BBW menage shifter romances - Double Dragons Boxed Set

The storyline while short gets straight to the point in a satisfying way. As always Terry's love making scenes are incredibly steamy and well written. I recommend the double dragon series for anyone looking for a good steamy read!

Short review:
Fun series, very moral (as noted below), brave and sexy males, 'average' heroines that are relateable, enough plot to keep it moving, and really exciting adult scenes that are imaginative MFM between the triad of mates. 'Light' reading. Positive. HEA. Good length.

Heat level Poblano, on the hot pepper scale :-) so not a clinical Penthouse article with tons of mechanical/performance details (Habanero), but far sexier and more graphic that the Olde Bodice Rippers (Jalapeno).

Liked:
Characters, overall story arc that ties the set together as the allied Dragon-shifter teams find their mates and complete their bonded triads. Sex was very female-positive, males were kind and responsive, people had quirks and flaws making them believeble and realistic. Story driven by the romance not the sex, though there's lots of hot scenes. And not all at the end!

Disliked:
The spelling and grammar errors threw me out of the story flow at points, but there are not too frequent. Easily fixable if author speed-reads and edits for them.

Last book omits the part where the Purple dragon must have also bonded to his mate, after they rescue him and bring his unconscious body back to safety. That's the one big omission I found that sat uncomfortably.

A fun read, with good imagination supporting the paranormal elememnts, but not as deep as a dedicated Fantasy Novel might be, ala Terry Goodkind or Elizabeth Anne Scarborough.
(They write EPIC, involved, slow-reading, thick novels ... not 'light', steamy, or romantic at all. Excellent in their niches, though.)

Can't go wrong with a .99 box set :-)

I'd say older teens could read these despite the hotness level. Older juvies are curious: shaping their outlooks and seeking 'forbidden' knowledge. They could use the good examples of how women should be treated respectfully, and seduced thoroughly upon committment to a life partner. Beats the amoral MTV-minded 'reality' trash on TV!

Sex:
All scenes are MFM between fated triad mates. The males take turns with their mate, for 'the act' itself, so no DP.
ZERO: cheating, betrayals, degradation/punishment, abusive language, substance use, anal/other risky sex acts.
YES: pleasure oriented, emotionally bonding, problem-overcoming, relationship building.

These books were awesome and I loved the plots as well as what this author does with her characters. Must say that she has become one of my all time favorite Authors. P.s. I only have two now, so that's saying a lot. Js.

Double Dragons

Melissa has been alone most her life, in and out of foster homes, and is content with the life she's built for herself even if it's lonely. When she foolishly or bravely interferes with a gang of men attempting to kidnap a little girl, she gets rescued by two of the most gorgeous men she's ever seen. The men take her home with them to see if she could possibly be their mate and reveals a world Melissa had no idea about... Dragons and other shape shifters. Ran and Draven are Dragons, they have been partners since they were teens per the rule that dragons are better protected living in pairs. Melissa must prove that she's in it for the long haul and won't run after learning the secrets Ran and Draven have been keeping from her. If she can accept them, dragons, secrets and all, the bond the three of them would share would be one for the record books. Melissa is a fantastic character, she's very open minded and eager for adventure, they tell her that they are dragons and she's just like sweet, when can I see your dragon forms lol. The chemistry between the three of them is smokin' hot and there is plenty of humor to balance out the seriousness of story. I hope this is the start to a new series because I definitely want to read about more hot dragons and the quest to find a mate.

Desired by Dragons

Tara is on the run from an abusive, stalker ex-boyfriend and is getting ready to move locations again when she jumps into a raging river to save a little boy. After saving him, she gets rescued herself by two of the most gorgeous guys she's ever seen. Drake and Quill are dragon shifters that have been partnered together for a long time, but their partnership has been rocky from the start. Impressed with Tara's bravery in saving the boy, Drake and Quill think there is a good chance she could be their mate and they convince her to give them a week to prove they would be a good match for her. The threat to Tara from her ex-boyfriend still hovers in the background and is threatening to escalate while Drake and Quill try to resolve their differences and at the same time show Tara they are males worthy to be her mates. I love this series!! Tara pretty much rolls with the punches and doesn't let the fact that two gorgeous men kind of kidnap her get her down. Drake and Quill are out of sorts with each other but quickly unite in perfect harmony when it comes to their mate. I can't wait for the next book in the series, keep them coming!!!

Destined Dragons

I love this series!!! Gentry is the purple dragon and in charge of his region, Sterling is his dragon partner and has always felt indebted to Gentry for choosing him instead another dragon. Gentry has a vision about a dragon-heart being captured and killed, so Gentry and Sterling fly to the rescue. Roxy was kidnapped by people pretending to be the press after rescuing a man who was pushed in front of a moving train. She is rescued by two of the most gorgeous men she's ever seen and agrees to spend a week with them to see if they are compatible to be mates. Even after being rescued, Roxy is still in danger and Gentry and Sterling are trying to not only keep her safe but they are also trying to gain her trust to prove they can be the best mates a woman could ask for. I absolutely love the dragon series, I hope there are more to come, but if not, this was a great book to end the series!!! Thank you again, Terry Bolryder, for another fantastic read!!!!

