This is my first time reading from this author. Like it says this is a Dark and Decadence story. Kayne is a successful Business man and Ellie works at a company handling some of his company's business. When they met a little over a year ago, they both had a connection, and Now Ellie is ready to see where it goes. Her boss is having a business party, for a night that was going to be Ellie finally showing Kayne she was ready to act on they chemistry turns her world upside down to a world of Dark sexual desire of Master / Slave ownership, but Kayne does this to save her life but he can not tell her that just yet. What you think you know isn't always what you see but what you don't see right away is a lot of truth and justice. When Ellie finds out the truth can she forgive Kayne are will he lose her for good. Very good book I could not put it down. I recommend this book to all.

I really loved "Owned"! Poor Ellie did not realize what she got herself into when she asked Kayne out. Things went bad when Javier shows up and the only way Kayne could save her was to make her his slave. I was surprised at the ending of the book and I can't really tell because then I would give away the ending! I love Jett and I hope more gets written about him! Man I need a MAN like Jett around. He does hair, makeup and he styles Ellie to perfection of course that is when she gets to wear clothes. It does end on a cliffhanger so beware but, it will be so worth it when the next book comes out!
Now for the WARNING: Owned is a DARK Erotic Romance! There is nonconsensual sex, violence and abuse, not consenting Master/Slave relationship, and intense sexual situations. Don't buy this book if you think it is a light read (it isn't!) Don't buy this book if you don't like this type of book.

UGH. Yup, this was the incoherent sound I made when I finished reading this book. To say it ruined my life would be an understatement. To say it rocked my life would also be an understatement.
In this story, the author focused on Ellie, who's seemingly hopelessly enamored with this stereotypical Hunky McHunk who works with her boss. The story goes on to describe the overwhelming chemistry, the "sizzling" danger, and the suspense of something looming on the horizon that lurks between Kayne and Ellie as they go through various erotic encounters with each other, since Ellie has become Kayne's slave. Yes, we have gone from "cute guy from work" to practically "Master". Now, I'm not very good at summarizing stories, but this is basically what happened: Girl meets boy, girl really likes boy, boy has hidden, oh so illicit feelings for girl (including but not limited to wanting to spread said girl out on a conference table *details in book*), girl eventually puts the moves on boy by wearing sexy dress one night at a party, dangerous man associated with boy comes into play and wants girl in a bad way, and so boy takes it upon himself to claim girl as his own and take her to "Mansion" (which name will be explained later in the story).
Okay, where to begin? THE FRUSTRATION THAT I FELT WITH THIS STORY WAS UNREAL. The cliffhanger at the end?!?!?! I probably woke up the neighbors with my bloodcurdling scream of horror, "WHY?!?!" (Since I finished at some ungodly hour for want of reading it to the end) It ended so completely unsatisfyingly. Now I know some people will be thinking, "Well there's supposed to be a cliffhanger, it's the first in a series!" Well let me tell you something, you poor, misguided soul: MOST BOOKS DON'T END SO HORRIBLY! I know I'm exagerrating a little, but after going through the steaminess that is Kayne Roberts only to have him cruelly snatched from me, I believe that I am well justified in my anger. Sure, the smex was hot, and the characters were likable, and the story was interesting (and the smex was hot), and the mystery of what was about to happen was intriguing, AND THE SMEX WAS HOT, but if one takes into account its, to be frank, CRAPPY ending, I would say that even the sexy scenes couldn't spare this book from a relatively bad review.
So sure, if you like the idea of a somewhat fast-paced story, sex to fantasize about as you idly do your laundry, and AN ENDING THAT WILL HAVE YOU SEETHING IN UNMITIGATED FRUSTRATION, feel free to read this book. I pity you, poor soul.

