Good information, poorly written. Way to many unnecessary words used to describe simple concepts. Almost felt as if they were just added as filler to make the book longer. Other than getting passed the frustration of having to read it, there is good information that can be picked out.

Amazingly detailed in instruction and extremely well laid out in progressions. This book covers each of the Olympic lifts in amazing detail yet remains straight forward enough to follow clearly. The specific insights on the techniques, programming, and weightlifting in general are insurmountable in their value to any dedicated coach or athlete. This is simply a must-have for serious athletes!

This has to be the most comprehensive book available on Olympic weightlifting. I'm only a few chapters in and already have learned new things that I'm applying. A must have book if you're at all serious about getting better.

The 2nd edition has additional training plans and describes the 'Bulgarian Training method'. I own both editions and just the additional content, after review, justified my purchase of the new edition. Good job Greg!

This book is a must have for atheletes, coaches and trainers. Besides learning the obvious Olympic technique on point; it's imperative to understanding basic foundational movements from setup to finish. Everyone squats and lifts items from the floor; it doesn't matter if you're not lifting at the gym, what he teaches is vital to prevent injuries in those daily functional moves. When you're ready to advance to the power moves, you will be flexible, agile and strong. He teaches even the novice how to program design, but also encourages seeking out a coach with a trained eye. I go to this books regularly to inspire my lifts and help me understand how I can cue the various population I work with. If we are considered healthy by being able to lift 55lbs off the floor, then it's vital learning HOW!

Good: Detailed explanations, many pictures, programming advice, description of supplemental and auxiliary exercises to assist the main lifts
Bad: Little to complain about. Could have benefited from larger pictures

Extremely well presented. Selection of photos was very helpful in understanding techniques. It is normally very difficult to learn a challenging subject such as Olympic Weightlifting from a book. Not in this case. Everet has demonstrated outstanding coaching and writting ability. I look forward to your next book.

I have used this book cover to cover. The illustrations and description of technique are clear and easy to understand. I especially found the common mistakes section excellent, it really helped me to understand when I was having an issue what was causing it and how I could correct it. I recommend it for anyone that wants to work on the olympic lifts..

Exceptional information and technical cues. Comprehensive. More for a coach or cerebral lifter; Not a beginners "how to" manual or "get started" book. It just covers too much....So what exactly should the beginning do? What is the core, the essence of learning the O' lifts?

That is what the Weightlifting Cues book is for. Does it have the same information as the big book? Yes, but now you have the bare bones information in one place for what your coach needs you to master...

A truly terrific book about weightlifting; contains a ton of good information. Teaches the reader all the particulars of each lift including a comprehensive error correction chapter. Also has a great section on flexibility. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Olympic weightlifting as an athlete or a coach.

Outstanding book, sensible, relatable and pragmatic language. Comprehensive, well structured and free from irritating hype or self indulgent change-your-life-in-three-hours sales pitches.
Strongly recommend it for anyone in pure Oly Lifting, speed and power sports and crossfitters.

This book, though more directed to the Olympic style lifter, has some very good information for any type of lifter.
A little bit of a biology/physiology background is helpful but not required; very informative.