Double Dragons

Terry Bolryder portrays the existence and lives of dragons in a way that is unique to any I've ever read before. It is thrilling and exciting to immerse myself in her imagination. She writes the world of dragons as protectors that work in pairs; each having one particular gift that compliments the other. Draven and Ransom are an unusual pair in that the kind of Dragon Ransom is has never paired up with the kind of Dragon that Draven is. (I would go into more detail, but I don't want to ruin the story.) The dragon pair is looking for a mate as a past attempt proved unsuccessful and has soured Draven on any future attempts. Ransom is an optimistic fellow and can't wait to try again. Then enters Melissa; she comes into their lives during a mission where the dragons must stop a gang of 'human' traffickers, who are actually wolfs, but whatever. Melissa is a champion for the underdog and even though she doesn't have a chance of stopping the bad guy, she can't let the little girl suffer alone. Melissa turns out to be quite perfect for the dragons and the dragons are perfect for her, but Draven takes a bit of convincing to go along with the plan. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves shifter stories, steamy sex scenes, and a new take on dragons. I hope Ms. Bolryder plans on writing more about other dragon pairs or single shifters along the same story line.

Desired by the Dragons

This is the second dragon book of this series and Ms. Bolryder lives up to expectations! She introduced Drake and Quill in the first book and I thought Quill was gay and Drake was a jerk. In this book you learn that neither of those assumptions are true and that Drake and Quill didn't really know each other that well. They each bring important aspects to the relationship they share and they relationship they are starting with Tara. It takes Tara to make them learn to love each other and their new mate. This book shows you some of what goes on when the dragonshifters are young and are first paired together and it explains why these three pairs are different from any other pairs from the past. Definitely a must read.

Destined Dragons
This is the third book in this series about dragon pairs. This book describes the journey of the leading pair and their mate. Gentry, Sterling and Roxy have a harder time than the other two pairs. Sterling feels like he owes Gentry his life so he spends all his time taking care of him and he gets quite territorial when Roxy enters the picture. It took me a long time to warm up to Sterling as a 'good' guy in this story, but when you find out his background he quickly moves into the 'great' guy category. The end of the book ties the three couples together nicely, but I am still hoping for more from this series; the next generation or maybe the dragon pairs can train some of the other regions because their unusual pairings have done so well.

Ransom Draven and Melissa
Melissa was content with her boring calm life. Then one brave but stupid move changes her life forever. Her whole world is turned upside down by these two large men, Ran and Draven. They tell her things that any sane person would never believe. Then on top of that, they say that she cannot leave them ever if she chooses to stay. As tensions are on the rise, and dangers are lurking everywhere, Melissa makes yet another stupid move to save one of them and realizes in that moment what she needs to do.

Great storyline with lots of mystery and twists. Lots of action scenes to equal out the love scenes between them and all of it was equally enthralling. I definitely like that each dragon on their team(s) are certain colors that pertain to their powers.

Quill Drake and Tara
We already met Quill in the last story with his healing powers and Drake with his super strength. We also caught a glimpse over their not so healthy partnership and how they just do not get along. So when they save Tara being again brave yet stupid, she is not inclined to stay with them if they cannot even get along with each other. Tara has a strong willpower and she refused to just leave everything she built behind, just for these two dragons. The wyverns are gone, but are they really? As Quill and Drake try to “play nice” with each other, Tara is still trying to get on with her life. Then in one instant everything changes and she can no longer go back to what she had before the dragon men.

This was a great second storyline to the trilogy and it was a nice relief of the dragons that are partnered are not necessarily going to always get along.

Sterling Gentry and Roxy
This was actually the story I was most looking forward to. The all powerful Sterling and Gentry and what would become of them. Especially after they tried to take away Tara only to be alone once again. I was very curious as to what their powers were behind their colors, and I was not disappointed. Gentry being the more relaxed and easygoing was a brilliant balance to Sterling’s overbearing brooding. Roxy had no idea what she was getting into by being saved by these to all knowing dragons. This story was by far my favorite out of all of them because there was so much mystery and brutal honesty between the three of them. The other stories had it too, but not as near as heartstring pulling as this storyline. The ending was just the icing on the trilogy dragon cake and makes me wonder if there is more to come!!

NOW THIS IS THE DRAGONLICIOUS BOX SET YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR! Terry Bolryder is one DRAGONTACULAR author whose books I cannot get enough of! These Dragons of New York are oh so very smoking hot and each are treasures in their own way, but for the lucky gal who gets to call two of them her own? Well, she is one very Dragon-hearted lady indeed!

