I am grateful beyond words to Amy SIskind's for her determination to keep a record of this administration and it's continuing threat to our democracy. Seeing the weekly lists all in one place is truly scary. All the ongoing revelation of the lies and obfuscation and inanities. To have it all in one place, wow! Thank you Amy! This is an historical must.

Thank you, Amy, for being our national chronicler. I wish your job was not necessary. Everyone should read this book and read Amy's ongoing weekly list. Well-researched, well-documented, and reliable in a time where truth is under attack.

Amazing chronology of horrific events leading to the demise of our democracy. The author is devoted to detailing these assaults on a weekly basis, and she will go down in history as a shero. Buy this book—you will need it if you want to help find our way forward.

A clear, concise history of Trump's dismantling of our democracy. Day by day, line by line, Amy Siskind has kept fantastic records of the worst "president" in US history. A must read for every member of Congress, Senate, the House and ALL AMERICANS; so they remember how subtly American Democracy was brought to the brink of fascism.

I am so proud to own this historical record of the current administration's debilitating, destablizing deconstruction of our democracy. It will never be normal, and this text demonstrates exactly why. Thanks to Amy Siskind, we have the facts. We are sustained and armed for resistance.

There may be no person in the world more devoted to capturing and chronicling the dismantling of Democracy under Donald Trump and his Administration. For her dogged efforts, and for this book that draws a line from where we were to where we are, we all owe her thanks.

This is probably the most important book written so far during and about Donald Trump's in office. Never used so much digital highlighter in my life. Not just worth the money I spent buying it, worth every minute I spent reading and highlighting what I thought was most important.

Excellent. She's done the impossible - keep track of all the daily madness of this presidency - history will be the judge and this book captures it brilliantly

( I would have cracked after 2 days capturing the insanity )

Keep up the excellent work Amy

The List helps to remind the reader that what is happening to our Country is not normal. Voters tend to have a short term memory as to history and events. The List won’t let us forget. Excellent read.

Magnificent and outstanding! While this list is online in its entirety, the physical copy in book format is a hefty tome to help one grasp how the US's democracy is being undermined by anti-democratic president, his children, and his sycophants.

Thank you, Amy, for doing such a fine job with this volume, as well as keeping The List going through the online format.

A vital collection! With the constant barrage of news, it's easy to want to cover one's ears, but Amy has stayed alert and sharp every single week since the election to track the changes and make sure we have a path back from Trump.

Amy Siskind is an American hero who is logging history in real time, reminding us all that This Is Not Normal. If you've always wondered how the Holocaust happened and why so many ordinary German citizens allowed it, aided it, and denied it--this book shows us. If you've wondered how democracy dies, and how autocrats get away with it, this is it. Amy Siskind's book is the canary in the coal mine, singing the truth that our political and social norms and laws are being eroded and a dangerous autocrat is gaining power. She is making sure none of us can claim ignorance, and that all of us bear responsibility for doing our part to end this regime.

The perfect summary below comes from a Facebook post by Lori Duke:

“When studying the holocaust, I could not wrap my head around how ordinary people stood by while their neighbors were singled out, blamed, victimized, and murdered.
“Sadly, this pattern is blame, hate, division, and exclusion of anyone who isn't straight, white, and Christian is happening now. And Amy keeps track of it all.
“So we can't say we didn't know.
“Your commitment to speaking out and up is a gift to us all. Thank you.”

I've been reading The List online since the first week it was published. Many weeks, I end up in tears as the Drumpf regime grinds through all that is human, decent and fair. Regardless of how awful it has been, I would rather be armed with facts and The List is the best one-source factual resource for American national politics since November of 2016.

Having The List in my Kindle book collection is an absolute must for searching dates, facts, the ever-changing cast of characters, gaffes, outrages, scandals and other important details amid the chaos smokescreen that surrounds the faux-presidency of this corrupt, treasonous regime and the those that are attempting to keep this regime in place.

Amy Siskind's "The List," is Exhibit A in how to recover our democracy once the Trump administration and complicit GOPs time is done. Each list documents the slouching toward totalitarianism and the destruction of our democracy. From the assaults on our voting systems, conspiring with foreign and Russian thugs, to blurring of the lines between the branches of government to destruction of our norms, institutions, and rights, Siskind notes each not normal item that the current administration has unleashed on America. Siskind's clear, intelligent, lively writing stands up for all those threatened by Trump's white nationalist agenda: women, people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and the institutions, laws, and rights, diversity that make America truly great. When Trump's time is done, The List, will help guide our way out of the cave of Trump's false projections of racism, sexism, xenophobia, and lies, to a better and stronger America. With this book, Siskind takes her place among the great patriots of the great American experiment.

