Normally this is not my genre. I have decided that I need to branch out and stop just thinking in action adventure and mystery.

This was a fun read. Moved along with good pace and kept me involved all the way through.

Keep it up Kate, I am looking forward to the next one.

Lizzie, the main character, is especially fun to read. Her personality is quirky. I also loved the relationship between Lizzie and McKenna. I really felt like they were two best friends.

I look forward to seeing more development of John's character and to seeing more moments between Lizzie and John.

I loved the way the characters and world was build. The story brought a new perspective on Lycans and spell casters alike. Fun, adventure and a little romance thrown in, what more could you ask for? I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I thought okay, give it a whirl, there isn't much else that is on the market & a new author can be good (can be a disaster too). I enjoyed this book & as soon as I had finished it, I downloaded the 2nd in the series.

I liked the wry humour, the adventure mixed with mystery and the way the story only gets wrapped/ conclusion in the last couple of chapters
am buying the next one, I really want to find out what happens next!

I won't lie, I read this book in one day. I stayed up way past my bedtime because I had to know what happened. This book is also exactly the type of book I love to devour. A strong, intelligent lead female character thrown into a world of magic, supernatural creatures, and mystery. Kate Baray did a great job of keeping me entertained up until the last page. Looking forward to the next book!

What a wonderful world of Lycan and magic the author has created. The characters are immediately likable and you become invested so quickly. I could barely put it down from page 1. Can't wait to get the next one:).

I loved this book! I saw the title and as an avid reader "library" caught my attention. I read the reviews, downloaded a sample and bought it. The Lost Library: An Urban Fantasy Romance it is the heroine of the piece who doesn't know her powers-didn't even know magic existed until she is sent a book that she can see writing on but do to the letters moving, its blurry she is unable to read and her best friend only sees a blank page.

Kate Baray has written a fast paced, interesting book which I glad to say is much more story than ‘romantic scenes.’ Her world building is both unusual and comprehensive, and creative.

There is a "hero" love interest an awesome villain and some great supporting cast. I was so impressed I can right back to the store when I got done reading this book (at 2 AM) and bought the second one.

It's ok. However, I was irked when all Lizzie and Kenna talked about is men - getting a boyfriend, getting laid, lamenting the last time Lizzie got laid, or hooking up with random supernatural male beings.

First of all, I do not write a synopsis of the book I review. I give you my impressions and perhaps a few tidbits. I assume you would like to read the book yourself. Now that that is out of the way:

This is well-written and has a new slant on magick, spellcasters and werewolves. There were a couple of editing errors that were glaring enough to pull me out of the story but certainly not bad enough to throw Lost Library across the room while swearing violent death. It is also a strong story about friendship, both old and new. I'm looking forward to seeing how this quality plays out in the rest of the series.

Now, get yourself out of here and go read a great book!

Great book, hard to put down and a really quick and easy read as a result. Reminded me of Janet Evanovich with a likeable, strong and quirky heroine and with fun to read exchanges and a growing and suspenseful relationship between your two favorite characters. Great all the way around!

Romance? Eh, it wasn't sexy and was a serious let down in the romance department. As a story, it was enjoyable. The characters are pretty fun, if a little one dimentional. The biggest let down was in my expectations for a romance. If you are looking for a sexy hot read, this isn't it. Blah. If I'd wanted something this bland, I would have picked up a young adult romance.

I liked the new twist in the Lycan world but I felt like some things were over explained. Lizzie was a likable character but she also was very disappointing in her development throughout the story. I have the second book already do I'll read it to see what happens but the story was faltering a bit by the end.

This was my first urban fantasy romance novel and Wow! I'm definitely hooked after reading this book. And, I see there's already a book 2! Got to have it! The action packed adventure of Lizzie and John continues, YES! Note: if you've never read an urban fantasy romance and wonder if you'd like em, THIS is the book to read! You'll definitely be hooked! I know I am now!
This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

I tried to like this book, but I just couldn't. The author put a lot off effort into it, but I could not get into the characters. I had to force myself to keep reading. I thought the heroine was ok, but I did not like the love interest. There is more, but I just cannot put my finger on it.

