Bought this for Christmas along with the Blue book for my 3 year old who is a big Dr. Seuss fan and already has the Big Red book. She sat in front of the Christmas tree reading it for 15 minutes before opening any other presents!

My 1st grade daughter would not read and then she got hooked on Dr. Seuss' Sam I Am so when I saw these books I knew these would be a hit. My daughter loves them and it's the only thing she will read. So if your child is stubborn to get reading and they love Dr. Seuss these books are great. And I would say they are perfect for 1st and 2nd graders. Not too many words a page but not too little either.

six books in one! needed the same but different books for little ones in same home, they are great books to read just one or the whole thing without a lot of time. Bought yellow and green they are both awsome!

This is the 2nd Beginner Book with multiple stories that I have bought for my grand daughter. We like the Dr Suess books and they are good reading for a child just beginning to read, It is nice because all the books are together and She can just choose which she wants to read, All children when they are learning to read need books that are the correct level and these are great to read to a child that isn't quite ready to read and then they can just move into reading them themselves. I love the book, my daughter loves the book, my grand daughter loves the book AND my grandson also loved to have the book read to him. My grand daughter even reads to her little brother at times. Nice bonding time for them!

I have "The Big Green Book of Beginner Books" and The BIG Blue Book of Beginner Books. The stories in both books are easy for beginning readers; but the stories in the blue book have full plots and are more interesting. The green book stories are sillier and nonsensical. Dr. Seuss has written much better stories than these.

My daughter says she likes both books equally well. She especially enjoys searching for all the silly objects in "Wacky Wednesday." I will give her opinion more weight in the star rating. After all, it is a children's book and it does what I want, which is motivate her to read. I personally would have given it 3 stars.

If you are trying to decide between the blue book or the green book, I'd recommend the blue book.

We love this collection of Dr. Seuss beginning books. I had never heard of any of them before getting this collection. The books are written in a slightly different style than his other books, but are excellent nonetheless. My favorites are "Great Day For Up" (such cute illustrations!) and "I Wish That I Had Duck Feet." My three-year-old loves finding all of the silly pictures in "Wacky Wednesday." He loves the whole book in general and reads it in bed every night! Highly recommended!

These are our favorite books for our toddler, very fun to read and great illustrations as you would expect from Dr. Seuss. Plus if you're traveling you can bring just one book with you rather than several.
