I typically like this author, but thought he used too much detail in descriptors, and plot line was not very well defined. Characters were choppy and didn't seem to flow into the overall story very well.

A preposterous plot, an unlikable protagonist, set in a relentlessly depressing context.....why did I finish this book? The author is obviously intelligent, but it doesn't make this book worth reading. Save your eyesight!

As usual, Jonathan Kellerman writes a suspenseful yet compellingly human story. The way he weaves the story line of Alex Delaware and his personal interactions with other characters is always believable. A great read.

I went back and read "When the Bough Breaks" when I realized I had missed "Blood Test" in my quest to read every Alex and Milo story. Went right into this and consumed it in a day. I think I may get #3 again. Great!!

I enjoy series books and keeping up with characters that grow and change book to book. Even though this book was written pre-2014 technology, I enjoyed it. The characters I met in the first novel were carried through this one. So many times I wanted to say call the cops! And then I would remember this novel was pre-cellphone era. (Ha.).
Would have liked to hear more about the social worker at the end and where she ended up. Overall, kept my interest until the end.
