There are not enough words to describe the emotions that went through me while reading this book. I have read every book that Isabella has wrote I love every one of them, but this one oh my god. Pet, just takes your breath away.
Pet (the person) is someone you want to be while going through this book. Even through everything she goes through, the pain the love, the emotions you WANT to be her.
King, you want to be in his hands, with everything he does to Pet, it is okay because you know he is doing it out some kind of twisted love for her and in the end, you love him for it.
Stranger, wants to be the savior in all that he thinks is messed up. But he realizes that sometimes life is messed up and so are people and you have to flow with it.
This book will take you to places that might make you uncomfortable sometimes, I found it to be incredibly beautifully told. There was not a part of this book that I did not enjoy. I could not put it down even while my tears were falling. Thank you, Isabella, for telling this story!!

What a beautifully and sympathetically written taboo romance....Sapphire is a young, flirty and smart mouthed restless soul... into her aimless existence comes King who will forever shape and change the direction of her life.....this is a gloriously twisted erotic story with more than one dirty, sexy alpha male and a slutty, stubborn minx...but as the story unfolds secrets begin to emerge and suddenly this simple tale is not so simple anymore....

I was enthralled by this book and by the wonderfully described complex characters and the world which they inhabit....this story is one big mind-game (the store will not allow a more apt description) King is so deliciously wicked and perverse and there were several occasions when I really wanted to spank his bottom he made me so mad...then there is the waif-like, damaged Sapphire who has fallen into King's protective clutches..she is so many contradictions..at times she annoyed and frustrated me but conversely she made my heart break an innocent victim of other peoples perversions and indifference...and then again there are times when she is the one in control and in charge...

There are intense scenes, dark themes and angst but additionally there is the security blanket of tenderness, humour and a twisted kind of love by way of aftercare ...the author states that this book was written for herself and I get that...something so emotionally charged so filled with despair and joy and all the feelings that exist in between has to have come from the heart but thankfully she has shared it with the reader and so I shall take this gift and even though I have turned the last page I shall treasure it for a long time to come...thank you so very much..you broke my heart and put it back together again... I received a copy of this book as an ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review...

Everytime Isabella Starling has released a book I think it's her best one yet and now she has given us Pet. As she states in her book this is a book she has written for herself and not the readers but oh she has delivered us a story that is so much more than we could have ever expected and hoped for. The emotional ride that we go on during the story is unbelievable. She gives us a sweet broken submissive girl in Pet that falls for the striking dominant man in King and then there is Stranger and how does he fit in to their relationship.

Pet is a story that is so much more than a dominant and submissive relationship that your heart with go through the ringer again just thinking about the story once you are finished. Yes there are the wonderfulyl sexy scenes that only Isabella Starling can deliver but there is also a beautiful love story told from page 1 until the very end!

5 stars is not enough for this book. Isabella this book was so worth the wait. This is now my favorite book. It is very rare a book can evoke such emotions from me. I was enthralled from the beginning. I don't have the words to adequately describe this book. It is phenominal. The characters are well developed, complex and the story line is riviting. The key characters are Sapphire, King and Stranger. Keep a box of tisdues and a pillow handy. Tissue for tears, pillow to scream in or throw... One Click this now. So worth it. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book and I purchased this book to have in my library.

This story will stay with you long after you read it. A story of a broken little one named Sapphire from her broken beginnings through to her struggles as a young adult. A very unpredictable story that has you feeling everything and more. Discover what happens when she meets King a man who she believes will make her whole. A stranger who confronts her fantasy. Read what happens when your fantasy is shattered in the most soul destroying ways. Sapphire will have to learn how to survive to continue. A well written book with plenty of twists and turns you won't see coming. Highly recommended read.

I really wanted to give this a bad rating because it made me sob, but I just can't because it was so good. I lost track of the times I cried while reading this book and none of them counted after the letter. Oh my God! It broke my heart reading that section. I cried so hard and the only thing that tempered the sorrow was the ending. An amazing book that I certainly won't forget.