I'm about halfway through and I'm reeling from what I've forgotten. I can't get out of my mind the comment made by Kendziar in the forward. When Conway went on TV and made the comment about alternative facts in regards to Spicers proven lie about the number at the inauguration, it was on purpose. Conway was saying she knows that we know that she is lying, and it doesn't matter anymore because only power matters. She was saying power is more important that truth.
Looking back on all the weird stuff that Siskind kept track of is somehow helping my highly damaged psyche integrate this horror. I keep blurting out, "ahhh that makes sense now", when I read about events that boggled me in real time.

I asked my local library to order a copy, this book is important. It isn't as much fun as Pence's gay bunny book, but then not too many books are.

Without Ms. Siskind's weekly published lists that are now compiled into a book, I would have never been aware of how quickly our government, in just one year, from 2017-2018, is turning into a dictatorial fascist regime. I have now become involved on a daily basis of notifying our congressional leaders about the everyday issues that happen so quickly one day and are forgotten the next by so many. We must be involved. If we are not, our current form of government will cease to be.

I am not notoriously political. Never have been. But this first year of the Trump presidency has been hard to ignore. Everyday, some new appalling thing takes place, which causes you to forget about the appalling thing that happened the day before. The List is a wake-up call to look at all of those appalling events in sequential order, and understand how, with each one, a little bit of our democracy is carved away. It is clear to me that regular Americans are going to have to take our voting privileges very seriously, and put them to good use; and if we don’t speak out/act out, we are condoning misdeeds at a national level. Thanks to author, Amy Siskind, for hitting us over the head with this chronical of weekly events.

If you want a fast read, this is not it. In fact, I haven't been able yet to get through more than one day at a time. But this will be an excellent reference book. We will want to use it to trace back through the too-many-to-count affronts on our democracy when we are able to reclaim it. With this chaos administration, the daily assault is too much to handle. Thank you to Amy Siskind for taking up this charge so that the rest of us will have the facts and details that we missed. This is a book we all need on our shelves. I hope some day to show this book to my grandchildren, and explain that during these treacherous times, we didn't look away.

This is a remarkable and extremely disturbing book. Amy Siskind's passion for truth, democracy, and meticulous detail is on stunning display here, and we all owe her an enormous debt of gratitude for recording this ineradicable national horror story. From the very first week, she began tracking the regime's deviations from our democratic norms and march toward authoritarianism. With terrifying clarity, she illustrates how the weekly deviations increased in magnitude, enormity, and severity from nine that first week to 154 currently . This is an incredible achievement that should take its place among the great histories of the world.

This is a must read for everyone! There has been so much chaos these past 2 years in this candidacy/presidency. Having the details of the past year on hand is imperative. We must not forget what has passed. This is a triumphant book of hard work and detail. Amy Siskind's effort encourages us to stay current, involved and prepare for what is to come. I cannot thank her enough.

THE LIST chronicles all the treachery and "CRAZY" of the first year of the WTF Era of Trump- 528 pages for only the first year!

This book should be in every teacher's, historian's, American's library. One day, we are going to have to explain this terrible time to our children and grandchildren. We should never forget what has happened and is happening to our democracy!

I have been reading Amy's list on a weekly basis since she began posting it on Facebook. It has been a horror story from the start, but it's been important to see what was happening (and continues to happen) right in front of our eyes. It has kept me from normalizing any of the things this president and his partners have done. This frog will not become soup while Amy is on the watch. So proud of her for making this into a great book, and I suspect she will be a historical figure in the future. She will be one known for truth-telling and for refusing to stand for what is happening.

A gut wrenching account, that everyone should read. The very fabric of our democracy has been, and continues to be, ripped to shreds by a conman and his entourage. I’m so grateful to Amy Siskind, for compiling the “not normals” happening daily to our country, and it’s people. And thanks to The List, we can remember what has happened to our great country, and never repeat it! Amy is a patriot. History will remember her fondly.

This book is like the diary I never wanted to keep but had to. The amount of work that has gone into this is just mind-blowing and staggering at the same time. Knowing there needs to be a sequel scares the daylights out of me.

I only heard about this a couple of days ago while listening to NPR's interview with you. How could I have missed it for so long?? I've bought the book, bought the Kindle version too, made a link to the website on my Home Screen on my iPhone, iPad and Samsung tablet? This resource is exactly what is needed. Amy, thank you for your bravery and persistence in carrying on this hugely important public service. I am telling everyone I know about your work.

