This is a wonderful book. I loved hearing the practical side of how to create even on demand. One of my top 10 reads for my business. These unheard of ideas are fresh and thoughtful. Thanks Todd for putting this out there - we all need to hear this!

Throughout my career, I've been on constant overdrive--never taking the time to really think about why I'm always stressed out, and why I sometimes lose motivation for a particular project. Of course it was because I'd been running myself dry! Energy is what I was running out of, because I was treating it like an unlimited resource and not doing anything to make sure that I aligned myself with my creative rhythm.

Energy is just one element that Todd writes about in his book. Most importantly he breaks down the principles of recognizing and maintaining your creative rhythm. He offers specific, concrete practices that you can apply to your life today to help keep yourself on your own bleeding edge of creativity.

Highly recommended read.

The Accidental Creative is an amazing book that helped me look at the creative process and life/work balance from the right perspective. It help me to know what it takes to create a sustainable environment where I can thrive as a creative.

There are certainly takeaways and valuable insights that can be gained from this book.

I am glad that I read it but overall I felt like it could be condensed much further without some of the "fluff".

Terribly unuseful and very dissapointing! It is about how do you organize your life and environment to be more focused, not how to be quick and brilliant when coming up with ideas. Misleading subtitle.

The Kindle edition is more expensive than the hardcover from the store. I can get a new dead-tree paper version printed, packaged and shipped for less than the Kindle version. I will not buy anything else from this publisher or this author as long as they insist on gouging customers. I bought a used hardcover version to ensure the publisher & author got zilch for their attempt at gouging. the store needs to push back on publishers that want to gouge Kindle customers.

This book is a disguised intelligence test--if you buy it you are too foolish and out of date and lazy to EVER be creative in any sense beyond crafting textile bunnies.

The internet generates 100,000,000 million books like this every single day. This is the biggest threat to google search--google is every single day searching through hundreds of millions of times more junkier junk. This book is the example.

If anything ANYTHING in this book interests you you are incapable of creativity of any sort. Read this book as a test of your personal quality. Your reading quality. The quality of the web as a whole. This book is the epitome of why MORE is not MORE.

Fantastic book with lots of food for thought. One of those books where you're torn about what to do - continue reading and picking Todd Henry's brain for more awesomeness or stop reading and figure out how to apply the various principles to your life. I decided to read all the way through to get the whole picture and then go back to implement various practices.

I think my favorite thing about this book is it isn't just a "how to have more time" or "how to do better work" kind of book. It's (as Todd Henry wrote in the cover of my book when he signed it) how to "be prolific, brilliant and healthy!" You get the feeling that Todd Henry is genuinely caring about how you go about your workdays as workweeks (and personal life or whatever that part of our life is that we don't do work in...if that currently exists!), and encouraging you to truly do your best work.

And in the final words of the book, "I hope you will join me in the effort to empty yourself each day, and strive to find your unique voice. Don't go to the grave with your best work still inside you. Die empty."