I really tried to love this book, but there were too many hodge podge scenarios. The heroine (if you can call her that) is a virgin, but her behavior is quite questionable: upon meeting King (one of the "heros" [I am using that term VERY loosely]) at a party she is working for a friend, she lets him finger her and goes home with him that night where it gets really messed up. Then, along comes 'Stranger' (later named Felix, the other "hero") and they precede to do whatever they want with this poor girl. But I can't really blame them for finding the perfect crackpot to be their pet. I could not relate to the heroine because she was too easy for a virgin. Past good looks and attraction, she really didn't establish a reason why she loved either of these men. The ending was good and twisted and the saving grace to this craziness, but I need more depth in my dark romances not just characters thrown together because that's what the author wants without explanation. Throughout the whole story I kept asking the same question: why is this happening, why is that happening, WTF... WHY?! Also, in my opinion, it was long winded for such a shallow story. I have read this author's previous works and I am a fan that believes in her vision, but this work just didn't hit the mark for me.

What the heck did I just read?!
This is definitely a five star read.
It will have you angry, There will be times when you think Sapphire is freaking nuts, and wonder what her problem is for dealing.
There will be times you hate King...but in the end you will love him. He will rip your heart out and not give it back.
And, Felix, I just loved him. I could not find no wrong with him.
I am not giving away no spoilers. If you are looking for a good kindle unlimited read, look no further...
Download Pet free with kindle unlimited. It is scorching hot, mad craziness. so wild. What an adventure. I did not want it to end. And when it ended I wanted to put it back together again. I definitely recommend this book. I do not give 5 stars out easy. 5 stars are earned. And this author wrote one heck of a five star read.
And for those of you who do not know, this author has another name, Fawn Bailey. Check out her series Rose and Thorn. I am glad I came across this author.
not rushed nor short.

This is my first read by Isabella Starling after starting but not finishing His Brat and can i just say...
Beautiful
Erotic
Love story
Healing
Heartbreaking
Devastating
Unforgettable

These are a just a few words to describe this unique and superb story. A darkish, loosely based ménage but definitely a romance as the title implies. With a beginning that hooks you, a middle to break you and an ending that will complete you, its just, WOW!

We meet King, a beautiful, dark and dirty, MAN, MASTER, SIR, depending on what the naughty vixen wants, who deliciously dominates and takes what he wants and what he wants is Pet.
Sapphire is a bratty little vixen with a troubled past she has well ignored. On a gap year after completing school, she covers her housemates shift where she encounters the domineering King and wants... more
Her body craves everything he offers, but her mind struggles to agree, with triggers to her haunting past. If anyone can help make her forget and heal, its King.... or perhaps a total Stranger?

His Pet. Her love. King and Pet’s journey to love, trust and healing is a devastatingly beautiful one, until a dirty Stranger who knows what he wants is thrown into the mix, and mix, stir and beat things up he does! He wont apologize for going after what he wants.
Initially I wanted Stranger out! I wanted King to kick his butt to the curb and then do it all over again, stopping the stupidity that could see King and Sapphires road to HEA threatened, but... he somehow crept into my heart while I was busy cheering King on, and stole it ?

When King, Pet and Stranger come together it ignites. Good, bad and everything in-between. A bitter love-hate relationship between King and Stranger will leave you conflicted and torn – do I choose King? or Stranger? And just when you finally decide, you will have to choose again. Pets loyalty is so lovingly beautiful...if it was just that simple? You just cant help but feel for all three of them in different ways.

Just over halfway, the story takes a wicked turn with a heartbreaking twist. It left me screaming profanities (directed mainly at the author!)
WHY? HOW COULD YOU? NO, NO, NO!
AND THEN.... the kicker...

Kings selfishness for what he wants and conscience for what is right go to battle, and what a bloody battle it is. Casualty’s of war, including myself, will see the beginning of the end, so shocking it left me sobbing. A devastatingly emotional turn-of-events.

Each character was unique and truly captivating in their own way. The storyline took me there and the characters held me tight. My anxiety built with each turn of the page...but let me tell you. I. DID. NOT. SEE. THAT. COMING! I was done for, game over. And then... I was put back together again (although maybe not entirely?)

Starlings writing was completely shocking, in a good way! To bring the reader into the story and hold you captive, whilst giving a full experience and emotional state-of-mind, is a true talent few can achieve successfully? I really hope this book gets the accolades it deserves and the author what she needed (re authors dedication)

Pet was a remarkable read, which I not so patiently was waiting to be released. I was ecstatic to say the least when a won an arc copy via author FB promotion. So much so, I put my current read aside and got stuck straight in.

Wow, just... WOW!

5 star masterpiece, well played Starling ???

