This had some good writing. I didn't like the main character comparing herself to Moses parting the Red Sea. Moses didn't part the Red Sea, God did. And I didn't like the unnecessary and subtle anti-Christian theme. Other than that the story line was not that bad. The heroine was not a whiner which I appreciated.

This book kicks off the series in a very nice way we get a strong smart lead who finds good friends and takes intelligent risks it's refreshing when an author doesn't succumb to the tragic hero with all the world against her cliche and instead we get fun strong characters that develop nicely throughout the book

I have not read any of this author's work before this, but Spellsingers Academy certainly has me headed in to Book Two of this series. I suppose it could be classified as Young Adult, but I am 65 years old and enjoyed it just the same. Good characterization, decent plotting and entertaining dialog are well done. I expect the next book to be more of the same!
An Urban Fantasy Action Adventure (The Unbelievable Mr. Brownstone Book 1) :: and Hotter Than Helltown - Silver Bullet :: Lost Library: An Urban Fantasy Romance :: An Elemental Fantasy Series (House of Xannon Book 1) :: An Urban Fantasy Novel (The Ruby Callaway Trilogy Book 1)

All I can say is wow freaking awesome. If you liked harry potter just think college instead of primary school. An adult version still clean but along those lines. Great cast of characters freaking awesome story and a wonderful new world to discover and explore in the magical world
I do not know how many books are planned in this Series but I hope it goes 10 or more. I love the hairy Potter world and I will put this one right up there maybe even right next to it. I cannot wait for the next book in the next book and next book in the next book. I am hooked. Just so you know I’m not a teenager I am a middle-aged adults and I still loved this book

A wonderful start to a new series. She and mother had been in hiding from her father since her birth and she continues this even on her mother's death. However saving a young family has put her freedom in jeopardy. Add a magic school, new friends, a hot vampire, a death and a nefarious plot. Mix well and you have a terrific read about a young girl not only discovering her magic but trying to clear her name from an accusations of murder. She is inexperienced but will stick up for what is right. Great supporting characters and a hot hunk vampire too.

Annabel Chase does an excellent job and this new series is no different! I absolutely love the complexity she weaves into her stories. Each character was so unique and really made me want to meet them and dive into the pages where magic lives. It also kept me guessing until the end on who did it. Five stars for such a great read!

Thoroughly enjoyed the book. Byn is basically a smart survivor. She has lived on her own for many years living under the radar in fear of a powerful father she never knew. Now she gets to join the paranormal community and attend a school that will teach her the things she needs to know.

This is by far Annabel Chase's best work. The complexity of characters and non formulated writing made it an action pack page turner. It has depth which her writing lacked in her first series Spell bound. I look forward to reading the next in this series.
