The Complete Novels and Stories - Volumes I and II

The typesetting in this version is careless throughout. One character's dialogue will run into another, for example, instead of being properly paragraphed. Individual words are often connected, as if someone forgot to use the space bar. Such mistakes detract from the pleasure of reading Doyle's superb stories and novels.

if you want to read the Canon on Kindle, I recommend paying more for a quality version.

UPDATED REVIEW - When I first purchased this, it said volumes I and II, but it only contained volume I. I returned it and was disappointed that I couldn't own the digitial version of my favorite published version of the SH cannon. However, after researching recent reviews, I decided to purchase this again in hopes that volume II had been added. And after opening it up, I saw that it had been! So, to review this version - I give it 5 stars. The penguine paperbacks are my first SH books, and I absolutely love their simplicity and completeness. The stories and chapters are all organized and quickly accessed. The content itself is some of the most brilliant mystery writing I have ever read. I highly recommend not only the Sherlock Holmes stories, but this particular version over others. And I also recommend not only picking up this Kindle edition, but also the boxed set of both volumes. It's a joy to carry around so many thrilling and captivating stories along with me.

Deceptive - (I own these as soft covers, and ALL the stories and novels are in the 2 volume collection. However, when I received this kindle edition, the table of contents did not include all of the stories and did not have all of the novels. I really wanted to read Hound of the Baskervilles, but it just wasn't in the table of contents! How could they sell this AND NOT have everything listed?! How can I return this?? I want my money back. So I can buy something that doesn't deceive me!)

I had used the Kindle version and it was excellent. Real page numbers and working Table of Contents. I own the hard copy of the Barring Gould Annotated edition when I want to read a physical copy. The Kindle version was to read and enjoy on the go.

unless there's something wrong with my Kindle there are either no pictures in this version or they aren't loading or something. Instead of paying 3-6 bucks for this, i can get illustrated versions or free ones. Returned.
