Awesome story, although it does get a bit repetitive. For those wondering whether or not to get the other two volumes as well, lets just say I was happy enough with the ending to volume one. There were a few loose ends, but I hear v. 2 & 3 get REALLY repetitive.

It's really just an okay read. One can definitely tell the era by the art work. It is neat getting a little background on Bane (not mention seeing behind the mask). As for Azrael, he seems to be another cookie cutter anti-hero to me. Both character story lines do suffer from "why" they seem to be so pissed at the world.

It's a good addition to a collection, just don't expect too much in terms of a story line. When I consider the potential it had, it's disappointing, as the Knightfall saga could have been thee greatest Batman storyline line in the 90's. Unfortunately it's a bit of a miss for me.

This book was pretty good. I wanted the actual novel but since its no longer available for a decent price in print and not available at all on the kindle i decided to buy the graphic novel version. Once I started reading I really couldnt stop. The story is awesome, the art is good for its time and its just a fun and interesting read. I wish they used this trilogy of books in Nolans Batman films, it would have been amazing.

The story was another Batman story where there is the seeming need to put so many villains in at once that it just becomes comical.
Bane is a badass though and that's why you are here right?
The artstyle is definitely an older style but it does its job.
The story was a 9/10 about 70% of the way through but dropped to a 6/10 for the last 30% or so.
Did not leave me wanting to read the other 2 volumes even though it left you hanging.

Great story, a little dated, but really essential reading for fans! This isn't "The Dark Knight Returns" or "Year One", but it does stand the tracks of time. Worth buying both this and Volume 2.

I was a kid when this came out, and right on the heels of "The Death of Superman", I remember being real mad that Superman was killed by a blank new enemy, and then Batman broken by another two dimensional newbie. I still feel that Doomsday is fairly generic, but Bane has come into his own since this book, it may be the reason I have fonder memories of "Knightfall" today (or it could be *spoilers* Bats gets better).

Is Bane Ivan Drago? Perhaps.

That was one chunky book.

Having recently ordered and read through both of the re-released "Batman: No Man's Land" volumes presently available, I expected the re-release of "Batman: Knightfall" to have a relatively similar look and feel. Boy, was I wrong. "Batman: Knightfall" is nearly twice as thick as each of the NML volumes, and will likely chew up quite a bit of real estate on my bookshelf.

Now, reviewing the book's dimensions may seem a bit petty, and I suppose it is; but the thickness of the volume makes portability difficult, and for someone who likes to throw a trade paperback in his luggage when he travels, that's a big deal. The information is available on the product information page, but I rarely heed that stuff. I will from now on.

Now, to the fun stuff: the content. Any fan of Batman really should read this story; it marks a significant season in the hero's journey, a time when Batman was stretched so thin for so long that he was simply unable to function. It is a compelling tale, one that begins in the dank darkness of Pena Dura on Santa Prisca, and ends in blood on the streets of Gotham. Seeing Bruce Wayne's response to the traps set by his arch nemeses and marking the fatigue as it spreads wider and deeper across his features is a remarkable experience, and will likely make for a faster read than anticipated. This is a book written and drawn by some true masters of the craft: Alan Grant, Doug Moench, Norm Breyfogle, Graham Nolan, and a host of others knock it out of the park on nearly every page.

This volume is a reprint, and I mean that in every sense of the word: DC even used the same kind of paper on which the original comics were printed, so it feels (and smells!) like those originals; it was truly a nostalgic experience for me, and I savored every minute of it.

Take, read...and enjoy. You won't regret it.

This will be very short.

Everything you need to know about the collection is contained on the other reviews. No much I can say about the content, except that is wonderul!

Coolest thing to do is to really collect Knightfall in it's entirity. Volume 1 is the perfect start.

Why do I take 1 star off? Because of the paper quality.

I received my copy today, and although I was very pleased with the lenght and content, the paper left me cold. Is the exact (or almost the same) paper quality as the old editions.

I honestly thought that the newspaper paper wasn't used anymore. Man! I wanted to take two stars out because of that, but I guess the good is bigger than the not-so-good.

Great collection of comics making up the first part of this trilogy. It seems like two issues are missing though. Several times two issues are referenced. One being Bane facing Killer Croc and Azrael. The other being an issue where Riddler is on Venom. Other than that this was a great first test for my Fire.
