Cute short story. No fluff. Good storyline. Billionaire Shifters Secretary. The cliche storyline is super-predictable. Unfortunately, makes the story less compelling. No mystery or twists and turns that you don't see coming a mile away. It was alright.

Not a bad story, but could of been better. After 1st chapter, I expected more of a story line on the security business that would link future books and the men that worked there. Was a bit of a let down. The last several chapters came alive aND made a much better read.

Lila Jean did a wonderful job writing this book. It was interesting. I couldn't put it down!! If you love shifter romance novels with protective Alpha males and smart, feisty females this would be the perfect book for you.

Just finished reading and enjoying my free copy given to me by the author. It was a fun shifter romance of a curvy insecure girl getting the sexy hot guy. A well written and edited tale that I finished with a smile. JIR

Sassy heroine, strong sexy hero. I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I always like a HEA story. I will definitely be getting any future books in this series and looking forward to other works from Lila Jean.

A complex story with sneaky bits of humor that have you laughing with the characters, sexy without being over the top and in your face. Loved it. Please keep them coming I am now a fan

This is a well written fantasy/romance story that moves at a very fast pace. The characters are very realistic and believable. If you like shifter romances, this is a good one for a quick read. Not a lot of typos or editing errors, which makes the book even better! I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

I found the characters a bit idealistic but it was a nice escape. This was my first read by this author. I think it had good development but the characters lacked substance. I left the read with questions but was not intrigued enough to purchase a sequel.

The book is about a woman who goes to work for a supernatural security firm as the CEO's secretary. However, the CEO realizes she is his mate. Great descriptions of the shifters. You really get a feel for what they look like.
Great story line too. It has a HEA but also describes the secondary characters enough that you want to read the second book.

This was a very good story. It was different from other shape shifters I have read in that the main character didn't spend most of their time in their animal form. The first part of the story spent a lot of time in decided scenes but then the action picked up. This is a book I am going to keep to read again.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable read. The characters, including the side characters, were more than 1 dimensional. Lila Jean has made a comprehensive story line to follow interspersed with the hot sex. Mara has moved home with her parents after a humiliating breakup. Now she has to have a job in order to rebuild her life, pay her credit cards & student loans. Zane is a billionaire mountain lion shifter who now owns the security company started by his brother who was murdered 10yrs ago. When Mara is hired as Zane's secretary sparks immediately start to fly. Zane is still trying to wrap his head around his attraction and how it will effect his business when he finds out his brothers killer has escaped prison. I didn't want to put it down until it was finished.

The Mountain Lion’s Secretary is a paranormal shifter romance that is wonderfully written. Author Lila Jean did a great job with her writing and creativity. I really liked the plot and characters and feel this is a solid 4 star book. There was only one aspect of the book I do think could be improved on, but other than that, this is an amazing book.
The Mountain Lion’s Secretary follows Mara in her desperation to get a job. She accepts a job with a security firm known for having shifters on the payroll. While this makes her nervous, she accepts the job anyways. Enter Zane. He is the security firms CEO. He has some issues to work out which leads to us watching him go through some character development.
The plot of this book is simple, yet enjoyable. I really liked the way Lila Jean wrote both of these characters. Mara has her vulnerabilities, but she also has such strength. This is really important in female characters for me. Zane is an alpha male who is thrust into a situation that he didn’t realize he even wanted. I respect him for taking a chance rather than fighting it. Watching these two characters develop was wonderful. They both have such strength that they lend to each other. It is really spectacular.
If you were wondering about the heat in this book, there is plenty. Lila Jean sure knows how to write passionate scenes between characters with so much chemistry. Reading the interaction between these two characters, I felt like I could feel the electricity flowing in the room. While it is passionate, there is also a tinge of sweetness in the scenes as well. It is the perfect combination to satisfy all readers.
The only part of this book I felt could be improved on is the timeline. I really feel like everything was rushed and happened too fast. Taking the time to introduce the characters to us more and also taking time to build up their relationship would add another depth to the story to elevate it to 5 star level. Also including more minor characters interaction would open it up for her to have more books starring other characters and make the reader be invested to read other books in the series. With that being said, this is not a bad book. It is actually a really good book and I can’t wait to read more from the author.
Overall, this is a magnificent paranormal shifter romance. Not only does it have romance, it has just enough action to make it interesting, but not overwhelm the story. Author Lila Jean did an amazing job with this book and I cannot wait to read more from her. I would recommend this book to friend. Great job!