I received an arc of this book and voluntarily reviewed. I absolutely loved Pet. King and Pet were great together. A strong connection with a lot of chemistry. I got to admit, it left me a little heartbroken. It's very dark and intense. You have to finish it though. It's definitely a journey. Pet is worth it though. Please pay attention to all of the characters. There's King, Angel, and Stranger., I agree it's a story that needed to be told. Love conquers all in the end. I also admit this book had me on pins and needles. It was definitely a emotional roller coaster.

I received an earc from the author for the purpose of honest review.. Last year I read , a book that Sterling had co-written that I found okay. It didn’t standout to me and I was hesitant to read this one despite the blurb drawing me in. I’m glad that I did pick up this book, as this pushed my boundaries, which happens only occasionally. It was in a good way of course, and it wasn’t major that it defined the reading experience for me. I never thought I would find a situation like I did in this book , but it needed that situation. It was a moment that made the book for what it was and open up the realm of possibilities.
Pet isn’t ground breaking of the subject matter, the relationship between master and sub. It’s how it is written that will leave you addicted turning the pages, wondering what in store next. Pet is the typical woman we find in these novels. Barely eighteen and still acting like a spoilt child. She needs help but unfortunately it hasn’t come for her. Until King enters the picture and opens up a whole new world to Pet and us the readers.
The moment , King enters with his massive presence and body, I knew that he would test the boundaries, her saw Pet for what she could become. A trained young lady who knew how to navigate this dark world, that King was taking her into . However Pet wasn’t one to let him walk over her and their chemistry was magic.
The push and the shove between them, and the relationship that build isn’t one that I expected. There moments , where you question things wondering whether King has truly changed or has Pet fully understand what she has got herself into .

The story is complex and addicting and truly resonates with what this genre is about. As nothing is straight forward when you read one of these novels and Pet is a good example of this . Pet’s complexity allows for the characters to really be embraced and show how whilst it can be dark, there is light in there. Pet’s not for everyone one but I couldn’t help embrace the novel and I honestly think of one the best surprise books I have read in a long time. I haven’t even scratched the surface with this book and I must say it needs to be experienced for yourself. There so much more to this dark novel and I couldn’t never explain the relationship properly. King , Pet and co are characters that need to be experienced for themselves even though I wrote they can be pegged into certain types. This is only the beginning to them and it’s a story that won’t be escaping my mind any time soon

Epic! Sapphire is 18 and broken. King finds her and can’t resist taking her as his latest Pet.

Ok….where to begin….this is one of those books that are hard to review because you can’t say much. At times you wanted to get to the end to get all the pieces of the puzzle yet at the same time you never wanted it to end. There were a few crumbs of information that were hard to catch, but at the end the pieces are put together and while you want to scream, yell, and throw your kindle at the same time you realize it was perfectly written. Definitely not how you wanted it to end, but it turned out to be perfection!

King is twisted and at the same time you fall in love with him. Stranger seems like the knight in shining armor, but how much do we really know about him. And Pet, wow, her story is just….sad….really…..I have no words!

Sapphire Faye is newly eighteen and struggling to keep her life in check. Upon agreeing to take her roommate’s catering shift, she meets the older and domineering Hayden King, who cancels all the background noise in her mind. A bit reckless in her behavior, Sapphire craves what he can provide. While King’s intentions were simple, his actions were quite the opposite. With his demanding nature, King trains Sapphire to be his Pet and she responds in every way.

When I first started this book I thought what kind of 18 year old virgin acts like this but further along into the story you learn what made her act this way. This girl was all kinds if messed up. In retrospect King was the best thing that could have happened to this girl. I didnt like the head games he played with her. I didnt like that he was sometimes brutal and abusive. But these seemed to be things she needed at the time. It was one of those cases where the end justified the means. The twists and turns this story took were dizzying. I didnt see the big one near the end coming though Im sure others guessed at it. I loved the ending. It was a great happily ever after. This story is described as dark but its not really. I should read this book again knowing what I know now because Ill understand better, why King did things the way he did, why he brought another man into the mix even though he didnt want to.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - Strange book, very dark, the kind of kinky sex that I don't particularly get into & other kinds that I definitely loved. The thing that baffles me is that the writing is fantastic & there is a story here, not just sex. There is angst & pain & suffering & love that comes out of the kink. Sapphire is barely 18 with no direction, removed from her family & friends, when she meets King, a very powerful man who sees this lost young girl & swoops in to take advantage of her submissiveness. He slaps her, humiliates her, chokes her, calls her Pet and moves her into his expensive apartment. He hurts her by having sex with a previous pet so it is made very clear from the beginning that this "arrangement" is temporary & soon Sapphire will be just another one of the pets he shoves aside. King is surprised that his feelings for Pet are nothing like what he's had before for any other woman, and he even digs into her past to find out why Sapphire is such a lost girl. Her story is extremely sad & it makes me sick that King is using her the way he is. So the menage that is promised right there in the title of the book - fantastic plot twist! King forces her to walk the streets to find a stranger to bring to their bed, a man who is definitely into the same kink but starts to stalk Sapphire as he has deep feelings for her. King has to push Sapphire away & OMG it was unbelievable what happened! I could feel a little girl's heart breaking like she was 5 years old! Like I said, great writing and there is another plot twist at the end that I definitely didn't see coming. Extremely high level of weird but hot kink but I also got lost in a great story. Hottest scene, with Stranger & King sharing Sapphire, and King calls the shots, orders Stranger to fill her up so she can "leak" them both out at the same time. Holy crap! :)

