The author's imagination blows me away. His command of 3 dimensional battle vision and tactics, such issues as planetary gravity on ship motion, and weapon technology are incredible. If you are into space battles, read his books!

Black Fleet is good light reading - I found the characters well developed and the plot was good. I found the description of the spaceflight within a system to highly confusing though, sometimes it would take hours, other times it moved like an action film. No complaints, just confusing. Joshua - write more of this universe.

I appreciate the character development in the book. The battle scenes are as probably accurate in terms of time and distance as such can be. And the end of this book had a twist that the author threw in out of nowhere. Pretty sneaky but allows more subplots in book #3.
Earth Fall: Invasion : (Book One) :: A.I. Destroyer (The A.I. Series Book 1) :: The Bourbon Thief: A southern gothic novel :: House of Shadows (Ghosts and Shadows Book 1) :: New Frontiers (Expansion Wars Trilogy, Book 1)

Well written. Story in book two follows on book 1 and the author did not fall into the trap to rehash too much of what happened in book 1. He assumes that the reader read book 1 and knows the facts of the story. Busy with book 3 and cannot wait to read other stories from this author.

this is the second of a trilogy set, continuing the forces attack by alien cultures with new characters, new plots, and lot's of excitement and novel twists. If you like science fiction, then this is a good read and builds on book one.

This maintains the pace even better than the first book. The heroes (several of them) all have their flaws, and the villains are not simply evil; they are believable.

It is going to be hard to wait for the third book.

This book and this series was for me an enjoyable read. It flows well with an interesting plot and we'll written action. I think the characters could be fleshed out more, but I recommend the series.

Pretty good Space Opera. The characters are well written and interact with each other very nicely. Mr. Dalzelle's writing reminds me of early Drake with a touch of E.E. Smith. I will be buying the next volume.

In contrast to the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre that doesn't contain any events remotely related to science but contains characters who might just as well be fighting with bows and arrows, the Black Fleet Trilogy has it all.

A very good continuation of the story and much better than the standard 'middle' book of a trilogy. Captain Wolfe is out there spearheading the fight against the Phage. Good continuing character development of Wolfe and his crew. Definitely some surprises right up to the end. The author provides us with "a little more detail into the politics at play in this universe for things to make sense". Generally, the turn to the politics shuts down my interest in a book; but this worked and we can understand some of the reasons why things are going on. All-in-all a good second book and ready for the next.

The author knows how to keep a reader interested in the story. In my case it was a page turner. I enjoyed few supervises and twists he added to the story. I think it is a solid addition to Space Opera category in Syfy.

Well developed characters, a plot that is believable and enough action sequences that make this series a must read.
Thankfully there are no super empowered characters to obscure the believability of the action that unfolds.
Me giving a rating of 5 Stars is an extremely rare event. Take my word for it, this is an excellent read and the author is ready to add a new and exciting turn to the plot.

Continuing adventure of Captain Drake as a pirate and warring against his former officer and commands in the Navy. Author, Dalzelle develops main characters, introduces new ones and keep the plot moving.

Since sacrificing his ship against the single invading Phange ship Captain Jackson Wolf has been waiting for the Phange to launch a full scale invasion. Now it appears the Phange have at last reappeared, but even with several years to prepare the human confederacy appears unprepared to meet the challenge. Indeed it appears the confederacy may be falling apart. -- A good continuation of the story but I was a little disappointed with how the author resolved the hopeless conclusion. I will withhold final judgement till after I read the third novel.

His characters. Elements of mystery are developed and the tension of the story increases. The science is believable and the politics appropriately frustrating. The sense of hopelessness is heightened and curiosity is peaked wondering how the characters will resolve their dilemma.

Its a great second installment for this trilogy, can't wait for the final part. Only reason that it is 4/5 is because its not has much of a on the edge of your seat that the first one was. This is more political battles
