difference cultures.

Well worth reading. This book describes the ongoing loss of the 'European-ness' of European civilization. There are a few hopeful signs in eastern Europe, but for anyone who has heard of the Rotherham child rapes, and of Malmo becoming the rape capital of Europe, it is hardly possible to be anything but pessimistic. A major tragedy of our time, convincingly explained.

This book reveals how and why the European Union decided to open its borders to mass migration over the last thirty years and particularly the last five years. How Europe will change due to the poor integration of many of the migrants as described by Douglas Murray is frightening.I strongly recommend this book for those interested in the current migration crisis in Europe

Disturbing but makes one think - seems well researched and is well documented. I read it having grown up in Europe but having emigrated long before these changes in policy. The discussion affects so many things that we take for granted about western culture, especially its permanence and resilience when threatened by an alien culture.

A comprehensive summary and historical overview of unbelievably misguided and utterly incompetent governments in Europe, that sold out european values and culture to a strange and foreign ideology. A good written story about what came over the Europe an peoples, from which one can derive a reliable expectation about the total destruction of our history when Allah is made o reign, due to lack of attention by the Goer

Best up to date, well researched immigration flood into Europe. Don't miss this book if American wishes to know what lies in store should we follow the same path as Europe. This migration has changed my beloved Europe- Italy, Germany, Holland, Sweden, England beyond belief. For 2000 years Europe has been a bastion of Christianity. It is being overrun- the facts are incontrovertible. When in the past 1300 years did Islam become a religion of peace. I would like to put my finger on the time and place.

I sent it to my friends and family in Germany. . . This book is EYE-OPENING and I couldn't stop reading. Sometimes I had to take a break, smoke a cigarette and let the information sink in. I recommend it to everyone in the US who wants to know what uncontrolled immigration can cause. It's better than any thriller!

Douglas Murray is an expert on the migration crisis in Europe. He has participated in many mainstream debates/lectures on the subject. These can mostly be found on YouTube and I highly recommend them. There is no better person who speaks out against the policy of allowing massive amounts of people (mostly adult men) to illegally enter Europe.

This book is a great overview of the migration crisis in Europe, the history of immigration to Europe with a focus on Britain, and the serious problem of white guilt plaguing so many Europeans.

Though I have followed these events over the years rather superficially in the news, this book by Douglas Murray has proven to be both an eye opener and a page turner. Highly recommendable to everyone interested in the fate of European people, including Americans.

The MOST insightful summary of the rapid and current downward spiral of Europe. MANDATORY for all Americans, because our nation is on the same pathway for the same reasons, and just slightly behind Europe in time. However, we are catching up with Europe quickly. All of Western civilization is in mortal peril.

Very interesting description of events leading to the mass migration of people from the middle east, Africa and Asia.
How the European governments ignored these events and only started taking action when it was too late. Very well written.

A clear, sobering, and ultimately disturbing analysis of the immigration crisis affecting Europe. When a Syrian refugee tells German citizens that their country is changing and if they don’t like it they should leave for another country, you have a crisis. No wonder the natives are restless (as recent elections show so we’ll). Fifty years from now, China will be China, Russia will be Russia, and India will be India, but what will Europe be? We do not know, but Murray lays out the stark facts showing how Europe is struggling and dividing over immigration.

Excellent history and outline of the migration and immigration problems/crisis facing Europe and the UK. A problem that continues to be ignored and kicked down the road by politicians and those without the will to make the hard choices necessary to preserve the integrity and values of each sovereign country that makes up Europe.

Definitely a must read book that seems like a foreboding for what's likely to happen here in the US if this nation follows Europe's trajectory with its immigration policies. Heed the warning signs stated in the book and in the process be informed on one of the most pressing issues of our time.

The best discussion on the subject. Written in his excellent and clear style. Everyone should read this book: in the future they will read it like we read the classics of Rome and Greece.

And above all, don't do what Europe has done.

Excellent analysis of what and why happened with immigration in Europe. Real cautionary tale for the US about the unmitigated disaster which can result from uncontrolled and indiscriminate inflow of immigrants who have no shared values with the host country. Samuel Huntington, RIP, was so right!!!

Douglas Murray painstakingly and accurately records events, public reactions, political actions and media response to the migrant crisis affecting Europe. A situation that is dire and brings with it a sense of doom. Liberals who are living in a dream land of “we can all live together” need to wake up and pay attention.

A succinct, well argued summary not only of the external forces changing Europe at an exponentially increasing rate, but of the internal dynamics of a self-destructive guilt-ridden society which no longer has faith in itself to reproduce or carry on

Mr. Murray's effort to thoroughly explain today's immigration politics in Europe is appreciated. The author brought forward the related foundational concepts- economic, religion, history, philosophy and politics, that have achieved unforeseen consequences in much of Europe due to mass immigration. It is disappointing that public participation in the immigration discussion is chilled at every turn. The EU as a concept for prosperity and security of its members should rightfully be questioned.

A hair-raising book which largely talks about the way politicians have more than ignored the desires of the European people, they have ridiculed and, in some cases, prosecuted them for "hate speech". This is a good part of the theme of why western civilization is "so screwed" if we do not wake up.

An honest account of Europe's sleepwalk off a cultural precipice. Murray's lucid and evenhanded treatment of the immigration issues presently assailing Europe shines a spotlight on a self-obsessed, uncaring and reckless political class. The alarm bells have been sounding off for decades and a book like this is long overdue.

Awesome book, a similar one needs to be written about the immigration problem in the USA. The West has traditionally been so generous with the rest of the world, and because we want to take a moment to step back and see how's it's working, we're called racists, sad.

EXCELLENT READ. Western Europe has behaved like lambs to the slaughter for the last 50 years. As such, I believe a new refugee crisis will be on the horizon with the next few decades.......ethnic Europeans fleeing Western Europe for USA, Canada, and even Eastern Europe.