Pet: A Dark Ménage by Isabella Starling
This is the first book I have read by Isabella Starling and it wasn’t what I expected, DO NOT take that as a bad thing. Most books I read around the ménage are generally all about the sex. In this case I felt the story was solid on its own with the steamy sex scenes used to only enhanced the reading experience.
This book centers around Sapphire Rose Faye, Hayden King and later in the book a mystery man. I know what you are thinking because I know I did when I saw Sapphires name for the first time. No she isn’t a porn star or stripper. She is a barely 18-year-old running away from the skeletons in her closet. King is a 40-year-old self-made man who owns a lot of the city and is hiding a deadly secret.
These 2 meet one night at a gallery show, Sapphire was a sever and King is meeting with investors. He instantly takes note of Sapphire and whisks her off to his apartment. We learn that she has cut off all ties with her friend’s family. King is enthralled with her and starts to call her ‘Pet’. They have an unconventional relationship and have secrets they don’t willing share.
As we navigate through this relationship I found there were times I want to slap the both of them. Pet’s being bratty and King being moody and dangerous had me laughing and cussing all with in the span of a few pages. The back and forth these two dealt with and the emotional pain inflicted was at time hard to read.
About half way through the book we are introduced to Stranger. Why is this Stranger brought into the mix? Excellent question. King told Pet to find a stranger on the street and bring back to the apartment. What fun right? See emotional mind games. Pet has a hard time with this task.
With our ménage in place the rest of the book is a blur. I can’t bring myself to explain anymore without giving away some key components to the story and provide any insight as to what unfolds. I will let this leak…….I needed to keep a box of Kleenex close. There were many tears shed and my heart torn out but in the end I came back around and enjoyed the ending.
If you enjoy a book that has the perfect mix of sex and good story they this book is for you. There are secrets that get revealed love, loss, murder, lust, innocence and tragedy. You will run the gamut of emotions and come out feeling fulfilled and satisfied.

There is nothing really dark in this book - it was implied that there was some impact play (which I don't consider dark if it's consensual and this relationship was 100% consensual) and a lot of humiliation, which of course, Pet loved. What 18 year old who had been sexually molested wouldn't love that?

King did a lot of peculiar things with pet - the scene with Angel, the scenes with Stranger, and the finally awful threesome scene that didn't really work for me - that had not explanation at the time - or even after the veil was removed from the reader's eyes as to what King's motivations had been all along. Stranger - until the big reveal - made no sense to me. And again, what inexperienced 18 abuse victim would get into that? It could happen, but the author didn't draw a deep enough picture of any of the characters to make it believable.

The author's forte appears to sex scenes, but I like a decent plot around the sex, but the big reveal felt contrived, so by the end, I was unsatisfied. Not sure if I will read this author again.

With dark romance you I had always looked at them as you either love or hated them. With this one I have to say I have a love hate thing going on. When reading this book you will feel so much emotions running through you. I did have to step away from this book from time to time because my emotions were getting the best of me. I truly felt I had been on an emotional rollercoaster once I was done reading the book. I was truly emotionally drained.

If you are like me and love and crave the dark romance, then let me tell you that this is a must read. I have read books by Isabella Starling before but let me tell you she really out did herself in this book.

I got so pulled into the story. I connected individually with each character. There were things I hated and things I loved. I felt I was so pulled into the story that I was emotionally invested in the story. I wished I would of had a box of tissue close by because I truly needed them before the book was over.