I was blown away by this book! I actually growled at someone who interrupted me while I was reading this book. I couldn't put it down. I want more Kayne and Ellie! This book met all my standards (which are pretty damned high) for a five star rating. I loved the characters. Ellie was sassy, snarky and had a smart mouth. She was strong even in situations where anyone else would look weak. Kayne. SWOON! Loved him! I'll never look at cupcakes without blushing again. He's everything I wanted him to be. Smart, sexy, dominant, alpha, strong. I hated him a little at first when he first took Ellie, but I knew he had his reasons. Indeed, there was a method to his madness. I adored his devotion to Ellie. Jett. How could I not completely adore him? He was like Ellie's non-gay fairy godfather in addition to being Kayne's brother from another mother. I'll never be able to look at a guy in skinny jeans and not think of him again. I loved how he befriended Ellie and cared for her. He was important to the story and the author did a great job of making him more than a sidekick. The story itself grabbed me from the start. It wasn't what I expected and caught me by surprise. There were times where I felt horrible for Ellie and worried for her but she held on even when I thought she was going to give up. She fought her submission but I liked how she began to embrace it. Kayne's growing infatuation with Ellie was a major turn on as well. They both ended up fighting their feelings for each other. Kayne wasn't what I expected and just when I thought I had him figured out the author showed us more of him. This is the first time I've ever received an ARC and it did not disappoint. I absolutely cannot wait for book 2! On a side note: For those who share my pet peeve of spelling/grammar errors in books, let me assure you I only found 2 while I was reading. I was pleasantly surprised and it made it that much easier to enjoy myself as I read.

I’ve read other comments and I don’t completely agree with them. I don’t think this was similar to the dark duet series because Ellie’s “captivity” was not born out of a need or want to make money. The lengths in which Kayne took to protect her are questionable at best but needed given the circumstances. His relationship with his friend Jett made him a complex character to me. The sex between Ellie and Kayne is HOT as Hell.
The scene between Ellie, Javier and Kayne gutted me. Especially since by that point I realized who/what Kayne was and hated that he was putting Ellie through this. He should’ve been honest from the beginning but I understand he felt he couldn’t, given the type of maniac Javier was.

This book is intense....make no mistake..dark erotica is exactly what this free-falling ride is. Kayne is a gorgeous man who owns an import/ export business and is sexy, wealthy and filled with secrets. Ellie, has been crushing on Kayne for over a year. Their flirtation comes to a head at a work party and that's really where this story begins. Can you say nightmare scenario...Yes, Ellie wakes up as a sex slave....a SLAVE!!! And wow...Never really gets detailed about the dark dirties done. We bounce between our two main characters pov...which I actually love. But Owned........is Part 1...that's right Cliffhanger!!!!!! Although, the ending is hinted...I'm anxious to see where we will be led in the next installment. Obviously, Kayne really liked his role and poor Ellie needs a break. I hope we get to see her strength and spunk return....

WoW...this may have been one of the spiciest books I've read this year! The story takes you from one place to another in a wink of an eye...one helluva ride with loads of ups & downs until the very last page which leaves you with a huge question mark! Loved the excitement, the sizzling hot scenes between Kayne & Ellie, the humor, the strong willed characters and the amazing plot.A book which captures your attention from the beginning and has you begging for more by the end.Book two-Claimed is definitely on my TBR list!!! A highly recommended 5 sizzling hot star read!

the most griping novel in this genre, I have ever read.this novel really draws Magnificent, strong charactors in an excellently structured story-line. The emotion is off the scale. The sensual drama grabs hold and doesn't let go until the last word! But the last word ? It can't be. This couple deserve more, much more! This story must continue. The finish has not yet been realized. They are as one. I can't fathom any other way for Kayne and Kitten to survive.

Decadence is an understatement. This is a very dark read. RI've cried more times reading this book, cursed more times than I can count, and I feel emotionally drained at this moment. With that being said, I am dying to read the next book in the series. M. Never has a style of writing that makes it damn near impossible to put the book down.

Let me preface my review by stating that dark and erotic are not the type of book I usually read. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review and so I read it. While I can't say I enjoyed it - the content was too upsetting for me - it was well written and the characters were compelling.
The main characters, Ellie and Kayne, have an attraction that they start to act upon at the beginning of the story. After Kayne kidnaps Ellie, their chemistry quickly turns into a dark and twisted Master/slave relationship. It seemed as if Stockholm Syndrome was in effect in the situation as, in spite of beatings and violent sexual acts (not rape but definitely forced), Ellie becomes deeply connected to Kayne. For his part, Kayne is obsessed with Ellie and as he says, would do anything for her except let her go. The sex between the two is highly erotic and, as I said, although it is not rape, it is definitely forced with strong elements of BDSM involved.
The secondary character and the man who assists Ellie in her "training" is Jett and I thought there was much to be written and revealed about him and his character. Hopefully, in the second book, he will be featured.
I agree with previous reviews in that the end was rushed and too abrupt and I am happy that there will be a sequel. I felt all along that there had to be something happening behind the scenes, a deeper more noble story and was pleased that Kayne's behaviour was partially redeemable. How on earth he will make it up to Ellie is beyond me but I live in hope.