Mara Warren had to move back home to her parents home after finishing school, it seems that degrees don't count if you don't have experience. The one good job as a secretary if for Grizzly Bodyguards and Security...for the CEO Zane Bradley ( and he didn't know his second hired her till the day she showed up for work and Ryker left for Italy right after he told him...leaving Mara to deal with him). Zane doesn't think needs help or wants it, but when she walked in an said," I need this job but I won't beg. Do I need to leave?" He said, "No, come on in." Zane now had a problem he had to deal with because she was is mate and he didn't really want to face it.He also knew he wanted her, but couldn't have her..it couldn't work if she wasn't his. So he told her that but he would help get her on some place else. Now it was up to her which way things would go. His other problem was his brothers killer was back after 10 years, he was ready to start trouble. Zane had to finally face things and become the Alpha (not just the boss) of the clan he has built over years and trust them to have his back. They want him to lead, to be a real clan, but can he do it,is he ready yet? Without them does he stand any chance of getting Mara back?

Nice little insta-love story about a rich mountain lion shifter and the human woman hired to be his secretary. Mara has experienced a bad breakup and is self-conscious about her weight. She has a college degree but can't find a job. She is very surprised to find herself hired to work at a security firm run by a shifter as they typically only hire shifters. Zane is not happy that his friend has taken it upon himself to find Zane a possible mate. His attitude changes when he realizes that Mara is indeed the perfect mate for him. Unfortunately there is someone from Zane's past who could put his burgeoning romance in jeopardy.

Zane is furious when Mara is employed as his secretary but once he meets her it all changes. He is attracted to her and she to him but, an enemy from his past has escaped prision and is stalking him
Can he keep Mara safe?
Can he get vengeance on his brother’s murderer?
Lots of shifter action and a great climax to the story, I would very much recommend this book.

Fantastic start to a series - just started the second book and looking forward to the next one! Love shifters and this series has a bit of many different kinds: mountain lion, bears, wolf, and a dragon thrown in for good measure just to start.i also like that the female leads are not the usual model perfect characters which makes the stories more realistic - and yes in my world shifters are realistic ? Settle in for a quick fun read and I bet you buy the second book in the series as well. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I don't normally read secretary-type stories, but I must have downloaded this at some point and decided to give it a go last night. And, it just made me smile. The kind of silly grin you get when you're enjoying something that's pure fun. Warning, by fast-paced, I mean...FAST. The timeline is short and the story of Mara and Zane and their budding...make that explosive relationship happens within hours to a few short weeks.

Likes: the characters were a rag-tag collection of shifters who comprised a family, the dialogue was witty, the internal thoughts well-crafted, and the sex scenes were delicious.

I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book for review and I have to say this book really brought you into the middle of the story. Lots of action and hot romance. If you love shifter stories, you really need to read this. Great Author and looking forward to more writings from her.

Loved it. This was a quick read about a billionaire who happens to be a shifter who finds his mate at a time when it is dangerous for her. I really liked how his security employees made him realize they were a clan of sorts. Nice story. I've already got the second one

Fast paced, well written with few errors, smoking' hot and happily ended. Already on book 2 and looking forward to many more. Can see this author becoming one of my favorites right beside Milly Taiden, Zoe Chant and Terry Bolryder.

This book was very well thought out and written. I loved how Mara and Ryker brought Zane out of his need to be alone. This book has mystery, romance and bromance. Do yourself a favor and try this one.

This was a great introduction to the series. It was short and quick - not a lot of character development, but enough to understand the character's motivation. No overt grammatical errors or "first person" errors. I would definitely read more in this series!