To be honest I hated King starting out in the book. What he done to Pet the first time he met her and brought her back to his apartment made me mad on her behalf. I wanted to reach out and slap him around, to even yell out him. I was not certain the author could win me over on his character after that but to my surprise she did. I grew to love and respect him. I saw his love, devotion, and passion that he truly had for Pet. I saw the anger that he felt on her behalf. He might of looked at himself as selfish and not good for her but I truly think he was what she needed in her life. He started a healing process that she truly needed. He truly wanted what was best for her.

Pet so was young and innocent but craved something more. I hurt for her. She had so much, loneliness, and despair. She was so alone in this world that it broke my heart. The uncaring attitude that her roommates had made me mad. She wanted to be love, wanted to feel like she belonged, and wanted to have someone that cared enough to stay around. She had so many walls built up that she truly needed someone to tear them down.

Angel, WOW!!!! To be honest at first I hated her. I did not like how she was brought into the story. I wanted to step in the book and stop the scene the was playing out. Just like King I did not know if the author could win me over on her. Once again the author surprised me. I truly liked her by the time the book was over.

Stranger, I had a love hate feelings toward him. I loved the bad boy attitude but hated his lack of feelings and respect he had for King and Kings relationship with Pet. Stranger did have this sexy ora about him that you will fall in love with and his feelings like King’s is very strong for Pet.

There are some very dark parts in this story. Like I said earlier I had to step back a few times and get my emotions together before reading on. After reading the book I had to even step back before writing this review.

This book is about hurt, healing, growing, and a love worth dying for. It is also about loneliness. I can not imagine the loneness some of these characters must of felt and to have not one in your time of need had to be hard. It is also about feeling complete and finding a happiness that you never knew you could have.

Truly glad I took a chance on this book.

Holy s***!! Those were the first words out of my mouth after reading the last words of this book. There is so much I want to say but don't quite know how. My thoughts are jumping around all over the place right now. I'm going to give it a try anyway. Honestly, at first Sapphire (Pet) got on my nerves. Her feelings seemed to keep jumping around, and very quickly. One minute she'd be yelling, "I hate you. I hate you. I hate you." at King. Seconds later she'd be practically jumping him wanting him to kiss her and f*** her. I got my feelings partly by remembering her age and how young she was. After hearing her story and what happened to her, a lot of her behavior made sense and my heart broke for her and what she had lost. I didn't care anymore that her feelings jumped around.

Let's be honest, Pet's relationship with King was a little f***ed up. However, it was also strangely beautiful. There were times I wanted to scream at him, punch him, slap him, etc. His behavior didn't always make sense. The last few chapters of the book explained it all though. The reasons for everything he did fell into place and I realized just how deep his feelings really were for her.

Pet's relationships with Maria and Stranger also had my feelings going back and forth. I liked how these relationships were explored, even if they did frustrate and anger me at times.

This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. The first line in the book's blurb, "My name is Pet. My story is going to break your heart." is completely true. Normally I can zoom my way through an Isabella Starling book. They are so good that I just want to read them in one sitting. However, with this one, I couldn't. Not because it wasn't good, obviously. I wanted to keep reading, but emotionally, I had to step away. This took me a few days to read, with me reading other stories in between.

I highly recommend this one! It is not for everyone though. It is definitely a dark romance. If you don't like, or get offended by, dark content, I'd pass on this one. However, if you think you might enjoy it, in my opinion, I think you'll find it's actually a beautiful story. On a side note, I really hope Maria gets her own story next.

Title: Pet
Author: Isabella Starling

5+ smashing stars

This book broke me in so many pieces that I'm still rubbing my eyes of those tears that just can't seem to stop leaking from the corners. I wish they would stop so I can make some sort of half a---ed attempt to pretend that Pet didn't touch me in ways I never expected. Let me start my review with this author's dedication at the end. Why? Because no matter how many times I'll pick up a book, I never know what to expect and when I'm this affected, I'm always curious to know what the were thinking as they wrote their book.

Isabella Starling didn't let us wait too long to find out since as much as she apologizes for breaking our hearts, she admits it broke hers but that the story HaD to be told. And what a story it is.

5 hot and sweaty dreams

Who is Pet? She's 18 and a few months, hiding from a terrible secret and until she met King, she was always afraid of something. Through King, she's pushed to heightened boundaries, learns to fully submit and to finally come into her own. King is a man used to getting what he wants and makes no qualms to being selfish, only he never expected that Pet would become his world and he'd want to protect her from her own demons. And Stranger? He's the man that Pet feels drawn to in ways neither can explain. E's a mystery but the small girl makes him feel things he can't describe. Their destiny is intertwined from the very beginning and if you could guess how before the author tells you - my hats off to you.

