Review:Took me a long time to get through the book. Relationships and foreign names were hard to follow. I do like non-fiction books. I
enjoyed the historical importance of it. It was easy to draw similarities in today's world, unfortunately. Read more
Review:The Dressmaker of Khair Khana:
an excellent example of true journalism ; gayle lemmon's account inserts the reader inside of the facts, providing an understanding of events by those who lived through them along with compelling insight into how their 'history' impacted their future. read it Read more
Review:I am stunned, just stunned. This is my first Russian novel and Solzhenitsyn's prose and sarcasm translates so well. At first, the repetitive details seemed odd, but then it hit me, this was the only way to tell this story. This story is about people with real names and real events and Solzhenitsyn gave them a face and told their story, and did so in a manner that the Russians knew was true and could not refute. Review:A highly technical read!! Kudos to the author for all of his supportive issues regarding U-2 flying, since that was a prelude to outer space travel. Review:I am grateful beyond words to Amy SIskind's for her determination to keep a record of this administration and it's continuing threat to our democracy. Seeing the weekly lists all in one place is truly scary. All the ongoing revelation of the lies and obfuscation and inanities. To have it all in one place, wow! Thank you Amy! This is an historical must. Read more

Matar--a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award and Man Booker Prize for the equally wonderful (and no doubt inspired by these events) "In the Country of Men"--writes with a the passion and insistent inquiries ... Review:Excellent. Extremely well-researched, extremely well-written. If you read ONLY ONE book on Joe Stalin, this should be IT. It is no accident that John LeCarre highly praises it --- on the
cover! Montefiore asks ALL of the questions.....and answers MOST of them, too! Amazing. Read more