I hated the beginning. It appeared there was not one redeeming quality in our "hero" only cruelty and abuse. Then somewhere around 70% it was like reading about a different character. One that you could cheer for and hope he finds a way to make it work. I will read the next installment because I have to know what comes next

Ellie has been crushing on a handsome man (Kayne) for quite some time. He's a client for a company she works for. Finally getting the nerve to ask him to a party her company is hosting, things take a turn. A good one, or so she thinks. Kayne has had his eyes on Ellie for quite some time as well. What a starts off as flirting and kissing soon takes a dark turn.
This is dark, twisted and has a cliffhanger ending.

I honestly loved this book and the adventure these two are about to take. I was a little hesitant about getting the book after reading the warnings. It is a DARK romantic adult book but I could not put it down. This book will have you on an emotional roller coaster and feeling a little torn. I wanted to yell and throw things at Kayne. Erica you feel for. Jett brings a light feel that the book needs at the right times.
I like how the author tells this story from both sides. You know how each main character feels during the story.

Absolutely loved this book! If you don't like dark stories, this is not for you. I fell in love with Kayne and Ellie! Wow, what a story; there are all kinds of twists, turns, and surprises! Kayne is one hot, sexy, dominant, protective, alpha male! He will burn those panties he is so hot! You will never look at another cupcake the same! In my opinion, this book was hotter then FSOG!!! Pick this up, you will not be disappointed!

Who knew the word cupcake could hold all the love and pain and promise of two people with a burning passion and deep connection who may not make it through. This book is not for the faint of heart but if you like a man who may not be damaged beyond all repair and woman who's sexual being is awoken in ways she never expected...this is the book for you.

The lesser of two evils?? Be careful what you wish for!! Dark and delicious. Kayne is so bad he's good. Does Ellie even know the extent of her inner desires and strength? Is she strong enough for the truth? The heat is combustible and the storyline is compelling. Can't wait for more. This is a must read.

This is a captivating story. Sometimes I felt like I wanted to throw my kindle , and there were other times when I didn't want to put down my kindle.
I experienced so many emotions while reading this story. I still continue to think about the characters and the somewhat of a cliffhanger ending !!! ( I love cliffhanger endings) !!! Of course the sex is scorching and plentiful !!!! Light to mild BDSM .
I hope the next book in this series is as captivating as this one.
Superb job M. Never !!!!

This is a very intense book and complete master/slave status. The way the author wrote each scene you can no question about it feel exactly what both Ellie and Kayne are feeling and going through. I instantly fell in love with Jett and the bond he creates with Ellie. I don't like spoilers so I don't want to give much away but I thought that it was some great writing. Never would have I expected the turnout that I read.

Oh the store. A new, even better, rating book system! Love it.
Okay so! I hated this book. It has everything in a dark erotica that I am sick of. I want an unapologetic hero! Aside from that the common themes in this book are:
-A hero who will kidnap a girl and treat her like an animal but won't rape her
-A hero who has angsty monologues about how the heroine should stay away and that he isn't a good person.
-A heroine nicknamed kitten
-Constant stalling on actual intercourse because the hero keeps asking for permission but will do other sexual things with her
-The heroine denying the attraction even though she wants the hero
This is so over rated. They meet at a party her boss is throwing. Apparently the hero is one of their biggest clients. Then the next chapter is about him being at a bar and waiting for her to show up. She does in a very revealing dress and isn't shy with her advances towards him. They leave in a limo and he drugs her drink and she passes out. Wakes up in a cage and refuses his demand of her to strip so she is in the cage for about three days before finally stripping her clothes.
After that the next few chapters, up to chapter fourteen I think, is about her being trained and her "beatings" consisting of only spankings with a crap, rolled up newspaper and bare hands. While the hero constantly asks if he can have sex with her and she says no but in italics it says yes. So she's pretty much being defiant for the sake of it.
I stopped reading at the part where she and Jett do something and whatever the hero's name is, comes in and consoles her and she asks him to touch her.
Both characters were annoying. Kayne was the most annoying and I usually like being in a guy's POV because they are mostly put together than the heroine's annoying thoughts but I found him to be very angst like with what he was saying in his head. Ellie I didn't feel like she was really scared since she was always making dry comments about her situation.
I'm really sick of this whole slave thing in dark erotica. apparently he and Jett and Javier have some kind of plan or whatever.I don't know. 23 percent and fourteen chapters in and that's all I got: spankings, intercourse stalling and angst.