I'll always say it: when I come across an amazing book, words always fail to truly express how it touched me, I fell in love with this book: with Pet's bratty ways and book hoarding habits. With King's need to protect this girl. And with Stranger's strong feelings for her. I fell in love with the unexpectedness of the storyline, but most of all, I fell in love with how it made me feel. I wish I could say this was my favourite from Isabella Starling (because it is), but every time I do, she always comes up with something better and no less powerful.

Too many emotions and not enough words that is exactly how I feel right now having just finished reading the book. It’s hauntingly beautiful in the most twisted, broken, sexy way possible. I loved King from the first scene and nothing that happened faltered those fellings and yes I get that is not the usual response he got, at least not the end of the book, but I could not help myself I guess I trusted him, which is a weird and awesome thing to say about a character. Pet well she was a slightly different story, I liked her for the most part although I couldn’t always understand her choices. Stranger was great in his own way he just wasn’t King and for me he was simply outshined. I wish I could say so many more things about the book but can’t without giving away too much so I’ll just strongly encourage you to read this book. It’s full of sex and definitely twisty and dark so it’s not for everyone but if that doesn’t deter you it’s definitely one click worthy.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I absolutely love this authors work, she manages to capture your attention and imagination from the first paragraph to the very last paragraph.

We meet 18 year old Sapphire (Pet) due to past experiences she is a broken young girl but boy she is feisty and certainly has a mouth on her. Sapphire is working as a waitress in a Art gallery and it's here by chance that she meets Haden King.

Haden King is the older dominant male but he also has a cruel streak in him so when he spots Sapphire he decides that he wants her as his pet and he doesn't care at what cost all he knows is when he wants something King gets it. Haden can have his pick of any woman that he desires but he's not interested in them he wants Sapphire. Unbeknown to the outside world Haden is hiding a secret from everyone. You will have to read this book to find out exactly what this secret he is hiding.

I won't lie there were times in the book that I wanted to punch Haden King in the face due to the way he treated Sapphire but I found myself getting frustrated as the more I read on the more I found myself warming to him. He's definitely a marmite (vegemite) kind of guy you either love him or hate him.....

The chemistry between Haden and Sapphire is off the charts but then stranger comes into the story and takes this story onto another level and you begin to wonder if the three of them will be able to make this relationship work.

I will warn you this book isn't for the faint hearted but if you don't mind these sort of books it will have you gripped from start to end.

Another 5* read for this author

Captivated from page one, this story draws you in like a moth to a flame. From the onset, you can feel the raw need, passion and intensity.

Sapphire, a teen with angst piled by the truckload, is determined to go against the grain. She is unapologetic in her negative attitude towards everything. King, a devil in a suit, many years her senior is an adonis. He gets what he wants and there is no one to stop him. Their connection is instantaneous, her will to submit just by a glance and his need to dominate are clear as can be. King brings Sapphire to her knees and from that moment forward she is deemed Pet.

King brings her into his world, filled with sex that can only described as visceral. He claims her and bends Pet to his will. She is hungry for the lust he feeds. There is nothing she wouldn't do for him. He sets her up with tasks that she is destined to fail, but her craving for him does not wane and she takes every sadistic thing he dishes out.

King is selfish, but he learns of Pets troubled past and in turn makes it his mission to set it right for her. Pet has effected him in a way that no other before her has ever done to him. This complicated Dominant/submissive relationship takes some jaw dropping twists and turns. The level of emotions that run through you while reading this book can be described as sinful, erotic, painful, sadness and joy.

This is not like anything else you have read before. Fast paced, superbly written and down right erotic. A must 5 star read!

This book was definitely different from other Isabella's books but it was still amazing!

Pet was a lost and damaged young girl, we don't know yet why she is thus way but we can see she is just going through life as if she has nothing left. She has no ambition and no plans, and for some reason she doesn't have any friends left.

Her meeting King was intense from the beginning, he saw something in her, behind her harsh words and fake bravado there was this scared little girl who needed his guidance.

The book was super fast paced so if you don't like that then this is not the story for you. That being said, it didn't feel forced, she submitted to him in a complete and natural way.

But they both had secrets and those would be the end of them.

I didn't understand why King held back during the whole book till the end, I guess you will soon figure it out too. He really surprised me, on his worst moment he showed me that he was just a man and that made me see him under a different light; not this dominating god, but a man who just didn't know what to do.