I feel dragon-hearted right now. 5 stars
Their mate. That sounded amazing. WHOOOEEE! Now THAT was a book that is off the scale!! Terry has outdone herself with this fiery romance! How lucky is Melissa to get not one, but TWO MATES! Of course they are just as awesome on the outside as they are on the inside! I was blown away by the awesomeness that is the Dragons! Their history, their power, their abilities, how they do things, their...EVERYTHING is just so innovative & unique! Now I have read quite a few menage stories, but there is just that little...something...that spark...that added magic that Terry brings to this one! Now I know that Draven and Ran would probably wish for me to use a different term to describe their story, but they can suck it up, buttercups! This is just so magical, so fiery, so beautiful! Who wouldn't want these two amazingly perfect male specimens for one night let alone for eternity as your mates?!? Yours and ONLY yours! I love how Terry has made these Dragons, how there is more shifting, more abilities and more magic in this story than in some prior books of hers I have read. Don't get me wrong! I have LOVED EVERY. SINGLE. BOOK. that I have read of Terry's, but this story just has more of the paranormal to it, which is only right since it is about Dragons!! I find it very wonderful, remarkable & breath-taking that Terry can write so many of these fangtastic books but yet they are all different! Sometimes there is barely any shifting in them, sometimes lots (like in this one!), sometimes their powers are great and used a lot, sometimes not. But the one factor that they all have in common is that they captivate you, immersing you into such an engrossing story, time and time again! I LOVE the creativity, the humor, the magic, the romance, these 'real' characters that she creates that are so multifaceted with their history, their traits, emotions, etc. and are the kind that pull you in, connect with you so that you are feeling & experiencing every emotion with & for them. Add in the deep, enriching storyline and then you can see why Terry's books are so loved by many! Terry truly is one utterly amazing & exceptionally talented author!! I look forward to repeatedly reading her books for many, many years to come!

Desired by Dragons (Dragons of New York book 2) by Terry Bolryder

She didn’t know how far she could go. 5 stars

How far they would take her. But as long as it was just them, she would go anywhere. WOW!! I absolutely dragon-heart this book!! This is one FANGTASTIC story that I actually enjoyed even more than the first one - Double Dragons! I loved Quill & Drake, how even in sync they can still be out of harmony with each other, or vice versa, depending on how you look at it. Tara comes into this with her own problems and issues but she is still a terrific character that I could totally relate to. I found it to be such an intense, passionate, caring, loving & amazing story that I couldn't put it down until it was done! Actually, as soon as I did finish it, I wrote this review and then immediately started the next book! Terry thankfully doesn't keep dragon things out unnecessarily, so you will never be disappointed, bored or left waiting for 'it' to happen, whichever your 'it' may be. She beautifully balances the scales of the story with the right amount of characters, magic, action, length and bite all perfectly mated into a terrific story line that is rich, with enough fire to the immerse the reader completely into the story almost immediately, making the 'real world' invisible. In short, the story is perfect with an ending to send you soaring into the clouds. I found myself surprised and/or shocked multiple times throughout this one, which in my opinion is a great thing! It means that no matter how many books Terry writes, or how many of those books I read (working my way through them all!), the stories are always fresh, entertaining, captivating and more, oh so very much more!

Destined Dragons (Dragons of New York book 3) by Terry Bolryder

My life, You have my life. 5 stars

When dragons found treasure, they wanted to lock it down. WHOOOOWEEEE!! Talk about your DRAGON FIRE! Now THIS was a FANGTABULOUS story! I honestly didn't think that much of Sterling or Gentry when first introduced to them in Desired by Dragons (book 2) so even though I already know how fantastic Terry's books are and that I haven't found one that I didn't completely love, I really wasn't expecting too much out of this one. *smacks myself upside the head* Terry did more than just get me to like the two Dragons - she got me to LOVE THEM! As the story progresses and you learn more about each of them, Roxy included, well I found myself so absorbed into their story I forgot I was reading this in my doctors waiting room! Well, at least until the story got ummm how shall we say… heated. snicker I loved hearing the history and traditions of the Dragons and of course, hearing about the other two Dragon triads too! And the shocking twist?!? WOW!! Totally did NOT see that one coming at all! Once again Terry has introduced me to her characters and in next to no time at all, she had me completely connected with them, feeling both for & with them, crying sad tears and happy ones too. No matter the characters, the species, the situations and/or any combinations of them, I am ALWAYS wholly & completely swept away with each & every single book! In my opinion, that takes more than 'just' writing a book. It means that Terry takes time to develop & love her characters, she takes the time to create more than 'just' a story, she creates this world that you can so easily become a part of, eagerly reading the stories over & over again so that you can once again be part of this hot & sexy, perfect world with the most perfect men by your side. Terry also listens to her fans, and writes the stories that we want to read & lose ourselves in. In my books, this shows just how amazing, how phenomenally talented & just how genuinely gifted Terry is as an author! It also shows just how fantastic of a person she is too!