I can't say something about this book because it was a present to a young woman who ask me a time ago that she likes to read about paranormal things and has not the money for it and the library didn't offer this kind of books.
But if I meet her again I will ask her how she likes this series

This is an author who has some good ideas but its not a rainy afternoon read. It doesn't flow, there is no rhythm to the ideas. A book that should have taken me 4 hours at most to read took several days. The story was good enough to plow through but did not have the rhythm of a seasoned writer. Yes I know she has a number of published books but I believe she is self published and has not had a guiding had to edit it to a free flowing story one can't put down. Take J R Rain he is self published in similar type stories but his flows to the point you don't realize a number of hours have past, your in love with his people. Here Kate has taken a 38 year old woman and makes her actions that of a young teen trying to be grown up. If she is going to be an adult over 30 make her act as one. Either this is a young teen book or an adult book. It can't be both. At 38 I had 3 children and a career. I think Kate has creative ideas but I wish she would make her characters more 3 dimensional. I read 2 to 3 books a week and from every type out there, sorry to say I have no need to find out what happened to these characters, yet there are authors I pre buy not even knowing what the next book is based on the author. Would love to see if Kate grows over the years with her writing, I wish her well.

I really enjoyed the different spin on this story.I thought having the mix of magic with the world of Lycan was great. I am very excited about reading the rest of the series. I was offered a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review.

Is this a good book? I don't know. I do know that it's a poor attempt at an audio book. Authors and their publishers need to get the memo that narrating audio books is an ACTING JOB -- not a reading job -- and they need to hire voice actors. The day's of simply reading an audio book are over.

I won't buy any book if the audio version is poorly read, mainly because I only listen to audio books these days and only rarely read them.

I enjoyed the storyline and what the author was trying to convey in Library Lost. Yet, mostly I found it to be slow and a hard read in many area's of the book.
I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book through Reading Deals, so I could give an honest review.

I really enjoyed this. There was ample time to develop a plot and work on the central characters, not just the two protagonists. While there were a few errors, they were minimal--one just had the characters names reversed in a sentence, but it was easy to work out what was meant. The isolation of the US packs added an explanation for the lack of knowledge of the characters. I've been reading a lot lately, due to being off work for a bit. This is the best of the books I've read in that time.

If you love books about the supernatural - shifters, magic users, etc - then this is DEFINITELY a book you should read! Lizzie is an ordinary (so she thinks) person, who suddenly comes into possession of a magic book... but she can't read it. She tries for years to decipher why it was given to her....then a wolf shows up at her door...... Loved this book!!

Love this book. Lizzie received a mysterious book that she can not read. She shows it to her friend who says it is blank but loss is see writing. John shows up at her door and claims the book belongs to his pack of wolf shifters lizzie is kidnapped and learns a secret about herself. There is romance, mystery and action. Don't want to spoil it but full of imagination and twists. Worth the read. Can't wait to read the next book. Comedy too...what more can you want?

A bit formula to be a great read, but fun for sharing day read. I knew what was going to happen a little too often, but the plot and story line were fun anyway. Female finds out she is magic and werewolves need her help and off we go.

I'll be honest and say that I was surprised how much I liked the story. Since I'm not a huge Urban Fantasy reader I don't have much to compare to, but I really liked where this was going. Even though there isn't a HEA there is a HFN ending which works for me. The only other turn off was the cover. If I had been in a store and looked at a hard copy, I would have assumed a YA read that was going down the "Twilight series" path which I am not interested. Trying not to give spoilers, but the heroine is a mature woman which did make it enjoyable to me. I'm actually going to add the rest of the series to my TBR pile.

Here we have a girl living in Austen Texas who has a lot of British mannerisms...interesting. Just so you know it is kind of rare for Texans to drink cups of tea. We like our tea in large glasses thats swmming in ice and very sweet.
A lemon slice is always a nice touch.
Lizzie found a book on her doorstep. The book had strange properties. Everything changed when the book came.
Nothing is now normal.
Not bad.