The List may be one of the most important books to have come out in the Trump era. With a News cycle that seems to have ADD, it is crucial to get that this is not normal. The author is brilliant and dedicated to just posting the facts as they happened. We are living in a time that will become a significant time in American history. Very few books have captured the events which could indeed foster Authoritarian rule and what has been going on since the 2016 election If you need a wake-up call. Read This Book

I followed Amy in early 2017 when the list started. To see it and read it all over again is awesome. The truest true story of the history we are living in the authoritarianism of Trump and his administration.

I have been reading her weekly lists from the beginning. Like everyone else, I was feeling exhausted by the day-to-day changes that were unfolding in front of our eyes ...wondering how I could possibly remember all of it . Her book helps us to look back and see how far from normal we have fallen.

A plus! You need to save this book for the historical data we lived through. This is not a joke, but very real. Every week is slipping into a dictatorship and the GOP Majority di d NOTHING. God help us.

Amy Siskind's masterful book documents the first year of the Trump Administration by providing a day-by-day detailed account of the "not normal" activities, words, sentiments, and actions of the White House and, indeed, the executive and legislative branches of the federal government. The index is invaluable for tracking specific areas of interest. This book is an essential volume in the library of anyone who cares about this country and its descent into authoritarianism in the guise of the Trump presidency.

This book will be essential when our new leaders and Members of Congress begin to restore all that we've lost, all that has been destroyed, and all of our protections for clean water and air, food without chemicals poisoning it, education for all, women's rights, and ethics in our government. Even if you've been following this President and his Administration on a daily basis, you will be stunned at what you've forgotten and how this grifter and his family and political appointees have enriched themselves at the expense of the taxpayer.

Siskind did an incredible job in starting The List and then writing this book and now turning it into a weekly podcast.

She dedicated an unmentionable amount of time to show us how we got to where we are, and hopefully one day her work will help us find our way back.

I have read about 1/2 the book, her ability to expound upon the tid bits of information that were being leaked to give us a day to day of documentation. She deserves a Pulitzer and a two week vacation in Bora Bora with no electronics! Yay Amy!

I'm sure trolls will want to post retorts because I didn't like the book, too bad they don't understand the concept of difference of opinion without trying to attack and bully folks. All trolls reread this quote from the book and spend a bit of time thinking not bullying "openly trying to take away our freedom of expression and First Amendment rights". Siskind, Amy. Please allow me my Right to free expression. As far as the book - this is the writings of a journalist who is extensively involved with organizations who are contrary to President Trump and Republican concepts so it's no surprise she wrote a one sided, largely biased book - as is her right. I personally prefer a more balanced text - my right and my right to express my opinion.

Shattering to read. Makes you realize for yourself just how abnormal things are and how much we've slipped We could end up in permanent trouble as a nation. This list helps us to see how, step by step, our world has ben disassembled and reduced to chaos, within which a new kinds of "leadership" is taking hold very quickly. We are losing all hope of being a democracy or even a civilized, lawful society among our top people! It has helped me to put it all together into a coherent picture. It will be of great interest to historians who study the fall of civilizations when they study ours That is if we don't al just disappear in a nuclear conflagration brought about by little boys with their toys. The passivity of the American people is astounding, especially since they have access to everything they need to know about how tyranny takes hold

"The List" is a comprehensive compilation (400 pages) of the US's erosion of government norms under Trump. The book is written in a weekly numerical format as it documents overt and subtle actions and abuse of power that made headlines and other events that the public may have known little to nothing about. Siskind's book will serve as a vital resource for future generations.

Honestly, I can think of way more negatives than positives of Trump. He has done a complete 180 on all his promises. His promise of a great wall was cartoonish and hasn't happened, He gave tax cuts to the wealthy and claims they are fir the middle class, the National Debt that he promised to raign in, is growing at a record pace, and our trade deficit continues to grow, despite his claim of bringing back our wealth. I could continue, but you get it. And yet, despite all the negatives, things are not drastically different than they were for the last 8 years. Trump is continuing the same deep state plan as Obama and Bush. Obama dropped record number of bombs in Syria and the middle East, bailed out the banks, and extended the Bush era tax cuts. I could go on, but people who read this kind of book like to be arrogantly blind. This chicken little mentality of "the sky is falling" isn't about a concern for America. It's part of the biggest sore loser cry fest in history, that Hillary lost.