Lets talk about Stranger... He blew it out of the water with his appearance and first scene in the book. He was just what Pet needed even though she didn't know it yet.

From the group, he was the less damaged, yes he had some issues but he was less limited by his past or present circumstances than the rest of them.

A good story and amazing sex scenes!

*An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review*

PET was my first read by Isabella Starling. I loved it and will be reading more of her books. This was a dark and twisted story about a girl named Sapphire, an eighteen year old girl with a troubled past. She needed money and got a catering job at an art gallery filling in as her friend Veronica. While she was working, Evans, a drunk stranger at the gallery kept following her around, harassing and causing trouble. It caused quite a stir then King showed up asking what's the problem. Evans didn't like it when King told him to leave her be. He started running his mouth then the next he was swaying and fell into the platter Sapphire was holding making a mess all over the floor.

Just the sound of King's voice had Sapphire blushing, heart pounding and feeling things she shouldn't have.

Sapphire's beautiful long blonde hair, blue eyes, long legs with a filthy mouth and playing hard to get really got under King's skin. He wanted her as his PET. He had to have her the moment he saw her and knew she wanted him too.

I had a time trying to figure out why King did the things he did to Sapphire (PET) until closer to the end. One minute you would fall for him as much as PET did then hate him the next. There are some pretty scorching hot and steamy scenes throughout. The things that happened in her past and present in this story are heartbreaking. Even though the story gutted me, the ending turned out beautifully. <3

Seriously this is one of those stories that stays with you You see the beautiful man who declares how selfish he is when in fact he is one of the most selfless souls Books later it will come to me the beauty of King. How he does everything in his power to heal a broken soul regardless of how painful it is to both of them. This story has depth beyond the title and genre it is under. If I were in a college Literature class this book could have book reports on it by analyzing motive alone. I would have liked to know of kings background since we were not introduced to his friends or family. Although that missing piece is obviously vital to analyzing Kings world so to speak. If there were a movie (which it should be) about this story, I doubt highly anyone could leave with dry eyes. I would love to see a story about Maria and flashback to her time with King since he changed her and gave her Sapphire, her best friend. Honestly, if everyone of these people in this beautiful story doesn't make you want to be a better version of yourself, I do not know what would.Tragic, beautiful, devastating, broken, and for me personally, hope that the broken part in all of us is healed with understanding and acceptance just a bit by the story. We are all broken in someway and broken is okay. I feel broken again but put together again afterwards as well. Thank you Isabella Starling for waiting to write this story until your writing could do it justice.

I do everything for a reason. Don't worry............

Every now and then a book comes along that literally knocks you for six. I've left it a week before writing this review to try to get my thoughts straight. I still don't think they are, not many books have got to me quite like this incredible story.

Sapphire (Pet) is young, beautiful, sassy, sometimes petulant. Broken. Her world is changed forever when she meets King.
King is dominant and obsessive appearing cruel and heartless at times, but he has a reason for everything, even if he keeps them to himself! At times I wanted to hate him but the more I learnt, the more I realised he is capable of such tenderness, loyalty and love, but he is broken too. The man is an enigma and the connection between him and Pet is off the charts. Then there is Stranger, he meets Pet under very questionable circumstances but their chemistry is undeniable too. How can the three make it work?

"I f***ing feel you, Pet, I still feel you in my heart with every breath I take, in my lungs, in my head, everywhere, you’re everywhere."

This book is dark, twisted, sometimes disturbing, erotic and not for the faint hearted. Usually you get a feel for where a book is heading but I had no idea how this book was going to end. I just couldn't see how these flawed but beautiful people could make it work.
I didn't see it coming, but it was perfect, it was heartstopping, tear jerking, devastating and totally unexpectedly perfect.

Isabella Starling, you have nothing to be sorry about, Pet is about as emotionally powerful as it gets. I absolutely loved it and the effects of this book are going to stay with me for a long time.

As mother of a daughter who suffered sexual abuse pre-puberty that I was unaware of, I really sympathize with Sapphire's parents. How does a happy, intelligent girl turn into a person who seems to spend all her time reading, has few close friends, likes the male teacher that is so stand offish, all the other kids are failing his class, and has serious hate for the counselor that thinks she can diagnose and 'fix' her? All this in spite of the huge amounts of money the parents spent on counseling? And to have to let her go from your home when you know she is so depressed she can't take care of herself?

