If you enjoy adventure and true justice for the evil that lurks throughout the world we live in, than you will love everything Andy puts his pen to......or keyboard to. Andy, please never stop writing.

Once again Andy McDermott followed through on his reputation for exciting, high energy thrillers that were impossible to put down. Every time I think that he cannot top his last novel he manages to do it somehow. This book is well written and will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. My only regret is that there are not more stars to give him. I cannot wait for the next one.

4.5 stars, rounded up. I really enjoyed this book. This was the first book I read in this series, and the first by this author.

It took a little getting used to. Constant action and suspense, one bad situation after another, and I had to take frequent breaks because it got to be too much. But I did love the characters. Eddie was very resourceful and irreverent, Nina was a strong but likable heroine. I appreciate the level of detail and research that went into this story (even if I did skim through some of the more technical descriptions). Good job, Andy McDermott. You put a lot of work into this and it shows.

The underlying story was great, well-thought out, with plenty of twists and turns to keep me coming back for more. Reminded me a lot of Dan Brown's stuff, but with a more tolerable level of detail. I think Eddie and Nina are two of those characters who will stay with me long after I've read the book.

Love this series of books! Andy McDermott knows how to write action packed books with great characters, and I don't mean just the people as the places become so vivid. Each book is a roller coaster ride of events that always keep me glued to the page anticipating the next move for Nina & Eddie. Plus, the rapport of these two is so entertaining! I own the paperback copies and I'm looking forward to adding the ebooks to my mobile library. Yes! I'm one of those who will reread several times if the book(s) is worthy and trust me…this series is worthy! Be ready to be enthralled, intrigued, and thoroughly entertained! Happy Reading!

Great literature? Nah, but a rollicking good time. Fast paced escapism for those who grew up with Indiana Jones. F bombs prevent me from giving it to my 11 year old granddaughter but I know she'd love the adventure.

There was no continuation of a plot or character development as the protagonists boomeranged from one catastrophe to another - really hard to have any sort of continuity with style of writing. I happen to be retired military and served with several Australian units in combat; in no way to they curse as continually and as crudely as the main character does. I would not recommend for a read.

Wow, this latest in The Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase is the best yet. It ties up ongoing events from the previous adventures and does so in Grand fashion. The book is fun and fast paced and if you are a fan this will not dissapoint in any way. I loved it and cruised through this read. When it comes to adventure and edge of your seat thrills this book has it all in abundance.(less)

Archaeologist Nina Wilde and her husband former SAS soldier Eddie Chase have three interrelated ancient statues that will release energy not seen since before the fall of Atlantis. However, nothing goes right as the statues are stolen. Soon afterward Nina witnesses Chase killing her friend INTERPOL Cultural Property Crime Unit chief Ankit Jindal in Peru.

On the one year anniversary of their marriage, Nina wonders how Chase is doing as he vanished three months ago after murdering Kit. Her search for the stolen statues is her only relief from her depression. At the same time, Eddie misses his wife, but knows he must prove his innocence and catch Kit's real killer if he is to have a future with his beloved Nina. He gets an anonymous tip that's ends him to Japan; while she learns the statues were sold to a wealthy industrialist in Tokyo. However, Chase realizes his true mission is to keep Nina safe as she has become the focus of some nasty souls.

This is an exhilarating over the top of Mount Kita thriller that originally was published as Temple of the Gods. Chase and Wilde are on separate thrilling adventures with his to save his life and hers to save the planet. Their merging in Japan speeds up the planetary doomsday countdown. Fast-paced, readers will enjoy the latest Wilde-Chase escapades.

I have read several of McDermotts books and while the action is fast and furious it is also predictable to the point of boredom. I found myself skipping over some pages because it was so easy to see that even tho Eddie is a trained SAS commando he is the victim of his own shortcomings and Nina causes most of the problems they encounter. So yes the book is just ok.

Yet another rip-roaring adventure featuring Eddie Chase and Nina Wilde. All the usual features in this series are present. Explosions, thrills and spills and a wild(e) (see what I did there?) race to beat the bad guys. The story leads to a highly satisfying (not to mention improbable) finale, high above an exploding volcano!

An excellent example of action packed fiction. All of McDermott's novels are a blast, this one perhaps being the most fun. The characters and style have been well developed in the past books and it shows. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

~~ Although I enjoyed this book, it would have been nice if Bookbub would have started with book 1 in the series so we would know what was goin on..I find this to be an annoying problem with other books they offer.I realize that the books are 'free' or inexpensive, however I feel like I 'm being forced to buy,,especialy when I have enjoyed the stories.

I enjoyed reading this book. The authors discriptions make you feel like you are there, and the characters are very likeable. I like a lot of action in my stories and this one has that, it builds up slowly from beginning to an exciting end.
