Absolutely beautiful. I love the illustrations. The CD is a bonus and I will be reading this book to my grandchild while the CD plays in the background. This song has always brought tears to my eyes and I treasure this book.

This book has fantastic illustrations to go along with the timeless lyrics. If you are looking for a storybook, this isn't for you. If you love the simplicity of the lyrics and want fantastic pictures to share the story with your children, buy this. The one twist that makes this book so special is at the end of the book. I get all choked up at the end of the song but this book saves the day. It has a picture of Jackie Paper's daughter coming to visit and play with Puff. That one scene gives this book such a wonderful feel at the end. My children love to sing along and go through the book.

Peter has transcended the classic song with art and images that enrich Puff The Magic Dragon. Unlike some illustrated songs that restrict and diminish the words, this book actually expands on Puff's story in a very clever and subtle way. Excellent.

If you want to indoctrinate your child into a treasured song from your own childhood, you can't go wrong with this combination storybook and CD! My 3-year-old is into dragons, so I ordered this book and we read it at least once a week. My son gets really sad when "Jackie Paper came no more." The book illustrations fix that situation, model friendship and hope in the process, and really help him enjoy the story. The song is now one of his top two favorites. We played it nearly non-stop for 3 weeks in the car and sing it at bedtime often. He likes phrases like "that rascal Puff" and "noble kings and princes." For my part, I enjoy knowing that Peter Yarrow's daughter accompanies him on the songs. She has a wonderful voice. His is showing his age, but that is part of the charm and it is a venerable voice.

Although I miss Mary Travers's voice, this song will always be one of my all-time favorites, and this is a lovely CD and book for children. I'm giving quite a few as gifts this Christmas. Highly recommend.

Worth the wait...illustrations are fab! The story is known to all, but the visuals are what really draw you into this book...my 7 year old son has chosen it every night since it arrived as his bedtime story! I've sent it to several adults for their "inner child"...a must have for every library!

My 33 month old granddaughter absolutely loves this book. We read it over and over and the CD never stops playing in our car. She has almost learned all the lyrics and sings along each time.
The illustrations are beautiful and I especially like the fact that it offers a happy ending for Puff with his new friend. Altogether a great purchase!

Puff the Magic Dragon
This is a classic, its both for children and the parent as well.
I'm the grandmother and I love it, my daughter read it and now my grandson loves it too. We have it in hard cover and paper back as well. We did'nt want the baby to distroy the hard cover. We would like to save it for the next one........

My five year old granddaughter loved this book so much when we had picked it up at the library, that I had to get it for Christmas for her! I enjoy it too, I use to listen to the song when I was a child. To have the book to follow along plus the music CD is fun. I highly recommend it, and am planning on getting a second copy for my house. Also it's great for the car.

The illustrations are excellent, and the words are just the song. What's great is that even though the song ends on a sad note with Puff returning sadly to his cave when his human friends grows up and forgets him, in the book, there are a few more pages showing Puff emerging from the cave delighted as a grown up Jackie Paper brings his own child to introduce to Puff. Truly an awesome rendering.