That's how Sapphire was at barely 18 years old when King ran into her trying to do her roommate's catering job at an art gallery event. King, a wealthy man, is attracted by her beauty when he steps in to protect her from another man coming on to her rudely. He takes her to his penthouse for the night. When the roommate is fired and asks Sapphire to move out so her new fiance can move in, Sapphire becomes King's Pet and moves in with him. He keeps her engaged giving her rules that she can follow or get the 'hurt' she so desires as he disciplines her. This is just the beginning of the scary trials that truly 'hurt' King more than Pet as he loves her into healing.

What a tearjerker! Surprises and more surprises! I highly recommend this book and volunteered a review from an ARC.

Pet is a very different unconventional type story.
I think this is Ms. Starling's best work.
It's has a unique plot. That's gripping and intense.
The characters are complex, intriguing and multifaceted.
King,Pet and Stranger are intricate fascinating people.
Each one's background and experiences are pulling and interesting.
The story is very well written. Everything flows to a conclusion that can't be predicted.
The dynamics between King and Pet is emotional and so deep it's chilling.
Their physical relationship is hot and at times calculating because King does everything with a reason.
When Stranger enters into their life things just get more complex.
The ménage scenes are hot and sexy. Everything just sizzles between the three of them.
Even when they are just talking or barely touching.
But it's more than just the sex. There's a deep connection between the three that's all centered around Pet.
It's hard to describe the story. It really just needs to be read to get the experience of
how these characters minds work especially King.
If your an Isabella Starling fan then Pet is a must read.
If your looking for a story that's different,a little dark and a lot sexy then look no further than Pet.

Wow, an outstanding story that is most certainly dark & erotic! Sapphire aka Pet has a history many can unfortunately relate to, but to read about it is hard. Yes, I cried. Her willingness to submit, on her terms, is beautiful and the men who cherish her, even better. King's story took me completely by surprise. At first I was mad, but his letter gave me clarity & helped reconcile why the author wrote what she did. The ending has a tranquility all its own in a twisted way, but fits the spirit of this story.

I don't recall any warnings at the beginning of this book about triggers, but they are in abundance in this book. If you're choosing a dark erotic story, my guess is that this is something you're already aware of. If not, please heed this warning!!

All said and done, I'm glad I read this deep, dark & twisted erotic story. The ending I wouldn't describe as a HEA, but there are reasons to smile. It's the right closure. If you're looking for this type of story, have time to read cover-to-cover, because you won't want to put it down!! Yes, it's that great! I don't give out a lot of 5-stars, but this story earned every single one. Now, I'm in need of a light-hearted book to clear the heaviness this one left behind.

Again there were no words to describe how excited I was to read another Isabella Starling book. Her writing is phenomenal, I absolutely love her words and the worlds she creates. This book was no different. I loved these characters and I enjoyed going through their journey with them with a rollercoaster of emotions that will rip you apart and a heart breaking end.
I loved the interactions between all these characters especially with Pet, King and Stranger, it got very hot and steamy between those three. I loved how caring and possessive they were with her and the things they'd do for her. Also loved Pet’s interactions with Maria. I absolutely loved Stranger when he first get introduced in the story, loved the mysterious air about him. King’s feelings and emotions towards Pet did confuse me a little, as I felt it was always up and down with him. I would love to have read more of a back story with him and get to know him a bit more. Although I loved Pet as a character, I did find her to be quite annoying at times.
I felt there were a couple unanswered questions, that for me, never got answered by the end of the book.
But still a great and heart wrenching read
4.5 stars

My absolute favorite Isabella Starling read to date. There are not enough works to describe how this book will make you feel. The relationship between King, Pet and Stranger is complex & exciting. King is a mysterious, dominant, alpha male who is drawn to Pet just as much as she is drawn to him. They embark on a roller coaster ride of a relationship. Some aspects of that relationship are difficult to process, not for the faint of heart and definitely will have you cringing so take that into consideration before you enter into this. I liked King but really wanted to kick him in the balls sometimes for how he treated Pet. Pet was sometimes a little too easy going and compliant about some of the things that King subjected her to considering she had no experience sexually but maybe that's why she went along with it. I had to warm up to Stranger at first but he eventually found a place in my heart at the end. He truly is want Pet needs and King realized that himself. I love the ending because it is so different from Ms. Starling's other books and appreciate that she made this book stand out from all her other projects. Overall this is a very good book that holds your attention from start till finish and you will always remember the story of Pet.
